Konami Moving and Storage

Konami is the most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with (and the brokers they subcontract with). They are hired by scammer “brokers” who misrepresent their role in the transaction. When Konami shows up, they will convince you to sign a new contract, contrary to your agreement with the broker. If you don't sign their new contract, they will threaten you that you will lose your deposit. In my situation, they alleged that the inventory list from my binding contract was not the list that was sent to them and then demanded significantly more money to take my items. Worst of all, they refused to take my essential items, including my refrigerator, washing machine and four flat screen TV’s. The broker promised to have my items delivered by 5/29/20. It is now 7/22/20 and Konami still has my entire life’s possessions in some storage in Las Vegas. The worst, most emotionally draining experience of my life.

I booked a move from Utah to Iowa. Dates and times were set and they did not show up three times for various reasons. I had paid a deposit of $1075. The 4th attempt the driver was 4 hours away. My landlord had moved all of my belongings into the parking lot. I had to rent a uhaul truck. The driver said he'd be there by 10:00pm. Too late. They refused to return my money claiming I broke the contract by not waiting for their driver. I believe they broke the contract by not showing up 3 times. Very rude. BTW I just checked their website they don't even operate out of IT or Iowa. Lesson learned. Do not use this company. They are also fishy as they operate a gaming business in Los Vegas, NV.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2875

Initially spoke with Jessica regarding pick up. Asked for delivery by August 30/September 1st. She checked with manager and said that our pickup date should give an estimated delivery date of that time. This is the only reason we went with a moving company instead of doing the rent a truck/move on our own in the first place. She heavy advised me against another moving company due to bad reviews.

Was initially quoted for much less items because we though we would get rid of a lot. Then started thinking about how much it would be to replace everything so decided to keep more.

Did final walk through with Nikki on 8/23 over the phone and was quoted $3300. Walked around with measuring tape to give her dimensions of things, including boxes. Even asked about keeping a few larger items off (mattresses) to lessen cost, it only dropped by about $100 so we decided to keep them on.

Had to keep calling to get a pickup time frame - was told on 8/23 pick up would be between 12-2 on 8/24 called at 1:30 on 8/24 to find out where my truck was, was delayed until 4-6pm. Called at 5:10pm - could not get ahold of anyone, was never updated that a driver wasn’t coming. Called the next morning 8/25 and was told there was a truck 30 minutes away and I was the next stop with a pickup time between 10-12, was called back and told they dispatched a different truck and I was the first pickup on that truck estimated 12-2. Finally talked with the truck driver to find out I was not his first stop so update pick up moved until 2-4. Talked with again and found out new estimated time was 4-6. Finally arrived at 6:20pm and wasn’t finished loading up until 11:00pm. Gave the original “managers discount” offered of $300 but the price jumped from $3300 to $4600.

They arrived so late and had no light so I had to sit in my car with the lights on. Tried to turn on my car and the battery had died. So then sat there with it running for almost an hour.

I didn’t know about the 30 day thing until I signed something about it with the movers. He told me, they say 30 days but it never takes them that long you should have it in 7-14 days.

9/10 - told that our stuff was scheduled to be loaded over the weekend and we would get it 3-7 business days after that.

9/15 - talked with Lily- was frustrated and upset. Told our stuff wouldn’t be picked up until it was scheduled “on the manifest” which wouldn’t be until the middle of the following week.

9/15 - spoke with Cici about picking up our belongings personally in Las Vegas. Was directed to send an email to request it. Never got a response.

When calling the company I have been repeatedly put on hold on to have the call ended 10-20 minutes later.

9/19 - filed claim with DOT online form

“Based on our review of the information provided we have determined that we do not have primary oversight and the appropriate venues are the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the local courts.”

9/21 - received a call saying my stuff is being loaded on a truck today and tomorrow and would be receiving it in 2-5 days then was told that is incorrect and would be receiving it in 4-7 days.

Everything we went through and we only received a $100 discount.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $4600

This company has a cool $1075 deposit of mine. They didn't show up three times. By the time they were supposedly going to show up on the fourth day, my apartment contents were in the parking lot, I had been evicted.. At 5:00pm still no communication. I had to rent a Uhaul in the middle of the covid lock down. I was told I broke the contract by not waiting for the driver. The driver was down in Blueberry UT, there is no such place. The way I see it they broke the contract 4 times. When I could get them on the phone they were so rude like I was bothering them. suggestion: Do Not Call KONAMI.

Konami was sent to us by Moving Pro US. The booking company couldn't find the moving van and told us they didn't know where our stuff was. Then we were told it was in a warehouse in las Vegas. Then they didn't know again, but wanted 18k. For what? Dec 2020 till today, may 8, 2021, we still have no idea where our stuff is. We've had to buy new furniture and household items and have had to go into debt. They contacted us recently to tell us "the truck is on the way, you owe us 10k". Seriously? Everything we own was taken by them. We have a new 3000 ft house and no furniture. Karen keeps telling us we have a zero balance, then asks for 10,000.00. It's ridiculous and maddening. We have to pay an attorney now to try and get back what Moving Pro US and Konami Moving stole from us over 5 months ago.

Worse company in the world! Will bait and switch and threaten you if you complain. Moved in large truck with others. NOT a deal. Will charge after getting your valuables. Took two weeks longer. After charging twice as much as quoted, got eight blocks away snd said they couldn’t drive down our street. Complete lie. Called police. No city hall said it wasn’t true. Said they would rent a uhaul and bring for $1,800 more. We had to get a Uhaul and deliver to ourselves and hire people to move in our home. After having paid them. No customer service. A “real” Karen Beardsley was horrible and yelled and threatened us. Wouldn’t give her last name. No pride in this company, the blame each other for problems. FRAUDULENT!!!

Do not! I repeat, DO NOT use this company. I cannot stress it enough!

I do not believe I ever spoke to anyone that didn’t lie to me or mislead me in some way.

Do not go with any company that wants money up front and will not guarantee a set price.

Every time I spoke with someone the price increased.

It was over 6 weeks, that’s 42 days, from pickup to delivery of our furniture and belongings.

The initial pick up date of 09/15/2020 was a day late placing us in a very frustrating situation of possibly not getting out on time.

The estimated delivery date was missed by over 30 days which required us to purchase temporary furniture to get by.

Once delivery was finally made many items were damaged with boxes that had been handled upside down, torn and wrapped with tape to keep the contents from spilling out.

I had to assist the driver in backing his rig into the complex and re-assembly of the furniture. To which some I had to come back to and correct.

I have filed a claim for the damages and sure I will not even come close to the recovering the actual value.

Do to the limit on size I have had to cut my time line.

Pickup date was 09/14/2020

Delivery date was 09/21/2020

Spoke with Shawn Williams. He said he would be my contact and that he would be with me through the entire process. (THIS WAS THE FIRST LIE)

Spoke with her once and was never able to get her on the line again.

The pick up date was missed and then late.

On 09/24/2020 the pursuit of our belongings began.

From this point forward I had 27 emails, 29 text messages, and over 20 phone calls where I either had to leave a message or it went straight to hold. It the cases where I did speak to someone, most of the time the response was a scripted one.

10/30/2020

5:46 pm Driver (Derrick) arrives.

6:20 pm Driver is finally able to start unloading. A lot of items damaged. I have taken pictures to record this and I will place a claim. The driver was going to leave, and I had to stop and instruct him that he had to put the furniture that was disassembled back together. I had to assist them in the assembly because they did not have the knowledge on some of the items. These were quite simple items, like table legs and bed frames.

11:15 pm Delivery complete.
