Initially good, then just downhill

At first, I was very happy, quick response, scheduling of delivery of empty boxes and pickup was quick. Both was done by UPS, and I could only select a date, with ETA 9am - 6pm, so there were two days I could not go to work.

But then problems started, response to emails only after 48 hours, with no information.

Promised transit time was 14-17 days, still waiting. No answer to emails.

Call from their side, from Kuala Lumpur, long after that. Useless, but almost rude guy, hidden in all the BS "yes Ma'am, thanks Ma'am", basically hung up on me before I could ask about delivery.

Finally an answer to emails, call to customer service, delivery could be arranged. In total the transit time was factor two longer than promised.

Again no arrival time, just a date.

5 Boxes out of 7 were OK. Last one was severely damaged, multiple holes, parts from inside sticking out, shifted during transport, maybe pushed back. This box, the only one of this shipment, was labeled "fragile" and somebody took this as an invitation to use it as a punching bag? Contents, that were carefully wrapped and cushioned when I gave away the package, were so much damaged. Thick metal bent, so no minor scratches or superficial damage.

One further box was also damaged, and several items inside broken, but nothing major.

It might be cheap, but the service is outsourced, slow, and non-responsive in inquiries. Not worth the risk. Company does not respect its own values.

Still fighting over the repair of my stuff, and I will not stop.

You used our Baggage service from Spain to Germany. We supplied boxes, bubble wrap and tape to assist with your packing but our quote also states that a bicycle should be boxed before transport and instead it was collected in bag.

There is no small print, the terms of our insurance is clearly stated both on our website and when completing our online documentation.

We deeply regret any damage when we are transporting a shipment, and offer our sincere apologies for the delays in arrival.

Terrible experience before and after "service"

I have a terrible experience when I asked for quotation and after "service"

I was asking to get the delivery service from HKG to YVR. The staff told me that it's about CAD$ 140 for one 30KG parcel and I told them I only need 2 maxi boxes to send out but finally gave me another wrong quotation (10 boxes) via email. While I am waiting, I have left my belongings to Hong Kong as I think it's a good deal to send via Seven Seas and my friend sent their goods to UK with a great deal too. After that, I have asked many times to get the updated, but no one reply. Therefore, I call all the way from YVR to HKG to get the updated quotation but the prices is horribly high and more expensive than UPS, DHL & FedEx while Seven Seas have to wait for 3-4months to get the boxes.

I have feedback all these to their call center in Malaysia but the call center staff, Edmond Lee who just hang up my call with very rude matter. Also, His supervisor doesn't wanna handle this complaint and even don't disclose its name. It wasted over 1 hour for this call and was insisted to write an email for this complaint. This Edmond Lee keeps hanging up my call without professional advice and showed such dreadful manner towards to their customers. After few calls, I insisted to make an official complaint and was given a name and details to I email to their CS manager, Jane Elwall from UK but NEVER replied from this woman!!!

Also, Edmond Lee mentioned that I can just simply not accept this quotation and accept other companies. This is also another hilarious action and speech made from this guy. Based on his short vision and irresponsible wordings , he totally doesn't know the impact to their customers. If the staff never mentioned a great deal. I have already sent it out via another companies 2 months ago. You can see Seven Seas has such irresponsible and barbaric service and staff to their customers. He advised to complain and write on forum and service review all over world too. His words keep challenge their customers with such bad manner.

I can say this company keep changing their prices due to market demand even it just happened within 12 hours. Be Cautious!!!

This is TOTALLY unacceptable and unreasonable attitude. Those customer service skill and manner are totally not able to support Hong Kong Market and even normal serving market. They totally ignored your concern.

This case has been dragged over one month and haven't solved the problem yet. This is unbelievable and such painful service that I have encountered so far for delivery company.

Luckily, I do not accept their service.

I STRONGLY NOT RECOMMEND SEVEN SEAS WORLDWIDE. BE CAUTIOUS! IT JUST RUINS YOUR ROUNTINE OF DELIVERY.

Worst Shipping company i have dealt with

Their customer service and process for locating lost items are the worst i have dealt with. I have used SSW a few times with no issues until they lost my shipment. I have been communicating with them almost daily since they lost my shipment 5 months ago through their subcontracting arrangement and honestly the worst service i have worked with so far 

Firstly, they did not even realise one of the boxes was missing until I had to inform them by tracking the numbers. After that, it looks like they have not made any real effort in locating my shipment, with the same emails sent each time I contacted them, without any real information of the search. To make things worse, they have also refused to provide any information about the search information of my OWN BOX so that I can work on locating the box with the subcontractors!!!! I cannot understand this at all as it just shows that they have shown no interest and have put in zero effort to find the box. 

Their arrangement has made it impossible for me to be involved in the search and I would have been better off locating it on my own.  I was forced to put my trust in them to search the box and left feeling like it has costed me the box as it looks they have not done anything so far to locate this box in the last 5 months

Save yourself money and frustration.

Save yourself money and frustration - do not use Seven Seas as your international moving company if you're in the United States.

If you're in the U.S. - be advised that they don't have an office or staff here; rather, you'll be dealing with offshore customer service representatives (CSR) from Malaysia, etc.

