Total Care Moving

We are moving from Brampton to Halifax. We had signed on with Total Care and paid the deposit. June 3rd we get an email saying their truck could not get in to NS and was actually turned back. Therefore, they were canceling all East coast moves! Strange thing is, if you go on the NS government website, it is very clear that they consider movers to be essential workers and they will not be stopped at provincial border!! I know for a fact moving trucks are going through to NS without any problems, so what is the REAL reason??

Pretty hard to find a long distance mover in 3 weeks! Since we rent here in Brampton, we have no choice we must be out June 30th. The question now is ‘How?’ Of course there is also that other little question of, ‘Where are we going to live?’

The term ‘unprofessional’ is not a strong enough word for this company! Don’t trust them!

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $4500

Let talk about ‘Total Care Moving’…on July 2nd we completed a move from a 2 bed/bath condo to a detached home 15 minutes away. We selected this company due to its 4+ star rating, so I urge you to not fall into the same trap as us and am trying to help you by providing this review. I am going to try and summarize the issues we faced:

1. They broke dozens of items and are not responsible for these items because it ‘wasn’t packed by them’ and their ‘insurance won’t cover it’

2. They offer to disassemble furniture to move it – but then ask to borrow OUR tools to disassemble them as they don’t have tools themselves – you also pay by the hour for this service or risk your furniture getting damaged ‘in transit’…

3. While assisting them in loading the truck, I witnessed the driver smoking in the back of the truck filled with all our stuff while we paid them by the hour

4. Mid-move - their truck broke down and wouldn’t start due to ‘known issues’ – extending our move by ~2 hours which we had to escalate to get the time removed from the invoice as the team lied to their management about what time the truck broke down

5. When they arrive, they will then extract full payment from you BEFORE they even open the truck doors – in a moment where there was a two-hour, company delay – they want payment upfront, extorting you before unloading…of course its in the ‘fine print’…

6. They unloaded in a thunderstorm – and of course had no boot slips to protect our floors and carpets from all the mud and dirt they trudged through every inch of our new home. When I escalated to their management I was told “its unsafe to have boot slips due to the grip”, yes, I am sure that their worn-out RUNNING shoes provided a safe environment for them instead of work boots…#WSIB…

7. I assisted in loading and unloading all of our stuff to try and reduce the move time, however, this still prevented them from completing their job in the quoted timelines by ~2 hours

8. Upon unloading, they offered to ‘assemble’ all of our furniture again, using my tools of course, and charging us for the additional time to assemble the furniture, I politely declined their ‘gracious’ offer

A 4-5 hour quote turned into a 10 hour stress-inducing journey. I am a pragmatic individual so I sent multiple emails to our move coordinator, Jenna, to solicit her assistance in dealing with this negative experience and she indicated that she would ‘escalate to her management’ but they ‘are very busy and may not respond right away’. Unfortunately, we are ALL busy and as customers we are taking time out of our own hectic lives to deal with the negative repercussions of your company’s service. Its been two weeks and I have received no reply, no compensation and no peace of mind for this negative experience.

Do not use this moving company – find a company who actually ‘Cares’…

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1300

Let me ease your mind about Total care Moving from the first initial inquiry with Sarah to the moving crew I have never worked with a better group of people during my moving process. They were professional, courteous and caring at all times. They always kept me informed and Sarah made herself fully assessable at all times. She was very patient when answering all of my questions and concerns I really appreciate how comfortable she made me feel. They made my move from Ottawa to Toronto a pleasure. All my belongs arrived in perfect condition. Everything was done on time and schedule and within the cost estimated at the start of the job.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1800

Had to give 1 star - should have -5 or lower!

