Nationwide Moving and Storage LLC

I am planning on an out of state move and chose to investigate Nationwide Moving and Storage. All of the personnel I spoke with were kind, friendly, professional, patient... I tend to ask a lot of questions and they explained the answers thoroughly and until I understood them. They worked with me to find a price point that would fill my needs and I scheduled my move:) But. My plans changed and I had to cancel my move. I had paid a down payment and feared I had lost it:( But. They assured me that I would receive it back:) I was happy and relieved:) If I ever need a mover again, I will surely call on them:)

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2698

My wife, three children & I were shocked to find out our corporate office relocation would be happening much sooner than expected. We called multiple different moving companies, got multiple different quotes ranging from $9k to $4.5k. After I spoke with their booking agent, Max, I finally felt that I genuinely found a trustworthy coordinator to help ship my family’s furniture, clothes and priceless keepsakes. He educated me on how the process works, and answered all my tough questions.

I absolutely THRILLED with my moving experience.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $5500

What a nightmare!!! My sister in CA has COPD and is on oxygen and is moving to MO. I tried to help since she doesn't have a computer and can't look things up online. Nationwide contacted me to give me a quote. I thought they looked reputable and the Rep. seemed very nice , helpful, and knowledgeable. He sent the estimate to me 1/28 and I put down the deposit. (1st mistake) 2nd pay due when 2 guys showed up in a Penske truck. They did not follow the inventory list given . Took no furniture, only packed boxes in the garage. Had full pack service added for an additional $705 which they did none of. One guy did the moving while the other sat in the truck. Said load used additional cu/ft so estimate was now higher. My sister didn't have the extra funds so gave them $2000 cash, (2nd mistake) the guy told her the extra would be added onto the balance at delivery. Made her sign new estimate and never gave her a copy. No communication at all after they left. Didn't even know what company they were with or how to contact them. I called Nationwide 3/3 to see where they were at. Lady said it was her day off but she would try to get that info and would call my sister. Never did! I called again 3/11. Had heated short conversation. Then my sister got a message she could barely understand wanting her to send an extra $5442.00 by Zelle or Venmo which we never agreed to as a method of payment. Estimate has now doubled since the 1st one. Last payment was to be made at time of delivery. Where's the truck? Not one thing has been the way we were told and has caused a lot of stress and hardship. My sister had to cancel a flight, already had her oxygen transferred here. closed her bank account, had to pay an extra month's rent at both ends, among other set backs. Nationwide is only after your money and doesn't care about anything else! I was willing to settle the balance if they would deduct the $705 service they didn't provide, but can't even talk to anyone decent to do that. Please don't be scammed like we were. They took full advantage of my sister in her condition instead of trying to help her. She is 74.

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $9964

As a veteran I am not satisfied with this organization. My first complaint...I did not realize Nationwide was going to sub contract the move until the driver showed up. Second, the driver assured me they would show up on the 15th. On the 15th they called and said they would be here on the 16th. Upon loading my stuff the driver said we went over our space by 280 cubic feet. However, they wanted double the amount quoted. First he said we had a total of 600 cubic feet then said it was 700 cubic feet. He was changing his mind from minute to minute. Our charge more than doubled. They also left a bunch of broken decorations and screws all over our driveway and we cleaned it up. We have called customer service and they were supposed to call us on Wed but no one has called us. I called customer service again and got only voice mail

I will say this, my intake person really knows how to do her job, everything else was horrible. I paid for a binding quote, yet was charged almost double the amount quoted. I'd like Nationwide to pay back the overage, this is not a fair practice. A binding quote is a contract and Nationwide should abide by the quote.

I was told my move dates would be Saturday the 4th or at the latest Sunday the 5th; I called Thursday, Friday and Saturday only to be told, "we do not have an ETA yet, but will later this afternoon, we will call you then." Never once got a call back. I was never told that Nationwide was a broker (I now know for future moves to ask more questions). I felt like I was on hold for days.

When the actual movers finally came Monday morning and then increased my costs by double, I burst out in tears as people like myself are on a fixed income and are depending on that binding quote, especially in this current economy. It is disgusting how this company operates and then doesn't pick up the phone. It is disgusting how this company deceives you and is not straightforward about their operations. It is disgusting how this company does not lay out everything up front and those of us picking up the pieces after the fact are stuck.

I will never use Nationwide again and advise others not to as well.

My experience has been the worst I have ever had with a moving company . I still don’t have my belongings and email and calling I get no answers as to where my belongings are. They use 3rd party carrier and carrier they do not use their own trucks. Customer service says we don’t know where it is but we have dispatch contact carrier and someone will call or email you back. It’s been 5 days and nothing. Email department says to call and also they are checking with dispatch. DO NOT USE this broker to move. I have paid $4000 so far and my belongings are missing.
