Shleppers Moving & Storage

I moved from New York to the Bay Area using Shleppers. I was very impressed with the staff top to bottom. They give you a moving consultant who is both the estimator and the point person through the whole process and mine was great. The estimate was what I was charged in the end, the pickup was professional and efficient, and the staff showed great care and were friendly. The only trouble points were that they had two items that did not make it onto the cross-country truck due to space reasons and were delivered a couple of weeks later and a couple of items that were damaged. They were in constant contact with me and compensated me for both.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $6000

I used Shleppers to move an overstuffed converted 3 bedroom in NY to a house in NJ.We had used them over 10 years earlier to move in and had a good experience so decided to see if they were still of the same quality. The move consultant who came to review the apartment was friendly and easy to deal with. He was in and out quickly while doing a thorough estimate and was able to answer any questions we had. We received estimates from several places and this was the best experience. To make it better their price was much better than one place and competitive with others. We decided to go ahead with them.
On move day our foreman showed up with the truck and guys (Milos I think) checked out our apartment and got to work. They were quick, but diligent and pointed out already damaged items (we knew). No issues with the packing up of the truck from the apartment. Once they arrived they unloaded quickly and even though some furniture did not fit upstairs, (not their fault)
they tried hard to make accommodations and got the truck unloaded and without issue. At the end of the move they did not bring up any surprise add-ons, or changes to the bill (a theme I saw often during my searches on the web). We settled up and that was it. I tipped them well (they deserved it) but that was not brought up at all by them. (No pressure, etc.). Overall we were extremely pleased with the move and would recommend them and this crew in particular.

I move constantly. I'd say I like to torture myself but I cannot say enough good things about Shleppers. From getting the quote (which was less than the other quote I got by $100) to the guys showing up early (they called first). I was fully prepared to cry at some point during the move, as movers often make me do. No tears just pure joy!! Seriously- professional, kind, didn't nickel and dime me for extra boxes and not one thing was damaged. They moved quickly and I moved to a 4 floor walk up. Thank you, guys!!

I'm delighted to say that hiring Schleppers for my "in house" move was a great decision. Not only was their quote more reasonable than any other, but they were clearly experienced and professional. I'm in a condo with many rules and regulations and this company knew exactly what to do. Because I moved from one wing of the building to another it involved two different elevator banks and "schlepping" stuff across a basement. It was seamless! The crew was courteous, professional, quick and hard working. Moving is stressful but Schleppers made moving day easy. I won't hesitate to recommend them and will use them again if the need arises.

I would like to acknowledge and give props to the crew led by Oscar that performed as efficiently and professionally as anyone could ask for. The three man crew was helpful, engaging, and courteous. They actually arrived early and gave me time to get the apartment ready for entrance. Afterwards, they came in, took apart furniture, placed clothes in wardrobe box, secured possessions, rolled things out, and expertly did it all over when moving into new apartment. It was a quick and skillful display of professionalism. I would recommend to anyone looking for a big move. My wife and I were quite impressed.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1022

This was my first experience with Shleppers. I had previously used another, larger company for other, larger moves, and had found their service exemplary; however, for this smaller job (5 - 6 pieces of furniture, plus a few boxes in; 3 - 4 pieces out), I'd heard good word-of-mouth on Shleppers, their estimate was what I expected to pay, and it was fixed-cost, not hourly. On the day of the move, they outperformed my expectations. By a large margin! I'd been given an arrival window of between 9:00 & 10:00 am. They arrived at 8:30, and we finished the move by 10:45. They did not push to start early (though we could all tell the day was warming up); they were just ready. So were we, and the rest is history. All the service was excellent, from the rep on the phone (and in e-mail) to the three great movers on the day. I would definitely use Shleppers again, and I would recommend them without hesitation.

We used Shleppers to move a 2 bedroom Co-Op in NY to a house in PA. A friend of mine had raved about Shleppers. Gavin our move consultant who came to review the apartment, was very friendly and easy to deal with. He was in and out quickly while doing a thorough estimate and was able to answer any questions we had. We received estimates from several places and this was the most professional and the cost was competitive with others. A few others were really low, but they did not take the time to come to the apartment, we figured too good to be true. We decided to use Shleppers, based on their professionalism and recommendation and price.
On move day, our foreman showed up at 9am (right on time!) with the truck and guys checked out our apartment and got to work. They were quick, but industrious. We live in a Co-op and I was dreading the hogging of the elevator, but everything went smoothly, and I was cleaning up the apartment at noon. They met us in Philadelphia and quickly finished the task at hand.
As for the price, there were no add ons, and everything was in the same condition as it was. I tipped them well as they deserved it. There was absolutely no pressure from the crew.
I highly recommend them and we have already recommended them to friends of ours.
