Long-distance move from California to North Carolina

DO NOT use this company!

I have never been more unsatisfied with a move. We are a Marine family who have moved now 4 times in 2 years. I have always had peaceful moves until this past month. To start off my move they were an hour late to showing up. So I rushed to get things done when really I could of taken my time and spent another hour getting things cleaned and packed. After them arriving he told me I was "well over" my estimate. Which my esitimate was priced at $3200. This would include our 5% military discount. The Vice Presedent who I had the unpleasant honor of speaking with later in the move claims his son is a Marine. Marine moto has always been to look out for fellow Marines and never leave a Marine behind but boy did he leave us behind. In our quote we were told that moving materials were in the quote. Little did they forget to state to you that they will charge you for any and ALL packing materials. They tried to charge me for 30 rolls of tape. My boxes were taped and did not need to be retaped and he then wanted to charge me for it. He then charged me for 3 big boxes which he put smaller items in. Putting small boxes into bigger boxes is not what he was there for, that was making his life easier NOT mine. I should not have to pay to make it easier on them. So after refusing to pay the $676 of packing supplies I signed the papers and payed the ridiculous HALF amount of $2500. I wrote down the first day that I could get my belongings which was Feb 26th. From what I was told it would come on that day if not 2-3 days after, this was a joke. So being 7 months pregnant with a deployed husband, I drove cross country in 3 days, called the movers to find out they had not even left CA yet. He then states they will leave Sunday, the day after I expected my stuff to arrive. I finally get a call Sunday late night saying they left. I heard nothing for 4 days which I then had to call my self to find out what was going on. The truck broke down in Texas yet they did NOT think I needed to know this. After being told the truck broke down I was told for maybe the 5th time that they would call me back. NO call. My husband whom was in another country had to call to get anything accomplished. So the only phone call he had that week, went to our moving company. The truck was broken for 4 days. The truck driver called to have the audacity to yell at me? What kind of company allows their employee's to yell at customers? Monday March 7th after me calling and getting no reply from anyone I finally recieve a call saying they will be there the next day from 12-4. I go to my cold empty house and sit waiting. At 4:30 the driver calls and says I'm sorry we wont be making it at the time we told you. Well obviouslly, that time has come and gone! I call the office to let them know what is going on, Abe of course really could care less but pretends as if he does. Abe and the driver state they wil be there that night at 9 or 10. So I continue to sit at my cold empty house. After sitting there for 12 hours I finally go back to my hotel which I have been paying for, for 8 days! I get a nice early wake up call at 6:30 am from the driver saying he is there. Who calls anyone that early? I told him he would have to wait. I tell the driver when I arrive that I refuse to pay the total amount because of how disaisfied I was and his response was "Ok I will go to my next job." After 15 days of waiting I was not going to let him drive away. I had to go to the bank because of course they do not accept personl checks. This driver was extremely rude and aggressive towards me the entire day he was moving my stuff in. They broke 2 large items I have yet his response was, "well it still works." In the end I was discounted $300 off a $5200 move. That is a joke. I spent over $900 on hotel rooms and that is all they offered me. My 2 children are under the age of 3 and were extremley sick and I had nothing to offer them but the clothes we all wore for 2 weeks. A few simple phone calls could of made this move a little smoother yet it did not happen. I will not stop writing horrible reviews to make sure people know how awful this company is and how they do not care about their customers!

Long-distance move from California to Florida

Beware - Bad Business Practices, Do NOT use this company.

