Long-distance move from Coachella, CA to Chehalis, WA

Seamless Move from CA to WA.

Sam Meredith, Nat'l Van Lines Rep:

As you probably know the final delivery has been completed. My brother in Washington told me that the delivery went well and the workers were very good.

We would like you and National to know that we were very impressed with the entire process from start to finish.

Personally, I can tell you that the professionalism, efficiency, and communication skills displayed by all during the process was top notch.

Last but not least, it was YOUR customer service skills, calmness and clarity of the process that reeled me in to choosing National Van Lines. I’m so grateful!

Kudos and Thanks to all involved.

Local move within Florida

Wonderful Company to use During a Typical Stressful Time.

If perfection is unattainable, the experience of working with this company was as close to perfection as it could be! Our representative, Sam Meredith, was very professional, knowledgeable, patient, and responsive whenever we needed him. The movers themselves were as close to perfect as perfect can be. William, our main mover was professional, polite, and took any extra step we requested. He even offered the extra step. During a normally stressful time, Sam and William did everything they could to alleviate any stress, within their power. Side note, we have a very difficult couch. It's big, wide, bulky, and we went from apartment to apartment with thin hallways. Previous movers/delivery guys complained and threatened to not be able to bring it in. William, in a refreshing change of pace from previous movers, said, "We'll get it, don't worry," and sure enough did it with no complaints. The next time we need a moving company, we're going to specifically request Sam as a rep, and William as a mover. 5 out of 5!

Long-distance move from Florida to Indiana

You're Not the Boss.

I've never paid so much to be told I had no choice in the process. If I hear " you know of course, he she is now the boss" regarding the packing, and transportation of my home goods, I shall scream

Packers arrive. One woman 2 teen. "Where do you want us to start" The garage. "Oh we don't pack garages" Liquids,et. Perhaps ,5 % of the garage was liquid" Same reply with canned goods, clothes closets etc When led by hand the boys wrapped a couple pictures, some dishes.

After I could not find 2 crew members, I'd had enough. I sent them home. The crew boss reply? A very sarcastic "Good luck getting this all packed yourself". Really funny as one of the things "we don't pack" was my walker.?

Moving day. Truck arrives. Of course I'm not ready. Suffice to say had my Son not been there to intercede, perhaps 45% would have been moved . But the boys loading pitched in & about 70% went In spite of vehement protests by the driver.

Local contract help.

Delivery day. Fully paid Must say, National is incredibly prompt in demanding payment prior to unloading

The "boss" driver took 35 minutes & 3 people to bump a dock a trainee could negotiate.

But finally unloading begins. We're in a pandemic. No gloves, no masks. And this driver has been running up to the East coast

Signatures required . I watched my Son sign papers the driver continually licked his finger to move. At no time did he attempt distancing.

I am terrified my family has been needlessly exposed to the virus.

Summation. Some of the contract was fulfilled. The goods accepted arrived on time.

Due to nonexistent covid precautions however, additional quarantine time will be required.

However, my experience between Sam's Express Moving & National Van Lines was bullying. Pure and simple. The tools, equipment craft supplies lost are proving difficult & expensive to replace.

But then, I'm "not the boss". I'm just the owner of the goods I paid over $1,200 for you to "pack. I'm just the one who paid a total of over $6,000 to have my Son's health endangered accepting goods from a driver & crew ignoring social distancing. Not to mention basic hygiene. It's wash your hands. Not lick them.

But, as I was told numerous times, am not the boss.

Were I the boss gentlefolk, this farce of customer service would never be tolerated.

Long-distance move from Houston, TX to Charleston, SC

Cross County Move of 2 households.

Moving across the country during COVID-19 is a challenge for sure. Aaron Bacon and Marvin (our truck driver) and their movers did amazing work in getting us to our new house. Communication was always there to keep us apprised of the status and they were on time. We moved to two separate houses at one time and they pulled it off flawlessly. I definitely recommend and would use them again. Thanks y'all!!

Long-distance move from Seattle, WA to Ann Arbor, MI

Late, terrible communication

Packing and loading by a local carrier was fine.

Unfortunately my story seems similar to a few others here and on Google reviews; the communication problems have not been fixed.

Our initial delivery window for a 2300 mi move was 8 days long, and 4 days into it without hearing a peep from NVL I called them to see if they knew a firmer date. That’s when they told me that the truck had not yet left the origin city. But since there were still a few days left in the window it wasn’t late yet. I asked them to call me the next day or if anything changed, and they never did. At the end of the delivery window I called again and they told me the truck would be leaving in 3-4 days. But they were supposed to call me if something changed! 4 days later, when the truck was supposedly going to leave, I called again and now hear that the driver was unassigned (again without telling me) and now the delivery date will be in another 10 days - 2 weeks after the end of the initial 1-week delivery window. They offered compensation per day, I asked for the proposal to be sent in writing to my email and -surprise- it never arrived. I asked for them to call me every day even if there were no changes, and they never did. At this point I have no reason to believe the dates they tell me, or that I’ll even be notified when plans change.

