Long-distance move from Georgia to North Carolina

Nationwide was great!

I couldn't be happier with the quality of this moving company. I moved last minute, and was only able to contact them three weeks before I needed to move, but their customer service helped me every step of the way, and the movers who both picked up and delivered my items were incredibly friendly, polite and helpful. They stayed in constant contact to keep me updated with the status of the move, and made sure any question I had was answered quickly and completely.

The price included an extra fee for carrying stuff down off a third floor apartment, which is understandable, however the movers charged nothing for their both quick and very careful wrapping of my furniture items. Every charge was exactly (or in some cases less!) than they explained it would be before they arrived, and they didn't nickel and dime us at all.

I can not say enough about how friendly and professional the movers who both picked up and delivered my items were. They not only were incredibly pleasant to deal with but after delivery they even stopped to tighten the bolts on my coffee table, which were loose before it was ever picked up!

The only damage to my items was one box of books that I packed myself, which due to over packing split its seams (though the items inside were fine). Also, nothing at all was missing or stolen.

They came early, calling and politely asking if they could pick up a day early, which we agreed to. But because it was picked up early, they asked if they could deliver the next day (On a GA to NC move) however we weren't traveling to the new place until a few days later. This meant they had to store our items, but they declined to charge extra for that, since the change in time was theirs, not ours. Also, they called when they came both times, and while the window was always 8am to 12pm, both times they came around 9am, and were done long before 12 rolled around.

Not only would I use the company again for any moves I make in the future, and recommend them to anyone who asks an opinion, I'll also make sure to have bottled water on hand for the movers, after seeing how happily grateful they were to have such a simple nicety offered them.

Excellent Job Nationwide.

Second time using Nationwide. Second experience was as good as the first. All aspects of my experience was outstanding! I am exceptionally greatful to the moving guys who transported my grandfather clock. They did an exceptional job packing, transporting and setting up the clock. They were very polite, professional and clean.Tina Hoyt (CSR) gets 5 stars also. Tina does not sound like the typical uninspired reading from a script person I encounter so frequently. Tina actually cares and followed up with me several times inquiring how my experience was. Thanks alot everyone Brian Thomas.

Long-distance move from New York to South Carolina

Nationwide Van Lines.

Overall, we were pleased with how quickly our house was packed up and unloaded.  The driver called and were able to start packing a day earlier than we were expecting, but this worked out well.   My only complaint ( and I take the blame for NOT reviewing the item list as well as I should ), is when doing a telephone walk through with Stenglar, I had verbally told of each piece of furniture in each room.  Whether he heard, or couldn't keep up with the items, many weren't on the item count sheet, thus the IMPORTANCE of going over the sheet and adding what was missed!  So, the truck didn't have the space to hold all left out items.  Uzi did well in packing, and I had to make decisions as to what to bring and what to leave out.  Although, one example on sheet was dresser, mirror - this is JUST mirror, hmmm, needed the dresser too.  Overall, the crew was helpful.

Delivery.

Whole experience with your company was 5 star or better.  The delivery went very smoothly and the delivery person (Uzi) was top notch.  We was courteous, efficient and extremely professional.  We had a delivery to a storage unit and asked if your company could deliver locally once we purchased out home next year.  We asked if we could request him but of course we can't. I would recommend your company and employees (pick up as well as delivery) to anyone and have already done so to some friends moving down this way.
Thanks for a very smooth and enjoyable move. Normally very stressful but your company made it very easy.

Long-distance move from Florida to Georgia

Florida to Georgia Move.

This was the second time I have used Nationwide for our move. This last time was the best experience I have ever had with a moving company and their drivers. Alana was phenominal and very much on top of things. She was able to get us a great price and was very helpful with allowing us to adjust our actual pick up date several times throughout the process. She was extremely friendly and I felt very comfortable picking up the phone to call her whenever I had a question. The drivers called and communicated with me very well regarding their arrival time. Hector and Marvin were very thorough and careful with all of our boxes and furniture. When it began to rain, they stayed inside and finished wrapping all of the furniture and moved it to the garage so that they wouldn't track mud and water all over the floors. Despite a 20 day window for deliver, they were able to deliver within 2 days of picking up and it was an out of sate move. Upon deliver I was very impressed with how they got the heavy furniture up the stairs and were very good about putting each box in the correct room. Marvin even took a moment to help us hook up the washer and dryer after bringing them in! Their service went above and beyond anything I had experienced before. Though I hope to not have to move again, if I did, I would use Nationwide and request for Hector and Marvin! There were amazing and I would highly recommend their crew!

Long-distance move from New York to Florida

Moving from NY to Florida.

My move was complicated by the fact that we didn't know when or if our house closing would go through. I had a mover all lined up, had the quote but hadn't signed the contract. By the time I knew when our closing would happen, the mover was completely booked and couldn't accommodate us. I was left with two weeks until our closing with no moving company. That's when I went online and found Nationwide Van Lines through one of the moving quote sites. I received a call the same day from Christian and found they could meet our move out date. The process was fairly painless and the price for full-service moving was fair. Christian was very friendly and professional and answered all my questions throughout the move in a prompt manner. Agustin and his moving crew, Jose and Caesar, were fabulous. They were careful packing all of our things, regardless of their worth, and everything arrived intact. They did the same delivering our items, as well, although it took 17 days to get here. Overall, I think Nationwide did a great job for a reasonable price. .

