I moved from Michigan to Tennessee 2.5 months ago. I took moving services from Silverback Moving. I was initially skeptical about engaging them. Mr. Jim from the moving compamy worked with me at each stage and made the move very easy for me. My moving dates changed 3 times and they accommodated my request every time without any problem. The team that came to pack and dleiver my good is extremely good, honest and friendly. They packed all of my goods meticulously. Not even a single item was damaged at delivery. The moving cost is very economical and atleast 20% less than other quotes I received from other well known movers. It was a perfect move. I have never experienced such a smooth move. Thanks to Silverback Koving team. I recommended them to my friends as well based on my experience,.

My firm relocated my office from Chicago, Illinois to Grosse Pointe, Michigan early July this year. Our family chose to use Silverback Moving of Chicago, a local agent of Schea Van Lines, to take care of the move.

The office staff in Chicago were extremely helpful. They sent a rep out to inventory our home in Lake Forest the day after we inquired for a quote. Because this was an interstate move from Chicago to Detroit, it is my understanding Schea Van Lines facilitated the haul.

The team the day of was extremely helpful. Properly packed all mirrors and fine art. We were very pleased with the gentlemen that came to the home that day. They were very courteous and assisted with nearly every aspect.
The day of the move in was extremely smooth as well. The team once again was beyond helpful and assisted the family with all things necessary.

I was very impressed with the work of Silverback Moving of Chicago. Schea Van Lines provided great service transporting our shipment from Lake Forest to Grosse Pointe. Glad we chose the correct route!

Our move was only 1.8 miles.  The movers came in and 1 asked to use the bathroom 15 minutes after starting.  He then asked for a plunger (hard to believe, but true).  After the move, the truck was stuck (broken down) on my driveway blocking my car in the garage overnight and was not removed until about 10 am the next morning.  I was guaranteed it would be moved before I awoke the next morning and it wasn't.  I was late to work..it was a disaster!  Futhermore, there was damage from the move on our brand new living room furniture.  We had the movers take pictures to submit and we also sent pictures in.  I have called several times and have had to either leave a message without a call back or spoke to someone who took down the information and then never called back.  Our move was in the end of June and we have still not resolved the issue of the damage. VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE!  .

Salesman lied about fees and charges, job was not finished, fees were changed on contract, final bill was over three times the expected amount, when I tried to contact salesman to dispute what he had quoted me, he was not to be found.  No one would talk to me during the move when I disputed the actions and fees associated with the move, until the movers had packed up and left.  Then the man I spoke to had nothing to say, except that the salesman was just trying to make me happy.  I am not happy and am pursuing any avenue to go after this company. .

The gentlemen that moved my furniture were very nice and professional.  However, once my belongings were in storage I was treated as if I owed them something. I was treated very nicely in order to get my business, but that changed once they had my belongings. The communication between customer and staff was very unacceptable. Calls were not returned as promised charges weren't clearly documented on the invoice nor were they verbally explained.  I was told serveral times by Karen and the head of storage that this is a large company and basically I'm not important. When asked who was the supervisor I was informed by the head of storage that there is no one over hiim as he proceeded to tell me "I'm in West Palm Beach" once again incinuating that I'm not worth his time. I should have researched this company in more depth. Very impersonal, poor customer service. Once I close on my new home and get my things out of storage I will NEVER use this company again nor will I refer them to anyone. I also noticed that they don't have a rating by the BBB but they say they do. My advice choose a smaller company that appreciates their customers!

Last month my family chose Silverback Moving & Storage to relocate our home from Jupiter to Boynton Beach within Florida. The move was smooth and very organized as promised.  They gave us a quote over the phone after I had provided a detailed list of furniture. I was quoted a flat rate of $1,355, which I felt was very fairly priced. I've moved several times in the past, and I've been stuck paying more than was estimated. With Silverback Moving I did not experience this issue. I will use Silverback Moving & Storage again and would refer them to anyone moving in the Boynton Beach or Jupiter area.

I chose to use Silverback Moving and Storage after reviewing a number of companies online. I phoned the office and was assisted by a very friendly staff member named Kelly. Kelly took a very detailed list of exactly what I had and provided useful tips for my family prior to the big move day. After determining exaxctly what was needed for my service, we secured a firm date with a deposit. 
On the actual move date, a staff of three gentlemen arrived as promised in a straight truck designed for moving. They began the service by preparing the home and preparing the pieces that were being shipped. I was very impressed by how prompt and organized they were. They came equipped with the proper tools and the necessary equipment to handle the job. The load up was quick, the unload was quicker. The service was done in less time that I had anticipated.
I will not be moving again for some time, but when I do, I will be using Silverback Moving in Pompano Beach, Florida.

