Moving Mania.

Used Moving Mania for a cross country move. Should have known they were too slick in the sales process. Had items stolen, damaged and missing. Their third-party claims process is a joke. They make it impossible to complete the claim. If you have one thing missing on their pages and pages of documents, you can't correct it, you must completely do it over. I first had to send a dozen emails just to find out what was missing. They send links that are misleading..like, "continue the claims process". They charged me for 1795 cubic feet of truck, but I used 1400, and with photo evidence, they ignored me. (They had a transfer truck pick up my move, and based the cost on a 50 mile load, versus a 2700 mile load. BS!! Crooks one and all. NEVER use them.

Long-distance move from Port St. Lucie, FL to Franklin, MA

Damaged antique rocking chair

We used moving mania to move my mother from Florida to Massachusetts. They were wonderful with packing up belongings but delivery was another story. Items were packed in one truck and transferred somewhere along line to another truck. Delivery was on a day I couldn’t be there, but my mother was (79 years old). They charged her 300 extra for a long delivery - (in apt building). They delivered her mother’s antique rocking chair in pieces - with bolts and duct tape to hold together. Then at end asked her for a tip! Went to put in a claim but saw only would get $30 for an irreplaceable chair. Not sure what kind of “repair” job they thought they were doing. No apology or explanation. Just left against a wall in her living room in pieces. So basically saying their insurance is a joke not worth all the steps to file the claim. So sad to lose a family heirloom but nothing we can do

Long-distance move from California to Florida

Bottom of the barrel.

Horrible service.. Between them and their partner company (GPS Moving from California) they botched the cross country move in every way. They are rude. They delivered late. There were 5 boxes missing. The were 2 broken mirrors. Both headboards of the two bedroom sets shipped were broken/ruined. More than 3/4 of the glassware was broken. There was one box (full of perishables) which didn't even belong to me. Plenty of items missing/stolen from drawers like: 2 watches (seiko and Armani) a pandora bracelet, an iPod, and more.. You can tell that the rummaged through our drawers. It was horrible service. Just horrible.

And that's the move itself. Their "customer service", for lack of a better term, is wanting (not to say nonexistent.) The owner is rude beyond belief and with a sense of entitlement that borders a God complex. Which is funny bc he comes off as rather unintelligent. They treat you as ingrates who owe them instead of a paying customer. Better Business Bureau doesn't even recognize them as a bona fide business. I dread they day GPS Moving subcontracted them.

Long-distance move from Colorado to Virginia

Do Not Use This Company.

I am a single woman who has very little experience with moving, having done it only once in the last 32 years. My move was from Colorado to Virginia. I contracted Moving Mania, Inc. in May of 2015. This company is based out of Colorado and Florida. The company address is 4485 Sterling Rd, Suite 206, Dania Beach, FL 33314. My reference no: T2258808
Prior to moving, I reduced my belongings by 75% by having an estate sale. I was shipping approximately 3 rooms of furniture after the downsize, but that 25% represented the best and most precious of my personal items.
In anticipation of the move, I read the blogs to become more informed but it was not happy reading. Everything I looked up said companies would be super friendly and helpful up front, but that the service would drop off from there on. In the end I had to pick somebody and I went with Moving Mania because the initial price estimate seemed lower than the others I had called. That is what happened to me. My purpose is to warn others of how this particular company does business and to consider somebody else if you need use a moving service.
I had a lot of trouble selling my house in Denver which I did not anticipate in the booming Denver market. It went on the market in June and did not sell until late November. Moving Mania stored my items for free for 70 days at some undisclosed warehouse location in Denver. After the free period, it was $450 a month for my 3 rooms of furniture to sit in that warehouse. My final bill was close to $11,000.
I knew it was going to be expensive but never anticipated that expensive. The sales rep from Moving Mania was Chris Simmons. He was very friendly, empathetic, and outgoing when I contracted for services in May and he explained over the phone that it sounded like I had about $3500 worth of items to move. That price ended up twice as much based on what I shipped (??) and the additional expense was for my items in storage from August 2015 to January 2016. As time wore on, he would call once a month because he had to get the credit card number every month to charge for the storage. His enthusiasm waned, lots of phone tag, and towards the end when the problems cropped up, not much contact at all. I told everyone from Chris, my “rep”, to Leo the dispatcher MANY TIMES MANY TIMES, do not deliver until after Feb 1 as I will not have the key to the house in Virginia until then.
A truck driver calls in mid January to tell me he’s in Virginia and coming the next day at 8:00 a.m. when I did not even have a key to the new house yet – a full two weeks early despite what I had told them all from the beginning. I told the driver I could not accept delivery without a house! Chris stepped back from being so friendly, and he was not helpful, and now he doesn’t return phone calls or write back so I guess this is how it works.
It is from this point forward that Moving Mania really screwed me over. My stuff went to New Jersey off of that truck and got stored somewhere else, but I did not piece this together until much later. Finally completely unpacked a month later, I know that many of my “this side up”/FRAGILE boxes were flipped over and items broken. At some point between Denver and New Jersey and Virginia, many items went missing as well.
I got off of work so that I could meet the truck driver to collect my stuff on my scheduled delivery day. Unfortunately the weather was bad so this person just did not show up. I finally got a phone call around 5pm to tell me he would be there tomorrow which was a work day for me. I met them the next day at 3PM in 22 degrees weather. The new truck driver (from New Jersey) had a crew he had never met who barely spoke to each other. My job was to flip through 10 sheets of paper and check off the box number as they put it in my garage. It was dark by 4:30. I had not seen any of my stuff for 8 months and did not exactly remember what was in every box.
It took me awhile to realize how many items were missing because I have unpacked myself by myself so it goes slowly. As soon as I realized that items were missing I again tried to contact Chris Simmons. His colleague, Omy Pagan, called back a couple of times but basically told me nothing had turned up and I had signed the contract without additional insurance so the most they would cover was 60 cents a pound. I even had somebody else’s stuff mixed in with mine! A computer and a shelving system that are NOT mine! I tried to tell Moving Mania about that too, but Moving Mania, Inc. was just not interested in my missing items or the items I did not own that shipped with my stuff.. Here's what I lost:
I had 11 of these Utopia Rubber Doormat (2' x 3') @ $47 each
I had two of these:
Rubber-Cal 'Liverpool' Rubber Cast Iron Entrance Mat @ $42 each
Dyson v6 Mattress Handheld Vaccum $246.00
Dyson V6 Absolute Cord-free Vacuum $472.00
Sonicare electric toothbrush
None of my pots and pans for the kitchen made it either.
An ottoman - no point in trying to value because it was an IKEA piece from 25 years ago, no longer made, and I had just had it reupholstered before I left Denver to move. The emotional component of losing something you treasure does definitely not factor in to anything that Moving Mania, Inc. ever considers. That much I’m sure of.
I am so angry, disappointed, and disgusted with this company. At this point, I just want other people to know that this is how my move went and unpacking the mess Moving Mania made of my stuff and figuring what is no longer there is really unpleasant. DO NOT USE THESE FOLKS!

