National Express Moving

Company under-estimated my items by over 500 cubic feet (even though I was told MULTIPLE times that they have a very thorough process and that they are always overestimating). I had to pay an additional $3,000 for the added cubic feet. Additionally, I was "sold" on the fact that this was a hub to hub move for the company and it was written in my binding estimate that my items would be delivered in 14 business days or they would start reimbursing me per day it was late. My items took 23 business days to arrive and I can't get ANYONE at National Express to take responsibility and actually get reimbursement from them as promised. The only positive part of this experience was with Susan in the customer service department who was the only person who actually told the truth about anything and worked tirelessly to get me answers as to where my items were (the carrier was silent for 4 weeks). Additionally, the carrier they hired lost items of mine but due to the "fine print" in the contract I don't have recourse for claiming the items lost as I can't say exactly what was in the box and how much the items were worth and weighed. This was shady all around. I will never use or recommend National Express.

They changed their name . They are scammers , please believe me and move on to another company ! They hire subcontractors which you will solely be responsible for if they mess up. They go against what’s written on the contract and will not care! They will charge you extra to up around 1600! Our stuff was delayed 3 weeks and they provided no compensation for that either. Trust me they’re a scamming company . These reviews are FAKE !

Here is my story:

We hired them to transfer our stuff from new York to Texas. When the movers arrived ( which national subcontracts) they said we have to pay more due to extra storage. We willingly paid and then agreed on written paper that the balance owing was 561 at the time of drop off . When the truck arrived 3 weeks later. They asked us for 920 dollars more. We disagreed to pay and contacted national . They said the math that the mover did was garbage and that we need to pay 920 , they threatened us and said if we don’t pay they will put our stuff in storage. We finally agreed to pay. Then an hour later they said we need to pay an extra 600 because of some other hidden cost. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM . Check Yelp that’s their real name before they changed it because of the bad reviews. These reviews are mostly fake!!! They are extremely rude people !!!

Started out amazing, thought they really cared. I have never moved a household long distance. Boy did they see me coming a mile away. Booked my space 3 months ahead of time $2800. They called the day before the movers were to arrive and said “oh, you have boxes as well as furniture?” Well, yes!!! Like I said originally, moving the whole household. That $2800 went up to $5600. “You’ll need more space.” Between a rock and a hard place there. Had no choice but to pay. Then it just got better……NOT!! The mover didn’t show up when scheduled. No call from anyone and no return calls. Ghosted by NEM. Found out they are just brokers making a sale. They lie just to get a sale, then dump you onto a sub contractor. Found out that S&M Relo was the actual mover. I finally was able to get ahold of someone there the day after the no show. They had claimed to have called and left a message. Turns out they had called another customer in another state. Still gets better, movers show up and claim I have too much stuff and need to pay for more space. WTF!!!! After 2.5hrs and them taking a video of my stuff the price went up again!!! $11,600 more!!! I’m stuck now. The house is closing and I have to get my stuff out. I could back out but lose $2k I had already paid. What a SCAM!! We had no choice but to cough up $5200 right then and another $6600 upon delivery. Which, by the way, it’s been two weeks and no one can tell me where my things are. We have no furniture, sleeping on the floor, living with the bare basics. Absolutely beside myself. I have since realized that with the stress of all that mess, I didn’t get a copy of the inventory. I also was under severe pressure to sign the new contract. Not sure exactly what was signed. I know now that if we ever have to do this again, go with an actual moving company that will come out to assess your move to give you a fair and honest rate. This was complete bs and I’m concerned I’ll never see my stuff again.

Was told 7-10 days. Still no idea after 2 weeks.

This company is a scam!!!! I moved from Texas to Washington and after this company took my deposit I was left to deal with the moving company that this BROKER selected. None of my calls and emails were returned until I submitted them to better business bureau due to the complete lack of communication, misleading quote due to me being charged 2000 more for my things or they wouldn’t move them, about half of my furniture and items being damaged or broken, and the fact I was told my items would be there in a week and I did not receive any furniture for 2 months. I would absolutely highly recommend going through another company for your own sanity. After finally speaking with someone they will act like they hear your concerns and want to help you but then will ignore your emails and calls until you continuously reach out for updates. Save your time and money and go with a real moving company, not some wannabe broker. FAKE COMPANY AND WILL SCAM YOU.
