Moving Staffers

We unfortunately had Moving Staffers, Inc. select a crew to move my wife's office belongings on August 15, 2015. They showed up four hours late, and two of their "work crew" were children.
They were going to pack and load my wife's office and our apartment.We told Moving Staffers that we were going to have volunteers pack and load the moving truck earlier on the 15th of August. The volunteers did a great job.Moving Staffers charges by the foot instead of the hour.
The group leader and I drove one mile so he could see the moving truck. He told me that he wanted to unload all the items that were in the moving truck because they were put in "dangerously". That wasn't the case at all, and he would have been paid for any item that he loaded or reloaded.We called the emergency number at Moving Staffers and told them that this crew would not be allowed to touch any boxes that were already in the truck from the volunteers, and that they lost the job in packing and loading our apartment items. This would have been an ten hour job for them.
The group leader was angry. His crew brought the items from my wife's office and loaded the truck in silence even though I wasn't there. Then, he had me inspect what they did, and stated that they did 7 feet of work. He told me that he was getting paid in full even though I told him he lost the apartment job. Then, he traveled to my wife's office and had her sign a form stating that he did 8 feet of work. I measured the work, and it was 7 feet of work in the middle of the truck and 5.5 feet of work on the sides insides of the truck. In addition, the 28 boxes that they put in the truck were only 3/4 full at most with no padding. This added to their total footage, and they didn't even finish cleaning my wife's office. Some of her items were thrown out by maintenance because she had a deadline of 6:00 p.m. to clean the office in full. 
They worked for three hours and charged us $1606. This group leader is dishonest, and they should not be allowed to work anywhere. He had my wife sign the form even though he didn't have her inspect anything. I inspected everything and he wouldn't let me sign the form.

The 2 men from Moving Staffers that did the job loading the containers for my sister were pleasant enough, however they used materials and never asked her or advised her that she would be charged what turns out to be an additional $300 for the materials! It wasn't even on the receipt!
They listed 2 rolls of tape, 2 straps, and 1 rope. No prices. According to billing those charges are $4.50 per roll, $15 per strap, and $10 for a shoelace type rope. Then billing tells us that the movers added 50 pieces of wrapping paper at $4.50 each for a total of $225! Our $500 move winds up costing $904! The additional charges showed up over 1 month after the move. This mover came recommended from UPACK. Don't let them use anything without full disclosure and don't sign anything without being clear about the cost. She moved at the last minute under a lot of pressure due to a home closing and had a very short window of time to move. This company took advantage of the situation.

It began with the movers arriving late on the day of the pack, they were then in a rush, the guys in Cleveland flew through the house but when they started running out of time, rather than asking for a second day they started throwing things into the second truck.
Apparently in their rush they neglected to secure an internal wall in the truck resulting in MAJOR damage to countless items. When we unpacked we realized that the pictures were simply thrown into the truck with no protection. Expensive office chairs had been beaten up because the movable wall in the truck had fallen down and this goes on and on for dozens and dozens of items.
It was almost OK, because they initially acknowledged it was their mistake and they promised to cover the damage.
Amazingly, when it came time to settle, the person we were dealing with is nowhere to be found and Tammie from claims finds for about 10% of the damage.
Buyer beware! Hiring no names from Craigslist would be better.

I was referred to Moving Staffers by U-Pack. I was moving from the West Coast to the East Coast and I had a lot of concerns about my belongings arriving safely and without damage. Now that I have completed my move, I can say that I am absolutely satisfied with my move that was managed by Moving Staffers. Both the loading and unloading crews did an outstanding job. The loading crew meticulously wrapped all of our furniture in either heavy wrapping paper/plastic wrap or in moving blankets that we had purchased on our own. They even built a custom box to hold our Cal King memory foam mattress that couldn't fit in any pre-made moving box. They packed our U-Pack container very efficiently, utilizing all available space to minimize the total linear feet consumed. The loading crew foreman was very customer service oriented and happily accommodated every one of our requests. The unloading crew foreman was fantastic as well. He was very experienced, had a pleasant demeanor, and was very patient. His crew did a fantastic job unloading as none of our belongings were damaged during unloading.

