Long-distance move from Colorado to Alabama

I highly recommend Pricing Van Lines and crew.

We had a positive experience with Pricing Van Lines. They were very professional and accommodating. I had under estimated the amount of boxes and furniture we had. Adam, John and Eric assisted us in moving from our temporary rental and storage to a more permanent home. They were on-time, friendly, professional, and gave sound advice when needed. I highly recommend Pricing Van Lines and crew. They were awesome.

Movers came onsite the next morning. I recommend this company highly, and plan on using them again when moving this last week. Communication, terms, policies, behavior is worth more than 5 stars. I had a terrific experience with Pricing Van Lines System.

I had a terrific experience with Pricing Van Lines System, which helped with my recent move from Atlanta to Nashville. They were recommended by my real estate agent, who actually used them for her own personal move. The movers themselves were punctual, professional, polite, resourceful, hard working, and efficient. I cannot say enough nice things. The movers were outstanding. If any of my friends need move, I will recommend to them that they request this crew specifically because they were top notch.

Long-distance move from Rago, KS to Eagar, AZ

Best movers in Chicago.

Best movers in Chicago. I have had several different moving companies help me around the Chicago area and Pricing Van Lines is by far the best in the land. On time and ahead of schedule they were very professional and helped wrap up and protect a few items for me that I had missed. I have moved from house to house. And house to condo and I will never use anyone else. I always recommend them to everyone. Thanks.

A very good service!!!

A very good service, Pricing Van Lines team were professional and helpful. I've had some crazy mover nightmares, but my wife and I were very impressed with how smoothly everything went. One bit of advice, Pricing Van Lines are incredibly punctual and can load up 50 something boxes and furniture in under 40 minutes. So no need to arrange the moving earlier in order to give extra time. They charge by the hour so the quicker they move, the less you pay.

Local move from Brooklyn, NY to Accord, NY

I’m definitely using these guys!

We just completed a move with Pricing Van Lines. I’ve had less than stellar movers in the past, but these guys were amazing- not unexpected considering they were recommended to me by multiple friends. They arrived early, moved quickly/efficiently and were careful with all of our belongings. They were great with disassembling and assembling all of our furniture. Total cost was exactly what they estimated- when does that ever happen with movers?? Hopefully I never move again, but if I do I’m definitely using these guys!

Long-distance move from San Jose, CA to Novi, MI

It all worked out in the end, but we overpaid for it

Pricing Van Lines brokered a deal with Roadrunner Moving to accomplish our move from San Jose, CA to Novi, MI. For the most part, we are happy with that move, though there were some issues and failures to communicate on Pricing Van Line's part that resulted in us dramatically overpaying for the services rendered.

I will review both Roadrunner and Pricing Van Lines together here, since Pricing Van Lines is responsible for the work done by the company they subcontracted to.

GOOD THINGS

Almost everything arrived on site in good condition, and every high value item we had moved was also in great shape. Roadrunner was excellent in picking up our stuff and wrapping it for transport. Every item was carefully taken care of at the origin end, including a priceless heirloom table and super fragile curved monitor. For the size of our move, the amount of damage that occurred was surprisingly low.

Prior to subcontracting the job, Ron Rivera of Pricing Van Lines did an excellent job staying on the phone with me for an hour figuring out how much stuff we had and figuring out how much space he figured were were going to take up.

NEUTRAL THINGS

Roadrunner's communication about what was going on was fine. They answered every phone call and always called us back when we called them. They could have done a better job communicating schedule changes, but otherwise were fine.

We lost a few plates/bowls, and most of our plastic bins are now shattered, but most things are fine. One computer tower was dropped from the height of the truck bed, though its packaging seems to have protected it.

