Monster Movers.

I hired this company to move me out of a house and I to an apartment. When the movers arrived I knew there would be a problem. I was sent 2 young men how was not ready to work. They took 4 hours to load not even half the house into the truck. They did not disassemble anything as was started in my intake. They then proceeded to the new place while I went to get more money that I did not have because they were taking their sweet time. As I drive to the new location I spotted them parked up by a liquor store, when I called they said they were just getting a drink. I took them 25 minutes to arrive to a place that was just 5 minutes away. Not only was there still furniture along with other belongs at the old house they left my furniture outside at the new place. I had paid them not know that what they had loaded in 4 hours which was not much was scattered all over out side. My living room, 1 bedroom, washer, dryer, etc..left outside. $764 I a single mom of 2 already devastated by the move because the owner of the home also took my money and never paid the mortgage was now also being disadvantaged by MONSTER MOVERS OUT IF BOYLSTON, MA. Please help me stop companies like this from doing this to others. Thanks to the help of my boss who rented me a Uhaul and strangers who were later compensated my furniture finally made it to the apartment. I will be taking legal action but just want to warn others. This was very unprofessional and the manager there felt that it was acceptable. No one should be paying this kind of money for bad service.

Long-distance move from Florida to Massachusetts

Great Moving Service FL to MA.

I recently moved to a house near my school campus and I hired Monster Movers  to help me move my belongings from the apartment I was staying at to my new living space. The apartment I used to live in was a furnished apartment, so I didn’t have to provide my own bed or nightstand or desk. Since the room in the house I’m currently staying at was unfurnished, I had to provide and bring such things along with me. More things to furnish my bedroom meant it would be more of a hassle to move and no one to really help me settle in. The day I was moving in, Monster Movers were on time and they made sure that none of my belongings were missing. I knew I could trust them with my belongings, and they reassured me customer satisfaction. They treated all of my belongings with delicacy and werevery professional. When the time comes I have to move out of my current living space I’ll definitely give Monster Movers a great review.

A complete nightmare!!

This moving experience was a complete nightmare! Local move, 1st floor, 1 bedroom apartment. I had already moved ALL of my clothing and electronics on my own. Most of my stuff was going in storage (provided by them). To begin with, they showed up a day later than I booked, which wasted a whole day for me. Offered $50 off and a third guy for the next day, which would have worked out except all 3 guys that showed up the next day (no uniforms, all very young, in an Enterprise truck) kept disappearing into the truck (the back, the cab) for smoke breaks, personal phone calls, one had a friend actually swing by. All 3 guys complained the whole time about the heat (it was 72). It took 3 guys 4 hours to load the very little stuff I had. My 65 year old mother and I could have done it faster. They stopped for lunch on my time (during which I had time to go to the new place, shower, have lunch..) All in all I was charged for 9 hours with 3 guys (quoted 4 hours with 2 guys). I was also charged 4x what I was quoted for the storage unit. I was not allowed to follow the guys back to the storage facility to oversee my things being put away, and had no choice in which or what size unit they put me into.. They forced me into a 10x15 unit (huge!!). Again, I was coming from a small (700sq) 1 bedroom apt, 2 weeks later I moved my things to a 5x15 unit with shorter ceilings and I have room to spare. When I called to complain about the service I received, I got 2 sentences in before the OWNER himself started swearing and screaming at me. Among the obscenities that were said to me: "If you want to be f**ing sarcastic, I can be f**ing sarcastic!" - this was the response when I expressed surprise over the size of the unit they made me get, again, the OWNER. He also told me that he had "taken a few psychology courses and knew I was obviously upset over something besides the move", when I told him I would be removing my things he tried to apologize by telling me I was "too emotional and should have waited to call until I was rational about the situation" (please understand I didn't get emotional until I was screamed at and swore at by someone who had possession of most of my belongings, and even then it was just me bursting into tears). He also admitted at this point that he knew that I would have fit in a smaller storage unit.As I said, 2 weeks later I removed my items to a different storage unit eating the cost of yet another rental truck and more storage fees. When I arrived to collect my items from my storage unit with this company, not only did my belongings only fill 1/3 of the unit they made me use, but they had someone else's things in my unit!! There was a grill, several mattresses, a couple bureaus, bookcases all of which did not belong to me!! This means someone else had access to my things, as well as I had access to theirs. This whole experience has been a complete nightmare, reducing me to tears several times. Additionally, this company claims to have an A rating with the BBB on their website, but not only is that not true, they aren't even accredited anymore! Total experience.

We had a different moving Company that canceled our local move as their truck broke down and they weren't sure if they could make it to our place. I called my cousin and he recommended this company that helped him with a move with a very short notice. I did call them and they did schedule the move for the next day. I guess everything that happens - happens from a reason because this company's crew was fantastic. They were very polite and respectful. I'm thankful for the work they've done for me and my family. I thought they may charge me more than expected because it was a last minute move and I didn't have a chance to get everything in writing. The crew came in a large moving truck and at first I was nervous because there were only 2 movers but they gave it their best college effort and did the move faster than my last company said it would take 3 men. I will recommend Monster Moving in the future because of their great crew and they are honest. Thanks, Ron.

