It's beyond belief that this company is still in business. They Hi Jack customer low ball you to get you to sign the contract. Right Ken. His the front man. Next come the day labored with rental trucks. The load the truck in the most inefficient way. Then the go to new address. Where you get told 6bat you owe over $4,000 a move quote of $2100.

Was not enough. Had to get a certified check or cash or my things would not be unloaded. after hecticec hour I got the money only to find tons of things broken.no claim no refund just B.S. on the phone. Don't be like me. Use someone else. Anyone is better then Tri State area movers. They SUCK

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $4259

Tri-State quoted $1105 for my local move with a very detailed description of what they had to move. 3 guys and a truck for 6 hours. They moved the 2 things I told them not to move. They also didn’t move about a room full of loose items they said I should have pre-bagged (mostly food and pillows blankets and some stuff). Then BANG $2400 bill based on cubic feet. They should consider that in their estimate maybe but I will never use them again. I immediately cancelled another move I had scheduled with them and went with Dumbo Moving (I used them twice before - I recommend Dumbo) - bill was same as estimate. They moved 100% everything and took care to show me they stole nothing and took special care with all delicate items. They moved 2 packed 10X15 storage units for $1200 (3 guys and a truck for 6 hours and only 160 an hour for overtime beyond that).

Tri-State Area Movers was really great! We had a team of 3 honest guys. They worked their bums off to get our 2nd story apartment items to our new home. They worked really hard to make sure nothing got damaged and we didn't pay any additional fees for extra packaging material. My only suggestion is to make sure all your furniture and TVs are either wrapped in blankets or boxed up before the team comes out. Otherwise this was an amazing experience compared to the overpriced 2 men and a truck that broke half our goods last time. Will definitely use Tri-State Area Movers again!

This scam company is is owned by the same person who owns “Call My Mover”. They literally extorted me and my wife. If you read all the negative comments online for Tri-State you will learn the grift is always the same. They misrepresent and obfuscate the “quote” for their services. They draw you in with a low ball price but willfully send a series of inaccurate quotes. Then they reassure you on the phone that everything will be fine and the low price will remain the same. “Ken” and “Linda” are part of the scam acting at the direction of the owner Gavriel.

On the day of the move, they show up, have you digitally sign a contract without even showing you the contents of the contract, load up your stuff and then demand an unreasonable sum of money to deliver your stuff. Oh and they “charge” you extra (ie extort you) for the delivery of your stuff. In my case, they only packed about half of our stuff so I got double screwed since I then had to hire a second moving company at the last minute to clear out my house in time for the closing.

This isn’t just a bad company, it is a criminal enterprise. I really hope they are stopped.

My mother-in-law was moving out of her one-bedroom apartment, so she started to research- when, out of the blue, she gets a call from this moving company (that she never gave her number to). They quoted her an estimate of $900, so she hired them, they came and packed everything and when they were done "revised" the quote to $3,000, which they wanted IN CASH, ON THE SPOT.

I would think that a company that has supposedly been around for 25 years would be able to provide reasonably accurate estimates instead of TRIPLING the price AFTER the work has already been done, and be able to take credit cards in case it ends up being more than expected.
