Miracle Movers

I hired Miracle Movers to move 1 bedroom's worth of stuff from Sarnia, ON to Calgary, AB. We had been in contact for over a week arranging a suitable move date and discussing how much stuff I had to ship. 12 days before the move date, I received an email from Miracle Movers about how they could no longer move my stuff and would have to cancel my move. I called them up to further inquire about why the sudden cancellation and they said how they picked too much stuff up from another client and as a result had to cancel multiple people's moves. For whatever reason, they felt that it made more sense to cancel multiple people's moves rather than tell the single client that he had too much stuff and they could no longer take any more of it. They did not provide any further help (I.E. trying to subcontract the move, or attempting to organize another move date) to me and expected me to be understanding of their decision. I am extremely disappointed by this experience with Miracle Movers and I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else in the future.

From the moment I hit their website and "Layla" popped in through chat to answer my questions (which she did thoroughly) to the subsequent follow-up by her and her colleagues, Anna and Valerie to the very respectful, prompt, thorough and quick (but careful) move by Daniel and Slava, I have been extremely impressed by this company. And, over the several moves I've made for which I have hired movers, this is the first time nothing was damaged in any way.

Honestly, I was skeptical at first because I didn't believe I could get such great service at the price they quoted me given it was about half of a quote from another company, but they really impressed me. Though I hope not to move much more, Miracle Movers are now my movers for life, and I will be very comfortable referring them to others.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $600

My whole experience with Miracle Movers was an exceptional one. Alisha answered all my questions thoroughly and followed up on all my emails quickly and efficiently. I was most impressed with the price as it was half of what another well known moving company quoted. I received a call the night before the move to review and confirm that all was set for the following day. Alex and his helper did an amazing job. Alex was very organized and the move went quickly and cleanly without any hiccups. I am extremely impressed with Miracle Movers and would not hesitate to recommend them or to use them again myself.

I would highly recommend this company for your moving needs. The two gents that did our move were amazing. Both Vladislav and Martin were extremely polite and helpful and completed the move timely - actually in under the estimated time allowed. They arrived shortly before the scheduled move time, looked over the areas and items to be moved and started promptly at the agreed upon time.

The initial interaction with the company for the delivery of the bins did not go as planned which made me nervous about the move itself. The bin situation was more than rectified and my concerns addressed.

Move size: Office Move Service cost: $400

I was really tensed with our move from Markham, Canada house to New York, USA. After lots of research selected Miracle Movers. In their quote, they confirmed an independent truck and provided a very reasonable breakdown of costs ( truck rental, Labour for loading and Unloading including materials). After a physical inspection of the house, they provided a revised tentative quote, confirming a 26 feet truck for the move. I must say despite my suspicion( had previous bad experience with mover) I really had a wonderful experience with these professional movers. The only issue was with the pickup timing, where the movers were late in their arrival in Toronto. I must say the guys are professionals who did the loading and unloading of my staff very well. Though it was planned for 5 hours each for loading / unloading the 26 feet truck they completed the loading in 3.5 hours and unloading in 3 hours. Overall, an Excellent Job. Both Daniel at Toronto and Philip had been courteous and professionals. I would definitely recommend this company to my friends and family..

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $4767

I had two movers come to my place Alex and Mike I think was the name of the second guy.
I had 5 pieces of furniture to get moved, only. I live in a condo and was moving just across the street. They arrived at the last minute, I just had one hour of elevator left. They basically demanded a 20% tip before starting, literally. I agreed because I felt intimidated, I tried arguing a reduction to 15% but it kept going to 20.
One of the guys started hitting on me.. I called the company (several times until someone actually piked it up) since non of it was professional conduct..and the guy on the phone laughed at me "He is hitting on you? What do you mean? hahaha" Yeah.. because guys don't know that guys do this right?!
This is a crime if this company doesn't know that.

I felt uncomfortable and disrespected on my own house.
My 5 items were transported safely, but that's not all that counts.
RESPECT should be always the priority.

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $260

Do not use! Worst moving company ever! These guys are dishonest and completely transparent about their insurance. You think you have insurance? You don’t! In other words. Is on a "Discretionary basis only". I don’t even know where to begin. The mover’s broke my two-year-old 52” television because they got into a car accident and after speaking to Kevin at the main office - miracle movers refused to pay for the tv saying “how do we know it wasn’t broken before”. It's hard to even write this without being completed disgusted and furious at that answer. They did not take responsibility for breaking my tv and instead insulted me and essentially told me I was dishonest saying “how do we know it wasn’t already broken”.  Meanwhile, the movers got in an accident – hitting the exact location where the tv was positioned in the truck.  The movers made a ridiculous choice to back up on lakeshore west, which is a one-way street, and it resulted in them hitting a guy on a motorcycle ultimately crashing his bike. The movers got out of the truck and instantly blamed the poor guy saying it was his fault (not sure how that is even possible considering the truck was backing up on a one-way street) that’s not all! The movers dropped a box of my wine decanters which had fragile labeled on five sides – I heard everything smash to pieces inside (everything was wrapped in towels and newspaper.  They looked up at me and said “oops”.  The result:  they only gave me $18 for all of them saying “we estimate the weight of this box to be 30lbs and we only insure $0.60/lbs.  Needless to say, they were worth a lot more. Buy the way this was Kevin at head office saying “we estimate it weighs 30lbs”.How could Kevin even estimate the weight when he didn’t pick it up, he wasn't there.  The movers couldn’t even remember what box it was or what it weighed. Head office just decides what to give you or what they want to pay 3) a small box with my bose speakers in it said fragile on five sides. The movers put it on the bottom of their dolly and stacked two large heavy boxes on top of it which crushed the box.  I asked the movers “didn’t you see that it said fragile on all five sides?”  his response was  “ha- well you never know what is really fragile”. I said to them "Don’t you think you should air on the side of caution when seeing fragile?") when the moving truck was missing for two hours, (keeping in mind that it is only a 2min drive from point-a to point-b, we called the head office and he located them on the GPS and said they were just taking a lunch break.  He, in fact, was completely dishonest with us because we say the movers down the street and Kevin had been communicating with the drivers the entire time. They were discussing what to do and how to handle the car accident. 5) we paid the movers to disassemble and reassemble our armoires – they put them together all wrong and the doors did not line up. They forgot to put the shelves in before they put the doors on – all which we ended up having to spend an hour and a half doing ourselves – even after they charged us for that time they wasted! This is the worst worst worst company out there. Do not use them. The insurance is not at all what you think - its only $0.60/lbs and the weight is decided by miracle movers. They will only give you a couple bucks for something if the break it because it’s all on their judgment. .

Service cost: $700

I used Miracle Movers back in July..I know should have reviewed earlier but got lazy. We did a long distance move from Calgary to Toronto. Was very impress with them. They were professional and really took care of my belongings. What they quoted us was approximately what it cost. Sorry don't have the exact amount anymore.

Cons: they should have more scheduled pick up dates. For the month of July we only got 1 window for pick up and it was between the 15-20th and they wouldn't tell us till the day before the pickup. This was very nerve wracking and we did make several phone calls asking for an update of the dates. Ideally we really wanted to move before that but the only option was to call a different company. So had to suck it up and change up our schedule to accommodate them because they had the best reviews on this website.

Tip for miracle movers: provide your movers with proper belts/gear to carry heavy loads. Our movers did not wear any protective gear and can easily break their back and make them unable to work.

Service cost: $2000