A few examples of my poor experience:

Their shipping document provides a list of "Restricted Contents" however, their website has a set of "Prohibited Items" that are in conflict with what is listed in the shipping document - I now have to have a box returned at a fee to me because of their refusal to recognize their discrepancy.

Each time I called in to request/confirm information, I would be given differing (conflicting) information based on who answered the phone (all of the CSRs apparently are named "Joe").

I've been sent multiple emails prompting me to go to the "Documents" tab on their website to upload documents but could never find it on your website.

One CSR told me "...it's because you need Google Chrome in order to see it"...I downloaded it and still did not see it.

Do yourself favor...don't trust ANY of the positive reviews for Seven Seas - chose another shipping company that is based in the U.S. that may be a bit more expensive...hard lesson learned.

Your shipment contained alcohol and it appears you did you check our Prohibited Goods list on our website - there is a link on your quote to that specific webpage - instead relying on the Restricted goods list which is not the same. We regret the confusion and will update the documentation.

Our Advisors are composed of individuals of various nationalities to allow us to support more languages than English. Many do not have western names and have adopted English sounding names, "joe" is not one of them and we do not understand the complaint.

You were emailed a link to your online account so you could log in. As you mentioned, you were also emailed to access the online documentation, each email had a link to the log in. This is in addition to the option of logging in from our website Home Page. We will investigate you appear to have issues accessing the log in.

Hidden fees everywhere

Do not use Seven Seas.

Despite their “no hidden fees” guarantee there are actually hidden fees everywhere!

Once they had my goods they added 39% to the volume measurements and charged me extra and then also applied an overweight fee despite assuring me that weight didn’t affect the quote.

When I finally received the goods I remeasured them and confirmed my original measurements were perfectly correct but Seven Seas refused to refund.

This feels like a con to me!

Hi Daniel, you used our Baggage service by air from the UK to Australia to send 5 of our own boxes, following collection the dimensions you had entered for the quote did not match those that we took of those boxes and the charge was changed.

You disputed this and it was rechecked by the Depot Manager who found a slight discrepancy which lead to an adjustment of GBP10 on the overall charge.

We cannot comment on the dimensions you state confirm the originals but only to observe that after an international transit with boxes being stack on each other, it is highly unlikely that they are exactly the same size.

Seven Seas Worldwide move thousands of customers every year and though errors do arise we acknowledge them. In your case we checked, rechecked and adjusted the charge. We charged you correctly for your shipment.

Stole my money!!!

We booked a MoveCube on 24 March and paid a deposit of R4600. As part of the booking, you have to select the inspection date and the Cube delivery date. Due to import complications at the destination site, we contacted Seven Seas Worldwide today, 28 March to cancel the service. They have not done a single thing, however, according to their Ts&Cs we are not eligible for a refund as we've already made a booking for a site inspection. What absolute nonsense is this - a site inspection is literally someone that will drive to my house to ensure there is parking for the truck. But because this is scheduled in their system, I cannot get a refund!!!!! Worst customer service ever!

Good from start to finish

I was really nervous about our move as we've had bad experiences with shippers before. But this worked really smoothly. We used a MoveCube which we packed ourselves. There was a small hiccup with the size of the van that came to pick up our things (it was enormous and struggled to fit down the street) but everything else worked perfectly. Communication was good, timing was accurate and pricing was very reasonable. I'd highly recommend the Move Cube to anyone - just ensure that the company scopes out where you live to check the correct size of truck is set for pick up.

Unfortunate documentation process

I wish I could rate Seven Seas on simply moving things from one place to another. Our move to the US from Australia went fine logistically. And their drivers were helpful with a bit of incentive. However, their system for entering documentation for the shipment drove everyone involved crazy. Their system was counter-intuitive and did not seem to have been updated in decades. And the customer service seemed to vary from mediocre to exasperating. The amount of time it took for documentation of our four shipments ended up being exorbitantly long, and I regularly felt like shooting myself in the head at their failure to address issues we brought to their attention. Also, there was no scheduling flexibility at either end of the shipment. We had to match their scheduling, however inconvenient, or pay storage charges. I've designed computer systems, including with extensive data entry. Theirs is very poor and could use a big upgrade!

Awful service.

Moved several boxes from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore - not a long distance. Seven Seas Promised 14-18 days delivery and took over a month. Then said they wouldn’t deliver on a weekend. Cheaper than others but terrible service.

You shipped 12 items including 4 of our large boxes from Malaysia to Singapore. We collected your shipment of January 19, but we needed an "employment pass" (EP) in order to clear your shipment in Singapore as personal effects. This delayed the shipment until we received the EP on February 6.

Your shipment was then sent immediately, now we use Hong Kong as our hub since we have shipments for places like the Australia, UK, USA also being shipped out of Malaysia. This may appear odd at first hand but sending a container with hundreds of boxes to Hong Kong and then back to Singapore is actually more competitively priced and efficient than sending your 12 items direct.

Your shipment arrived on February 13 in Singapore and was delivered on February 20. The delay was due to Chinese New Year celebrations. We appreciate your frustration at the delay but if you take the period from when we received your EP to delivery in Singapore, even with Chinese New Year, the transit time is 14 days.
