Long-distance move from Youngsville, LA to Leesburg, FL

Recommend them to anyone!

I highly recommend Mayzlin Relocation and will book them every time. They are timely, professional, and offer very competitive rates. They were very accommodating regardless of any challenges, whether booking last-minute or working with large furniture and small spaces. I find moving very stressful, and these guys have lifted a massive weight off my shoulders every move (literally). I am thankful for their service! I try to be mindful of the small things I can do to provide a better working environment.

AVOID

All of my boxes were damaged, I can’t use my bed because they broke the frame, several items are irreplaceable. I am furious. Do NOT let them fool you like they did me. This was a horrible experience and I’m so upset right now.

First, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience the customer has endured during the move. It is never our intention that customers will have a less-than-satisfying experience.

We have contacted CSI our claims service provider to initiate a claim file for the customer and allow them to file a proper claim as required by law. The customer was sent login information on 10/06/2022 in order to file a claim online and up to date, no claim has been received. The claim login information sent to the customer allows filing a claim for loss, damage, delay, overcharge, and complaint. All the above can and must be compensated through the claims process as required by federal regulations.

No compensation can be offered for lost or damaged items unless a proper claim is filed in writing with CSI.   We require that pictures showing the damages claimed as well as a full view showing the entire item will be provided as support to your claim so that the adjusters can determine our legal liability. Please be sure to provide all required support directly to CSI for the proper investigation of your claim.

Please feel free to contact CSI directly for any questions or concerns about your claim at 772-742-5246 Mon-Fri 9 AM-5 PM EST or via email to claims@csipros.org

We regret the customer found it necessary to file a complaint, but trust that the above explanation enables them to better understand our position in this matter.

Long-distance move from New York to Maryland

DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY

I had a horrible experience with this company. I moved from a tiny apartment in NYC to Baltimore. It should have costed very litter, but I’m single and 52 and paid the $3700 to make it easy and stress free for myself. It was anything but. The movers broke things, throw important things in boxes, and then couldn’t get my favorite armoire out of my apartment building (even though my last move got it IN the building just fine). They damaged the buildings hallway and then just left it in the apartment. I not only got fined for leaving it in the apartment, I had to pay $600 for getting it removed AND DISPOSED OF because I could not find anyone who could move it out next day for under $4k. I also lost my security deposit of $2350 because of the hallway damage. They broke an antique mirror worth $5k and other misc pieces. I filed a claim with their insurance company and after months they offered me $21.

Whatever you do, go with ANYONE else. Find a couple college kids and you’ll fare better than I did. Never heard from anyone at Mayzlin again. S bunch of crooks who subcontract a bunch of amateurs. It was criminal honestly. Jeanne Nugent

Official company response

First, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience the customer has endured during the move. It is never our intention that customers will have a less than satisfying experience.

We understand moving can be very chaotic. However, it is the customer’s responsibility to make sure all items intended to be moved are collected by the movers before they sign off on the shipping documents and let them leave. Items not moving are to be placed in a room not accessible to movers and items to be shipped marked as such. When the movers are ready to leave, the customer must inspect their home to assure nothing intended for shipping was left behind. However, the customer was referred to CSI to file a claim for loss.

Per the Bill of Lading governing the customer's move, the customer chose to release their goods to the carrier under the limited liability coverage of 60 cents per lb. per article to which their signature attests. Under this choice of coverage, the carrier's legal liability for loss or damage is limited to 60 cents per lb. per article and will only apply when the loss or damage claim is determined to be due to the carrier's negligence or mishandling of the customer's goods. This coverage was provided to the customer free of charge as required by federal regulations and allowed them to enjoy lower rates for their move. The customer had the opportunity to select the Full Value (Replacement) Protection at an additional cost but elected to decline the additional coverage and costs related to it.

A brief review of the inventory sheets reveals that the customer did not make any notations indicating any loss or damage to their goods as it is required to do at the time of delivery. Once the customer contacted us we immediately referred them to our claims company CSI to file a claim for loss, damage, delay, overcharge or complaint, and compensation was offered based on our legal liability.

We regret the customer felt the need to post this review and trust they are now able to better understand our position in this matter.

Local move within Brentwood, MD

Beware

If you’re reading this, beware of this company. My review is a lot to read, but I promise it’s worth it. You’ll save money and time. Here’s my detailed experience:

On 10/18/2022, I inquired about a quote for a move from Brentwood, MD to Los Angeles, CA with Mayzlin Relocation. This call (with Sales Rep Chris Gibson) included conversations about inquiry of cost for services, pick-up/drop off policy, request for advising on delivery window given the specifics of my move, and inquiry of additional costs that may be incurred during this transaction.

