Long-distance move from Georgia to Arkansas

Easy moving experience.

Me and my family recently used Summit vanlines for our move.Wewere reffered to use them by a family friend we have known for a long time.We contacted our sales represntative which was easy and fast to get a precise quote. He explained the quote with perfect precision so I was quite impressed and decided to use them.On the move date our crew shows up all in proper attire and looking very proffessional. We had them provide us with a full service job.All our items were packed professionally at the price we agreed to on the quote. We received all our items three days later in good condition. The guy brought all our stuff up two floors at no additional cost which is a plus.I will definitely return the favor and reccomend them to my other friends and family.

Long-distance move from Tennessee to Washington

Worst experience ever!!

We had a contract to move from Memphis, TN to Silverdale, WA on 08/17/2013.  First they made us pay 50% which I found out you should not pay anything until you items are received. I called twice during the week of 8/26 and was told by Roxanna to call back the next week to find out information.  Well I called back two weeks straight and left voice mails and could not get any information.  I then called another number I found online and spoke to Charlie in dispatch and he said that he didn't know anything there were no notes this was the 2nd week in September.  My husband then called everyday day multiple times a day and we finally got that the items hadn't yet left Memphis.  He then stated that our delivery would be the week of 9/18/2013.  The driver finally called us on September 15 and states that he will be there on the next day at 4 pm and that we had a balance due of $2021 which was $750 above our balance and he couldn't tell us why it was so much.  We called everyone for 24 hours and no one could help us then Yosel a representative gave us the Customer service manager number Jenifer 954-712-4321.  She was the rudest customer service manager I have ever met.  They didn't have the contract but could tell me that $350 charge for packing when everything was pack.  Finally when I asked to speak to the manager of the manager someone wanted to help me.  They charge me 200 for mattress covers that I bought myself and put on myself before they even came.  They charge for 2 TV boxes when they were included with the move.  They then charge $75 for tape that they used to tape their own blankets on the furniture that  was supposed to be included in the move.  They charge $100 to wrap the sofa when it was supposed to be included.  The driver lied and said there was no coupon given when it was clearly written that it was on the paperwork and he didn't want to redeem it.  My husband who is active duty got to leave work early which was a big deal and myself left work early because the driver said he would be here on 9/16 between 2-4pm.  Well after we were already home waiting he called after the time scheduled and said the truck broke down.  The contract said 28 days and that was the 28th day. The driver said he should only be a little while down and would be there in the morning.  Again no show, that's 2 days of missed work.  He then scheduled for 2 pm on Wednesday September 18 we called and called and he kept saying 20 minutes.  He didn't show until 11:30 pm at night.  We have a noise ordinance that stops at 10 pm.  We give them the remaining balance and then they tell my husband that we have to pay $75 per flight of stairs when I say in our contract no extra charge for stairs. He then pulls out another company's paper for some other delivery and says it's just like this.  That had nothing to do with us or our delivery He wouldn't unload the truck. I tried to call the company but it was after hours and no one would answer.  I have to go to the ATM at almost 1 AM to get $150 to pay for them to give us our furniture and bring it in my apartment. The absolute worse experience of my life.

Long-distance move from New York to Texas

Very Highly NOT recommending Summit or Aone Vanlines.

Never ever hire Summit Vanlines or (Aone Vanlines) for moving, they simply suck every drop of your blood with collaboration of Aone Vanlines. Agreed to pay by weight $.55 cents for pound with Summit, but ended up paying (double) high price of $3.85 per cubic feet. Since they don't have office in NY, they subcontracted my move to Aone Vanlines. Aone doesn't care abt Summit and they will show very high  professionalism in every step of the way to suck every penny out of u in terms of packing, tape, bubble wrap, boxes, assembly, lifting, estimating, fuel, moving, storage and finally tips. The movers will keep the items in storage and combine your items with some others until it is filled in trailer and hire a company who can take oall items for cheaper price. Self moving is the BEST option.

Long-distance move from Florida to North Carolina

Do NOT do business with this company!