We chose Presto based the companies statement, “We believe that it is our responsibility to service the customer first, last, and always; maintaining intelligent business practices is the recipe for our continued success. Safety, Integrity, Service is our motto, and it’s what we believe are the three most important values that set our company apart from the rest.” Unfortunately, this was not our experience for our long-distance move with Presto. When we booked our move originally we were quoted 371cf total and on the day of pick-up were charged for 625cf total -- a 254cf difference for a one-bedroom 600 square foot apartment, resulting in an additional $1,244.60.   Prior to booking the move, I specifically provided Presto, with almost all of the measurements of our furniture so that this exact situation would not occur (minus some extra boxes and a dresser). We also requested an in-home visual inspection, but Presto stated no appointments were available in our area. We even have another written quote from a different moving company that performed a visual inspection of the same furniture and quoted us approximately the same cubic feet estimate. In addition, I emailed Presto prior to our move informing him that we would need to add a few items to the Inventory List and he stated we can revise the estimate on the day before the move. When he called on the day before the move to confirm a pick-up time, he stated that it was too late to add the items to the inventory and it would have to be done on the day of the move. This is unacceptable and bad business practice and precisely what allows moving companies to arbitrarily increase the total volume on the day of pick-up. Furthermore, on the day of our move, after all of the furniture was completely loaded on the truck and the doors were closed, Carlos Hernandez presented the final cubic feet. We immediately contacted, Ryan Rosendorff, the person we booked the move with and of course he was nowhere to be found, but instead a third party claims company called me back and only offered to re-measure the furniture once it arrived back at their facility – conveniently so that we would not be present for such “re-measure.” Upon arrival Carlos Hernandez (who barely spoke english) quoted $175.00 for crating 5 items, which we agreed to and signed the paperwork, but he did not provide the yellow customer copy to us and it wasn't exactly our priority during a chaotic move. After the move was complete and everything was loaded he again presented the Packing Materials List and added in several more items for a total of $300.00. We were also charged for $60.00 plastic wrap even though only a quarter of the roll was used and for 3 Dish Packs when only 2 were used.  They also left packing materials behind that we had to dispose of. Even though we paid $510.00 for packing materials we still suffered $4,000.00 in damage to our furniture. We have very expensive and fragile furniture and expressed our concerns several times with the Presto employees regarding using the stairs instead of the elevator, which they refused to do. The elevator was located right down the hallway and would have only taken a few extra minutes to use. They stated that it would take too long and had another job to get to. Instead, they negligently loaded all of the boxes and some of the fragile furniture on dollies and dragged it down each step instead of carrying the items down the stairs. As a result, we had several broken items in the boxes and damage to our furniture. As such, we had to pay a $250 deductible.   Also, we were charged a credit card surcharge of 3.5% ($63.38) and according to California Civil Code section 1748.1, a surcharge may not be added when you elect to use a credit card instead of paying by cash.   As far as delivery - Our furniture was delivered a day earlier then the first available date that we provided. We were driving across country and had to drive two 15 hour days in order to make it to Florida in time because they arrived a day earlier.   All in all, our supposed “Good Faith Estimate” of $1,942.00 turned into $3,557.00.                .

Long-distance move from Colorado to New York

Great service for a great price!

I moved about a year ago with presto logistics, they did an amazing job and I would use them again. I moved from Denver Colorado to Brooklyn New York. When I originally contacted them the representative told me that they do not service moves to New York State and she would look into the move and let me know if she could work it out. I was sure she would come back with a negative response but when she called I was pleasantly surprised to hear that she was able to set me up for the move! She also have me a great price! When they moved my stuff they delivered everything in good condition. I will recommend presto logistics to my friends in Colorado! Thanks for the great service y'all!

Long-distance move from Oklahoma to California

Worst Move Ever.

Do Not Move with this company they are theives who will double charge you. I was told $3000 to move which went up to $5600. They lost or stole items and damaged others. The truck that delivered my household goods was too big to fit anywhere. I had to pay for the long carry. They showed up late at pick up and delivery, and took ten hours to pack up the house.  One of them took a several hour nap in the truck while they were there and the supervisor yell at him load enough for my family to hear. They also broke a light and banged the walls at the appartment I moved into. This has been the worst move of my life, I was in the Army for 13 years and have moved with alot of companies so when I say the worst I mean it. The salesman who bid this job underestimated the size, and did not include packing fees and materials. The movers all look like criminals, which is fitting since they robbed me. .

Long-distance move from Oklahoma to Illinois

Be realistic about what to expect.

