A very unpleasant moving experience

It vexes me to take time writing about a negative experience with Simple Moving aka Roman Relocation Inc. I too work in a sales environment and understand the importance of maintaining good customer relations. This company claims it does the same but does not believe in it. I’ve interfaced with people in this company at different levels and they are good hard working folks wanting to do a good job but can tell they are severely throttled.

I made contact with Simple Moving through a broker while planning a move and doing research on moving companies. They are one of the few moving companies that actually called back and provided a reasonable bid. However, they were too low compared to the other bids and asked if they could look at it again explaining I did not want a big surprise on the final invoice. They seemed a bit irritated mentioning their multiple years of moving experiences gives them the necessary accuracy. They asked for and I supplied more information. The revised estimate remained the low bid but at the end of the move they were ultimately higher than the other bidders. I do not know were the years of experience come into play but its not working very well for them. They were off by 30% and I am not happy about it. The experience did not end there.

Now, we deal with inconvenient and extended delays. Our move required a month of storage before our new place was ready for occupancy. Upon taking possession we did as asked contacting them for delivery. “OK. We will get on it and call you when the truck is loaded for delivery.” I anticipated a call the next day. Several days later there is no response. I contact them again with the same result. “We will call you.” Irritated I now make daily calls requesting an updated status. They cannot tell me when delivery will occur. Any business involved in the delivery of product manages a delivery schedule and can reasonably tell you when it will occur. It’s essential and simple. This company cannot do that. Politely, I give them an option, deliver our stuff or release it from storage so I can pick it up. The sudden possibility of experiencing revenue loses peaks their interest. “Let me see what we can do for you,” is the reply. Later that day a call comes in saying the truck is loaded and they want to deliver it this evening. It took twelve days from the initial delivery request before actually seeing a delivery truck.

The saga continues. We moved several times during our careers and familiar with moving. We have done it ourselves and hired moving companies to get it accomplished. We learned early on something will get broken and accepted the consequence. Fortunately, it did not cause the absorption of a large expense. This move, without going into great detail, was the worst experience regarding damage material. I feel confident saying some of it appeared deliberate. The damages totaled $2200.00. After arduously going through their claim process with forms, pictures, explanations and again long delay we receive a notice offering a $210.00 settlement. I immediately respond explaining the settlement was unacceptable and they need to reconsider. Reminding them the damages occurred while in their possession.

We began negotiating but it did not go very far. Another aspect this company cannot do. They are not interested in finding where an unpleasant situation turns into a win-win for both parties. I made counter offers and committed to write a truthful customer experience explaining problems existed but the company made the necessary corrections. None of it is going to happen. I feel I’ve made several attempts to help this company get it corrected but they simply refuse. Instead they would rather deal with the negative consequences of this review. I leave it up to you to make your own decision if you want to consider this company for your next move.

Because we needed so many of Roman Relocation services, we were fortunate to discover their exclusive deal. Daniel and a coworker assisted us in a smooth transition. There was even some heavy furniture that had to be carried up three flights that was meticulously wrapped and delivered. Get to know them sooner was one thing I wish I had done differently.

The Roman Relocation staff provides exceptional customer service. As far as I'm concerned, Roman Relocation is the best moving company we've ever worked with. Our belongings were handled with care and attention by three men who arrived the day before our move to pack our home. Because I chose their exclusive deal they went above and above. On the day of the transfer, everything went well and the customer service was excellent. This company's services are highly recommended for anybody looking to migrate. These guys are really helpful

The service was outstanding. The movers were considerate, careful with my belongings, and expeditious. In my opinion, they performed an amazing job packing up my home. My house and yard were loaded into the cars in less than three hours thanks to their exclusive package, which included furniture wrapping to avoid damage. I was really amazed by their level of expertise. They had a good grasp of what they were doing and worked well together. It was exactly as easy to unpack at my new home. When unloading, the workers were careful to protect the floor so that no harm occurred. Despite an 80-mile journey and multiple hurdles, the move was done and the kettle was on in less than eight hours.

Do NOT Use. Horrible Svc

We contracted for a move from WI to WA state. They only sent 4 people (even though we paid for packers) and 1- 1/2 sized truck. They tried to change the quoted amount bc “they couldn’t get everything we had in the truck” and when we refused they said “then pick what you want to leave”. They didn’t bring any packing paper just boxes and tape. They left a huge mess and we had to stay 2 extra days in WI and hire a UHual to move all the stuff they wouldn’t. The move was a disaster and we had over $10k in damages. Not to mention the fact that my husbands PS5 came up missing as well as about 12-15 collectible model kits (each worth btw $100-$300). When they delivered that had 1 guy show up who tried to tell us we HAD to pay cash even though our contract stated electronic payment and told us he would leave if we didn’t get cash(I ven though it was 2 hours before a bank would even be open). So I finally get the cash and he refuses to give me a receipt or sign anything that says he received payment. I put my foot down and told him no receipt then no cash. Of course this was thru Google translate bc he didn’t speak much English just Russian. He kept telling us his movers would be here soon and when they finally showed up we find out they are local Craig’s List hires. Not only did they damage the furniture but one guy stole my daughters WII and all her games when she wasn’t looking (it was in a portable carry case with games included). We have the police report and they even know who did it, we identified his mug shot but it was too late to get the items back as they were already gone. They had absolutely no customer svc and no one we could complain to and insurance only offered us $350 for an over $10k insurance claim. Please never use this company. It is terrible.
