Local move from Fenton, MI to Hartland, MI

Two Men and a Truck, Brighton, MI.

We recently contracted with Two Men and a Truck from Brighton, MI to move my mother from our lower level to her new residence 25 miles away. Our move day happened to be one of the coldest days in the last 50 years. Drago and Austin arrived on time, went right to work after explaining exactly what they were going to do and explaining a couple optional insurance packages in case something was damaged in transit. They were polite and never complained about the weather or that they would have to carry everything out the back door, onto the path I shoveled in the snow, up the hill around the end condo next to us and down the hill out front to the road. They were careful to not walk on our carpet with wet feet and quickly completed the loading process. At the new residence they had to deal with a double set of heavy entry doors and move the contents close to 100 yards to the second floor apartment (there was an elevator, thank goodness). Again, they worked steady and swiftly (Two Men and a Truck charged us by the time, not the weight or distance). Mom's belongings were handled with care, nothing scratched, dented or broken. While they were moving things into the apartment, a third person from Two Men and a Truck stopped to see how the move was progressing and asked us if everything was satisfactory. After the move Nancy at the office called us to see how we felt the move had gone and asked for further feedback. They made the move very easy for all of us while displaying professionalism and concern for our goods and with a desire to make our move as easy for us as possible. I can recommend Two Men and a Truck from Brighton without reservation and they will be our first call when in need of movers again. Oh, and did I mention they came in under budget on the quote they gave us? The other movers we contacted quoted more than double the original quote from Two Men and a Truck, so the actually amount we paid was almost 60% less then the other.

Awful Company.

They arrived late then one of the guys used our bathroom for 30 minutes. They were very slow. They then sent another person out to help at a charge of $70/hr. They went past their projected time. They broke a dresser and a desk and promised their supervisor would repair or replace the items and then the company denied our damage claim and said that we signed off on them not repairing broken items. WORST MOVING COMPANY I'VE EVER USED.

Stolen Property.

I hired this company in April 2018 to move the contents of a 3 bedroom townhouse in North Myrtle Beach S.C. into a storage unit in Spartanburg S.C. I live in Raleigh N.C. so the contents sat in storage untouched until May 2019 when everything was moved into a house in Spartanburg. There were 4 Sony televisions in the townhouse and 1 was a brand new Sony smart television. Upon emptying the storage unit, I discovered that the new smart television was not there. I called the Conway, S.C. office on May 17, 2019 and spoke with Keith the manager. He assured me that he would look into it and call me back on Monday, May 20, 2019. Guess what! It is now June 3, 2019 and I have not received a response. They did not account for what they removed from the townhouse and did not account for what they moved into the storage unit. They buried the remaining 3 televisions in the middle of the unit so I would not notice that 1 was missing. I was not able to follow their truck between the two locations. I was not able to secure the truck to make sure nothing was removed. I had to wait for over an hour in Spartanburg for them to show up so they had plenty of time to drop off the television somewhere. Do not use this company. They are thieves.

Long-distance move from Redlands, CA to Reno, NV

Redlands to. Reno RIP OFF.

If I can do anything over again it would be to move myself or never have called this company. We just recently moved to redo from Redlands and my wife found two men and a truck on mine I wish we would have never trusted them on the price. Not only did they add extra charges onto our bill but they showed up over 10 days late from the day they promised. We were warned that this company could not be trusted but we thought they had a really good reputation online, at least my wife di not only did they add extra charges onto our bill but they showed up over 10 days late from the day they promise. We were warned that this company cannot be trusted but we thought they had a really good reputation on the line in, at least my wife did. Honestly I would tell any of my friends or family you’re better off moving yourself in a U-Haul with three blind mice, never again.

Lost items.

Do not use!! They broke the frame on a picture and took it to be repaired then lost it. They ignored my calls for three weeks saying they would take care of it until they saw I wasn't going away then they told me their company policy is if you don't have a receipt for the item they lost or broke they will not reimburse you! How many of us have a receipt for every item we own? None. To make it worse they charged me for insurance I didn't ask for and still wouldn't cover the lost item.

Terrible Experience.

I hired Two Men in a Truck of Calgary (this is a franchise) to move into my new home.  What a terrible experience.  I'm of the mindset that things can go wrong, accidents happen, and it's how you fix them that counts the most.  This was such a disappointing experience, and really sad that moving companies can treat people this way.
In my situation, they lost a drawer on my dresser/bedframe, the movers damaged a lamp so just decided to leave it behind, large unpacked pictures with glass were smashed, and a box of my grandmother's china was accidentally dropped from the truck and landed all over the street.
The office team responded to this, going back and forth with management, to assess these issues.  In response, they did build a new drawer to replace the one that went missing, over a three month period.  They also eventually offered to replace the lamp and picture frame, but offered amounts lower than I would even be able to use to buy a similar used version on kijiji.  In regards to the dishes, after several months of going back and forth they offered 10% of what they were actually worth (and I asked for.

Awful move.

OUR MISSION
”The mission of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is to continuously strive to exceed our customers' expectations in value and high standard of satisfaction.” Instead, what happened to us was the ”Move from Hell”!

This past August, we contracted with the Shakopee, MN office of Two Men and a Truck to do our short distance move. Our problems began when only two people arrived despite the fact that we were promised 3 people due to the fact that we had some very heavy furniture.

The movers that were sent were very friendly but incredibly careless. As many movers do, they loaded some of our items in large cardboard boxes on a dolly to get them to the truck. The problem was that they paid no attention to the way things were thrown into these boxes – piling heavy items on top of lighter breakable ones. They kept assuring us that things were safe but as we found out after getting our things delivered, this was not the case.