All in all, I couldn't be happier with the cross country move with Moving Staffers and the crews they used on both ends of the move.

The loaders provided by Moving Staffers were not prepared (they did not even bring a dolly, which caused them to go over their 2hr time). Then they improperly loaded everything so that when my items arrived, several pieces of furniture where crushed under the weight of other boxes. Moving Staffers said that they would do nothing about that because it was fine when the movers put it in the truck. The representative then hung up on me. Upon unloading of my shattered items, I was charged $250 extra (a full week after the initial charge and receipt) for something that I specifically called and asked them about. (My delivery was delayed and I had asked if my pre-paid funds could be applied to another unloading day.) Moving Staffers noted that I had called but conveniently said that they had no record of ever telling me that I wouldn't be charged which was my entire reasoning for calling and rescheduling, otherwise I would have just cancelled and done it myself. They are very helpful when taking your money, but rude, misleading, and terrible people when dealing with any issue.

The crew that unloaded our PODS in South Carolina came from Legends Movers in Murrell's Inlet, SC. They arrived on time and proceeded to put mats on the floors and bumpers on the door frames to protect them, and got our stuff unloaded in no time! They put everything together correctly and placed items exactly where we wanted them put. They were friendly, courteous, professional, and very nice. They made a great team. I would use these movers again in a heartbeat!

We used moving staffers from move to Atlanta. The company is very responsive and arranged everything quickly. The crew members who came at origin location were very professional and nice. They loaded everything properly, only thing they did not bring complete set of cartons for king size mattress but managed to make it on spot however I did not feel it was sturdy to keep it vertical so decided to keep it horizontal utilizing 2 feet extra. Destination crew was very professional and efficient too. Post delivery I discussed issues with the customer care service and I was amazed to see the response. They reimbursed the amount for extra space utilized. There was no major damage , my bookshelf got broken which was not expensive (30$) and they reimbursed that amount too. Very happy with them and highly recommend it to my friends and family.

I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Moving Staffers (Southern Cross) in SW Florida. My sister and I had to pack up and move our 88 year old mother across the country and needed a team to load up our trailer. Theo and Moose (really) from Southern Cross arrived early, were extremely patient with us AND our mother, and packed the trailer quickly and neatly. I spoke with the owner several times as we required a great deal of hand-holding during this process and I always received courteous treatment and solid responses, despite being a relatively small job for them. We had an absolutely outstanding experience during a very stressful time. Thank you!!

The movers you sent me from Ohio that was suppose to be expert movers weren't. I had stuff like wood furniture scratched that I had blankets to be used to cover them and they did not. All they had to do is put the stuff in the back of the Upack cause I'm unable to do so because of my health. All I want is to have my stuff fix or replaced cause of the stuff that was damaged was irreplaceable because it was passed down to me from my grandma that is dead now. All they had to do is make sure they put it in there safe so it could go from Michigan to Arizona and now you guys do not want to pay to fix it or place the stuff that is damaged.

I am extremely disappointed that ABF "U-Pack" recommend Moving Staffers!! They were extremely challenging to work with. They wanted paperwork signed immediately; however, couldn't accommodate both ends with help. They were supposed to have sent a 4 man crew but only 3 showed up. When I asked the crew chief what happened to the 4th guy he said I should be thankful I got three!! Not that moving isn't stressful enough, the movers they sent (Birmingham Moving Storage, Birmingham, MI) were belligerent, unprofessional and unresponsive to my moving needs. There were numerous instances they said "We don't do that" or mumbled derogatory comments under their breadth. I have moved at least 12 times for business and this crew from Birmingham Moving Storage was by far the absolute worst!! When I called Moving Staffers and told them about my concerns, they were unresponsive. When I finally spoke with a Moving Staffers supervisor, he offered me $150 for my inconvenience - what an insult!!