BAD THINGS

The biggest issue is the pricing situation we had with Pricing Van Lines. Our initial estimate for our move came out to around $11,000. Which was reasonable for our massive move. However, as we got closer to the date of the move, I kept asking them to add more things to adjust the quote and was told that we would "do that later" if they responded at all. Even 2 weeks before hand, Ron said that we should not adjust the estimate until a week before. We we finally went over all the updates to the estimate, it caused us to balloon to over $20,000, far too late in the process to compare with other companies.

The next part is probably the worst element of this. Ron suggested that we should OVERestimate how much stuff we had, and would only pay for the amount of the truck that we actually used. As a result, we "upgraded" to reserving exclusive use of a full truck for $25,000 with the expectation that we would receive a refund if we did not wind up using the entire truck.

Our contract moved over to Roadrunner on January 30, 2021, and immediately they indicated that they would not be honoring this "refund" thing that Ron had described. Roadrunner said that they ask their direct customers to UNDERestimate how much stuff they have, and then charge them for any excess on the day of the move. We were paying the full $25,000, period, even if we didn't use the full truck.

We attempted to contact Pricing Van Lines about this discrepancy, calling them several times during the weekend and leaving several messages, but as of Feburary 15, 2021, we have not received any further contact from them to discuss these discrepancies.

Roadrunner said that exclusive use of the truck would result in us getting our stuff faster, so we just accepted our situation and gave up trying to reach Pricing Van Lines. Sadly, it turned out that even that wasn't entirely accurate, as our truck was not at all exclusive, and we would up waiting for them to complete other moves first.

Roadrunner did not adequately staff the folks at the other end. The driver and Roadrunner employee did not participate much in the unloading of the truck, leaving most of that work to a bunch of day laborers they had put out a call for. Some of those folks were great, while others were not. One of the folks they hired literally took a smoking break inside our office while sitting on the box containing our super fragile $1000 curved monitor.

Long-distance move from Charlotte, NC to Costa Mesa, CA

BEWARE OF QA CALL PRICE JACK.

I feel manipulated. Alex Perez was incredibly helpful and always took my calls during the booking stage. He assured me we would only pay for what we ACTUALLY took. He quoted us $3000 and said it was a safe over-estimate for a small apartment-apartment move. Ron Rivero called to do my QA call 4 days before our pick up. Close enough to the date that it would be impossible to make alternate arrangements. I told Ron the same information as I had told Alex - we had even gotten rid of a few larger items. Ron sounded worried and told me that the original partial pack for the kitchen items wouldn’t cover them packing the....kitchen? Ok. So we needed full service but assured me we would only be charged for what we actually used. Fine. So he puts on there “full service platinum” and quoted me $7345 up from $3000?!!!?!? He ASSURED me over and over we would only pay for what we actually used.

Moving day rolls up. Driver from East Freight Logistics is 2.5 hours later than latest pick up time and only one helper (hired from Craigslist?!) shows up. The driver tells me he did not receive an inventory from Pricing. When I asked questions he told me I had to talk to Pricing and barely spoke English, fine but good luck getting anyone on the phone on the day of your move.

They started loading the boxes we had packed (8) and packing the boxes we had asked them to pack including kitchen (18). I noticed our wine glasses were being packed in a used TV box?! I am FULLY anticipating most items to arrive damaged or destroyed. A rep from pricing named Alyssa called to ask how things were going and again assured me we would only be charged based on the revised inventory but the driver did not take one. Alyssa left for the day at 5pm and our movers did not finish until almost 9pm.

East Freight Logistics starting calling to demand we pay 50% of the remaining balance before 5pm. Fine, but the inventory was not accurate so 50% of remaining balance put us $4900 deep in a move that should have cost $3000 or less so I asked if we would get refunded if we overpaid. She kept insisting we HAD to pay 85% of the most recent quote no matter what and when I asked questions said she wasn’t going to talk to me anymore and I had to talk to pricing.

So here I am, 3am in tears wondering if I will owe almost 2.5 times what I had budgeted for a move because I believed what pricing vanlines business representatives told me. I am frustrated and feel manipulated.
