Roadway Moving

SO AMAZING.  I've moved back and forth across the country three times and it has never been a positive experience - my things have been lost and damaged and the timing has always been inconvenient. Living on an air mattress for weeks is not fun. Roadway was AWESOME. From David who did the estimate to Alun, Pedro and Roland the moving crew in Manhattan and Ibrahim and his crew in Chicago - every member of the team was a pro.  They were efficient and respectful and all of my expectations were exceeded.  From initial call to receiving my items in Chicago was a 10 day process total! From pick up to delivery was 4 days!  I cannot say enough good things. I had three in apartment estimates and their price was the best as well.

Service cost: $2990

I had a local but significant move, with two pickups and one delivery of large and small furniture as well as boxes, lamps, shelves, bedding, etc., all within NYC. The Roadway team - Danny S, Michael A and Edwin C were all totally competent, thorough, informative, courteous, careful and extremely professional. They came early, totally prepared with more tools, equipment and supplies than the job actually required, and knew exactly the best way to package every item. They also cleaned up completely after each stop. I would request them all again in a heartbeat, and will recommend them as highly as I can to anyone who asks.

Roadway has earned my respect as well as my dedication, to the point where I have no interest or need to investigate any alternative movers again! (Thank you for that!) And Danny S, as the team Foreman, excels at everything he does - including his courtesy, professionalism and respect in dealing with his own team as well as his customers. He is an absolute pleasure to work with. The company's "CAN DO" attitude shows throughout the work these men performed. In addition, Hector, in Sales, was extremely helpful, as was Natasha in Customer Success, especially in providing the COI as needed.

I recommend Roadway Movers unconditionally to anyone requiring such services.

Roadway handled my move from Austin, TX to Manhattan.

Wow, this is a company that clearly has customer service baked into its core. Every single person I interacted with was unfailingly polite, helpful, knowledgeable. The move went exactly as described, with everything arriving unharmed. And the moving crew went quite a bit above and beyond by assembling a number of furniture pieces that were new, still in their shipping boxes and clearly not the responsibility of the movers to do anything with other than drop off the boxes.

Roadway saved my bacon when I realized very late in the game that the first moving company I had engaged with was of dubious character and had no clue about how to deal with moving in to Manhattan. My strong recommendation is that if you are moving from out of state to New York City, use Roadway if at all possible.

It was a bit of a challenge to get them to take my business since they focus on moves originating in the NY area, but I can respect that they only want to take on business where they know they can meet their exceedingly high standards of service. In my case, the saving factor to convince them was that I had done all packing so they only had to move boxes and furniture onto their truck. With this simplification, they were able to find a truck that was on the way back from an outbound NYC move.

I had a really good experience with Roadway Moving. I moved from an hour east of NYC to Colorado. A coworker used them for a similar NYC-Colorado move and recommended them. They were one of the more expensive quotes we got, but we absolutely would use them again.

-My consultant, Adrian, drove out to my home on Long Island before the move to do an in-person estimate.
-Adrian explained all potential extra fees (shuttle, more than 1 flight of stairs) in advance, in detail.
-The pick-up and drop-off teams was very courteous and prompt and communicated in advance when they'd arrive.
-Furniture was well-wrapped and packaged.
-Nothing was broken or damaged! Guitars, computer towers, antique mirrors and antique dishes, all arrived without damage.
-Everything arrived in a very timely manner (the second day of the potential delivery window).
-Unfortunately, due to the tight turns in my apartment complex, they needed to use a shuttle instead of the 18-wheeler, but the drop-off team did everything they could to avoid it and get the truck in. I knew in advance it might be an issue where I lived (thanks to Adrian) so it wasn't a big deal.
-Customer service called to check that everything was going OK and that the team arrived on-time while the movers were there.
-Customer service is super responsive and great to deal with. I had a minor miscommunication with a team member and they got it totally resolved and were so wonderful about it.
-No unexpected fees were added on (I've heard horror stories about other companies charging for extra weight, more storage time, etc).