My family just wants to resume our lives.

Long-distance move from Wisconsin Rapids, WI to Washington, VA

Excellent

I used National Van Lines to move furniture from Wisconsin to Virginia, and they did a great job. Aaron Bacon from Chicago planned my move and kept me informed along the way. Aaron was pleasant to deal with and always available to respond to my “where is” questions. The movers who delivered today were great! I would use them again, hopefully not too soon!

Long-distance move from Berkeley, CA to Portland, OR

Two moves

I had two separate moves in two days with National. The first, from Berkeley, CA to Portland, OR, was managed by Robert Smith and his crew. They were fantastic...very efficient and friendly. Everything arrived in perfect condition.

The second move was fromBerkeley, CA to Brookline, MA.. Lars Harvey, who was the boss of this one, and his crew were terrific...also very efficient and friendly. Again everything arrived in perfect condition.

Aaron Bacon at National was the one that organized these moves. He was a pleasure to work with and was very pleasant about all the emails I sent him adding and subtracting items from both moves. Each move included deliveries at two households; they were flawless. I highly recommend National and would certainly use them again.

Long-distance move from California to Florida

MOVERS FROM HELL. totally Unprofessional

I wish I could give them negative stars.

We moved from CA to FL. It was a nightmare. I booked with a small local company who outsourced our move to them and we had no clue who was in charge of what part.

1. We were already in FL and called them after a week and learnt that our stuff did not even leave CA. I called them every day and they kept making excuses. Yes, the emailed me often as status update (like every 2 days) which said “we are still locating trucks for your upcoming move”. Seriously.

2. Every time I called, I got a new person and no progress on my move. They told me that I had spoken to EVERYONE in their office. That is how much they gave me run for my money.

3. There was totally broken communication between their head office and actual movers who actually delivered our stuff to our apt.

4. On the day of delivery, movers arrived 3 hours late.

5. My BIGGEST complaint is about attitude of the movers who delivered our stuff to our apartment. They were late by FEW hours. As soon as they arrived, they wanted to rush as they were already late for next delivery. They yelled at me. It is a 1 bedroom apartment and they were so lazy that they threw everything right in front of door. My poor husband had to MOVE EVERYTHING. And at top of it, they kept complaining of everything (too many boxes, this bag is way too heavy, you delaying us), singing songs and the older gentleman who seems to be the one running the show just kept blabbering in strange English that neither one of us could understand.

6. They were missing our mattress (the biggest item).

7. They could not put together 1 basic futon frame. My husband had to do it with them. Our futon frame was the only piece that required assembly and part of their job, but they complained non-stop about it.

8. After whole day of trying to talk with their head office who had no clue of anything, truck driver finally located our mattress around 5:30pm and promised to bring it within 1 hour. My husband called him directly every half an hour and he kept saying he is on his way. He arrived at 9pm.

9. Driver came alone (his helper was gone) and told my husband that “YOU CAN JUST CARRY IT BY YOURSELF” in pouring rain. This is not my husband’s job, who still helped the guy in carrying the mattress in our apt. There was no dolly, no wheels (as driver was too lazy) and they had to carry it from parking into our apt. The protective cover of mattress was missing.

10. They did not wear masks or gloves.

11. All of our stuff smelled of rodent pee, including our mattress. 2 additional items were broken.

12. We had bought extra insurance and filed the claim.

Long-distance move from Austin, TX to Abiquiu, NM

Our recent move with NVL

NVL’s driver, Damon Clark, and his grandson, Sebastian, moved us from Austin to a town near Santa Fe, NM. He was reliable, punctual, trustworthy, pleasant to work with, loaded and unloaded exactly as we asked including leasing a shuttle truck for the delivery location’s icy steep, 1-lane dirt road with tight hairpin bend and narrow gated access. So far not a single piece of damage even though we packed ourselves. Awesome job Damon & Sebastian, and happy holidays !!

Long-distance move from Denver, CO to San Diego, CA

Simple, Seamless and Satisfactory!!!

We are completely satisfied with National Van Lines. We moved from Colorado to California. Our first contact was Aaron Bacon. He was able to set up the move and provide an estimate by email since we are not always able to answer the phone; this was very convenient. Aaron always responded promptly and answered all of our questions.

The move went very well. Our mover Nate called to let us know that he'd be there on a Wednesday morning, and he was-as promised. The guys were very friendly and respectful.

They took special care with all of our furniture. We were impressed with how much they wrapped everything. We were the only family on the truck, which meant that they were going to be in San Diego in a couple days, so we high-tailed it out of town. We beat them to our new home, but Nate kept us in the loop about where he was and his status.

Just as when they packed all of our stuff up, they took special care unwrapping it, and offered several times to put our bed together and help with organizing the furniture. On a personal note, all of the guys were very personable and we had some great conversations. After not really talking with strangers for over a year, it was nice to just talk with people and joke around.

Whenever we move again, we'll definitely contact Aaron and request mover Nate. They made a stressful situation into a seamless and easy one.