My wife and I used this company when we had a job relocation from Florida to North Carolina. We had them pack, and move everything.
The problems encountered are so bad, the rival most any poor experience I have had with a company in the 15 years I have been in business.
First of all, almost all the expectations set by the salesman were false. We found out that all the language in the contracts were contrary to what the salesperson explained on almost every point. It was designed to ensure we had no recourse of action to get money back after the fact.
Example 1: We were told the basic insurance would cover $.60 on each item. Example, if a TV cost $1000 new and they damaged it, we would receive $600 back. So when our $2,500 mattress was completely destroyed, after going through the claim, we received only the weight of the mattress, which resulted in a $35 reimbursement!
Example 2: We were told that the estimate was very high on the weight, but that the company would always weigh the truck and then discount us after the fact. To the contrary, when we called to find out the weight difference afterwards, they told us that our contract said we didn't have that option.

This was just a few examples. Movers showed up drunk, were rude, and they had hired local staff even though they advertise that all employees work for them. That was false.
After a very horrible experience on almost every level, the company refused to respond to our complaint. We spoke to the same woman over and over and she promised a call back, and after weeks or months, she would act as if she didn't know who we were.

The customer service is horrible. They don't treat you as a human in trouble. It is quite honestly the most horrible company I have ever ever, ever worked with on every level.
Do not do them the favor of doing business with them. You will stand a high chance of being equally disappointed. .

Long-distance move from Florida to North Carolina

Inadequate delivery men and broken/ lost TV. Poor communication.

Expected movers early a.m., they showed up late afternoon. We received a call from the office saying there was a truck breakdown.   Packers just happened to mention they were called in on a day off, so we don't know the real situation.    However they packed us up and loaded the truck leaving after 10:00pm.  The packers were 3 nice clean young men who appeared to know what they were doing.     Our furniture was to go into storage in Fort Lauderdale for 3 months.  The day after the move I received a phone message that there was damage,  I called back and the woman said oh No that call was an error.  Everything was fine.  Hmm?   Furniture was delivered on schedule, they showed up bright and early. Good start.  I looked around for the people who would unload the truck. The driver said he and the elderly man with him they would do it all. It was quickly apparent the older man knew little to nothing about moving furniture!   To be truthful, not mean, both men were obese and having difficulty moving and breathing. One man told us he was 70.  I understand about age discrimination but these men were not fit to do the job!!  They brought the furniture into the garage and expected to leave it there.  Not what we paid for!!    They also expected my husband to help carry it.   He started to help but I refused to let him continue.  We took the paid mover route because we knew we were no longer capable to do it. If he continued to help  he would be suffering for weeks.  When our things were unloaded the truck was to continue to other deliveries.     However our big screen Sony TV was not there. The driver explained that it was customary for him to be present for the loading.  However he had been called in to drive so the truck had been loaded by others earlier.  So these elderly men had to climb around inside looking for the TV.    Never found it  and said they had to go.  We should call Ft. Lauderale on Monday.  What? One man left  with one of my good forks that I had lent him.   Oh, we fed and watered them breakfast and lunch!!  I called Summit on monday to report the missing TV.    Oh, the men were mistaken it wasn't lost it was broken while in storage!    By the next day the story was that the storage area had been broken into and it was stolen.   So the moving company supposedly reported to their insurance to be reimbursed but I had to file a claim with the extra insurance they sold me!   And it was $1,000 deductible.   The TV was $1,000!!     Very sneaky  There was damage to chairs, missing boxes, but most frustrating were the lies about the TV etc.     They kept telling not to worry I had insurance and to just call this number to start the process. So I did and that company said they no longer provided ins. to Summit.  Yikes.  Called Summit again and they nonchalantly gave me another number to call. That's when I found out about the deductible.  We had purchased the 'full value' replacement insurance at 10 pm from the packers as they advised us to do so when we completed paperwork just before they left.  The Summit staff could be very chatty and friendly however when there was a problem they were hostile.  The lies rolled off their tongues.    I would not recommend them.      .

Long-distance move from Florida to New York

Highly Recomended.

