Terrible!

Terrible company. They are in the business of attempting to steal money through manipulative emails and fraud. I will be filing a lawsuit immediately. STAY AWAY! I would never recommend a company like this!

In response to Town To Town..

First off..there were Only 3 men that came to move my belongings, Not FIVE! AS WE DISCUSSED, MY THINGS WERE NOT ONLY BROKEN..BUT, THEY HAVE BEEN STOLEN!! The list is Huge..and Your Company is indeed responsible! I was willing to go FAR BELOW VALUE JUST to avoid a lengthy Court process. To which you're taking No Responsibility for & are trying to Say MY THINGS WERE STOLEN!! I HAVE WITNESSES!! I'll see you in court.. IF IT TAKES YEARS!! Which I was trying to avoid, but this is an atrocity!

Official company response

The Eviction process is never easy, it is an emotional time. Please keep in mind we have been completing moves for over 25+ years. Our movers are trained on this legal process. When an eviction occurs Barbra, a constable/sheriff is present the entire move. A legal constable/sheriff would not allow our movers to deliberately steal your belongings. Usually when you are evicted, you leave the premises on bad terms. It is sad you accuse our movers for stealing. It is also sad you stated our movers broke your items. We did complete a detailed inventory of the items we take on the truck marking their condition. All the pieces written on the inventory have "SC,BR,W" meaning scratched, broken and warn. Please see inventory list you signed prior to leaving our warehouse.

Great Move.

We had a good experience with this company. The movers were suprisingly  polite and professional compared to the moving company we used in our last move. They worked fast and efficiently. We have a lot of very valuable prices of art and they handled them with care.  Nothing was damaged. They went a little over the estimated cost. Overall we would definitely recommend this company to others.

Buyer Beware!!

Do yourself a favor and DON'T use this company.

Quoted $540 to move a queen bed, dresser, end table, entertainment center(on wheels), recliner chair, computer desk & chair, small bookcase, 2 lamps, 3 pictures and approx. 20 boxes. Quote included 3 men and a truck @ $169/hr. for 3 hours and a $40 fuel charge. Seemed fairly reasonable for a weekend move but unfortunately this company didn't even come close.

The workers were so inefficient at one point I was close to telling them to leave what's left at the loading dock and I will bring it up myself. Unfortunately we were too busy getting the apartment setup for my parents.

When the final bill came in at $885 it was very disappointing and shocking. No justification for a 3 hour job turning into a 5 hour job, absolutely none..

Official company response

Dear Bill,
We are sorry you feel this way, we work hard at our goal to keep the stress out of your move. It is unfortunate that the list we received from Linda did not have all these items on it. We appreciate the time you had given us to address the complaints regarding your job and discussing your concerns, when we communicated with Linda she didn't express this amount of time being wasted. We did issue a refund for the time discussed. The total bill amount after refund: $800.50. We further apologize regarding the estimated time exceeding what you were estimated.

Stay away for big moves.

We had hired Town to Town movers back in 2014 when we moved from an apartment to a house and had a good experience with them. Based on that we re-hired them for our move this year to another house, but this time we had a very frustrating experience. To begin with they misestimated the volume of our move. Instead of sending someone over to asses the volume they estimated based on a phone conversation. This resulted in an increase of 65% from the estimated price. In retrospect this seems to be strategy to get the initial job. If they had given us an estimate anywhere close to the final amount we would have gotten quotes from other companies, but because they lowballed the quote we did not feel the need to. Even though we ended up paying more, we would've been satisfied if the service had met expectations.

On the day of the move we got four men with one truck. The men were very diligent and proactive and did a good job disassembling everything, however everything did not fit in one truck. This was the root of several problems that followed. The first truck went to the destination and another truck with a different crew was supposed to come and pick up the remaining items from the source home. Once everything reached the destination, the assembling job mostly fell on the 2nd crew. Because of this change the 2nd crew did not know how to assemble things back. So several items were left unassembled. The other issue was that the 2nd crew was not as diligent and proactive as the 1st one. They damaged our front door trims. The biggest damage was the ping pong table. They were quite inexperienced and tried to jam in the entire table with wheels through the area and damaged it in the process. After they were unsuccessful and damages were done they took the wheels off and were able to move the table in very easily.

After the move we sent pictures of the damages to Dave (Town to Town's owner), and he agreed to send people over to complete the assembly and fix damages. In the meantime we got our front door trim fixed ourselves. They came in and partially assembled things. They also tried to fix the ping pong table to no avail. After which they said “There’s really nothing we can do, sorry that it happened, things happen!”.

Recommendation: We will only recommend them for smaller moves (e.g. apartments). If your move has any big/expensive items (e.g. large sporting equipment, big couches or beds that involve assembly, etc.) - [A] ask them to visit you for a more accurate assessment, [B] Get quotes from other moving companies, and [C] hope and pray that right set of guys show up for the move. Otherwise, look for some other company.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2773

Official company response

We thank you for expressing your opinion on our moving crew we sent your way. It is unfortunate to be reading that we should have completed an In Home estimate only because on 3/25/2019 we sent a general estimate with an in home recommendation based on your move size. For homes your size an In home estimate is ALWAYS recommended.

