Long-distance move from New Orleans, LA to Denver, CO

Horrible

The company gave 12 hours notice before picking up my possessions, caused significant wall and door damage during the move, and it cost $2000 more than additionally quoted. It’s been 3 weeks since I moved and I have had zero contact from them regarding when my things will be delivered. When after 10 calls I finally reached someone, I was told it would be another 2 weeks minimum to get my possessions.

$4000+ to be without my possessions for 5+ weeks. I could have done this myself for cheaper and more efficiently. Horrible experience.

Never Use This Company.

My experience with this company was horrible. The first offence was when they doubled the quoted price they gave me after all my stuff was already on the moving truck, they claimed the price is often higher because of extra boxes. I had 4 extra boxes and they tried to charge me $2,000 more. The estimate was $2450, the attempted to raise the price to over $4500. I talked them down to $3,300 feeling I had no choice because they already had my stuff. The next issue was scheduling the delivery date. I needed to get permits for the town to mark off parking for the truck and they needed a delivery date. I scheduled this for June 27th (though my contract said July 1-6). I asked if it would be a problem that is was not in the contract window and they said no. Two days before the move I left two voicemails to see if they were going to come, then I had to call at least 4 times (I think more) the day before the move to find out they were not coming. The move was bumped to the following Thursday, then Friday, then Sunday- I had to call each time to find out they were not coming. Upon receiving my things 2 chairs were broken and cannot be used, two glass table tops were missing and when I asked the movers they stated perhaps they were packed in a box (they were not), they brought in 2 things that were not mine, including a glass picture that was shattered and glass was all over my floor.  My bike handles are sideways and this may not be able to be repaired (I do not have the tool to even check, so I will need to take this to a bike repair shop). A glass was broken. They trudged dirt on a light carpet on a sunny day (because the furniture was clearly stored in mud (the bottom was clean when they took it form a white carpeted room). The boxes looked as if they had been thrown, even those marked fragile. I called to ask for compensation for the damage and have not received a phone call back. I sent an email with pictures of the damage and have not been contacted back.

Always amazing.

I am so impressed with the men who come out. They do an amazing job and are always so polite and professional. This is the 3rd time I have used your company. The office staff are good as well but this time they didn’t have all the supplies on the truck that I requested. It made the move a little harder as I was counting on those boxes to be on the truck. So after the truck was loaded I still had more to do which I didn’t plan on. So I was late picking up my newborn at daycare due to this. But it all worked out and the move I think was successful but this was all due to the men who came out. Amazing job.

Do NOT use this company!!

Not sure who all these excellent reviews are written by. Certainly cannot be real customers.

Worst company EVER. Do not do business with this company if you like your money because they will bait and switch you once the truck is loaded. Then put everything in a storage unit until someone can move it to your new location. In our case over 3 weeks. The moving coordinator scheduled our move for us based on the day we needed our things to be in our new location. They were a day late to pick up our belongings. They were 2 weeks late in delivering our belongings causing us to have to buy a refrigerator and microwave. Several big Tupperware bins destroyed with contents inside destroyed including a $300 floor vase and a $500 bookcase headboard. They charge for wrapping your items.. Watch out they just start doing it and don't tell you until almost done that it is an extra charge. Several federal regulations were ignored. Customer Service is a joke. Lies upon lies upon lies. What should have costed us $4800 ended up costing $12,000 in the end. Do yourself a favor and Google "protect your move" and read the government regulations for moving companies and look for the red flags they list. Had we done this PRIOR we would have NEVER used this company!

Long-distance move from Iowa to Florida

Explore your options for movers before choosing this company!

