I have a 400 mile move and called to get a quote. The sales person will tell you whatever they need to including multiple lies to get your deposit right on the spot. Once they have your deposit, they change the terms of the move on you and you have no recourse. I sent a long email to the original sales person, John Martucci and no response or assistance in rectify. But he sure had NO PROBLEM taking my money and lying to me. Their customer service is terrible and I have asked to speak to a manager multiple times to get this worked out and no one EVER calls you back as promised. Its a SCAM!!!

They kept $2000 of my deposit even though I canceled in less than 48 hrs as per their cancellation policy. So I created a website where people can sign up for my class action lawsuit against them and share video testimonials of their stories about dealing with this deceitful and dishonest company.

They have a 48 hour cancellation policy which I followed. Instead my refund request was denied because they claimed I was outside of the 48 hr cancellation window which I was not.

I lost $2000 when no truckers were assigned to my job and they just get to keep it for no reason. Unreasonable.

Let's put a stop to this and let them know we will not tolerate their deceptive business practices.

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $50000

Total rip off. Gave us an initial estimate of $3100 for a four bedroom house moving from California to Arizona. We added a few items they had forgotten to put into the estimate and our estimate doubled to almost $8000. The day of the move when they started loading the movers told us we would go way over our allotted space in the truck. The total came out to $12,000. We were completely backed into a corner because it was the day of our move and had no other option. They promised a direct delivery the next day but they didn’t deliver. We begged the delivery driver to come the day after that and when that day came his whole crew flaked on him so we were left to unload it ourselves with the delivery driver. I’m telling everyone I know not to go with this horrible company!!!

This company tricked me, made me think they were the moving company and I had a personalized team to help me - wrong! They are brokers and have no accountability if anything goes wrong with your move. No one was available to help when I had questions, they said they could set up my move a couple days before I move, leaving me no time if the estimate changed to plan something else, and then refused any refund even 2 months before the move. Do not give this company money before your move. This is a bait and switch company.

Hey seems like a lot of us have had similar experiences with deposits charged and services not rendered, the bait and switch, and same day price changes that try to double and triple the costs of your move.

I had a move.. the movers showed up in a uhaul or similar, walked around my apartment without talking to me, then had someone call me to tell me my move would cost double... without explanation since my inventory actually showed more items then I decided to take! In the end USMS was of no assistance, told me to figure it out with the movers, and while I was doing so the company dispatched their drivers to another job! We worked out a scenario where we would either take part of the items so I would not go over my moving costs or I would add about 1k more to the budget.. They called to say they would be back in the afternoon around 5-6pm and then never showed up... then denied communication I tried to have with them for the next 24 hours. In the end my shit was never moved but looking back on it I'm just glad I didn't work with these fucks and spend 10k more on their fradulent nonsense. Money comes and goes and we are moving the things on our own a month later!

I'm currently fighting them with my credit card company! I feel so bad for those of you who lost very very significant amounts of money or your personal belongings.

The best thing you can do is file a formal complaint with the US Department of Transportation! In the last month their complaints have doubled! Called & gave me a quote of $5000 no hidden fees & supposedly gave a military discount. Movers came & said I went over the square footage & it would cost me $10,000!! Called back Benjamin whom was so helpful at the beginning, had nothing to say just “ let me transfer you to customer service. Customer service Alian was not trying to hear anything I said, she just kept repeating that it’s in the contract. Poor customer service & liars to the core!! I moved from New Mexico to Georgia. A treadmill. 2 arm chairs a dresser, massage chair 2 televisions, 3 area rugs & boxes of clothes shoes , pots & pans which I boxed up myself! And if you have stairs or elevators or parking problems @ your new destination there’s a charge for that!! They charge you for every dam thing that they can think of!!!! Evil company don’t use them ever!!!!!!

Run. Do Not Walk from USMS and Moving Forward Group Inc.

USMS is not a "moving" company. They find a mover and that company is the actual mover. I placed several calls to USMS over the 3 days in which they were to move me and no one returned my calls. John Mike and Frank. Never returned my calls. On the day the actual moving company arrived (Moving Forward Group Inc.) they said they do not accept credit cards! They do cash, cashiers check, money order or wire transfer. They were there on a Sunday It's impossible to get $4000 in cash from an ATM. Banks are not open so I could not do a wire transfer. And I could not get a money order without cash. USMS never told me this would be the only way to pay.

The moving company also informed me no matter which method of payment I gave them they would not be delivering my furniture on the same day! What!! They said it would be stored in a storage facility and delivered in 5 to 21 business days. Who the hell does business like this??? I've moved several times in my life and never had a mover tell me they were not going to deliver my furniture the same day. They said USMS should have told me or I should have read it in the contract from USMS. To say the least this is the most inconvenient and stressful situation I've been through in a long time. It was the last day of the month and I had to be out of my apartment on that day, July 31. They also said I would have to pay them $1800 more because I didn't pack my pictures and glass properly. They charged my $100 because they had to use the freight elevator! I lived on the 3rd floor. I asked them why? They said it was because they had to load it on the elevator and unload it from the elevator. They said if they used the stairs it would be $75 extra per step!!! What a crock of BS!!!

The They original estimate from USMS was $3300. I ended up paying $5800.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND EITHER COMPANY!!!!!

USMS overcharged us after giving us a much lower quote. BE AWARE: USMS IS NOT A MOVING SERVICE, THEY ARE A BROKER! Whatever deposit they take from you is their piece of the action and the trucking company they line up is not bound by their quote it would seem, as I was charged $2500 more than the original quote provided by USMS. The actual movers, without signed contract, took my belongings from the place I had them being stored and moved them to some location (undisclosed) and are demanding full payment before delivering them to me. USMS had a mediator call me, who promised to clear up issues with the movers, but has since blocked my calls and did nothing she promised. She did however urge me to pay the movers the full amount and then pursue adjustments after I had received my possessions. I am unconvinced.
