Long-distance move from Passaic, NJ to Oakland, CA

Amazing!!

Our cross-country move was complex, so I wanted to use a mover that I could trust. My friend recommended US household and I'm glad we made the right choice. They just delivered all of our things exactly the way they should. The guys brought everything into the house and we make sure nothing was damaged. I'm very satisfied with the experience I would not hesitate to use them again in a heartbeat.

Long-distance move from Skokie, IL to Scottsdale, AZ

Worst unprofessional experience.

This is the most unprofessional moving company imaginable and worst experience we’ve ever encountered. The salesman Steve, low balled the quote by $2200!! He assured me we would be receiving our load by July 1st - July 2nd the latest. It’s already July 5th and no one seems to know or care when our truck will be leaving the Chicago area for our new home in AZ. They just say it will take another week once they finally do find a truck. The managers refuse to answer calls and individuals who answer calls say they are busy and they will let them know. We never get called back.

Long-distance move from Philadelphia, PA to Portland, OR

Awesome service.

Expert movers that make sure we get the job done right. We never moved before so their guidance and support was very helpful. They coordinated the whole move and make sure our things are I've done time. I would not put my trust into another mover anymore after my great experience with US household Moving and Storage. For me, they have been a blessing and I will use them again with no issues.

Long-distance move from Missouri to Florida

Illegitimate company - Business model is based on FRAUD.

Warning - DO NOT GIVE THEM A DEPOSIT!

Let's see. There are so many shady things done by this company.
I received an estimate to pack my entire house. Along with that was a list of furniture / large items for the truck.

I come to find out that all of the so called items they packed were never included into the weight and volume of the truck. They said they would disassemble my furniture - dressers+mirrors, bed+headboard. I went through so much detail to explain all my belongings - Glass , china and other fragile items needed to be packed. closets with lots of clothes needed wardrobe boxes.

This is where it begins. I received email clarification from the Sales guy "John" that all my items would be on the truck and were all included in the estimate. A week before the move the "QA" guy calls me. He wasn't so nice. He informed me that to actually move my belongings it would be at least another $2500. Of course it would depend upon what the movers actually see that day when they come out. And the mirrors from my dresser were not included. The headboard was now a separate item, and that all the boxes were 18x18x18. (Not glass pack, not wardrobe, etc).

Keep in mind this company does NOT own the trucks. They are basically a company that will low ball estimate you and hire a set of movers. Every chance along the way they will jack up the cost of your move.

We realized this and then attempted to get clarification in writing on what is and is not included. This is when the "Customer Service guy" Tyler called me. He 'listened to the ordeal and supposedly talked to the "QA" guy. Well after he said there is nothing he could do. I told him I wanted this in writing. We were moving the Tuesday after Memorial day. The thursday before, the move, I had heard nothing back from Tyler or anyone else in the company - they ignore you. Mind you - there were multiple days of me reaching out to them only to get no response from them.

I figured they were not going to hold their end of the bargain and that Thursday I rented a u-haul and hired labor to pack and load my belongings. I emailed Thursday to Tyler telling him he breached our contract and I was going elsewhere.

Well that evening, Tyler emailed me back saying he would pack and load up to 30 boxes (18x18x18) of my stuff along with my furniture. This was NOT going to make things right. This was another attempt to low ball me and extort more money.

I think Tyler has a burner phone or at least he goes through so many phones that his cell number has someone else listed when he calls.

I am attempting to get my deposit back of $2000. I have reached out to an attorney and will continue to pursue the return of the money they stole from me.

So if you read a good review - you should ask yourself if it is real. There is a well orchestrated SCAM. The electronic estimate you get prior to signing will be a short version without the legalese of the estimate you receive after you sign.

DON'T HIRE THEM. PASS THE WORD. READ ALL THE REVIEWS. THE GOOD ONES ARE SUSPECT.

Avoid Company at All Costs.