When our property arrived at our new home, we discovered the following. A damaged antique lamp, a broken lamp, a very expensive lampshade with a deep crease in it, bent piece on another lamp, gouges and scrapes on numerous pieces of wooden furniture, a large chip out of the corner of a desk, a rip in the fabric of a dining room bench, a large tear in the bottom of our newer expensive mattress, and a number of other small issues too numerous to mention.

Next came the 4-month ordeal of trying to get things fixed through this company. In most cases they were able to find a repair person to do a reasonably good job. Our king-sized bed is no longer under warranty because they gouged holes in the mattress. The repair person cut a lousy paper-like cloth and glued it saying that was the best they would do. When it came to the bench mentioned above, we had to send it back twice. First, they patched the once pristine fabric-not acceptable. next when it was returned, it appeared the fabric had been attached to the wooden structure as if by a 5-year-old. The fabric was loosely attached to the frame and the corners stuck out in all sorts of directions. The third time it was fixed, the bench was delivered by Andrew, the store manager, who said the work had been done by professionals. The corners stuck out like noses; the fabric could be pulled away from the corners as they were so loose. There also were two small holes in the fabric. When we pointed the situation out to Andrew, he refused to even look at the bench and made the comment that they are just movers, not scientists. He became quite intransigent when we tried to get him to help and basically told us – too bad. “Some people just can’t be pleased.” (We had accepted all other repairs)

This company’s movers seem to get pretty good reviews overall, but in our case, they were apparently very poorly trained and careless as well. Further, the manager was unwilling to make sure that things were right before dismissing us. If I could give them a rating of less than 1 star, I would have done so.

So much for their Mission Statement.

Worst Move ever!!

My move occurred in November 2019 and it was one of the worst moves ever. I have moved around the country with no issues but somehow going :40 minutes away seemed too much for this company. It started with the team leader who started grumbling because we had them do some packing. The packing was haphazard and because of that we wound up with many items broken. Then as they started delivering items to our new home they didn't have any more mats and didn't have any padding for the for the banisters or doors. This lead to lots of knicks, scrapes, and scratches to the trim, doors and drywall as well as dirty white carpeting. FYI- the home had been freshly painted and carpets cleaned before we moved in.

Then when they were bringing in a large armoire that was purchased for $4000. They broke the foot off and now we have rigged up so it won't fall over. In order to get the armoire in the house, they took the garage man door off. When they were going back to the old house for another load they propped it up. Of course they forgot it was propped up and the door slammed on the ground. Putting a gouge in the wood floors and completely damaging the door lockset beyond repair.

In addition, they randomly left things out on the back patio without telling us in the middle of winter, left about 10% of our household items at the old house, threw anything they delivered later in the evening randomly into the garage and started to get a very "who cares" attitude late in the day.

To top it off they broke my 11 year old daughter's snow globe without telling us. I found out about it when I found broken glass from it on a bookshelf & in the carpet. The snow globe was no where in sight. So later that night I was lucky enough to clean up broken glass & explain to my daughter how the snow globe, which was a present from her grandmother, was now broken.

Worst of all was Justin, their million dollar sales club winner, who completely underestimated the job. This added to the stress of his workers because they had a very long day and added to the stress of my family who had to get a young girl to school in the morning. Then as they are telling us that we owe them additional $1546.18 at 10 PM at night they pull out the scare tactics. The entire crew stood around my husband in the kitchen as he discussed with Mike the increase in our bill. Mike would not leave until we put the entire amount on our credit card. He said to call Brandon, the manager to have him reduce the bill the next day. Of course, Brandon refused to reduce the bill and was very rude.

So all in all we got to pay more for a million dollar sales person to underestimate our job, for the crew to show up without the proper equipment, for items to be damaged, our home to be damaged, to listen to infighting of the crew on how best to move items, inefficient use of manpower & trucks and then to be intimidated in our own house. Though we did agree to pay them for some additional time for packing, they decided what was fair for the damages and just credited it back to card without our agreement. It wasn't nearly enough for the damages that were caused and headaches they caused. Funny part is we paid more for their terrible service than we would've paid for the full service movers we were going to go with. And just to be decent people we fed the crew & even tipped them because we felt they were put in a no win situation.

Don't be fooled by their low estimates, and their catchy slogan about "treating you like they would treat their own grandmother". I wouldn't treat my worst enemy this poorly!!

Recent Move by North Dayton Two Men & a Truck April 11, 2020.

I discovered after the moving crew left that my dryer pedestal would not stay shut and my sleep number bed was not working properly.

I e-mailed the salesman asking if they would pay to have both items fixed. After three e-mails, I never received a reply. I called the appliance company where I bought the pedestal and was told it would cost around $250.00 to fix because of the service call charge. Two Men and a Truck said they would cover any damages up to a certain dollar amount. I got the part myself from the appliance company where I bought the pedestal for $30.00 and I was able to replace it after a struggle since I am not mechanically inclined.

I googled my sleep number bed to find out how to put it together properly so I took the sleep number bed apart and re-assembled it. It is a split king where each side of the head raise independently and the feet raise together (this function was not working). When I took it apart the one air baffle was upside down, the foam that splits the two sides was under the one air baffle so there was a lump. I did get the bed back together and it is now working properly.

I paid a lot of money to have Two Men and Truck move me and am very disappointed that they don't stand behind thier statement that they would fix any damages. I am very thankful they did not screw up my 70 inch OLED LG TV!

The crew was good but the customer service before and after sucks!! I had to move my move date because when I called to confirm the first date the gave me which was in the middle of the week as I was told it is cheaper, the salesman made the comment they could move me that day but they were really booked. With that comment I did not feel like they would take the time to move me properly so I moved to a Saturday but told the Salesman I wanted the same rate which he did give me. After the move, I never got a response to the three e-mails regarding my damages I sent.

I would not recommend Two Men and a Truck just because of the customer service before and after the move!
