Purple Heart Moving Group

TL; DR: Listen to the reviews and RUN!! Customer Service does not care about you or your belongings and refuses to help after getting their money.

This company was awful to work with. This was the first time we have ever got someone else to move our belongings for us and I don’t know if we would ever do it again after dealing with Purple Heart Moving Group. When we first put in an inquiry, the sales team was very nice, patient and answered all of my questions. Their rates and services sounded really great (at first!). All of our belongings initially amounted around 350 cubic feet, so they gave me a total of $2,100, and if anything was added, they told me 15% of that total went toward adding or removing items. They have a two-day pick-up window, where you basically have to be ready at any time in those two days at a moment’s notice. Stressful, but we did so with no complaints. At the time of pick-up, they added $500 on top of our total because we added and removed items to make it 400 cubic feet. We coughed up the excess with no additional complaints. They told us that our stuff would be at our location 4-14 days after we would be there to get it. It is now 20 days past our pickup date, but that isn’t even the problem. Customer service is awful to work with. I did not receive any update of where our belongings were after 14 days into the delivery period. I called six times in the past week (as advised) just to get one update and they still cannot give me one to this day!! The first time I called, I was told I would get an update in two days. I called the third day, and they said, “I saw you were scheduled for a follow up yesterday, she will call you before the end of the day today.” No call. I called three days later. The woman I talked to said, “the delivery person won’t be in for another hour, I don’t do any of the delivery stuff so I can’t help you.” Then who can??! She told me, “You can call the moving truck yourself if you need an update so bad.” You need me to do the job I paid you $2,500 for?? Fine! I called myself and they said they would call back. Neither company did. Every time I would call, they would have some excuse why they can’t give me an update. “It’s not my job,” “I can’t call” etc etc. My most recent update is that our stuff is still waiting to be loaded onto a truck. It’s not even en route yet! There is no way I would use Purple Heart Moving Group again and I highly recommend everybody avoids them!!

I have NEVER complained about a moving company before until now but this is the absolute worst company that I have ever dealt with. First off, customer service is nonexistent once they receive your money. Up until then they are very customer friendly but once they have your cash, it's like F, you! A third of my items were Stolen! They shipped things that they were told not to ship like a box of Hazardous Materials and a box of specially ordered liquor which never made it to my home. The shot glasses which were in the same box made it but not the liquor, go figure.

I have moved many times in the past with many different moving companies and Purple Heart is by far the best I’ve used. No other company that I have used has put so much effort into making sure that my things were safe. I have a lot of antique items some of which are very fragile and they made a point to make note of anything that could break and treat it with care. It was such a relief to start unpacking and find that not a single thing was damaged. I call that extraordinary service and truly look forward to using them again the next time we relocate.

I recently moved from California to Colorado. They contracted with another company called SNY Relocation (also awful). Some of my most cherished possessions were lost or stolen. One box was opened and retaped and a bunch of rolled change was stolen. Granted, thelost items were just Christmas decorations but they were items sent to me by my mother over a period of 20 years. Insurance is not going to fix this.

Numerous calls resulted in assurances that my missing boxes would be located but no resolution from the was forthcoming...just empty promises.

Do yourself a favor and find an honest company.