Moving Review Monster Movers.

I would recommend Monster Movers to my own parents.  That's how great they were with a $3,100 one bedroom apartment move across the country.  Our stuff traveled more than 2,700 miles and not one item was broken, severely damaged, or lost.  Amazing!
My Monster Movers experience first began with a phone call with Charles.  I had some basic questions and he was friendly and helpful.  A few days later, Ilan D. came to our apartment with his laptop handy and made a quick assessment/inventory list of our belongings.  The guy from a company that contracts with North American was a bit annoying and pushy, so we are glad we went with Monster Movers instead.  Ilan immediately emailed us a flat rate/not-to-exceed estimate which we accepted and signed a few days later.
Delivery was fine.  It was three young muscle guys who worked fast.  I feel like the delivery guys had an easier time because they don't have to be as careful putting together the furniture as the guys who take it apart.  The guys who take it apart upon pick up have to spend a lot of time wrapping the furniture pieces and not lose little screws and bolts.
Our total move cost was approximately $3,100.  It was approximately $400 over the original estimate because we used a few extra weeks of storage.
Tips for moving:
Have several companies do an in-house estimate.
Finish your packing before the movers arrive.  They told me that we would be surprised by how many people aren't finished packing their stuff when they arrive to take it away.  It took me much longer than I thought.
If you're doing a self pack like we did, make your own labeling system and keep a list of all the boxes and their contents handy upon pick up and delivery.  Check off boxes/furniture items as they arrive at your new place.  That way when the delivery guys are done, you can say, "Thanks, we have all our stuff" fairly quickly.
Have cold water bottles, gatorade, packaged snacks, etc. ready for the movers.  It doesn't cost much and they usually appreciate the gesture.

Crooked Company, court judgement unpaid.

I hired MM In 2004 for a local move. I was pressured to buy damage insurance, which I did. Two items were damaged. I submitted for reimbursement and was ignored. After 2 years of phone calls, registered letters, help from the state attorney general and Better Business Bureau, I took the company to small claims court in 2006 and won the case. To day, with further negotiations from the BBB, I still have not been paid the judgment.

Other clearly have had similar experiences. Stay away from this company.

Long-distance move from Massachusetts to New York

Never use this company!

I had a terrible experience with this company. It started when they came late and then started to complain that we have too many things, not the way their boss estimated. Well, even if it was true I don't think they were supposed to comment about that, after all, we were moving from a big house where 5 people lived for 6 years. The estimate was for 10 hours moving from MA to NY. And the agreement was that even if they will not be done in time they will not charge more than 10%. Well, instead of 10 hours it took two days, I had to pay for the movers' stay over night. As a result I had to pay 60% more than initial estimate. Also I had to help them to unload the truck to move things along. Otherwise it would take three more hours to unload. There were many arguments and their boss was very rude. And after all, they said they would not accept my credit card and I had to go to the bank and withdraw cash, and they were keeping the piano as a collateral..I moved many times in my life but this was the most stressful experience ever. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Please stay away from Monster Movers of Worcester.

Monster Movers Massachusetts.

I booked Monster Movers for a move for my mother from her house in Newton MA to an assisted living facility in Lexington MA. My mother moved in her house in Newton 25 years ago and was really nervous to move.  The crew that came in was extremely sesitive to her condition and treated her with kid gloves. The crew even brought a piano to my house in Bedford for free which was a huge bonus.   They protected the floors with a wrap so they wouldn't get scratched and padded and wrapped all of the furniture.  The trucks were brand new, clean and safe.  One thing that really set these movers apart was their safety techniques.  They have a plan and a system for everything that happened.  They even had little safety vests to back up the truck.  We tipped the crew $50 each because they were so good.  .

Overall moving experience.

This is not a reputable company!  First, they were 2 hours late.  They didn't have a big enough truck for our furniture and they had no equipment, except blankets and a dolly.  They didn't even have straps for the furniture - they used packing tape, which they charged us for!  They called for a second truck, which they charged us for! It was a same day move, as we stayed in town.  Every piece of my furniture is damaged in some way.  There are scratches, gouches, and paint transfers on them.  The keyboard door on my desk is broken off.  They claimed they couldn't compensate us since it wasn't  'real wood'. Upon unpacking I found a box of dishes which had broken items.  Not just broken in half, but smashed.  I couldn't even seperate the pieces from the packing material.  It had been clearly dropped, although marked FRAGILE. On top of all this, they charged our credit card $200 more than what we agreed upon when they left.  We did get it back, though it took some time. My husband loaned them his dolly and a few days later he couldn't find it.  Lo and behold it was at the company, who also had my table leaf, but never called to let us know.  We have moved several times and have never experienced such poor service!  We paid $350 over the quote, received damaged furniture, and broken dishes. I do not recommend this company.    .
