Long-distance move from Cleveland, OH to Des Moines, IA

Horrible Experience. Do NOT Ever Use This Company

As close to a fraud company as possible. They advertise as a legitimate, professional moving company. Instead of a moving van they showed up with a rented Penske truck and 3 guys. I would have been better off hiring a local crew. Over priced, terrible communication, no customer service. They do no care about their customers or your experience. Please take my advice and avoid them. I do not write reviews often but I owe it to others to let them know about this scam company.

Long-distance move from Texas to Florida

Complete disaster!!

Poor communication, avoidance of phone calls prior to the move. The truck took 2 full days to load and was not loaded on the date agreed-upon. In the middle of the move, they called to demand more money. At that point, I felt I had no choice but to pay as I had to get to my new state for job/school. Many of my things arrived broken and some were left behind. One of the movers asked to borrow my drill. When he finished, I packed it in a box. When I arrived at my destination and looked for my drill - gone! This company over-promised and under-delivered. Please beware.

Long-distance move from Rockville, MD to Huntsville, TX

Misleading and unresponsive

I'll start by saying I thought Pricing would be great. They offered a competitive price and the salesman guaranteed the belongings would arrive on time. I later learned this was a lie.

A month before the move, they called to arrange the details (they scheduled the call for noon and then didn't call until 4pm, but that's relatively minor). The person I talked to was unaware of the salesman's guaranteed timeline, and told me that the salesman should not have made any such guarantees. I was told that I should have read the "binding estimate" more carefully. This was especially frustrating as I had read the estimate and was told by the salesman that they could guarantee the date I needed and that I could ignore the timeline as necessary legal policy.

Now Pricing said they could only guarantee the deadline I originally was guaranteed by adding $3000, which is roughly double what they originally offered. We withdrew from the move and Pricing refunded my money.

I submitted a complaint through the Better Business Bureau. My main concern was that the salesman lied to me and, in so doing, left me with little time to arrange a move given how tight moving is during the Summer. Pricing never challenged the fact that the salesman lied. Their only claim was that because I had a "binding estimate" rather than a "contract" they did not have to do anything.

In short, you can't trust Pricing to do anything they say UNLESS you get it IN WRITING.

Good luck with your search for a mover.

Long-distance move from Houston, TX to Chicago, IL

WORST EXPERIENCE, DO NOT USE

Let me be clear. I have never reviewed anything online ever. However I experienced multiple issues throughout the process of my cross country move and felt I needed others to learn from my mistakes. Here is what I experienced.

-Delayed pick up outside my window

- Delayed arrival of my items. Outside the 14 day window

- Complete lack of communication. Only answered half of my calls. Never gave me a 24 hour courtesy call prior to pick up and delivery

- Damage to my personal belongings

My items were mistreated. Multiple boxes were not intact at delivery. Multiple areas broken on my wooden coffee table, end table, bedside table. These furniture pieces have been in my family for years and now damaged. There were also 5 broken wine glasses, 2 drinking glasses, 1 plate and 1 bowl. The items were also delivered without any wrap or covering as demonstrated at pick up.

Truly the worst experience. Do not use them. Not worth it. Requesting a refund. If I could give them 0 stars I would.

Long-distance move from New York, NY to Los Angeles, CA

A warning about the broker experience

I am bi-coastal and use moving companies frequently to move furniture and electronics from NYC to LA and sometimes to a winter home. I decided to use Pricing Van Lines purely on the basis of the Google reviews. after my experience and much following research I am now positive that the majority of these reviews are fabricated and this company is a bait-and-switch broker.

I hired Pricing Van Lines to broker a move of office furniture from NYC to LA. A man named William Baggett (aka "Rockwell" for some reason) helped me itemize and plan the move. I was very specific about my needs: disassemble and move an office from a 4th floor apartment to a duplex in LA and reassemble. I have all of this in writing.

However, Pricing Van Lines is not a mover. They are a broker. They hired New York City Movers to pack up my stuff. Apparently they didn't pay NYCM for the stairs so NYCM held my furniture hostage AFTER taking half of it until I vemoed them $750 for the stairs. Fine. Another $750. Whatever. They did a nice job disassembling things and packing them.

Flash forward to LA. It took over a month for my things to arrive and while it was way past their estimates, I suppose it's not unreasonable. However, the company who they hired was actually a single man named Peter. Peter has a truck but he decided he doesn't want to use his truck, he wants to deliver with a van. Peter charged me $400 because he needs the van. He then charged $250 because he refused to park in our driveway. Like... what? He could have parked an 18 wheeler outside or even taken the van into the driveway but he purposefully parked farther away to charge extra.

Ok. Whatever. Another $1400 on top of the original $3k+ agreement. It's awful but I can stomach that.

Here's where it gets ridiculous:

80% of my stuff didn't arrive. HALF of my desk, my computer, HALF of a chair, my shoes, monitor stands, speakers, and more. All told, over $10k of missing items. And here's the kicker: of the things that did arrive Mr. Peter refused to re-assemble them. Why? He "doesn't do that." Even though it's in the contract. I called Pricing Van Lines and asked them and they said yes he has to honor the agreement. Ok great! But did they contact him? No. Peter left me with half of my stuff in a pile in the living room.