I moved on November 11th from Novi to Northville, MI within a distance of less than 5 miles. We wre downsizing so moving from a 5 bedroom house to 3 bedroom. We were leaving behind many big items. 
My complain is about the owner Jim who lacks people skills and honesty. Totally denied what was agreed and threatened to call back the movers one hour into the wrapping and loading. The son came to give an estimate and remarked we did not have much to move since we were downsizing and leaving behind many of the big items. The first thing discussed was the piano move from our house to my daughters house, to her walkout basement. The move was less than 5 miles. Did not send big enough truck and therefore had to load many boxes in our van driven by my husband and left behind many heavy things. Recommended three movers while one was standing around most of the time. Three men were recommended because a piano needed to be moved. Jim forgot to tell the movers who were not prepared to move the piano and therefore did not bring the appropriate dolly and therefore left it in the garage. I had to still pay half the money for the piano move. To top it all, he made a very rude and racist remark.  
Moving is considered one of the stressful times in your life. I was extra cautious making sure everything was to go smoothly. Therefore avoided companies which were giving estimates only on the phone. Four or more companies reps came to give the estimate. Waned to make sure the reps saw what had to be moved including the piano.
Most businesses like to make sure about customer satisfaction and learning how other people in the same business are offering. In one of the phone conversations, he mentioned that he did not care what other businesses were doing. 
Hired another company, Royal movers, who did a great job moving the piano to its final destination. 
 
I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Last winter was particularly difficult on my parents, living in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. This year my husband and I decided it would be best for them to move permenamtly to our vacation home in Boca Raton, Florida. They were obviously beyond excited about the transition. I researched several moving companies located in both Boca Raton and Rochester. I found Silverback Moving, specializing in moving homes between Michigan and Florida. I phoned for an estimate and they were at the Bloomfield Hills home the very next day. Curtis the estimator was very detailed and professional in the home. After returning to the office, he gave my parents a firm quote of $5,280 for the entire service from Bloomfield Hills to Boca Raton. After shopping around I found this was a great price. The move itself transpired wonderfully. All promises were kept

Finding a moving company that is reliable, fairly priced, and professional is not easy. My family used Silverback Moving last October for both moving and storage. We needed three months of storage while our new build was being finished in Rochester. Silverback Moving came out for a quote, estimated about 8 hours. On the actual move date out of our home, Silverback Moving arrived with a staff of three men and one truck as arranged prior. The men were great and about all promises were kept. Our pieces were stored at the Silverback Moving facility in Waterford. Pleased with service, I'll use again.

In December 2015, I contacted Schea Van Lines to get a quote to move a one-bedroom, 500 square foot apartment across town and they provided a good, competitive quote. Several other moving companies I looked into estimated a three hour move from approx. $450. Shea Van Lines quoted around $430 and three hours so I decided to go with them.
On the day of the scheduled move, the two young men arrived just a few minutes late, but complaining of exhaustion and in need of a break before even starting. I let it go and decided to help them in anyway I could to move items from the apartment from the truck to make the process move faster. A friend of mine was over helping as well and it seemed as if we were moving items to the truck faster than the two "professionals."
They were finally done..3 hours later, after taking numerous breaks and working at a tremendously slow rate.
I was furious at the unprofessionalism occurring during the moving process so I contacted Shea to discuss other options. The woman on the phone was very compassionate and stated that she would contact the owners to follow up with the issue.
In the meantime, the two men continued to take breaks, complain of how tired they were and bump furniture into walls, etc. The move was finally over after 6 hours and a SUBSTANTIAL amount more cost than estimated. At end, while completing paperwork, the mover called his boss to confirm total costs and while on speaker phone the boss asked, "Is she happy now?" as if them giving me a small discount would help with the almost double amount of the quote.
I don't understand how people are in a business and A. Cannot accurately quote and B. hire unprofessional and clearly unqualified individuals and C. do not follow up with customer complaints.
I have tired several times to follow up with both Schea Van Lines and Silverback Moving in regards to this matter and have received one text message stating they would call, yet they never did. My phone messages, also have not been returned.
I surely hope this terrible scenario does not happen to other customers.

