These people are black mailers and frauds! Still dealing with them as they are currently trying to extort more money from us as of March 2nd, 2022! From the minute the movers arrived and realized it was truly a minimum job, they were creating excuses to add fees!

1. They arrived 4 1/2 hours late. Expected time I was given was 9 am. They did not arrive till 1:30 pm.

2. They would not pull their truck up to my front door because of low hanging white pine/cedar tree branches, which were cut to 23/24 feet clearance this past fall. Thus adding a 450 dollar long walk charge.

3. When we moved in to the house in 2020, the moving company at the time weighed every belonging we had at 1985lbs. In the two years since our only big ticket item purchased was a treadmill that is roughly 200lbs. We were in a 900 sq/foot cottage home, I had roughly 30 items for transport and weighed 3 or 4 of the smaller items myself to make sure I was given them a very good rough estimate. I told the total weight would be 1000/1350 lbs because we moved everything else ourselves. When the movers arrived the lead hand said it would be much more than the provided quote! He immediately claimed my 30 items would be close to 3500lbs. Thus that means that even with us throwing out 1/4 of our old stuff while adding a 200lbs treadmill my total weight ballooned by almost double for only roughly 30 items! When they finished packing my stuff into their van which I was told by the sales lady (They are not) the lead hand pressured me under duress to sign and initial for transport on my last available day to move out! He quoted 3900lbs. So in just over 2 years 1/4 of my stuff total weight ballooned by double it's weight for a total move 2 years prior! Hmmm

4. We've now not heard from them in over 24 hours as they are holding our current belongings for going on 3 days. They've decided to take the liberty of adding a $500 dollar a day storage fee plus a $250 dollar offloading fee! Yet I never responded to their electronic e-mail to agree to those terms. This should have been a 1 day 100km move!

5. The accounts department lady by the name of Lauren has changed her story three times now while trying to put the onus of her bad business on me. All three times I've spoken to her, I've had her on speaker phone and have witnesses to her ever changing story about the workers. Most impressive is she claimed the workers feared for their safety while in my presence, yet they were in so much fear that they came without cigarettes and asked me for some while they were on their break, I gave them a third of a carton to be nice!

6. We have hired a Lawyer and spoken to both the OPP and the Consumers Protection Agency who will also be providing us with assistance as many of the codes written to protect the consumer were broken by many of the employees at this company. I've also started an internet search online for problems others have had with this particular company, within the last 8 hours I've met a dozen or so clients that had just as horrible and continuing experience as myself and my partner.

In closing by the time I'm done they'll be paying me to hush up!

My advice, stay as far away from this extortionist, blackmail, egotistical, lying, scamming, cheating company as you can!

We were given a verbal estimate of $675.00 via phone by Roadway Moving to move our furniture from Dunsford to Havelock ON (approximately 110 km). We booked for February 28, 2022 for our things to be picked up at our old house and moved to our new house that same day. We paid a $200.00 deposit. On the 28th, problems began to accumulate. First the movers refused to bring the truck down our driveway in Dunsford citing the truck would touch tree branches, so they parked at the road and said they would charge us a long walk fee of 450.00. We do not believe this to be valid as the trees are very high and a bigger moving truck came down the driveway 2 years ago. Then, once all our furniture and items were locked in their truck, the driver forced me to sign a contract under duress, and said they would not deliver our things unless we paid immediately. We did not have time to tally up the invoice on the spot (no total was written in), but the invoice, including the long walk fee totals $1495.00. They have been holding our things in storage since Feb 28, 2022 and are now demanding $3600.00 and for us to sign a legal release in their favour before they will return our things. We are not agreeing. We believe this is unfair and very one sided in their favour. They made a false representation about their fee estimate and tried to blackmail us, pressuring us. They have grossly overestimated the weight of our items and have shown NO PROOF that items were actually scaled. Lauren from Accounting and Claims is an absolute nightmare to speak with, horribly rude and constantly talking over us. She had her number disconnected so we could not call her again. Their paralegal Donna Keuhl misrepresented herself to us over the phone as a lawyer when she is not. They still have our things and we are not stopping until justice is done. NEVER HIRE THIS COMPANY
