US Household Moving & Storage

Sticking to my word here, Chris Petersen from Us Household told me that if they exceeded my expectations than he would like me to write my first review online for him.. Well here we are today the day after my household was dropped off. Everything he told me along this process was accurate and done flawlessly, I was so worried about putting my 3 generations worth of belongings in anybodies care. Chris put me and my Husband at ease and comforted my husband and I along the whole process, Always answered his phone and did everything I asked along the way.. His staff of Customer service are wonderful and made this move so easy for us. Sarah From customer service was such a pleasure to speak with and was always upfront with us. All in All is I can say that they do care about the consumer and will be helping throughout the whole process like they said they would. I have had a bad experience in the past and was very worried before making this move with ANY company.. They Made us very happy and god forbid I make another move it will be with Us House Hold.. Thank You again Chris..

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $7500

We contracted with this moving broker. They claimed that they had a truck in our neighborhood during the time of our move, therefore they can provide a lower cost estimation. They did not.
They delayed the pick up date 4 times, and very bad customer service.After a week of delay, the driver called us that the pick up time is at 9pm. We had to find a different mover last minute and threw away out $1100 deposit.
DON'T use them! all the customers like me losing our deposits should find a lawyer and get our money back!

ZERO STARS. Scammers!! Just as everyone else has been saying. Chris K did a very good job at convincing us that our belongings would be picked up and moved and delivered August 7th. Well, it's August 21st and the movers still haven't left New Jersey and in the event that they don't arrive within 10 business days (as they told me over the phone), US Household Moving and Storage denies any responsibility for the delay nor for the quality of the moving company they've partnered with. They stopped caring the moment they took their portion of the binding estimate. Then, as others have said, Chris K's phone number suspiciously switched lines and he vanished. The movers (Express Moving & Storage) will take your things straight to a warehouse in New Jersey (NOT to your destination) where they will then hold it hostage until you pay as much as they demand. And the two companies' contracts are circular such that they diffuse responsibility toward the other in the event of any dispute, and because they know people are out of state, they hope to intimidate them out of filing civil claims while hoping that the stress of not having their belongings will threaten and pressure them into paying more, in some cases 2 - 3x more because that's the psychology of criminals. They try to make you initial blank forms under the impression that you're confirming your belongings went on the truck and then later modify the forms to make it seem like you agreed to revised estimates. They also try to ask you during the "secure" credit card authorization online form (while a representative is on the phone with you) to "repeat your credit card number [out loud] just in case you got it wrong" to instill doubt in you and get your credit card number. Lmao, I didn't fall for that one. Don't do it! They're fraudulent businesses.

Move size: Studio Service cost: $2600

BUYER BEWARE!! You should absolutely stay away from these scammers. Do yourself a favor and find a real and legitimate moving company, they are not that. In fact they are not at all a moving company, just a middle man that tacks on 100% and subs out a moving company and walks away. They took advantage of my wife left to handle details in a shameful way.
I won't spend time with the whole story but, here are the attributes you can expect. Inaccurate at best, shady and most likely just crooked.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $6000

I will never use another move that's for sure after my experience with US household moving. They are very receptive to all of my needs and understand what we were looking for. With many delicate items, I needed my stuff to be handled with great care. US household moving and storage was up to the challenge. On top of that, we saved some money which is always a big plus.

I recommend these movers over anyone else because they are proficient, communicate clearly, and follow the set deadlines. They are also affordable which was a big sticking point for us. A+.