These guys are total rip-off merchants. They damaged, broke, scratched, or dented almost every item of ours. They sold us on the idea that our belongings would safely remain in the same truck they left our driveway in, but the contents had been 'cross-docked' and consolidated into a full-size transport trailer, much too big for our driveway. They then damaged much of our landscaping and had to pay a neighbour to bring a team of 5 plus heavy equipment to get their truck out, causing lots of damage. Then we were told to submit an insurance claim and THEY would decide if it was applicable - nothing since. Our lawyer has investigated, and they are essentially a numbered company using leased vehicles, hourly paid drivers etc. so not a legitimate company. If you get ripped off by this bunch, my advice is to do what we are in the process of (they are hoping we've just forgotten about it of course). We have prepared a 'small claims file' in the Nova Scotia court system. This allows for claims up to $35000, and given the pain and suffering plus the damage and losses incurred, we have been able to get the total to almost exactly that. On top of that we have other people's items here - the driver and helper, when told, just shrugged. They didn't care. Lastly, the driver could not really drive - he couldn't reverse - he drove up an ATV track to try to turn, missing a suitable road enroute, and then he got the rig badly stuck in our driveway. It took an experienced drive from down the road to show him how, with the help of a large excavator.

Move size: 4+ Bedroom Home Service cost: $10000

We had to move into our grandma’s house after the mortgage on our property went wrong. We had to go to another state. We quickly hired Total Care Moving because their prices are the lowest in the market. Our first experience was horrible with the movers. So we were nervous. But, these guys were on time, didn’t damage anything and the rate was exactly what was quoted. They wrapped, packed and loaded everything within a very reasonable amount of time. The moving staff was friendly and did an outstanding job from beginning to end.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $4630

I am a parent on one side of the province, that had to arrange my son’s (who is on the other side of the province) move to a whole other province, while in absentia, of course . Total Care Moving made this a breeze. No, really - Sarah Young was an absolute dream - not only was she first to reply from MANY estimates, they were the best price. Does this affect quality? Heck no - Sarah’s communication was beyond exceptional. So prompt with replies to my many, many other questions (sorry Sarah!)

It was actually incredibly pleasant! She is a joy to communicate with - she’s witty and sweet, just fantastic at her job. While this will be hearsay (I wasn’t there- but my spawn was and I trust him) the crew of movers were also incredible. Super professional, excellent communication, the whole thing was so seamless! For his next move, he won’t even consider another company. Total Care has 100% exceeded our expectations. We could not be more satisfied. Thank you to all of you! Please know that you are SO appreciated. 13/10 will definitely hire again.

Please save your time and money, one biggest mistake i made it to use Totalcare moving, this company name is a big sc@m, the only things they care is your money. They treat customers like garbage after they got the deposit and have lack of integrity while dealing with customers.

They used a lot of contractors during all my moving process, please stay away and find real professional and respectful moving company that respect customers.

We agreed to move one week before after we paid the deposit, 6 days later they said there is No Truck available for us. we have to postpone our moving. After they gave us 1 hour notice and said the truck will be here in one hour, not a 24 hour notice they promised. They said we will get discount for the disagreement.

Later some Randoms Movers shows up at my Address, and they told me they saw an add on Kijiji to come to help move my stuff, one of them was smelling Alcohol or was on Drug, he was totally High, I ask him if he works for Total Care moving, He said they put an Add on Kijiji this morning to come to move my stuff.

7.) However the Bill was totally differed of what they told you on the Quote, they said they charged by weight when you booked with them, after you will be surprise they Added many Others Hidden Fees, when you asked them what are these fees , they can't and wont answer , the only things they said it is on the Bills.

9.) when you ask for the discount they promised, One of their Boss/or Dispatcher with this number (647-740-6587) called me and started yelling at me and threat me and started insulting me.

He said I am a Nigger, I am a Fucking Nigger, and they won't be any discount for a Fucking a Motherfuck of Nigger like me. I was Shocked of what he was saying, He keep going and yelling this insane words, I put him on speaker so the Truck Driver who is also Black can listen, what he was saying,

He was keep yelling, MotherFuck of Nigger", you want a Discount, you want to put a bad review, Nigger, Nigger MotherFuck of Nigger, Nigger...and he keep swearing and yelling Insane words for almost 3 minutes. We remained calmed and did not say anything but we were totally in shocked and disoriented. I am the one who paying you, at least show some respect.

10) We then reported this incident to the Accountant, Amanda and the first thing she said is How are going to pay ? I told her I have already paid and after she said this guy is not working with them, she said she doesn't know him, No Apologies for These words, she keep denying, And finally she admitted and said It is one of the Dispatcher of their Company.