On 10/28/2022, I circled back and confirmed booking MAYZLIN, with a pick up date of 11/14-11/15 and delivery date of 11/28.

On November 7, I completed a quality assurance FaceTime call and text correspondence (with Christina Blosser) showing my storage unit and all items in it. I was given a cost for packing supplies that would be included in my overall price.

On November 8, I was was requested to confirm truck dimensions for delivery to determine need for additional shuttle. I submitted verbal and text confirmation that the dimensions were acceptable from the apartment building.

On November 15, I was contacted an hour before by a driver saying they would be at location for pick up. This was outside of the 24 hour notice I was told I would receive. I was also charged extra for packing materials already accounted for, and fees for moving items from location to truck outside of the allotted 75 feet, which was never previously explained nor was it accurate (I have videos and measuring to prove this).

On November 25, I called to check on the status of the delivery and was told that per the policy, the company has 5-21 business days from delivery date to delivery items (yes, you read that correctly). I was confused about this but upon further investigation, requested to change my date to 11/25 to begin the process. I was also told then that I could have expedited the move for additional $1-2k, but I had missed the window to do so. This was done so by an Ayesha (no last name) who told me I could not contact anyone above her as she was the manager, and the only way to escalate my concerns would be via email which would also come to her.

On November 28, I arrived at the delivery location in Los Angeles. I then begin a series of calls, every 2-3 days, to check on the status of my delivery. I was told for the first two weeks that my belongings were not able to be included on a shipment out yet. I again inquired about the 5-21 business day window, at which time I was informed this included weekends but not holidays.

On December 8, I was told items were scheduled to be on a truck in transit by December 10.

On December 12, I was told items were in route and given a 7 day window for delivery.

On December 15, I was told items were expected to arrive between December 21-22.

On December 19, I was told my delivery date changed to December 23-24. I then communicated that I did not know if anyone would be at the desk to operate the loading dock on Christmas Eve, and that would be something I’d need to check.

On December 20, I circled back with Customer Service to inform them that I needed 72 hours to inform my concierge about a loading dock reservation, and I still had no confirmation about 12/24, Christmas Eve. On this call I was also told I would need a shuttle for $500 as the driver has determined, without seeing the location on site, that the truck would not fit despite confirmation from the apartment building that the dimensions of the truck were acceptable. As of this afternoon I have been told items will arrive on December 26, after Christmas.

Desired resolution: safe transport and delivery of my items, without damage, preferably before the new year. It’s been the overall lack of compassion, communication and concern from customer service that’s really blown me away. Condescending, patronizing and lacking empathy especially during the holidays.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $5000

Official company response

First, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience the customer has endured during the move. It is never our intention that customers will have a less than satisfying experience.
The customer was asked what the date will be the first available date they will be ready for delivery. The customer stated 11/29/2022. From that date we have up to 21 business days to attempt the delivery of the shipment. We will not guarantee a date for delivery unless a dedicated truck was requested and paid for. We must take into consideration road conditions, weather, and mechanical issues that can affect truck routes. Everything that was agreed upon is in writing and it is the customer’s responsibility to verify all their needs are included in the original estimate.
The foreman is not in position to assume that all the items present are to be moved. The foreman doesn’t always recognize that additional items were added to the original list of items to be moved. Especially if such information is not offered by the customer in advance. Therefore, the crew is ordered to commence the wrapping and loading of items. However, once additional items were identified, the foreman will cease work until they carefully inspect the entire shipment, issue a Revised Binding Estimate, require the customer to sign agreeing that changes were made and that they accept the resulting increase of charges.
The driver is ultimately the responsible party for the safety of the tractor trailer, the crew, the shipment, and the surrounding environment (i.e yards, cars, buildings, etc.). Should the driver feel uncomfortable to safely perform the pick up or delivery of a shipment, they are required to take the necessary measures to perform the service in a safe manner even if that means that the customer will be charged for it. Otherwise it is the carrier’s legal right to delivery shipment to the last safe accessible point. Any damages which may be incurred for attempting a delivery in an unsafe manner are at the driver’s risk of losing not only their job but their CDL driver’s license as well as fines.
The customer was referred to our claims service provider CSI to file a proper claim as required by the law. The customer was sent login information on 01/03/2023 to file a claim online. Once the claim is received it will be analyzed in the order it was received and compensation will be offered based on our legal liability and within the time frame allowed by law. For further assistance with filing claims you may contact CSI directly at 772-742-5246 or online at Claims@CSIPros.org

Long-distance move from Bailey Island, ME to Mason, MI

All did well

Choosing a moving company is a major source of worry for me. Putting money into this firm was a brilliant financial choice. I asked for a two-person crew, but fate sent me five instead. They excelled at what they did and clearly enjoyed doing it. Because of their upbeat attitude and kind assistance, my entire relocation went well. There have been too many instances to count when I've hired movers just to have them whine, making them look unprofessional. They were wonderful gentlemen: on time, cautious, and helpful. very recommended.

