Los Angeles Transfer and Storage

Overall very good and fairly painless experience for my move from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, with one exception during delivery detailed below. Throughout the whole process, my contact at the company was very responsive, pickup/delivery was on-time, and no items were missing or damaged.

Within a few minutes after submitting my info through their website and request to be contacted, I got a call to discuss my move and set up an in-home estimate. A few days later, on a Thursday afternoon, a representative met with me at my residence and I was given a flat-rate quote for door-to-door pick-up, transfer, and delivery of my belongings, including any remaining boxes and packaging that I may need. An additional fee ($250.00) for a potentially necessary delivery shuttle was also discussed and quoted in the event that the 18-wheeler used for the long haul would be unable to park at my new residence. In the end, though, this did not happen and the fee was not charged.

Three days later on Sunday morning, pick-up, packaging, and inventory of my items and furniture took about 2.5 hours for a large 1-bedroom apartment between three personnel who worked quickly, and were friendly and courteous.

Delivery was scheduled for and took place the following Tuesday morning. Somewhere in the move between L.A. and L.V. my belongings were transferred to a local subcontractor, New Planet Moving & Storage (NPM&S), who were then responsible for the delivery to my new residence. Upon meeting with the two workers handling my delivery, I was informed that I was being charged an additional $250.00 due to the distance from the truck loading ramp to the elevator at my new building being longer than 75 feet. I told them flat-out that I would not be paying this as my original quote was a flat rate for door-to-door service and did not include provisions for any additional fees besides the one listed above (quite the coincidence that what they wanted to charge me was the same as the unnecessary shuttle fee above, huh?). They (NPM&S) then tried to negotiate the fee down to $175.00 and, again, I told them no. Eventually, I had to call L.A. Transfer & Storage who then had to contact the local company (NPM&S) and work something out between themselves. All of this took an hour on top of the 3 hours for delivery.

Although it may have been NPM&S’s policy to charge for a “long-distance carry,” it’s not the customer’s responsibility to inform them (read: argue) about the terms set in the original quote with the customer’s contracted company -- this is something that needs to be handled beforehand and agreed upon by the two companies. An unnecessary, avoidable headache in an otherwise smooth experience.

My family had an excellent experience with Los Angeles Transfer and Storage. We actually used them twice. The first time was to have them move some of our belongings into storage. The second time around, we had them move our belongings from our condo and storage unit into our new house. We worked with five movers, in total. All of them were fast, yet very careful and respectful of our belongings. Nothing was broken and I did not worry with how they loaded and unloaded the truck. All of the movers were fun to have around. They all joked around with us while staying focused on moving and careful of their language around the kids. Overall, a great experience and I recommend them to people all the time.

Three months ago I had to move my new leased vehicle from Los Angeles to New Jersey. I was very reluctant and nervous to ship my new car. I was contemplating to even drive it myself. A friend convinced me to call David and have his moving company take care of it for me. From the moment I spoke to David until my car arrived to New Jersey I could not be more pleased. He even let me call him 4 times a day to check on my car. David's expertise and patience was calming and made the entire experience super smooth. I had to change the pick up date quite a few times and David was flexible with my unpredictable work schedule. I arrived back east and had my car so quickly in perfect condition. I thought at first I was shopping around for a car transport company but in the end I met and found a great company that I cannot recommend enough! The process was smooth!
Thank you David! I hope I don't move back to Los Angeles anytime soon but I do know who I will be calling!! Refer to your friends and family! They will be just as happy as I was if not more!!

We moved from CA to MD and David responded within an hour of our quote request and had provided me a quote in less than an hr. I needed a quick pickup with a two day turnaround and the deposit was processed within the hour as well. They came eary for the pickup and David was there to coordinate the pickup. He went over all the steps to fully complete the pickup. Went very smoothly for the pickup. I recommend them x 1000 and their reputation on the reviews is nothing less than great that's been given so far.

I'd recommend LA Transfer to anybody, in fact I just did for another friend who's also about to make a cross-country move. My girlfriend were so impressed with how clear and honest the service was. David came to our house for our free consult and we were all ready to go by the end of the day. Things happened EXACTLY like he said they would. They provided us with boxes and tape to pack our things and were in and out in less than 2 hours on the day they picked things up. David's estimate was spot on. We even had a few extras to add to our inventory and the additional fee was incredibly reasonable. We thought that a POD would be a good deal but LATS was way cheaper and we felt really well taken care of. David and his team are making us feel great about our cross-country move and are going to have plenty of peace of mind as we enjoy our cross-country trip knowing our stuff is in good hands.

I had a great experience with this company when I recently moved from LA to Texas. David, the manager, worked with my student budget to give me a great discount on the moving price as well as the price for a guaranteed move date. He is very responsive and always replied to my texts and phone calls. He also responded to my request for a quote almost immediately and was very flexible with times to come by and check out the apartment. He delivers all the supplies you need for packing as well so you never have to go anywhere to get the move done.

The moving process was quick and painless and David was there every step of the way. The movers came to the apartment close to the beginning of their predicted time window and were done within the hour. The movers will help you with all of your clothes as well as packing up your furniture for you and taking care of your larger pictures; so the packing process was easy and convenient.

All of my items arrived in Texas a timely manner (less than a week) with no damage. The movers were even kind enough to take boxes up and down a flight of stairs in the home for me. All of the boxes are marked and David makes sure that you know exactly how many boxes and extra items are loaded on the truck and you are given a receipt of everything before the truck leaves your place. Then, upon arrival, you can check everything before signing off on the move. Everything was documented and labelled really well so the verification process was easy.

I would definitely recommend this company to students or young professionals who want a quick and affordable move!

This was our first time using a moving company for our move and I was a bit nervous. After meeting and talking with Daivd, all my worries and nerves were put at ease. He answered all my questions day or night. On the day of our move, the guys were awesome. Very friendly, professional and quick workers. They took care of our things as if it were their own. I felt comfortable knowing my stuff was in good hands and I didn't feel I needed to hover but just so back and watch them do all the heavy lifting. I would highly recommend them.

So far this company and Dave have been a pleasure to work with. Dave supplied us with all of the necessary materials (boxes, tape, wrapping paper) to pack all of our possessions free of charge. Everything throughout the course of the move thus far has been performed with speed, efficiency and professionalism. Everyone that we have interacted with from the company has been very kind and friendly. So far I have no complaints about my experience with this company. However, we still have not reached our destination and begun the process of moving into our new place so I cannot comment on that stage of the process.

Very impressed by the fast service offered by this moving company. From the first day I called them to inquire about their services I got an immediate response and a called back by David who almost immediately came to our bungalow in Venice to do an estimate inventory. We decided on the day of the move and materials were provided days before to pack. David was clear about our inquiries and service especially for additional costs after estimate. Movers were friendly and came early in the morning. Everything was handled professionally and quickly.

While waiting to receive our all our stuff David kept updating us on the delivery status, which took less days then expected! A day before delivery Michael called me and let us know he would be coming the next day. On the day of the delivery Michael and his crew were very friendly and unloaded very fast the furniture and boxes.

This has been an overall an easy move considering how hard it is to move from one state to another. I highly recommend Los Angeles Transfer and Storage for moving out of state. They're fast, reliable, friendly and very professional. Great crew David and Micheal. Thank you again.