Totally worth the cost. The peace of mind during the stressful time was amazing, and they were so efficient and fast.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3300

As many people know, moving to a new home can be overwhelming, strenuous, and laborious to say the least! I contacted Roadway to ensure a seamless and efficient move to my new residence. Scott Coleman, who was very knowledgeable about the process, as well as kind and patient, reassured me that the service and my expectations would be met by dynamic and productive team. The day before my scheduled move, Mr. Coleman even followed up to make sure that I was ready, reassuring me once again on how smooth this move will be. I truly appreciated him going above and beyond to assist and bolster my spirit. I was also pleasantly pleased with the moving teams dedication, determination and care to securely handle my things with ease and with a smile. I would totally recommend Roadway again!

Our real estate brokerage firm has recommended Roadway to its clients and customers for years and my partner and I have used them occasionally - this week involved an emotional move from a Long Island home of 26 years to our country home in the Berkshires. Roadway's team and customer service were beyond exceptional from Steve Bailey to the moving team itself. Friendly, helpful, careful and caring, they made the move stress free and problem free. Can't recommend them more highly.

I can't say enough great things about Roadway Moving! Our move went off without a hitch! Our movers, Yadier, Yelson and Jose O were wonderful. They arrived exactly on time, packed our good with incredible care, and had us relocated and settled in within a matter of hours. We felt incredibly safe moving with Roadway in the middle of a pandemic. Joe, our contact all throughout the move, was informative, kind and truly cares for his team. I was moving cross-country form NYC to California, so hired Roadway for the move. After an initial quote and consultation, I was told to move out of my apartment in New York a week early, so that my things would arrive at the beginning of the ship window in California.

The first sign that things were off, was when the movers arrived and told me that I would have to pay an additional $1000 from the quote that they provided to me (based on their own virtual tour and inventory of items). I had to go back and forth with them and finally agreed to pay $450 additional.

All of that would have been fine, but here is when it went from a bad experience to the worst experience I have ever had. After sleeping on an air mattress in NYC for an extra week and unable to get an update on the status of my goods arrival in California, I came to find out that my stuff was still in New York and had not even left yet. The arrival date I was given was over a week after I arrived in California.

I told them that I would have to get a hotel room for an entire week now and that I had slept on an air mattress for a week in NYC for no reason. Not only that, but I had to pay an additional $450 to do so. The customer service representative that I spoke with, Carlos, did absolutely nothing to ease my concerns and simply regurgitated lines about the delivery window being two weeks and could not seem to understand that I was told to move out a week early. If I wanted to simply take the ship window, I would have moved out of NYC at the last possible moment.

After everything finally did arrive at my new residence, there were multiple boxes of broken china and boxes marked "Fragile" that were clearly stacked below multiple other heavy boxes.

After all of this, both Carlos and another customer service representative said that they were going to call me back with a plan to make this "right". However, now almost two weeks later, I have not heard anything back from them.

Things happen on a long cross-country move, so any one of these issues would be understandable, but it is Roadway's true disregard for their customer's concerns that will make me tell anyone that I ever speak with again about moving not to use them.

I recently used Roadway Moving for a cross-town move, and I couldn't be happier with the service! From the initial consultation to the final box being unloaded, the entire process was seamless and stress-free.

The team was incredibly professional, punctual, and careful with all of my belongings. They packed everything efficiently and made sure nothing was damaged during the move. I was particularly impressed with their attention to detail and the care they took with my fragile items.

Their customer service was excellent, always responsive and helpful with any questions I had. Moving can be a daunting task, but Roadway Moving made it smooth and easy.

I’ve moved several times in NYC, and my experience with Roadway was by far the best I’ve ever had. Before my move, their team made sure to ask all of the right questions and checked in to confirm my inventory list was accurate and I wasn’t missing anything. On the day of the move, the team was polite, efficient, careful, friendly, and communicative. It was truly a seamless experience from start to finish and a stress-free moving day, and I will be recommending Roadway to all of my friends!

Oh My Goodness!! Screaming YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!  I am soooo happy that ROADWAY MOVING SAVED ME from such a HUGE Disappointment. They actually contacted me after I left feedback from another moving company and I will say they Rescued me (no exaggeration). They were able to quote a GREAT PRICE; Moved my belongings from MD to NC in the same week within 1 day!! Driver was able to maneuver in and out of tight areas and was able to beat the brunt of the ice storm. Not only that but they also worked with my last minute changes such as having to pack more items than anticipated.  Everyone was COURTEOUS and CARING from The Salesperson to the Driver to Customer Service and everyone behind the scenes.  I have ALL SMILES my way. I definitely recommend this company for any move.  In my eyes Northern company with Southern culture.  .
