      EXCELLENT CHOICE from FL to GA

      The SML teams for our loading and unloading were on time, courteous, knew what they were doing, worked efficiently, and got the job done within the time allotted.They were careful and loaded our belongings in a manner that resulted in no damage. I worked for a major van line in a previous life. These packers are trained to take advantage of every cubic inch - no wasted space was allowed! I was impressed!

      Long distance move from Simi Valley, CA to Castle Rock, CO

      At both ends of my move from Simi Valley, CA to Castle Rock, CO SML provided hard working laborers. They did not waste my time. From when they showed up to when the job was completed, they stayed focused on their job to get us packed and unpacked end to end. They did both ends within a 2hr minimum so that we would not have to pay the extra hourly rate. They were all respectful and polite and treated our furniture with respect. I used them at the front end and was very pleased, so at the other end I chose SML and was not disappointed.

      Moving by SML across country

      SML did a fantastic job in loading our pod. They were on time, loaded items quickly and efficiently as possible. They finished the job as planned and did a very good job. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs assistance with loading a container and definitely use their service again.

      SML 2-man crew in Gulfport, MS

      They were on time and completed the job in the 2-hours I'd allotted. Plus, I had asked when I booked the job that they set up my queen size bed, as I live alone and not able to do that task alone. They did it for me, and did a great job, overall.

      Horrible experience

      Arrived 3 hours late. Took 7 and a half hours to pack the truck (1600 sq ft home) as they are constantly chatting on the phone or with each other (remember you pay by the hour). Only when you walk in the room do they go back to work. Then took 2 and a half hours to to drive the 35 min trip. Stopped for dinner which is fine but then charge you for the time. Got to the house and provided me with their new estimate which was 1k more and refused to unload the truck unless I paid up front which wasted another hour. They did not pack the attic or garage in the old house because they ran out of space even though I sent them photo’s of everything before. When they unpacked they were mishandling our stuff. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

      Move to Chicago

      We used SML to help us unload a self-move from Texas to Chicago. On the plus side, guys arrived early, unloaded a small apartment's worth of furniture and took it up 3 flights of stairs in the summer heat without complaining. We could not have done it without them. It was easy to arrange the service through our truck rental website, which referred us directly to SML.

      Only issue was unavailability of a crew after we had already made and confirmed the arrangements. Apparently mid-August is a very busy time in Chicago. The SML staff worked with us and stayed on top of it until they had found a crew who could help us at the needed time. We did have to pay extra for that, unfortunately, which affected my rating. We also arrived later than the crew because of traffic jams on the freeways when we arrived in town, so there was an extra half-hour charge for that.

      unprofessional

      The sml workers were ghetto, rude, unprofessional with a bad attitude. They were very loud and were more interested in their conversation than they were in doing the job. They have no respect for the clients nor their belongings. Also, I was quoted $179 for 2 workers for 2 hours. Upon checking my account not only was the $179 removed, an extra $110 was also taken. I've tried calling many times to no avail. This company is very dishonest and their workers have no training or respect. I will never use their services again and I'll make sure friends and family know not to use them as well.

      Awful All Around.

      The movers were over an hour late but no one from the company felt it useful to call and explain why. I called six different times, talked to six different morons, and got six, "I will check on that and call you back" answers. Then, after cursing on the phone with a rep, was told to "not use that language" because "it's never acceptable." Seriously? You're going to not give me any answers and then tell me how to speak? Give me a break. Turns out they swapped out a mover and didn't feel like letting us know until I called and demanded information. Then, the movers they sent were useless. I don't think they've ever moved anything before. Save yourself stress and don't hire these idiots.

      Licensed?

      Beware! This business was hired through Penske to do a load swap after our moving truck broke down. We specifically asked if the movers were licensed and bonded. The movers who showed up as well as the employer I spoke with on the telephone said they were. As it turns out, SML's FMCSA operating status was revoked months ago (it is currently September 2014) and is currently listed as "NOT AUTHORIZED" at safer.fmcsa.dot.gov. I am not sure if they can still provide moving labor, but they certainly can't operate your moving vehicle. A second team of movers had to come repack SML's poor packing job, and there is an incredible amount of damage, even to items in hard-sided Tupperware bins. We are awaiting an assessment of damage, but I would guess it will take thousands of dollars and many months to repair or replace items. SML has not returned any of my calls or responded to email. Also, if they are hired to complete your load swap DO NOT sign any forms limiting their liability or job completion until you have spoken to the company who hired them and gotten the go ahead (in our case, Penske). Take a copy or picture of any forms. Be sure to take pictures of the packing periodically…

      Poor Experience - Contact Moving Companies Directly for Better Service.

      I had a very mixed -- but generally poor -- experience with SML ProMovers. My biggest complaint is about the subcontracted ProMovers in Baton Rouge.

      Pick-Up: While I was contacted by SML two days ahead, the subcontracted movers (ABBA Movers) did not call until 9:30pm the night before my 8am move. (I understand this is not SML's fault directly, but since they were the contracting company, the blame also falls on them.) ABBA instructed me that night to bring additional supplies that I was not able to get before the pick-up time of 8am. At pick-up, I had two young movers in sweats who spent a chunk of the spent time on the clock on their phones texting and talking with friends. All but 5 boxes and furniture were ready to go, so this was not downtime, but rather wasted time. This was frustrating as I had to pay for an extra hour since they were not able to get everything in the truck within the three hours allotted. Had I had the requested materials due to proper notice and had the movers not spent so much time on their phones, I believe it would have kept the total time under 3 hours and saved me $95. I have a hard time imagining that they were bonded and insuranced as…

      SML poor packing and poor service.

