Long-distance move from Charlotte, NC to Suffolk, VA

Late and unprepared

I did not have a good experience with this company. From the very beginning they tried to change my pickup date at the last minute. Next they didn't bring the proper ramp to load my small car. They had to drive my car halfway to the shipping location to load it onto the moving truck. They left my gas on empty and it was on full when they picked it up. I paid to an additional $600 to have my car shipped to keep the mileage down on my car. they did NOT reimburse me for the shipping fee of my vehicle. Half would have been fair. They also, delivered my total shipment 2 days late if the promised. Shipping date. I paid this company a total of $2338.38 for this experience. Did I mention I packed all my belongings myself in tubs and had no more had no more than 20 items shipped. This company does NOT except responsibility or reimburse/ compensate their customers properly. I will recommend this company to any in the future.

Communication was speedy, the crew was on time friendly and efficient, and the no surprise costs from the first estimate!! I can’t thank Aaron Bacon and Jimmy Lanager enough for such excellent service! I wasn’t expecting the process of working with movers to be the easiest part of my move. THANK YOU

Long-distance move from Naperville, IL to Livermore, CA

Fantastic service

We’re so pleased that we chose to work with National Van Lines for our move from Illinois to California and we could not have been happier with the service we received! I was quite taken aback when I first started shopping for moving companies by the numerous online reviews narrating horror stories about what ordeals one’s furniture and personal belongings could go through at the hands of unprofessional moving companies so I was a bit nervous and worried about how things could go wrong. After contacting a few companies and getting their quotes, I was even more confused because of the conflicting information I was given: they all claim themselves not to be brokers so they would not outsource the actual moving project but they all demand a high percentage of the total charge as deposit. My conversations with them just left me feeling unsure about their professionalism. Fortunately I reached out to National Van Lines and Aaron Bacon, our moving coordinator, immediately did a virtual survey of our house and provided us with a quote of a flat rate charge. Aaron is super friendly and knowledgeable, and just by speaking with him I felt assured that I finally found a professional moving company and our stuff would be in good hands. Aaron also informed me that they do not charge a deposit at the time of booking or pickup and we only need to pay once in full at the time of delivery. Aaron stayed in touch with us for the confirmation of pickup date and the driver he connected with us is superb. Arthur Zmuda, our driver, is very helpful as well. He is punctual and his team works with a high standard of professionalism. They dissembled, packed and re-assembled our furniture with care so that nothing got damaged during the moving process. No delay whatsoever with delivery! The efficiency and professionalism this team works with saved us incredible amount of hassle and we highly recommend working with Aaron and Art for your cross-country relocation!

Transport of family antiques to my daughter in California

Aaron Bacon was a good guide for my way forward in transporting my family heirlooms to my daughter, Rose, in San Jose CA. He helped me through the small print to choose the best fit for me and gave me clear expectations. John Lloyd, the driver and his crew were very careful with the vintage items and everything arrived in good shape. Thank you for a good experience, Sarah Province

Long-distance move from Seattle, WA to Goodyear, AZ

Would recommend to anyone!

My entire experience was as smooth as can be from beginning to end. Aaron Bacon helped me upfront and gave me a very reasonable rate that beat every other competitor's price. I was really nervous about this move from Seattle to Phoenix by myself and Aaron helped prepare me. Junicci and crew picked up my things in Seattle. They were on time and helped me pack my TV's and a few other items I had a hard time packing. They were so friendly and no walls or items were damaged. My stuff arrived early and ahead of schedule in Phoenix and Junicci and the crew in Phoenix were fantastic! They even worked on New Year's Day! All of my items arrived unscathed and in perfect shape. I would recommend National Van Lines to anyone, such a great, positive experience! Also important to note, the price I was quoted by Aaron Bacon, was the price I paid.

Always a good experience

This was my second time using NVL and just as my first time, I knew my possessions were in good hands.

Aaron Bacon, who I worked with both times, has great communication skills. He explained how this process would work, was able to answer any questions, update me on timelines & would check in, in between.