Please stay away from those Guys , They are Fake , they doesn't have their own mover, they are unprofessional, they hired last minute drivers or contractor on Kijiji, they totally disrespect customers, and treat them like a garbage, they threat them yelling at them with Racist Words.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3300

The service was great, Sarah was very helpful and polite. I booked my move but I needed to cancel 3 weeks before the move. I had paid a $200 deposit by e-transfer. I co tasted Sarah to cancel and she emailed me confirmation that I would receive a refund from them. After waiting a week for the refund, I called Sarah but she was “out of the office for family matters”. I spoke with another rep that assured me Sarah would be back and help me. It’s now 6 weeks later. I have not received a refund. I have called and emailed numerous times and they never answer or reply to my email. They stole my $200 deposit. Total Criminal Moving should be their company name.

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $200

We had a really bad experience with Total Care Movers. They were not reliable, honest or professional. We had to file a complaint with the Ministry of Consumer and Corporate Affairs, as both Jenna and Mike, the driver, have totally care-less attitudes!

Our "fragile" marked boxes were unloaded upside-down, with heavy items placed on top, most of our Tupperware containers were caved in, our microwave stand was damaged, as were walls that were run into with furniture. Our son's TV stand and dolly were loaded on the truck but were neglected to be unloaded.

We were told there would be a crew in NB to help unload, and only Mike, the driver, came with one inexperienced kid, who didn't understand English, and was barely audible. They put our furniture wherever they felt like leaving it, as it took them 10 hours to unload. Mike was very stressed and he turned into a real jerk by the end of the day.

After a month of numerous attempts to recover our missing things, and to be compensated for damages, Jenna just lied to us and kept telling us that management would look into it! She refused to divulge any information about the company, or names of management. I discovered that there is no one other than Jenna who is in charge of running this unprofessional team of TOTAL CARELESS MOVERS! I am continually posting on every social media site I come across, making people aware of these scammers.

Move size: 4+ Bedroom Home Service cost: $12000

I'm only posting this because the level of service exceeded my expectations. I moved from Ontario to NS and had a lot of stuff to move. Looking at all the quotes I got from other companies I settled on Total Care as they were responsive and cost effective. I made sure to read everything and when it was time to pay, everything matched up. Sure it was a bit over but I expected that as I did move a lot. The movers were kind and efficient and made sure that the items were loaded with care. The offload was nice and simple and there was only minor damage that I would expect even if I handled the items.

All in all a good experience that saved me a lot of money and hassle.

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction and frustration with the services provided by Total care movings in handling my recent relocation. It has been an agonizing three months since I entrusted your company with the task of moving my belongings, and yet I am still without my possessions.

The lack of professionalism and incompetence displayed by your company throughout this ordeal is nothing short of appalling. Despite numerous assurances and promises of timely delivery, my belongings have not materialized, leaving me in a state of distress and uncertainty.

Not only have I been inconvenienced by the prolonged delay, but the emotional and financial toll of being without my essential items for such an extended period is beyond measure. Your failure to fulfill your contractual obligations has caused significant hardship and upheaval in my life.

Furthermore, the disregard for customer communication and transparency is utterly unacceptable. Despite my repeated attempts to seek clarification and updates on the status of my shipment, I have been met with silence and indifference from your company.

It is evident that total care moving has demonstrated a complete disregard for customer satisfaction and basic decency. I am left with no choice but to caution others against entrusting their belongings to your company. The level of incompetence and unprofessionalism displayed throughout this experience is simply unforgivable.

In conclusion, I demand immediate action to rectify this situation, including the prompt delivery of my belongings or a full refund of the amount paid for your services. Additionally, I implore you to take a long, hard look at your business practices and consider the profound impact of your actions on your customers.

I will be pursuing all available avenues to seek redress for the gross negligence and incompetence exhibited by take care moving . Let this serve as a warning to others contemplating utilizing your services: steer clear of take care moving unless you are prepared to endure the same ordeal I have endured.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1696

Moving from Ontario to New Brunswick. Agreed on a quote with Jenna , she told me were entitled to a $375 discount if agreed on that day before noon , it was. Never honoured the discount at the end. Instead of taking the agreed 3 days to get out there , it took over 2 weeks. Damaged and missing items. Everything was loaded onto another trailer which they claim they dont do. Jenna just ignored all my texts and emails when confronting her on this. PLEASE DONT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! You will regret it. And Im sure all the positive reviews are written by them and family and friends.