      Use anyone but these guys.  It appears they contract out the work.  Two "pro movers" were contracted to load a 26 foot Penske truck(Penske performance and service were exceptional).  Movers arrived two hours late, and left after three hours, with the job not completed.  We called SML, and the movers returned an hour later, completing the job.  Good thing they did, because they left all their tools behind when they left the first time.  SML movers failed to adequately utilize the blankets at their disposal, resulting in thousands of dollars of damage to our household goods.  Two weeks later I personally packed another Penske truck, resulting in no damgage for the trip to Phoenix.  We made a claim for damages with SML, and they offered a free movie through Redbox while we waited, a total value of one dollar.  What an insult!  In response, two months later we received a total of $75 dollars for damages.  The damages were solely the result of SML's shoddy packing job.  Buyer beware.  Read the contact.  SML will pay for damages during the loading process and unloading process only, not for damages as a result of their totally inadequate packing.  I am guessing that their business…

Depressing experience.

Look..I can go into detail about our terrible experience with the movers that they choose for us. Or I can tell you how DEPLORABLE the customer experience was. But at the end of the day. IF THEY HIRE BAD MOVERS FOR YOUR JOB THEY WILL MAKE IT YOUR FAULT and YOUR PROBLEM. No negotiations. No customer service. Nothing.

So, if you decide to go with SML. Let the odds be ever in your favor.

Worst Movers Ever.

The movers were late and inefficient. They took small trips and had no respect for labels such as "fragile" let alone distinguishing between bedroom and kitchen. It took them almost 3 hours to unload a 12' Penske truck with my roommate and I making trips as well. DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS in PHILADELPHIA.

Moving from state to state.

I hired movers in both Colorado and Arizona. Both teams showed up early. They came prepared, were fast and showed great concern over my belongings. I would hire these individuals any day of the week. Coordinating through Simple Moving Labor took the stress out of finding qualified movers.

Very Professional.

The staff at SML kept constant contact with me up until the day of the move. On the day of the move they were accessible as well. They would not honor a coupon which I didn't think was fair and their explanation was not valid. I understand the travel fee but they charged me an add/stop fee and the clock never stopped running. The movers were also very professional and friendly. They were quick and thorough.

Excellent job.

I was very pleased with the crew of four who helped me in Atlanta, GA. Justin, Jamal, Bruce and Juan were great. They arrived on time. They worked hard and did a superior job loading our 26' truck. They moved the job along as quickly as possible. The cost ended up being much more than I anticipated, but I could not have done it without them.

Professionals.

I expected furniture carriers, but the guys that SML provided were moving professionals. They knew exactly how to load the truck, tied off everything properly so there would be no shifting and loaded a 16 foot truck in a little over an hour. Very, very pleased with SML.

-Disappointed-Hired to unload truck only.

I did not vet this company well enough before hiring and did not realize the men were not company men but 'independent contractors'. it was not a difficult move, mostly boxes but as a 65 yr old women it was not something I wanted to tackle myself. The unloading of truck took about an hour. furniture included one lazy boy chair, 2 bookshelves and an entertainment center that were the kind you put together yourself and used locking inserts. if a part came detached like during the move, you unlock the insert push the piece back together and then lock again. However these movers decided to just pound the pieces back together even though I told them how to fix. minimal damage. I also had to tell them several times to put all boxes in the dining room and I would redistribute to the other rooms as I go thru them. very disappointed they would not follow instructions. Crew of 2, one mostly answered his phone and could not locate my paperwork so he used a marker (of mine) to black out a previous work order and write in my info. The other man did most of the physical work.

Too Trusting Update.

I guess I was a little to quick to write my review on our move from AL to PA because now the last 2 pieces of furniture that was removed are damaged. It was bad enough the stole from us but now the damage to my furniture is very frustrating. I pride my self taking great care of my property that my husband works hard for, and for someone else to such disregard for others property is very upsetting to me. I believe they must have know what they did you couldn't miss the damage. We did our best to pay attention to their movements but wasn't easy with 3 of them and 2 of us, especially when the 3 were rarely in the same room together. I will not use this company again and will not recommend them which is a loss for them since we moved from an area of a military base. Very disappointed with this moving experience.

Hired 3 movers to unload a fully packed 26' truck, including a piano. They were very professional, careful, and efficient. No items damaged, and all done in 2.5 hours. They even grouped the boxes according to my color-coded labels, as requested. Thanks for saving my back!

Storage Unit Move.

Great communications..packers were going to arrive a bit later than planned but they phoned several times as did the main office.
Efficient and knowledgeable ( the two movers worked well together and explained the process to me ..again , good communication).
Unfortunately some of the emails went to spam mailbox so I was not prepared to provide tie downs. Otherwise a great experience.

This was a local move, so the same crew handled loading and unloading. The two movers showed up exactly on time. They were fast, courteous and professional. The move was entirely problem-free. This is the third SML crew I've dealt with (I had separate load and unload crews when I moved from MN to CO a year ago) and they all went smoothly.

Couldn't have done it without them.

I arranged to have the movers show up at 1:00 and they were there. I boxed all morning, and they worked so well, that I just kept on boxing while they loaded my mornings work. Very efficient and also just nice guys. Finished ahead of my schedule. Total deal, and would absolutely do it again. Money well spent.