The pick up crew was nothing short of helpful. Shocker that we were not as prepared as we thought. They were patient, helpful and kind. Also hilarious which made everything less stressful!

My drop off crew, Laimus Petkevicius and his men, we’re so kind and attentive. Laimus takes extra care of folks belongings and makes sure his crew is working as effectively as possible. He really goes the extra mile and I’m happy I got to work with him.

Thank you to all the folks who helped get me settled! I’ve already recommended NVL to folks and will continue to.

Excellent service

Job offer was received - move was completed within 1 week. Everything has happened very quickly - from the offer to actual move. Aaron Bacon, coordinated everything in a very professional, efficient manner. Driver Harold Hess was very kind and understanding. Hopefully my next move can be better planned on my part.

Thank you. You made a stressful move less difficult.

Long-distance move from West Simsbury, CT to Tulsa, OK

I liked National but they sold my move

I hired National because their agent made it sound like my move was going to be in good hands. However, they hired 2 other companies to physically move me. RA movers -loading company showed up hours late- he overslept and arrived at 4:30 pm. and he had only 1 helper, who wasn’t physically fit. and had rented a small Uhaul which barely fit my items - they literally put items in the cab and on the roof, because they were taking to a warehouse 2 hours away. My furniture smells like smoke- possibly from the loader, warehouse.

Two and a half weeks later RelaxRelocations picked up my load. National and RelaxR- both knew that my destination, a gated apartment complex requires a shuttle-large trucks not allowed. However, Enrique, the supervisor calls me at 5pm, on the day they are supposed to arrive (5 days beyond the end of my delivery window), and the big truck is blocking traffic on thebusy main road - was he going to cut corners, have his guys carry my furniture a block, through the gate. One lane of the road was blocked in other direction due to construction, too. I sent them to get the shuttle…then Enrique calls and says my credit card payment to National was a few hundred short, and he won’t release my stuff. I tell him National told me to deduct $50 per late day. I stayed around, not knowing when they’d be back. After 9, Enrique texts that the movers will show up next morning at 7am. They show up, goes Ok…one nightstand wasn’t mine, so I had them put it back on Uhaul truck…However, they needed to make a 2nd trip with Uhaul to pick up my dresser. I gave my gate remote to the movers get out and back into the complex, but unfortunately, they didn’t pull the truck all the way out, the gate hit it and was damaged. I informed Enrique when I learned of this, he kept trying to blame me, pressure me into taking responsibility. Later, .I submitted the apartment manager’s estimate of repairs to National Van lines, who forwarded to Enrique. He called me , saying Karma was going to get me, he knew what I did, and they complained because I wouldn’t let them move me in from the street on the prior night.

Lastly, his movers worked hard. However, they did not attach the base to my TV. I called Enrique about that. He insisted I did not pay extra for that service. I had paid for packing and unpacking/ assistance with TV. They left, then I discovered the base/stand of TV was not in the box with the TV. I had to call National-yes they were supposed to set up TV, then call about the missing base. Enrique denies having the base on the truck ( he isn’t there, he’s in TX on his phone) , yet his guys brought it to me at 7pm…Enrique must have called me 10 times about the TV.

But, when he called me a week later over the bill for the gate and threatened me, that was it. I reported his call to National Van Lines, and blocked him on my phone.

National was good, just sorry that they subcontracted my move out to a weirdo.

DAMAGED FURNITURE AND REFUSED INSURANCE CLAIM

A nightmare experience. They were the most expensive quote I received and unfortunately I did NOT receive the service I was promised. The driver was extremely unprofessional with several hours of delays on both pick-up and delivery dates with ZERO communication. The movers caused close to $1000 in damage to my furniture after they had me pay for full-coverage insurance and now refuse to take responsibility for the damage. I pointed out the damage to the mover and the driver immediately who apologized for the partner mover not being careful taking the items out of the truck. The driver told me I would have to call National Van Lines’ customer service line to file a claim. These people are only focused on creative excuses to avoid paying out claims. The worst kind of scam company. I am out $300+ for insurance on top of the near $1000 in damaged furniture I need to replace. I have moved SEVERAL times and have never had such a horrible experience!