I told Pricing Van Lines about all of this and again they did NOTHING. After some sleuthing ON MY OWN I was able to track down some of my stuff. I had to buy some new parts, speakers, and commissioned a carpenter to build the missing parts of my desk.

I decided to attempt to charge back the credit card payment to Pricing Van Lines because that would at least cover some of my expenses, but Chase refused on the grounds that someone had signed the delivery document. I tried to explain that that IS NOT my signature and I refused to sign for an incomplete delivery, here we are.

I'm generally a passive consumer who will just pay whatever I'm told, but this experience goes beyond. Way beyond. Somehow, there's NO ACCOUNTABILITY for Pricing Van Lines and my only recourse is an angry review. So here it is.

I wish this wasn't the case but I have to implore you not to use Pricing Van Lines and in fact I implore you to never use a broker for a move. Use a single company that does everything. Mayflower, Allied, I don't care who. At least then you are dealing with one company.

If you have to use a broker, just use anyone but Pricing Van Lines. And do a deep dive of the google reviews. It's sad how easy it is to fake when you can pay a 3rd world Click Farm to generate hundreds of glowing reviews. I wish you the best with your move.

Official company response

Pricing Van Lines is a booking agent who reserves truck space with a carrier for a customer's shipment. This was explained to the customer from the beginning, as well as stated at the top of the very first page of the customer's agreement, in large, bold letters. It is not at all hidden. Secondly, please note that William and Rockwell are two different individuals, not the same person. Thirdly, the customer's payment for stairs was never made through Pricing Van Lines. On the contrary, it was stated on the customer's agreement the amount that they would pay directly to their carrier for stairs. Pricing Van Lines was never supposed to pay the customer's carrier for the stairs. The customer was always supposed to pay this directly to their carrier, as stated on their agreement, as this fee goes directly to them for their additional labor. Lastly, the customer advised us on 9/20/21 regarding missing items from their carrier. We immediately contacted their carrier to assist them with this, and on the following day, 9/21/21, the missing items were delivered. The customer has not contacted us since to advise of anything else missing and / or any other issue. If there is any pending issue that the customer's carrier was unable to resolve, the customer may contact our Customer Service Department directly at either 786-528-6086 or at cs@movingservicesteam.com, and we are happy to assist.

They Don't Give Accurate Quotes

I signed a contract based on their quote for cubic footage. My inventory was accurate according to my carrier but the carrier told me that Pricing Van Lines was not accurate about the real cubic footage. As a result, I had to pay over $400 extra for my pickup charges. Pricing Van Lines did not answer my calls, texts or emails. They also did not respond to my carrier when he tried to reach them Do not let these brokers cheat you! They are dishonest with their bids and will not help you resolve the matter! BEWARE!!!!

Official company response

Unfortunately, we do not feel that this review is accurate or about Pricing Van Lines. Pricing Van Lines does not provide quotes based on cubic feet. This is not a service that we offer. We solely provide estimates binding to items. Pricing Van Lines has tried reaching this individual in order to investigate this complaint and to better assist, however they have not responded. They may get back to us at 786-528-6086 or at cs@movingservicesteam.com so we may help them with this.

The WORST ... just sell your stuff or move yourself

We went with this company because of the reviews with BBB which must have been false, they sent out 2 diff companies to our house the two companies didn't know the other were coming. We had to deal with that. Then the company who came first named First Choice Movers... they broke EVERYTHING. Finally got my items about a month later and soooo much stuff was broken, sent pictures wrote out a long list of events and items and they finally settled with whopping $90 and that needed to notarized before they sent that.

Official company response

Pricing Van Lines was the customer's booking agent. The claim that the customer is referring to was filed with their moving company, not with Pricing Van Lines. Nonetheless, Pricing Van Lines was very sorry to hear that the customer experienced a damage and reached out to the customer to offer the customer additional compensation from our part, as a courtesy to the customer and show of good faith from us. Our offer remains open for the customer, should they wish to accept.

Doucette

I can't believe these guys are still in business. Our move took place in December, 2022 and we are still finding problems with our household goods that have not been unpacked. We have paid thousands of dollars to replace or repair some items. Many things went missing or were damaged. Looks like they fell off the truck. Some things were repacked in other boxes, and some even became damaged during delivery in their effort to unload and set up in our new place. They contracted with a "wrecking crew" who were in too much of a hurry. Charges were added to the original quote to cover articles that they claimed we didn't tell them about. We had no choice but to go along with the program. Be aware! Sometimes the cheapest quote turns out to be the most expensive decision.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $7083

Official company response

Unfortunately, we feel this customer has submitted this review on the incorrect company, consequently this review has been reported. Please note that Pricing Van Lines was hired by the customer as their booking agent in order to book their move reservation for them with their moving company. We were not the customer's moving company nor who the customer's moving contract was with. Nonetheless, we have been trying to reach the customer both by phone and email numerous times in order to offer them our assistance, but the customer does not respond. We are happy to help them and contact their movers for them to assist them in filing a compensation claim, whenever they are able to get back to us. The customer may reach us at 786-528-6086 or cs@movingservicesteam.com.

Long-distance Move

We prepared weeks ahead using the moving company's checklist and schedule. A larger workforce sped up packing and loading. For long-distance items, movers used special containers for electronics and artwork. The delivery was on time, and unloading was organized, with boxes placed correctly to simplify unpacking.