Our estimate was between the 7-9 labor hours and we completed the job in 9 labor hours. We never purposely low ball our customers to get a moving job that's simply just not our goal in the moving industry. We did send out a second crew of 2 men free of charge in a truck to your location to assemble anything that wasn't assembled. Some time was spent on the bed with the stripped screws, situations such as those are non-predictable on our end. As far as the ping pong table, upon arriving to repair there was no damage, seeing the ping pong table in its functionable state.

We always try to go above and beyond for our customers, such as being able to accommodate a sooner moving date. We were able to adjust our schedule to accommodate moving you a week sooner than you originally booked.

Seeing as though you were a repeated customer we did also discount some portions of your move before the movers even arrived on moving day. We apologize you feel this way, we feel we did everything in our power to make this move complete for you. We wish you the best of luck in your new home.

Negligent

When moving my 82" QLED TV, they turned is upside down and stood it in the corner to wrap in a blanket. By the time I stopped them, it was too late. It was broken. Since I did not pay for "extra" insurance, they will not pay to cover it. Why would you over stand a 100+ lb tv on the corner. Oure negligence! You shouldn't have to pay for extra insurance (which does not cover anything already packed in boxes), just to feel confident in your service.

Beware

Beware! What an experience! First of all the The owner came to our house to quote our move and quoted about $1600.00 for the move. He underestimated this quote to get the job! That's dirty quoting in my book! The job ended up costing approximately $2500.00!! That is a HUGE difference. And, we had sold 3 rooms of furniture from the time he quoted and the time we moved. You cannot tell me this was not deliberate.

The owner told us that we would need 1 truck with 4 movers. When the movers arrived and saw what was in the garage -- right away said -- we are going to need another truck! And, they were right! . The moving crew called him and we had to wait for over an extra hour another truck to arrive. This was a waste of over $279.00 per hour!!!!

I seriously thought that this was one of the top movers in the city. Well I found out the hard way... I was wrong.

I was told by the office that all items that could not be boxed could be moved in C-bins and would be wrapped by the movers. With that said, I did not wrap our framed art myself. Needless to say - My pictures that were moved in these bins were not wrapped. several of my picture frames were scratched and ruined. When I called to talk to the owner about this he said he would give me .60 per lb. I asked him if he was going to come and weight them..,he said no, I'll send you a check for $20.00!!! Imagine that?? I can't even buy a 1/4 of a single frame for 20.00! I have a minimum of 10 picture frames that are ruined, not to mention some of my mothers china that cannot be replaced and a 3 burner crock pot is crushed and destroyed! And, I am not done unpacking yet!

This was a very costly mistake on my part. I trusted this company...and it was a big mistake on my part.

I would strongly suggest that you check out other movers -- you will be glad you did.

Beware! Of Deb Martin! Any business that may have future dealings with this customer BEWARE!
To any of our potential customers reading this review, please take it with a grain of salt. Please look at Deb M’s history of numerous negative reviews. Our company takes pride in excellent customer service and boasts an A+ rating with the BBB. Please do not let this review sway you away from our company.
Deb M was a nightmare from the first phone call and has continued to be a nightmare. The office manager did NOT want to book the job because Deb’s attitude was so horrible prior to booking. In fact, she used the “F” word and many other profanities over the phone with the office manager and myself (I am the owner) but we reluctantly booked her anyway. Bad idea!
She neglects to say that we came in UNDER estimate! We estimated 8-12 hours to complete this job. We came in at 11 hours which was actually under estimate. She also neglects to state in her negative review that we refunded her $80.00 plus dispatched an additional man and an additional truck for no extra charges. She sates that she waited over 1 hour for an additional truck, this is false, according to our GPS it took 20 minutes for the free second truck to arrive, and we had men still working at her home while they were waiting for the second truck. She complained about a $5.00 roll of tape which we refunded her as well. We are sorry about the damage to her picture frames (we looked at the pictures there was one scratch). She should have wrapped or packed her picture frames. Regarding the crock pot and the china, this is the first time we are hearing about this damage. These items were packed by Deb and we have no way of knowing how she packed her boxes.
We bent over backwards to appease this customer knowing full well no matter how perfectly well the move would go that she would be a PROBLEM. She is certainly living up to our expectations. BEWARE!

Multiple location moves.

Three movers, full giant truck, two pick up locations and one drop off for a full day of moving. Hard working on a warm day with multiple heavy pieces of furniture and some reassembled furniture while all the pieces were no worse for the wear other than the expected minor rub spots. Their estimates are close enough to trust and their effort is top-notch. These guys work hard and take good care of your goods, highly recommend!

Worcester Moving Company.

Dave Caron, the owner, came and did a in-home estimate for us, which gave us the exact price of the move. They arrived on time, were very professional, and were competitively priced. All of our belongings arrived safely. I have move a few times in the last 10 years and they were by far the best moving company to deal with.