Working with Leo in sales was great .. until my belongings and furnishings were picked up on 03/03/2015 in Iowa.  The movers were a couople of hours late, but called to let me know this was the case and it was due to poor weather (icy in Iowa).  My expected delivery date in Florida was given as "between 03/12/2105 and 03/14/2015, but we're not Fed Ex or UPS and can't give you an exact date."  I obtained possession of my apartment in Florida after a three-day drive from Iowa.  The day I got the apartment (03/12/15), I called National Relocation Van Lines Customer Service to find out if they knew my exact delivery date/time.  It was at that time that Customer Service (Phyllis) told me that the movers had run into bad weather and would be delayed "at least a week."  After picking my jaw up off the floor, I purchased an air mattress and lawn chair, some paper plates and paper cups, and "camped out" in my new living room.  According to the contract, I should receive my items no later than 03/22/2015 (they will tell you they have "ten days from the estimated delivery date" to get your stuff to you).  However, I called again on 03/17/2015 to get an update on the move and was told by Customer Service (Eric) that the movers "should" be here between 03/22/2015 and 03/27/2015.  No reason for this delay was given.  I started my new job on Monday, 03/16/2015.  It was necessary for me to purchase uniforms (I had only packed two sets of scrubs).  I continued to sleep on my air mattress while waiting for my belongings to arrive.  No one bothered to call me to inform me there was a delay either time .. I had to call them.  I have never received a return call or email from Leo about this situation.  I also did not receive a return call or email from Phyllis in Customer Service.  My furniture and belongings finally arrived mid-day on Friday, 03/27/2015.  I knew that there was a $75 charge for each set of 8 steps after the first 8.  There were exactly 24 steps, but I was given a $75 "discount" and only made to pay $150.  If the firsts 8 steps don't count, do the math.  No discount, no apology … and I was told to “call the office” related to the broken items I found as I unpacked.  They also hit the wall of the apartment with a piece of furniture.  While they were still here, I sent a picture to the apartment complex office to get an estimate of what this might cost for drywall repairs.  The off-hand comment from one of the movers to his "boss" was, "I just finished a job for a drywall company..don't let them take you.  That shouldn't cost more than $100."  I would not recommend this company.

Long-distance move from Florida to New York

My move was a success.

Not only was my move a success but I also paid less money in the end. I was over quoted purposely so in the end I would pay less and I did. And when I say my move was a success, it really was. The movers got to both locations on time and when they said they would. Times and dates never changed and always stayed the same on the quote. The movers were really awesome! They moved fast but they wrapped up my things so perfectly. At the delivery end my things arrived in great condition and nothing was missing or damaged. They even put everything where I wanted it to be. I really appreciated all of their hard work and efforts!

Do not use this company!!

Worst Moving Company Ever a total scam! After I signed up for my move I decided I should look up some reviews on this company!  I found this website and was concerned after I read some of these reviews so I called Michael Alexander Back and questioned him directly about these negative reviews and he had an answer for everything.  I told him that my family has been through a lot and please tell me that you are trustworthy and will not screw us over.  I told him that if we had a great experience I would write a great review and if I did not I will tell everybody I could not to use this company!!  WELL HERE I AM MICHAEL YOU LYING SCUMBAG!!  My wife went room by room explaining exactly what we had including some industrial sewing machines that she gave him the measurements on and he totally under estimated our move.  It cost me double what he quoted and like other people have stated it is a total bait and switch!  Then they tell us the date they will deliver and then the day before we call and they say oh no it will not be tomorrow it will be 6 days later!  Here we are in our other house with no furniture sleeping on the floor and my son on the dog bed for a week and they did not even care!!   Once they get your money and load your stuff you are at their mercy!  Some of the furniture was damaged and I was so tired of dealing with these crooks I did not have it in me to fight about the damage!!  I am living up to my word Michael and writing my honest review about your company and horable lying service!!  I don't know how you sleep at night when you are able to lye to someone's face when they tell you not to screw them over because you have been through a rough time!!  What has this world come to??  I not only had to pay double for another company to get the rest of my stuff I also had to make two trips on my own with uhaul trucks 10 hr drives each way!!  Spend the extra money on a reputable national company because in the long run you are going to spend at least that much or more with these scumbags along with a lot of stress and headaches!!  by the way his original quote was $5200 and after they loaded the truck it was $8000.  That does not include having to pay another company $2600 to get the rest and two plane tickets and two uhaul rentals to get what he underestimated.  ALWAYS GO WITH A COMPANY THAT COMES OUT TO DO A VISUAL ESTIMATE.  THIS OVER THE PHONE CRAP IS JUST A BAIT AND SWITCH!  I feel bad for there drivers because this Michele guy sends them into these hostile situations every day with his Bait and switch tactics!  DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!RUN! Long-distance move from Florida to Connecticut

Cancelled delivery.