Long-distance move from Colorado to Florida

Best Movers I've Ever Used!

God only knows with my busy life and work schedule I have little time to research companies online much less write an review about one but the superior customer service and the quality care that this moving company had taken in handling our family's belongings on our move from Denver to our new home in Orlando inspired me to make an exception and brag an little about my experience with Moving Mania and hopefully some of the rest of the world will find out what an outstanding company Moving Mania truly is! I was an little nervous calling any moving company I've never used before and since we have an extremely large household I've always in the past placed our belongings in the hands of one of the more well known moving companies they've always done an wonderful job in the past but have always seemed so expensive and of course everyone is trying to save money nowadays right? You just have to when you're growing an family! Me and my wife were discussing possibly on how there might just be an better way and we were talking about various moving companies we've seen or heard about and the best direction we might take with our move. Actually one of our relatives introduced us to this company they had used Moving Mania over 5 years ago and  had nothing but great things to say about them so the call was made to see if this company was up for the job we were relocating very quickly so actually that was one of our concerns if any moving company could move us when needed? I must tell you most of the credit for this wonderful experience must go to our sales person Chris from the moment he took my call and started listening to what we were looking for I felt completely comfortable with him it seemed like this guy had been in this business all his life the main thing that impressed me most was the little extras he spoke with me about on our move and the simple fact that this person actually cared about what we wanted and and most importantly needed! It seemed like his main goal was to make this an enjoyable experience and we all know how much fun moving can be right? Truly representing his company he honestly sounded like he was trying to go the extra mile to earn my business and that has always  impressed me with anyone I've ever dealt with! He made me feel as if we were working together as an team!I asked Chris if in the short notice offered if it was still possible for their movers to pack everything including our boxes and he reassured me they have an full crew on all of their trucks and they'll be able to offer any services needed! He completely covered all the details and thinking back now I must have drove the guy crazy we must have had at least 10 conversations together going over our list of items over and over again until we were both comfortable that everything was as correct as possible and he always spoke of ways for us to save the most money and try to make our move cost effective for our family! Not once did Chris ever sound annoyed or implied that he was impatient with us even though I know this moving company must have many other customers we always felt his sole attention on us this was the main reason they earned our business! And the best part is their company's estimate on our move was over $2,000 less than what we've paid for in the past with the other moving companies we've dealt moving the same amount of items needless to say me and my wife were ecstatic! Part of us both were thinking ok everything has been great so far but let's see when the movers arrive but Chris kept reassuring us that he was always there for anything we needed and to make sure the move continued like clockwork! On the big day of our move Moving Mania's crew showed up actually an hour earlier than what was planned which was fine with us because our family was eager to be on it's way and we had an long drive ahead of us! All five of the movers treated us very professionally and respectful. Daniel I guess he was the supervisor for the crew went over everything that was going to be done for us that day answering every question we may have had very courteous and politely and I received the same impression as with our conversations with Chris that Daniel had been doing this for many years both my wife and myself were commenting to each other in the car as we left them to continue their work what confidence these two guys have in what they do and how they take care of their customers we both and our whole family felt so pleased that we've chosen their company! It's an little scary placing your livelihood in someone else's hands but with this company they made us feel like we had no worries talk about an stress relief!  As we made our long drive to our new home we called Chris and Moving Mania many times he was always happy to give us an status updates and I knew if any issues during the process were to come up I know he and the company would solve them complete peace of mind! Our crew arrived an week after we had arrived but an couple of days before our planned meeting and move in date with them our family was so happy to have our belongings again same as when our things had been loaded on their truck the guys took the most utmost care unloading everything and making sure all of us were happy with their placement. Other than an couple of things that had obviously moved around an little on their truck after all it is moving after all not one single item was damaged and as everything was gradually unwrapped we could fully understand the reason for this as we saw how our items had been so carefully cared for and gently placed on their truck in the first place! What an fantastic moving company I'll always be more than happy to tell all my family, friends, and co-workers about them and their quality work and considerate customer service! My hat comes off to both Chris and Daniel for their guidance and knowledge that resulted in such an easy move for our family and the other fine workers at Moving Mania thanks again!