I got several estimates from different companies and this was in the average range, thought it is a company can use. The move estimated for one day between 1200 to 1700 and 8-12 hour So I was expect one day and in these range. But things go to different direction, the first day run 7 hours may be 1/3 moved and not night cloth box and needed thing goes to gather, and I have to pay 1100+ plus tip, I do not have sleeping and change cloth in new place but all mattresses moved, can no take shower, no towel find, and one bed missing part can not assembly. They demand the tip above certain amount or will not come next day, and next day no one come, I have to call to get someone come in the afternoon, second day run long hour till middle night and had problem can not delivery last load, and third day (my work day) had to wait truck coming with different crew. The manager ask to pay 1600+ for second day before my furniture can unload. That will start the clock for third day with unknown hours, estimate was 4.5 hours. That could put the total charge to 3200+. Do you expect the cost beyond estimated that much. And that is cash price. If you paid credit rad 5% more plus tip. Do you have cash on hand at that time double the max estimate? When I questioned the manager, how the cost be come that high. I need explaination, since I moved several year ago from this house ( just move back) by other company with extra sofa set for basement that I sold before this move, in one day one load. So I know it can be done in one day one load. Other company estimated Same. Now I am in the third day with delivery furniture unassembled, boxes all in one place unsorted. But I was asked to pay before they can unload. When my wife did not agree and asked me to get police to present, they drove away my furniture. Later texted me to their office to pay first. The latest text I got was they will starting charge me storage fee. They took my furniture without my agree and want to start charge storage fee. Do you want to use such company that would not give you a earnest estimate and keep adding price and if you want to question, they will take your furniture to force you pay in order to get your stuff?

 My husband and I were    moving after 34 years  in our  home. We were overwhelmed to say the least over our impending move that day.  But when the movers from Silverback arrived they were so curteous, professional and hard working that they made everything run smoothly.  We never saw anyone work harder or faster to get us moved from one place to the other. We can't say enough to praise them and the great job they did.  When you move only once in 34 years it's nice to know you have the best company doing the job.  Thanks again Silverbacl Movers, we couldn't  have done it without you.  Eileen & Jeno Kasa.

We used Silverback Moving & Storage of West Palm Beach, Florida to bring some items stored at a moving company in Fort Lauderdale up to our new home after our restoration of our four bedroom was completed. I was extremely pleased with their work. I will use them again. The staff were efficient, the office was beyond helpful, and the pricing was very reasonable. Silverback Moving & Storage shipped my firm's office fixtures from our Tampa office to our facilities located in Delray Beach. This was the best moving company I have contracted in the West Palm Beach area. Every detail was handled to our liking and both our equipment and fixtures were handled with care. I will use Silverback Moving & Storage exclusively for my West Palm Beach moving and storage needs.
My wife will be sending some pieces to family in Lake Forest, Illinois later this year. We will use Silverack Moving & Storage West Palm Beach to facilitate the services. I hired Silverback Moving to relocate my offices from Streeterville, IL to Birmingham, MI. We were extremely pleased with the efficiency and service we had received. After contacting the Illinois office for the firm, an estimator was sent out to our office the following day.
The gentleman who visited us gave our office manager great moving tips and resources to make the transition smooth. There was a great emphasis put on minimizing the downtime of our office. Considering I have a very fast paced office, this was most important to my staff and I. The competing bids we had received planned the relocation to take a total of four days. Considering we only had four desks and filing cabinets, four days seemed unreasonable. Silverback Moving promised a two day transfer to our new office.
They kept their promise. An excellent staff of three arrived at our building the morning of the scheduled date of operation. They quickly prepared the office than proceeded to load for shipping. Six hours later they had arrived at their facility in SE Michigan where the items were stored for the evening. The next morning they made a quick, prompt, professional delivery. All special requests we had made were handled accordingly. I was extremely impressed with Silverback Moving. I will most certainly be using them in the near future for record storage.

I've lived in Boca Raton, Florida, for nearly twenty years now. I have hired several moving companies in the area. Originally I hired a moving company to relocate my wife and I to the Boca Raton area. We then changed places three times after coming down. This most recent time we hired Silverback Moving in West Palm Beach. Fortunately we weren't taking much after our estate sale. None the less I wanted someone from the Silverback Moving office to come out to look at the home prior to scheduling service.

The day of the estimate a rep came out to the home. He was extremely helpful and detailed in his notes. This was nice considering the other moving companies I phoned in the Boca Raton area had no interest in even coming to the home.

The day of the move we had a staff of three and a single truck. The team worked quickly and professionally. This was a relief considering I've experienced far different in the past.

We moved from Boca Raton to Boca Raton so it was a move of shorter distance. When all was done and handled the move actually cost less than we had anticipated and we didn't have to lift a finger. Silverback Moving in West Palm Beach is by far the best moving company we've had since living in the Boca Raton area. I don't plan on moving soon, but ill phone them if needed.
