The company requires a deposit and allows you to cancel within 48 hours to receive your deposit back if your moving plans change. I cancelled within 24 hours, sent an email to the specified address, and called the selling agent Emmett.

Three months after canceling the move, I have not received a refund (more than $2k). Despite calling customer service several times, each time to be told either they could not help me or that they would call me back after talking to billing, I have had no luck in getting a refund from this company.

My recommendation: Stay away

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $7090

Please for the love of God do not use this company. They screwed us over big time. Brandon Wilson was the sales representative. I told him I’d be moving TWO ROOMS WORTH of stuff. He then asked me to list what big furniture items I have so I mentioned: two dressers, two night stands, two tvs, a bed, bed frame, etc. Little did I know that list was what he was charging me for and documented that that was ALL I was moving. So when the ACTUAL moving company (I had no clue that National Moving Services was a third party “broker”) came to grab our stuff the price changed from $2,500 to $6,600. I didn’t know I needed to include how much clothes and small items there would be- again I told Brandon TWO rooms worth. He only reported the furniture.

A couple days after my initial phone call with Brandon Wilson, I also asked him to add a couch to our list and update our destination address.. he didn’t even do that. My first call with him was on May 9th, telling him I would need the items by May 25th (moving from California to Virginia). He said I would receive the items by May 24th or the 25th.. come to find out after talking with the ACTUAL moving company, it will be around 30 business days. When I asked how much room on the truck we have, Brandon told me 26ft. My understanding was that we had a 26ft truck for ourselves to pack two rooms worth of stuff for $2,500. The actual moving company said that the truck will be shared with other people’s stuff and then taken to a warehouse, and that everything Brandon documented on the contract was not accurate. The moving company informed me that he sees this happen every day and that they screw people over who have no idea what they are doing. He said to never go through a broker (again I didn’t even know they were a broker). The actual moving company had so many additional charges - for boxes, taking a tv down, asking for a weigh slip, putting cardboard around a dresser, etc. NMS basically takes your money to get you in touch with a real moving company who will then charge you for the accurate amount you’re shipping. Again, Brandon made the situation seem completely different. It was basically a “bait & switch”.

After Brandon from NMS, received my money, he was no longer responding to my texts/questions about details and adding a couch to the list. After I found out all this stuff from the actual moving company, I then confronted him via text about screwing me over. He THEN replied and was incredibly rude (was almost a bit threatening). It was incredibly unprofessional. He told me “learn how to read”. And when I told him I’d be writing a review with his name, he said “good luck”. I was in shock with the disgusting customer service. Brandon provided me inaccurate and false information via phone and text. When I tried to go back to the link they provided so I can look at the quote and re-read their terms, the link was no longer available.. of course. I then emailed asking for a PDF of it, once they sent it I realized they changed the sales representative name to a Frank Anthony- whom I’ve never spoke to. I understand they have written terms in the contract but Brandon should have communicated accurately. My husband is in the military and we were ordered a quick move so we’ve been under a lot of stress - this was the last thing we needed.

NMS is not BBB accredited and there are hundreds of horrible reviews within the past year - all people experiencing with the same issue. I wish I did more research before agreeing to use them. I am furious.

I had a great experience from the moment I called the National Moving Services Inc to the moment I moved in. The manager was really accommodating and easy to get a touch of (I had to delay my move multiple times). Obtaining the required date and time was never a problem for me. On the day of my move, two more men arrived to help. Due to construction concerns at my apartment, my move took a little longer than expected, but the guys were absolutely nice! All of my belongings arrived at my new home undamaged, as far as I can tell

This company moved me! What an amazing experience! I was so worried about my items being damaged and worried about having issues with customs. I was assured that they would handle everything with care. They held to their word! The packaging was amazing! They took pride in making sure that I was a satisfied customer. I am completely and utterly satisfied with this company and I would recommend this to everybody! Thank you, guys, so much for relieving me of so much stress!

From initially generating an estimate that was accurate through to the final billing process, to sending an excellent packing team to wrap and pick up our goods, to connecting us with a very efficient local expeditor and customs broker at the destination, they did a fantastic job. They also provided excellent customer service, we’re always ready to answer our questions and went out of their way to advise us and inform us of how to pack and prepare our shipment as efficiently as possible.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $4785

NMS sponsors searches to come up high on lists and they talk a good game out of the gate on the phone UNTIL they get your deposit. They under quote cubic feet of items then sub-contract to another gropup of guys with a truck who then double/triple the move costs based on the real items being moved. Also ...those movers expect a tip ...$100's per guy which is not included in any quote nor conversation. Cost me $1,000./

My NMS "clown" actually gave me a free fee discount on a set of stairs when they offer that anyways, they charge if you have 2 sets of stairs ... Basically NMS gets their fee then are un-reachable. David Thomas

His side-kick ..Chris Singleton is equally useless. My move was Boston to Florida. **** STAY AWAY FROM USING THESE CLOWNS > GO DIRECT !!