Long-distance move from Massachusetts to Virginia

Move from Mass. to Virginia.

The whole experience with Nationwide has been great.  I first contacted them and spoke to Reggie.  He was very helpful and honest, and trust me, you want honesty when dealing with a company that would be handling your personal belongings and furniture (and coming into your house). Reggie explained everything clearly and we agreed upon the moving date and he gave me a quote (and that was what I paid!!), fantastic that you get a quote and they are accurate.  As long as you know what you are sending, they can provide a very accurate quote.

Then came the move, again the experience was great.  Dispatch informed me when they would be coming.  I called back dispatch and got the driver's name and number.  I called the driver, Uzi and he told me when he'd be arriving the next day.  Uzi was very efficient and he took care in wrapping all items and assuring me that I don't have to worry about my TV.  After packing and moving everything, they managed to do it without any damange to walls or carpet, fantastic!!  Needless to say, the same level of professionalism was seen at delivery.  They arrived a little later than expected (DC traffic is terrible), but were very quick to move everything up and arrange it as needed.  I almost forgot, they took things apart and assembled them again.
If I needed to move again, I would not hesitate to call Nationwide again and I've readily recommended them to several friends. .

Long-distance move from New York to Virginia

Pleasant moving experience !

I was impressed with the moving service provided by Lisandro and his crew.  They moved and packed my things for the move from Grand Island, New York to Leesburg, Virginia.  Everything went very smoothly. When my furniture arrived, I was very pleased to the same moving crew who packed the furniture also came to unpackit. That was a very pleasant experience.
I will recommend to anyone and especially my daughter for any long distance moves in the future,.

Long-distance move from Florida to New Jersey

Worst move in many aspects.

I've moved with other companies in the past and have never had such a bad experience. In addition to their practice of suppressing negative reviews through signed settlement contracts, you should avoid Nationwide Van Lines because KNOWINGLY send out movers that are unprepared and behave unprofessionally and who cause damages to your property. Despite the fact that Nationwide Van Lines, Inc. sent out a mover that has received multiple complaints and has since been dismissed from their company, their claims process is inexplicably slow. It took them over 30 days to even acknowledge the receipt of my claim and over three months to process the claim.
Here are some details about my move:
1. Unprofessional behavior:
On pickup, the movers strongly hinted to me 3 to 4 times to generously tip them, as this is not an easy job and that they're the ones doing all the hard work. They also told me that if I took care of them with a tip, then they would take care of me. This is not acceptable behavior. Any person in this scenario would believe that if they didn't tip them, then they would not take care of their stuff.
They completely missed both pickup and delivery windows. The pickup window was from 9 am - 1 pm. They didn't arrive until 3:30 pm. They blamed it on bad traffic. They spent an hour setting up blankets before they came up to the apartment at 4:30 to start wrapping furniture. I had to stay there until 10 pm before they were finished completely. And this is even with having packed all of the boxes before the move. The delivery window was also from 9 am - 1 pm. They did not arrive until 7 pm. Again, they blamed it on traffic and sent me photos via text of traffic, but they told me they were coming from Virginia, which is only a 4-6 hour drive. They were not finished until 11:30 pm, creating a lot of noise for my neighbors, and I received complaints from the leasing office about the noise that they caused at a late hour due to them arriving late.
The method used to wrap the furniture was not done in a professional manner. It left considerable adhesive residue from the tape on the furniture, which I had to carefully remove. Additionally, a lot of the blankets used to wrap the furniture were filthy, leaving lots of black soot for me to wipe up.
2. Unprepared:
They took apart my futon when no other previous movers had taken it apart. This would have been fine with me, but upon delivery, they forgot how to put it back together. Fortunately, I was watching them take it apart and had to give them directions. Also, in order to unwrap the blankets, they needed to cut the tape on there. They didn't even have a box boxer available and asked to use my chef's knife to cut the tape. Fortunately, I had a box cutter available that I provided (Ironically, the box cutter was left over from a previous moving company's move - they were prepared!).
3. Damages:
All of the boxes upon delivery were dented or smashed in some way or the other, which only happens if items were improperly secured or if the movers stacked too many boxes on top of each box. My bike was bent from too much weight being placed on top of it.
There was a large dent/chip into one of my solid wood bookcases on the front that was transported. I noticed upon moving that the movers only wrapped the sides of the bookcases with blankets, leaving sizable gaps for the shelves to be exposed. This would not have happened if they wrapped the bookcases completely. The company considered this damage "cosmetic" and would not even offer the full measly $0.60 per pound.
BOTTOM LINE: If you want any semblance of a professional move, undamaged property, and a responsive company, do not use Nationwide Van Lines. I'll give up my settlement money so other people won't have to go through this awful moving experience.