If yu are a true sadist who likes the aggravation of working with totally incompetent people - this is your best choice! Our move was set for the day before closing - we had to be out - 1 hour before the set moving time - reserved three weeks before, time, got a call - 'the truck (note singular) broke down! can't do it until 4 days from now'. When I finally got to speak with someone after numerous voice mails, they offered NO solution, NO consideration, and still insisted on half down upon pickup, in addition to the deposit that they had already gotten. I immediately cancelled the credit card that they had on file, and demanded my deposit back - fine with them, as they did not seem to want the business. BAD NEWS, BAD NEWS, BAD NEWS - STAY AWAY!!

Long-distance move from Illinois to California

Shut this company down.

NATIONAL RELOCATION VAN LINES PACKED UP ALL MY BELONGINGS ONTO THE TRUCK..ONLY TO TURN AROUND AND TAKE THEM OFF!! You are not reading that wrong. Run as fast as you can from this company. It has been the worst experience ever and they are 1000% to blame. I had 2 very reputable, national carriers come to my home for in home estimates and 1 local company. Each one gave me quotes within a few hundred pounds of each other..nothing at all that caused any extreme pricing differences in the estimates. Michael Alexander, the salesman for National Relocation Van Lines called several times throughout this process and asked me to send over the estimates so he could base his bid on theirs. He came back to me with a bid that literally said "THIS IS A BINDING ESTIMATE BASED ON AN ALLIED HOME ESTIMATE" and we spoke several times about his assurance that there was no way this dollar amount would change. Fast forward to moving week..could barely get a call or email committing our time from this guy. Finally day before, we get a confirmation that our move would be Saturday between 10am-2pm. 6:30pm that night they call to inform us that they will actually not be coming, and that they'll be there first thing Sunday morning instead. Sunday morning they arrive and Igor and I do a walk through. He informs me that I have way more than the 3 guys from completely separate companies that had come in before him had estimated and I should be prepared to pay a lot more than the quoted price. He decided he was going to call his boss to discuss. An hour and a half we played this game where they stood outside my back door while everyone went round and round about how apparently a binding contract means absolutely nothing to this company. Finally!! They agree, binding is binding. And yes, we will stick to the original price promised by Michael.  Who by the way has a full mail box conveniently for the last 24 hours and won't answer any 911 emails. They pack up 99% of the boxes in my house, and then we go the garage. 20 minutes later he walks in and asks me where he can unload all of my boxes because he's decided it's more than was estimated and I've made it clear I won't be taken advantage of..so they're quitting. He throws his backpack on and grabs his stuff and goes to walk out the door to unload all the boxes. And Phyllis, the "Customer Service Manager" who I call to discuss this situation with, agrees that it is totally his option to bail at this point. This company is the epitome of bait and switch. They rely on gametime decisions when they know that with your back against a wall you'll just be at a point where you'll just want it to get done. So you agree to the hundreds if not thousands extra to cover the move of whatever mystery items that have all of a sudden appeared in your home. Honestly it would be more pleasant to throw away every item in your home and buy new than to work with this company. It'd be cheaper too.   For days we called to follow up to get our refund they promised as they were walking out the door.  Not one single person answers the phone there.  And the hysterical part of this whole situation, is a month later, they are still trying to hold on to our deposit, which we will be fighting to the death to get back.  Michael, Phyllis, Igor and whatever shady owner of this companies name is..you will not stop hearing from us.  EVER.  Please take all of these negative reviews seriously.  These people are straight up con artists and thieves.  .