I cannot say that it was horrible but it wasn't great either, considering the amount they charged.  There were no hidden fees, since I didn't let them. But, when they come and pack, they use already half tapes, etc. I had a coupon so I didn't pay for them, but the amount was a lot. So pack and wrap your own stuff.    I moved a one bedroom apartment, and I left most of my stuff behind. I paid $1600 for a dresser, a matress, a table, 4  chairs, a futton and 12 small (really small, for the books) boxes. They came early in the morning, waking me up, 5 hours earlier than what I was told by the office.  And they wanted to deliver 6 in the morning, and the delivery company was a different one.  I waited for them untill 9:30. Oh, I was awake at 5:00.  So, they are letting your stuff carried by different companies and there is no coordination between the drivers and the office people. So whatever you are going to be told by people you are talking to is only half correct, if you are lucky. They have no control over the real part of the business: moving. They just convince you that they will deliver your stuff and what you are paying is a good deal. Well, it is NOT.  More than half of my plates were broken, the matress was wet, which I didn't even notice since they reassembled the bed hiding the wet part vey well.  My suggestion to everyone which I will do next time I move is:  Rent a truck and move your own stuff. This has been so stresful for me, I see now that I could have done better if I had moved my own stuff. I thought if I paid I wouldn't have to deal with all that stress, and I didn't have time to pack and drive, so I hired these guys. And I am sure mine is one of the least troubled moves. Yet, I will not do it again this way.

Long-distance move from California to Florida

Items poorly packed and items.

Presto Logistics was hired to move my elderly in-laws from Southern California to Central Florida in October 2012. Initially we were all very impressed with contact promptness and follow-up, however that was the ONLY thing good about this company! My in-laws live on a very limited budget so after the initial estimate they decided to only take a portion of their furniture, belongings and all their heirlooms. The packers arrived and we paid to pack their belongings to ship as a part of a larger shipment heading to the East Coast.  Their belongings were moved from their residence to a holding storage facility at Presto Logistics property.  After the movers delivered to the new Florida home unpacking began immediately.  We learned that not only had the boxes NOT been numbered as to 1 or 50 or anything logical, numerous boxes had been packed with ONE ITEM wrapped in paper, I.e., an office stapler, a pair of scissors, etc. – simply to have a box count for pricing!  In addition, the in-laws are from Europe and had numerous heirlooms, some that were hand carried out of communist countries; priceless items! And of course, several boxes of these heirlooms came up missing.  Partial sets of collectibles were delivered.  Calls were immediately placed to Presto Logistics in hopes they could check their storage facility and/or contact individuals who had shipments delivered prior and after.  NOTHING was done to attempt to track down these items, nor would they provide any credit for box after box of items shipped with virtually nothing inside!  After everything was said & done, the in-laws were referred to an insurance adjuster who would only provide $50 dollars for the lost items. We were at the mercy of some third party adjuster and Presto Logistics who could have cared less that an 83 & 76 year old were upset, losing sleep, and begging for someone to search for their items.  I’d recommend NEVER, EVER-EVER using this company!  This was certainly a lesson hard learned.  .

Long-distance move from California to Washington

Not the best, and still unresponsive customer service.

My experience with Presto has been extremely dissatisfying.  The move out was fine, not extraordinary, and I am still not completely comfortable they minimized the cubic footage of my stuff and they definitely went through twice as many rolls of tape as would have been necessary.  I can't imagine if I had a bigger place than a one bedroom. When I called them to give the move to address I felt as though I was inconveniencing them.  When the trip manager called me the day before he didn't even have the move to address.  When they arrived, they refused to drive up my street, but told me they would do a shuttle service with my stuff for $350.  They didn't want to damage their truck with trees hitting it.  I have seen very large trucks go up this street so I am curious how often they have to append these "shuttle services"    The trip manager was trying to work with me, but the driver refused and customer service as well as my  sales account rep were uncooperative other than saying they would reduce the shuttle charge down to $275, when I was already paying $1600 for the entire move and they weren't even going to have to put the items inside a house but rather into storage.  I respect the decision to protect the truck, but  I should not have to be financially responsible for them not driving a reasonable truck for delivery nor them having a "new truck" that they didn't want damaged. We're talking a few pine branches!   I was even told that some drivers are more willing than others.  Again why should I be punished for not having a flexible driver?  This should have been the easiest move in ever.  I even offered to have the items get moved into a neighbor garage towards the bottom of the street to avoid some of the "tree branches" in question.  So long story, not very short: I rented my own U-Haul for $57 and met presto in a walmart parking lot where I had them move my stuff into a uhaul which I then delivered and unpacked myself. My final charges included a full move back in which was highly touted and emphasized in the initial sale but I still had to pay the full amount and then do it all myself.  I left numerous messages with Marisa (who was very nice as well as someone else in their pbx yesterday afternoon and have yet to get a follow up call from the customer service manager or the sales rep. Having worked in hospitality for quite some time this would have been a great opportunity to turn a bad situation into a positive customer trust garnering situation and instead I just feel like they were looking to add additional charges whenever possible throughout the process, severing any potential of customer recommendations/future referrals, etc.  Speaking of damage, I wish that the same care they gave to their truck could have been passed to my items: I have marks on my bookshelves, a missing leg off of a mini ottoman, and a small wood split on my dining room table and I haven't even checked the contents of other boxes for any other damage.  A 5 hour situation could have turned into 1 hour event had someone from Presto given the driver the go ahead to drive the 500 feet up the street and then place the items in the empty garage. I hope I do hear from them so I can discuss this with them further and address an appropriate recourse.  In the meantime, I am curious to hear if other customers have had similar experiences.