I originally set up another moving company that had a guaranteed price of under $5,500 for a 28 ft. trailer to move. My items are all packed in a current semi-trailer and just need to be moved to an interstate moving trailer. Drew, your sales person called me up and guaranteed he could beat that price. I was driving with my kids and listened to his presentation. Sure enough, he quoted in the low $4,000 and included movers to lift my boxes for me. That sounded great, but I told him I wanted to walk through my boxes and give him an exact count first as I didn't want an under quote.
I called him back after I got home with a count as close as anyone could have given of my materials since they were already packed. He raised his quote to around $5,500 but said we should be good to go. He said the quote was for lbs. not for area. I asked him many times if area mattered, and he said that only the lbs mattered. He promised that the company had to weigh the load. He also said that because my boxes were filled with clothes that he should remove some boxes and downgrade them to smaller boxes so the weight more accurately matched what it should be. I confirmed with Drew time and time again about the weight compared to area as to six months ago I worked directly with a moving company and their quote was with area. Drew promised once again that only weight mattered and he was doing what was best. I told him I would need the full 28 ft truck load, and he said it wouldn't be a problem. He also said I was getting one of the best deals since this was a company passing through, and I would not be charged what is typical.
Drew was nearing the end of his shift and said we needed to make a decision soon as to my move was a couple of days away. He sent over the contract, highlighted the bolded quote guarantee, and said if the movers wavered in price, not to sign anything but to call in and US Household would take care of it. Due to time constraints, I signed the contract without reading all of the fine print, but only seeing what Drew highlighted and trusting that the company was honest.
When the movers arrived, they arrived with half a truck load, and after walking through my stuff, started throwing on extra fees for bulky items that were already listed on their sheet. They added an additional $700 just in those charges, including some items that were smaller and lighter than most of my boxes. They then said that they couldn't do the move as to they had to go unload the truck first. They didn't come back for two more days. I had things I had to get to and had to rearrange my schedule to accommodate. They also said that the move would cost another $3500 minimum, bringing the total costs to over $9,500. Going from $5,500 to $9,500 was quite the jump and in no way was what I was expecting. I had called US Household on the first day several times and then on the day they came back, and only got, sorry, your contract states they can do everything they are doing. When asking how their quote could be so far off, they said sorry, there is nothing they could do, it’s all a formula. It was obviously way off, meant to give lower quotes and get the client stuck feeling like they have to pay the extra due to time constraints the day of the move.
I moved out here 6 months ago. I worked directly with a moving company that charged under $8,000 for the complete move and they packed my house on top of the similar services provided by US Household Moving. This time I went with a broker because I was promised better rates, better service, and better accountability. What I got was over $2,000 more in fees than that of my last full service moving company, less services and a lost $1,700 in a deposit they claim is non-refundable.
My move has been delayed, the salesman was extremely deceptive and cannot be trusted, the company has shown no empathy or care for the $1,700 they have taken while not providing the service agreed upon.

Great job!

I'm really happy with the move and these guys did not disappoint me one bit. From the beginning, its been a smooth professional ride, and they kept every wordand fulfilled every promise. In fact, we got the lowest price from US Household Moving and Storage when compared to all other movers. They are fully competent and assisted us in every question we had.

I don't know about others experience, but ours was very pleasant and we recommend US Household Moving to anyone in search of a good home mover for a long distance haul.

Long-distance move from New York to California

Fraud - Do NOT Use! (Florida Location).

My Fiancee and I contacted US household moving & Storage (the Florida location) to move our belongings from NYC to SF. They are a third party broker, and claimed they had a moving company set up that would move our items. We paid US Household multiple thousands of dollars, and then when it came time for the move, the actual moving company informed us that they could not move our belongings for the rate the broker gave us - and that it would be many thousands more. We were able to terminate our contract, because the terms were incorrect, and found a different moving company on our own all together. However, we have contacted US household moving & storage multiple times to try to get our money back, and they refuse to refund us our money. We are in the process of opening a court case, since they are committing fraud.

Long-distance move from Paramus, NJ to Los Angeles, CA

Interstate move from Paramus NJ to Los Angeles CA.

Our family moved cross country and we encountered no issues along the way. The guys at US Household Moving and Storage are very receptive to all the changes we where looking for. At first, we needed more packing materials which were quickly provided. We also needed the delivery date changed which they were able to accommodate. I’m happy I found guys that worked with me because otherwise it would be a crazy situation. Definitely use these movers if you get an opportunity.

Long-distance move from Charlotte, NC to Atlanta, GA

Do Not do It!!

If I could give them -5 stars I would. Where do we begin? They were very easy to work with (initially) and gave us a quote. There was pressure to purchase immediately but since we were in a time crunch we went with it. A few days later I called with some small additional items that needed to be added to the quote. This resulted in a new quote that was $1000 more than our previous quote- but they had already locked our deposit in so there was nothing we could do. We ended up sticking with the original quote and moving the rest of the items ourselves- to which the sales person (Micheal) hung up on us because he did not receive the sale.

They give a two day window for pickup. The sales person told us that we should expect the movers during the first day (as preferred) but then the night before they called and said the truck would not be here until the second day. When I told the dispatcher how inconvenient this was for us she said "Sorry sweetheart" and hung up. The second day rolls around, we still do not hear anything, and we finally get in touch with customer service- our movers are not going to get here between 6-9pm AT NIGHT. Well, we were 8 hours from home and obviously not willing to drive through the night and very upset at the lack of professionalism. A few minutes later the driver calls us and he is 13 HOURS AWAY AND WILL BE THERE AT 2 AM!! Obviously, at this point we just want our money back. OH, well never mind because they have protected themselves in a clause that states they do not guarantee the window. They tried to reschedule for next weekend and we told them to cancel (after hours on hold with "customer service.") Oh, and "Bethany" is by far the most rude, unprofessional, and immoral person I have ever had the displeasure of speaking with. I truly do not know how the people that work for this company sleep at night.

We are now out $900, our stuff has not been moved, and we are going to have to pay another company to move us. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!

Long-distance move from Delray Beach, FL to Point Pleasant Beach, NJ

Successful move.

This was a very long distance relocation so I know those are not easy, but US Household did everything right in moving us quickly in the timeframes that we needed. Most importantly, the price was within our budget so we did not break the bank just trying to move all our stuff. I personally have alot of precious belongings that I did not want damanged in any way and they were super careful. I'm appreciative of their receptiveness in my requests, that's why I rate us household in fort lauderdale with five stars!