I recently moved from Miami Beach to NYC. A friend of mine refered me to Summit Van Lines. Once calling I was offered with a free onsite service Sammy the onsite estimator came by and provided me with a binding quote free of charge. On move date 3 movers showed up on time they were friendly and professional they took their time to wrap up my items with great care. On delivery in NYC the movers had an insurance certification with them for the building they brought up my stuff to the 15th floor they unwrapped everything and placed all my items at their place. The price that was quoted was the price that I paid not a penny extra. Thank you Summit for a great moving expreience.    .

Local move within Florida

I got ripped off.

Consumers and Carriers Beware, Summit Van Lines is a Scam Operated by Ofer Gazit and Guy Shoshan, do not let the name Summit Van Lines fool you, they are no different than the local rogue company. Summit Van Lines and their associates are nothing but a bunch of Lying thieves. I have complaint to the BBB regarding their practices and they responded with nothing but lies! Not only did they defraud my company by $1020 but they have also charged for cubic feet that wasn’t correct, and damaged all of our customers furniture at the time of delivery. They also refuse to pay for damages to the customer and return all federal contract back to my company, I have also heard from other moving companies they have been a victim of their so call Credit refund and lack of original contract being send back to the originating carrier. Employees working for Summit Van Lines have also come forward regarding their pay being cheated and not being told prior that they made a mistake in some case some of their labor workers came forward and told me that when Guy Shoshan was confronted of the pay error that they made an excused that they damaged something or that they didn’t work the hours etc. the list goes on. A company like Summit Van Lines should be under investigation by Immigration, Labor department and other federal departments regarding their business practice. I have already launch several complaints to federal and local authorities regarding their business practice along with affidavit sworn testimonials of prior employees that have had issues along with prior carriers that they have defrauded. STAY AWAY FROM SUMMIT VAN LINES. DO NOT BE THEIR NEXT VICTIM. .

Long-distance move from Indiana to Florida

Horrible.

Do not use this company! It is a nightmare! Showed up late, kept asking me if I wanted all our stuff packed, complained that we had so much stuff, took 14 hours to pack a normal three bedroom house, and still had to have another truck come to get our mattresses. Took over two weeks to get from Indiana to Florida. They were late, many things were broken, threw things in boxes, did not fully unpack like they said, took 12 hours to unload, put beds together wrong, and am still wondering what system they used to pack.

Long-distance move from Tennessee to Nevada

Worst moving company.

This is the worst moving company to use. The movers stole and lost many of my property. They also kept up coming up with charges and ended up making the move not worth it. They stole a box of shoes, lost my dresser mirror and broke most of my furniture. I am just thankful I did not transport my car with them given how badly damaged my things were. They would probably have stolen my car and claim it was lost. They came late and unexpectedly, and the movers were very rude and arrogant. Their insurance is worth nothing. Get your own insurance if you need one. I would not recommend this company. .

Long-distance move from Alabama to Texas

Do Not Ever Use This Company.

Summit Van Lines is a TOTAL SCAM!  DO NOT EVER USE THEM!! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!   They moved me in March, 2012.   August 13, 2014 - I found out that they FORGED MY SIGNATURE on a "Release Agreement" that said "I would agree to remove any negative reviews posted by me or on my behalf.. and for the consideration of an account credit of $100 in good faith"   Seriously?  It is dated 3 days after they picked up my furniture and states "WHEREAS, disputes and differences have arisen between the parties.."   THIS COMPANY IS ONE OF THE MOST CROOKED AND DISGUSTING COMPANIES I HAVE EVER DONE BUSINESS WITH!!     Unfortunately, I used this company to move me from Alabama to Texas in March, 2012.   The entire moving experience with them was a complete nightmare. They showed up a day late due to "truck issues" and then when they did show up, they were in a rented Budget truck.   They took over 3 weeks to deliver my furniture and when they did deliver it, there was only one man to unload me - so needless to say, he did not put any of my furniture back together as per my contract.  The estimated charge ended up being nearly DOUBLE what they quoted me and would only take cash and threatened to leave with my stuff and take it  to Florida for storage if I did not pay IN FULL before unloading.   The boxes were crushed, torn and numerous items were broken.