Long-distance move from Texas to California

No communications! !!

Presto logistic staffs and customer service are not helpful. They picked up our stuff in Texas and to be shipped in California. It's been 10 days and I haven't got any updates or confirmations from their dispatch regarding when it can be deliver. I called donovan Morgan to follow up our stuff but he has no clue where it is now. I called the customer service and they said they can't see any informations about our shipment. Until now they don't have a clue about what happened to our stuff and it's pisses me off. My family is literally sitting and sleeping on the floor because we don't have our stuff until now. Never hire presto logistic coz they don't care at all. Get a really professional movers!!

Long-distance move from Texas to California

Please do not use Presto! Read my review all the way to the end!

1. My ending balance was DOUBLE the initial quote. 2. They tried to deliver my 1 bedroom apartment furniture to an apartment complex in the city using a 18-wheeler semi truck. The truck was to big to fit into the unloading area and they charged me an additional $350 to take my furniture 30 minutes down the street to their main office to switch over to a normal moving truck then come back and unload. First of all, who delivers furniture to an apartment complex in the city using an 18 wheeler semi truck?? I was devastated that I had to pay $350 extra dollars or they would not deliver my furniture. 3. The movers did not finish unloading my furniture until almost midnight. 4. My lamp and vases were broken. 5. They could not find the screws to my curio cabinet. It's still in pieces. 6. My box spring was ripped. 7. The weekend manager Louis had extremely poor customer service. 8. If they have to go upstairs, they charge extra. 9. If they have to use an elevator, they charge extra. 10. If they have to walk too far, they charge extra. 11. If you are moving state-to-state and Presto Logistics is your ONLY option, I suggest you sell everything you have in your current city and buy all new furniture in your new city.   BEWARE! PLEASE DON'T USE PRESTO!!

Long-distance move from Louisiana to Alabama

Extremely bad experience of life time.

Don't get fooled by the sweet talk in the beginning, once you signed the contract they will be different people. Pick up people will be highly professional, trained but drop off people will not have any clue of how to fix your furniture. Better get uhaul and hire some other professionals and drive your truck by yourself and get your items on time.
Complaints:1) I was given the estimate for 332 CF @$3.5/cf ($1155)  (based on the inventory list) and it became 408 CF @ $3.5/cf (1428)2) Packing material’s estimate was $200 and it became $397 (Estimate of $1355 increased to $1825)3) My move was planned to be delivered by 7/6/2013 and was delivered 11 days late and I was told that they had first available date for the delivery mentioned into their system as 7/10/2013. I found a paper outside my apartment from Presto logistics with a date mentioned on it as 7/6/2013. In short they were dishonest and lied to me.
4) At the time of pick up I was told if I will provide information about small truck vs 18 wheeler I will not be charged for shuttle’s special service and presto will not send 18 wheeler but on the day of delivery an 18 wheeler was sent. When I called the head office and informed them about this inconvenience, I got the reply that they don’t have any of such information put by me and I should have contacted the representative for the confirmation. My representative was Ms Alley B and I was trying to reach her after pick up both via email and phone number (taken from her last email) but I never received any reply from her and her phone (Ph # 818-802-2988 & 1-888-407-3877 would go on voice

I was told I can file claim, it has been almost a month since I have filed a claim about my ALL the damaged furniture but so far I have no answer plus they don't want you to get your furniture repaired until they resolve the issue, in other words you will have to keep the ugly looks of your furniture in your living room, dining room and bedrooms.