TERRIBLE - DO NOT USE

My son moved across several states and he gave them exact date he would be in new state for them to deliver. When picked up stuff...tried to write same date and guy who picked up stuff said up to 4 weeks (news to us). After many attempts to call and find out where stuff was...always rude and no update. He got his stuff 2 and 1/2 weeks after he moved in. They also lost the 4th chair to his dining room table. TERRIBLE!!!

Good Communication!!!

I only recently relocated. Before asking me, Mark from the office confirmed the truck's arrival time. In addition, I informed him that Mark is highly regarded. I asked if he would let me have him for my move. Mayzlin Relocation didn't make me any promises, but I must admit that they were great! They arrived promptly and WRAPPED all of my furniture and televisions. Also, they were very cordial. And a truck and two men are so much more expensive.

Awful service

This is a complete ripp off! They are not going to give you the exact date and times of delivery and pick up until 24h prior! They are going to make you miserable by many phone calls asking same questions about address and basic thing and at the end, you figure they don’t even communicate the corre address!! Despite giving all the information about exact items to move and describing the whole setting for pick up and delivery and asking them to give the final number , they charged me 700$ extra for just taking them from elevator to the apartment call it long distance carry! The other two companies that I worked with at same building, didn’t charge me for this.

The company that I work for is going to pay the whole amount but this has been super unfair and unprofessional, that has made me to put a review, help others to not get into this mess.

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $3700

Official company response

We would like to apologize for any inconvenience that the customer may have experienced. It is never our intention for our customers to be less than satisfied with our services. Per the carrier's applicable tariff and terms and conditions, in the event, there is an excessive carry of anything over and above the first 75 feet, which is considered a normal access condition, the customer will incur a charge of $75 per every additional 75 feet increment, in the customer location at the destination there were 600 feet of carrying distance that was the reason why long carry fee had to be charged. We have contacted CSI our claims service provider to initiate a claim file for the customer and allow them to file a proper claim as required by law. The claim login information sent to the customer allows filing a claim for loss, damage, delay, overcharge, and complaint. All the above can and must be compensated through the claims process as required by federal regulations and up to date no claim has been received.

Long-distance move from Jacksonville, NC to Pine Island, MN

Awful

This company was the worst moving experience we've ever had in eight years of four moves. Their customer service/company representatives were rude, unresponsive, and in one particular case outrightly hostile. Any answers to questions were constantly contradicting and we were shuffled from one customer service representative to another.

Items were left off of our ticket from the start of the process onwards which compiled into almost $2,000 extra charges we weren't originally quoted. We attempted to correct their mistakes in our item count both over the phone and via email. It required multiple inquiries during the entire process on our end to ensure that problems created by this company were fixed. We are having to put in claims for three broken pieces of furniture and anticipate that we won't receive compensation in any form given their prior actions. They describe themselves as military-friendly, but could not provide any movers with on-base access after agreeing to.

Finally, at drop off, we had several items damaged, half of the furniture unassembled, and a large pile of trash left outside of our garage by the movers. Overall, we spent $12,000 and regret every cent. Please, use someone local or move yourself instead of spending a good chunk of your savings fighting for your items back.

