Brokers - Low Bid Move To Get Project - Scam - see BBB reviews

We itemized what we were shipping. A moving company One Source hired showed up for the move and re-estimated the job for double the cost. When I questioned them they said that they would just leave. We had a so called so called gun to our head. One Source refused to pick up or return my calls. All these shady movers will only accept cash.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $11000

Official company response

Hello,
Yes we do broker jobs out like every other national moving company. This is a broker driven industry. When customer have more stuff then described/listed on the paperwork, it has to be charged for. We cannot move lets say 1000 cf when a customer is only contracted for 700cf.
Prior to this pickup we did place a call allowing the customer to make adjustments to the inventory list, which they did and signed a new revised agreement.
Later, on-site with the carrier they had even more required space they'd be taking up on the truck, this does indeed have to be paid for. Using the word scam is simple an ignorant statement when it comes to the cost increase. Customers are in full control of the cost of their move as they dictate what is being moved. We are here to ensure the guys show up on the agreed upon time and execute the job properly.
We are sorry the move came to this point, we will continue to do our best with every job we come in connection with and we wish the Wiswesser's the best.

Long-distance move from California to Kansas

D NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY

If I could give less than 1 star I would. I moved 1/25 from California to Kansas and was set with a better well know company when I received a call from Brendan C at One Source Van Lines. He told me he could beat the price given by the other company due to a cancellation headed there anyway. We also discussed my amount of things to move and he encouraged I bring more due to it being a small move. I also spoke about needing my things by 1/25 if possible. He said that was no issue. He said his team would be handling the pick up and that they were not a broker. ALL OF THIS WAS A LIE!!! When the movers came to pick up my stuff it was a different company. They stated the price would be 2x the original price because of the stuff I had. When I had been very clear about all my things. After picking up our stuff I tried talking to one source. I could not speak to Brendan again. Holly explained it was more because I had an extra box spring than they thought. When I asked for their US Dot number suddenly she couldn't answer anymore. I later found out my stuff would not arrive until 2 weeks after the date we had spoke about. They didn't even ship my things until the 25th.

I am not one to leave reviews but, this was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a company. They lie and steal from their vulnerable customers who are already dealing with the stress of moving. I wish their were more reviews for this company to know to stay away and that is why I am leaving this.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!! THEY WILL LIE AND SCAM YOU!!!!

Faultless service!

This team looked after us throughout the entire process. Dates and addresses were repeatedly confirmed. When our schedule changed, they were accommodating. The team that arrived to pack my mother's belongings was gallant and professional, as well as swift and meticulous. Delivery was flawless and carried out correctly!

Long-distance move from Bozeman, MT to Fort Collins, CO

Very Frustrating Experience

I have never hired a moving company before, but my new job was paying for relocation expenses. The first man I spoke to was great, and we got everything set up for my move. About a week later, a different employee called me to inform me that based on how big I said my storage unit was, there was no way I had the number of boxes that I listed. He insisted I must have way more boxes, and that I needed to pay for more room. He would not listen to me and I had to say multiple times I would not be paying for any extra room before he believed I knew how many boxes I actually had. Once my pick up window rolled around, I had received no further communication. I called the customer service number multiple times, left messages, and got no response. I finally got in touch with someone in the middle of my pick up window, and they said the truck had broken down. That's ok, it happens. I agreed to extend my pick up window and have a friend let them into my storage unit, since I needed to move and start my new job. I said any day would work except that Friday because my friend would be working all day, so Friday was not an option. Fast forward to that Friday, and I get a call from the movers that they are ready to come get my stuff that day. I told them that no, Friday was not an option and no one was available to let them in. The movers then called me multiple times over the next hour or so to complain that I was not ready, that I needed to get this sorted out and meet them at the unit. I very clearly told them it was not going to happen that day, and they continued to call me. They hung up on me in the middle of a phone call, and that's when I stopped answering their calls. I called the customer service line, multiple times again because they wouldn't answer, and explained that I had been very clear with everyone that Friday was not an option. They seemed confused and like they did not know that. One man said I should have informed them Friday wouldn't work, which I did, and that I was now messing up their delivery schedule. I don't know how much clearer I could have been about Friday not being an option.

I was then told they would have to figure out a future pick up window and it could be weeks from now. At this point I have already had to extend my storage unit and pay more money on that, so I requested to cancel the service and handle it all myself. I had continuously been given no information, had to call multiple times and speak to multiple people to get any sort of updates, and my preferences had been ignored. They clearly have massive communication issues among their employees/departments. Now, the reason I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1 is because the woman I spoke to in their cancellation department, Daisha, was an absolute angel. She was the only helpful and communicative person throughout this whole process except the very first man I spoke to (I don't know his name). She informed me that I could only get 50% of my money back at the very maximum because of the initial contract's cancellation policy. I understand that I had agreed to those terms, but the company also broke the contract by picking my stuff up way later than we agreed upon. Daisha convinced me to give the company another chance so I wouldn't lose that money.

Daisha coordinated to get my stuff picked up, and that part went relatively smoothly. The pick up date still got changed multiple times that week and I had to keep putting my friend out for longer. Once they finally arrived, my friend wrote in their paperwork that my earliest delivery date was the very next day. Five days after the pick up, I had still not heard anything from the company. I called in, multiple times with no response, and when someone finally answered they informed me that I had not specified my earliest delivery date yet, which was not true. So once again, I gave them my earliest delivery date as the next day. I got a call a few days later with a three day delivery window (yay!), Friday-Sunday, and was told I would be called that Thursday with an update on which day my delivery would be. Thursday comes and goes with no phone call. I call in Friday afternoon, and they don't know when the driver will be able to drop off the stuff. Throughout this experience, almost nothing they have told me has been true. They tried to upsell me on more space I did not need. Every time they've said "we will call you by this day" I receive no phone call. Absolutely awful communication. Every person I've talked to except Daisha and the very first guy have had no idea what was going on. It's been extremely frustrating. This process was meant to make my move easier, and I fully regret hiring this company.

I am never using One Source Van Lines again, and I will actively discourage my friends and family as well. If you are considering this company, just know that as soon as they encounter any issues their whole operation and communication falls apart. You have been warned, good luck.

Long-distance move from Adona, AR to Churchville, NY

Great attitude

I can’t thank David enough for his tremendous assistance; he has been very gentle throughout. The process was nice; however, there were a few things that made the relocation take a while longer and pinched me. I’m delighted I chose them to assist me. They have been fantastic from beginning to end. I would employ them again in an instant for any future relocation.

Long-distance move from Bozeman, MT to Colorado Springs, CO

Poor estimate and not enough movers

They are nothing but a broker who hires another moving company for the lowest bid to them. You are better to hire a company yourself. The very friendly and helpful people were nowhere to be found when things went bad. Our estimate of 11K ended up costing 25K. They promised 4-5 people and a full size semi truck. 3 people and a rented box truck showed up.