Worst mistake I ever made.

I sent on the updated inventory on Jun 7th. They said it was still under the weight class so it wouldn’t be an extra charge. After much argument on when to pick my stuff up they arrived 5 hours late to pick up on the 10th. They tried not to show up on the 10th saying a road was closed. Called me and said what do you want to. Do? I said what ever, get here. They said we only give you one flight of stairs so you have to pay for 2 flights at $150. The guy says I know you got it.
Then since they didn’t update my inventory, which was only 5 small things they added $150.Then they send me another bill today that has $464.12 of which that they said since they had to use a smaller truck to deliver that is $350. And they added $100 for an elevator fee. Don’t forget it was 150 for steps. Then after you put a down payment they said you assumed it would be delivered same day. 3 or 4 days later for a 3 hour drive. Told they would head down here Monday and when called they said next dayNow a complete 2 days and they have not delivered. And if you don’t pay cash they wont deliver.
People. Do yourself a favor. If you have less than 2500 in furniture, sell it, or give it away. Cause if you call this place you are giving away that money. I learned my lesson and should’ve done extensive research. I have not been this pissed in decades. If you don’t want stress, then don’t call. You will remember what I said if you do. I already contacted the BBB and a lawyer. All the military I run into I steer them far away from this crack job. This job started at 1300 (for 2 couches, one bed, and 8 boxes and one extremely small dinner table). In the end that turned into 2100. And yes 2 dinner table chairs. Screws missing on the back. They didn't just fall out.

Long-distance move from Naples, FL to Collegeville, PA

Bait & Switch.

We received an estimate from Moving Mania for our inventory of goods. The driver was suppose to arrive between 2pm - 5pm. No call was received from Moving Mania when they had not shown by 5pm. Upon many follow-up phone calls, the moving crew eventually arrived after 8pm.

Upon arrival, the foreman identified that there was one item we were asking to move that was not on our original list, a night stand. We confirmed with the driver that they were not to move the night stand so that the only items they would be moving were those on the original list.

The foreman then said that there was more square cubic feet then the original estimate, even though all the items were clearly identified on his inventory. He proceeded to tell us that the estimate would need to increase 50%, again, with no change in the inventory. We made several calls and eventually reached the "Boss" as he called himself. He stated there was no options, we either agree to their 50% increase in the estimate of size of the load, or they would leave.

We refused to be taken advantage of and did not agree to the increase and the movers left.

Two days later, we were contacted by Moving Mania and offered a refund of our deposit, but the story written up by their customer service representative was not accurate.

I want to warn other consumers of this company and their low-ball estimates to get the job, then their practice of increasing the estimate once they arrive and leaving the consumer in the position of having to accept the higher cost, or not get their goods moved.

Long-distance move from Florida to California

Thank you Moving Mania.

So moving in the past was a nightmare and I was very careful choosing the right companie for my move, Alex the sales guy was the best part in this process starting by getting an accurate list and then call to confirm that there is no change on my list.
On the day of the move, I had 6 extra boxes that I had and the price went up little bit about 150 dollars more I didn't like it but it's been explained up front and that what I like they gave me the option what to do so for that I am giving them five star .
I moved to Ca work-related.
Thank you guys great job!