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $12000

Official company response

First, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience the customer has endured during the move. It is never our intention that customers will have a less than satisfying experience.
We regret the customer had to sustain such unacceptable behavior of our foreman and/or crew. Our company policy provides for disciplinary action when such a complaint is received by a customer. The matter has been addressed by management. We thank you for bringing the matter to our attention as it helps our quality control department avoid such future complaints.
Our Original Estimate lists what services are included and what services (if necessary) are provided for additional charges. The customer supplied us an inventory list consisting of 45 Items and 101 pieces to ship which were estimated to take approximately 1126 cf. (7882 lbs) . At the QA call,  the customer requested to ship 65 Items, 139 pieces. This resulted in 1450 cf. (10150 lbs), increasing the number that they divulged to our estimator.
If customers DO NOT accept the new charges they have the following 3 options: Cancel the move – the customers can decide to cancel the move and no additional charges will be imposed other than to pay for the services already rendered. Keep Original Estimate – customers can decide to only ship the original items list (or the equivalent weight / space) and utilize the services originally ordered for no additional charge. Accept the Revised Estimate – customers can accept the newly revised estimate listing the additional items and services now requested and complete the move.
The customer was referred to our claims service provider CSI to file a proper claim as required by the law. The customer was sent login information on 06/23/2023 to file a claim online. The claim login information sent to the customer allows filing a claim for loss, damage, delay, overcharge, and complaint. All the above can and must be compensated through the claims process as required by federal regulations. The claim was received and it will be analyzed in the order it was received and compensation will be offered based on our legal liability and within the time frame allowed by law.
For further assistance with filing claims the customer may contact CSI directly at 772-742-5246 or via email at claims@CSIPros.org. Please provide Claim ID 1000-2582 when contacting CSI.

Long-distance move from Alexandria, VA to Tampa, FL

Truly just bad

This will be a bit long, but if you don’t want to read it all just know - DON’T use this moving company.

First things first, THEIR GOOGLE REVIEWS ARE SKETCHY. I used to work for a website that provides a similar service to Google Reviews, and all I’m saying is that it’s very weird all of these 5-star reviews come in as the only review on a persons profile. And they’re all lacking any sort of detail….idk but that’s weird. Check their Yelp page to see the truth of their service ?

My boyfriend handled coordinating our move from VA to FL, and chose to work with Mayzlin. The planning, pricing, and coordinating phases of the move went very smoothly. The price seemed reasonable, and our sales person Danny Murphy (who is actually Danny Mayzlin, the son of the owner Simon Mayzlin - why did you give us a different last name? That’s so weird) was very available and helpful…in the beginning.

We had the movers pick up our things on August 16th, and the move was scheduled for August 19th. We didn’t know this initially, but the movers told us they were going to move our things from VA to BALTIMORE and keep them in a warehouse until our move, which I hadn’t heard over until the day of the move. The language barrier between us and the movers made this a bit tougher to understand.

We knew there was a seven day delivery window, but we had planned the move over 3 months in advance so we were hopeful things would go smoothly. We had to fly down to Florida that weekend to receive our things, and to little surprise our things did not arrive. Fair enough, we knew there may be a delay, but the frustration came from the lack of communication.

I called, texted, and emailed basically begging for somebody to just get in touch with me to tell me what was going on. Our main point of contact, was never heard from again. Even to the time of writing this review, we have never been able to get in touch with him again. The multiple emailed I sent to customer service never got a reply. And then the voicemails I left with customer service did not reply until over a week later, basically saying there was nothing to update.

Finally, after returning to VA and staying with family on August 25th they tell us they will deliver our things IN A WEEK. We end up moving down permanently before our things arrive. So we sleep on an air mattress for a week, with no idea where any of our things are. Nobody to speak with, we just hoped our things would arrive eventually. Come September 1st, only after telling us that their truck won’t fit in our apartment complex, they move all of our things into ANOTHER truck and deliver our things at 9pm. Crazy enough, the movers that moved in our furniture were the ONLY competent people throughout this entire process.

I regret not paying more for a more reputable and professional company. I am very disappointed in their lack of communication, and timeliness. The sales person Danny abandoned us once he got our money, and the customer service dispatchers basically gave us nothing. It’s a literal joke that their website says ‘no hidden costs, customer centric’ and most of all ‘award winning’ LMFAO…yeah right.

Official company response

We would like to apologize for any inconvenience that the customer may have experienced. It is never our intention for our customers to be less than satisfied with our services.

The customer was asked what the date will be the first available date they will be ready for delivery. The customer stated 08/19/2023. From that date we have up to 30 business days to attempt the delivery of the shipment. We must take into consideration road conditions, weather, and mechanical issues that can affect truck routes. Everything that was agreed upon is in writing and it is the customer’s responsibility to verify all their needs are included in the original estimate.

A shuttle service is required when a tractor trailer is unable to access the residence at origin or destination allowing the completion of the pick up or delivery of the shipment. A shuttle fee will be charged in addition to the cost of the move, this disclosed on the original estimate that if the customer's destination cannot accommodate a 53' tractor trailer, the customer will be charged a shuttle fee.

The customer was referred to our claims service provider CSI to file a proper claim as required by the law. The customer was sent login information on 09/05/2023 to file a claim online.
