Go to Troy Transportation Moving and Storage to read their reviews. They delivered our belongings with close to $20,000 in damages not to mention the overweight price they charged us and provided no proof of weight. Long-distance move from Calgary, AB to Regina, SK

Do not take responsibility for their mistakes.

A few years ago I booked Kingsway to move some used furniture from Calgary to Regina. I cancelled the order and booked a different company. Kingsway forgot to cancel the order and then the confusion began. The pick up contact without realizing it was receiving instructions from 2 different moving companies. The moving company was scheduled for 9 am. Kingsway called and said they would be late. The pick up contact had to change his schedule and went to work and the moving company I selected went to the house at 9 and there was no one there - so they had to go for a break. I had gone to great lengths to make it painless as the man I was buying from was a busy oil executive. I called Kingsway and asked for an apology and a small credit for the inconveniences. I was thinking $100 or so. Liz McClane took the call and was hard and rude and said "you mean you want me to give you money for a move we did not do??". She was a typical hard fast talker. I never did get an apology and the move could have been a complete disaster. They are a sketchy and rough group is all I can surmise. If not, Ms McClane, a senior staff member should be fired.

Long-distance move from Surrey, BC to Richmond Hill, ON

Complain.

The quote was not correct based on the list of items that were sent to them. The price inflated and things were added without knowledge and billed for supplies. They would not do anything till the money was paid by interact email money transfer. The credit card fee to pay was 33%. The stuff was damage and broken. The movers took no care of my walls that were recently painted. Damage some of the walls and stains all over my new place.
Then filled out a claims form and sent that in was told someone will contact me. Their claims department is a scam no one has contacted me till today. Once again emailed to find out what happend to my claim? We will get back to you. Yet nothing its been 7 weeks from the day the claim was submitted. This is the first and last time I would ever use them! The manager even had no courtesy to hear what the complaint was about and hung up on me! Now that's service isn't it??

Kingsway van lines.

How are these crooks still in business. Someone shut these scum bags down. Worst company I have ever dealt with and absolutely dishonest. Your quote will be wrong and once they have your belongings you are out of luck. They will hold them like hostages while they over charge you a ransom not even close to what you agreed upon. They shouldn’t get shut down..they should get put in prison.

No Stress.

I must start by saying that the last thing I had to worry about was actually payment!! Great professional service provided by David and the office and all was as per the timings promised. The guys who came to pack were helpful and prepared, I also moved my vehicle thru them and the vehicle arrived in perfect conditioned as loaded. I was very satisfied with the weekend delivery and the fact that I gave them the address 4 hours before delivery and all went off very well.

Long-distance move from Alberta to Quebec

Loved the service.

Recently relocated my family across the country to Quebec.  Had a rather good experience.  Movers asked me to post my review of them, and I put 5/5.  I am not a very picky person and in my opinion it was a good move.  Really had a pleasant experience with the delivery crew who helped me assemble everything and took away the debree.
A few years ago we moved through our work and the stuff was delayed by a few weeks, which was not pleasant.  Had to stay in a hotel.  But Kingsway was honest and delivered everything on time.  I was happy with their service overall, and was pleased with the final quote.  By the way the move was from Drayton Valley, AB to Laval.

Long-distance move from British Columbia to Ontario

Kingsway Vandal Lines.

Avoid!   Kingsway Van Lines was selected after requests for moving quotes from 11 moving companies. Initial quotes were widely varied so I refined the terms to include quotes to move 6000 lbs., all fuel surcharges, all scale, long carry, special item, ferry, 5 wks storage charges and all other incidental charges that may apply. I didn't want any surprises. From this process I developed a short list and interviewed by phone, the top 5 qualified movers. Price was not a main criteria as the cost was going to be covered by an employer. Kingsway was selected for a number of reasons, including the ratings on this and another site.   On moving day, three turks and a truck showed up with Vega movers painted on the truck - Kingsway had simply subcontracted it out to a mover who I had rejected for very sound reasons. I had arranged for the mover to pack the fragile items - kitchen items, ornaments and pictures as well as clothing in wardrobe boxes. They did not bring suppplies to do so. I ended up having to pack them myself from newspaper I took from the condo recycling room.   The truck was partially filled when it arrived and didn't have enough room, no matter how hard they pushed - and they pushed regarless of what it was. They were unable to compress all of it and left a few pieces of furniture and a closet full of clothes. The clothes we were able to take in our car, but we had not planned for this.   I'll spare the details about their behaviour on moving day, but as tenants, we are now potentially faced with a fine by the condo corp over activities of the movers on our move out. It has not yet been resolved.   Despite the detailed quote process, Maya (Kingsway) sent me an invoice that included several additional charges. They did drop the charges on my insistence, but I view this attempt as invoice fraud.   At our new address, unloading was undertaken by another unmarked moving company truck. I caught one of them, in the truck standing on top of an antique dresser, pulling items from further back and had to tell him to 'get off', he was going to break the legs off. Most items were showing signs of rough handling.   On inspection of my belonging on unpacking it was clearly evident that the movers gave no care and attention to preserving the condition of items. They were moving what might as well as have been a sack of hammers. Of approximately 120 moving boxes packed, most were split, dropped on corners, punctured or compressed. Less than 12 boxes could have been reused for anything. Multiple art pieces had been put in a picture box with no protection between pieces and then often dropped on corners or compressed by larger items into small spaces. A sofa that wouldn't fit was twisted to the point of breaking the frame. Even strong items like a bed frame were bent. Tuff Turks!   The only saving grace was that our belongings arrived. I will not use them again, nor would I recommend their service. I don't know how to hire a reliable mover, so I will hire a lawyer to hire my next one or do it myself.     Kings Vandal Lines would be a more appropriate moniker. Then your household insurance would cover the damages.

Movign Experience.

Highly Recommend This Company   My rep was David and I am impressed with his service and all the staff at Kingsway as everytime I called I had everyone giving me all the information I needed and no run arounds abou tthese "hidden charges" and "additional fees". The pickup was a a day late but no one could control the weather we experienced and even though the weather was horrible the driver and his hands were pleasant and cautious. The delivery was even smoother as nothing came damaged and Mark and Jason were great. Teh price was right and you really do get what you pay for. When I was asked to post a review I was all for it as I have moved serval tiems and this.. was by far the BEST move I have had and I will never use a another moving comapny again. If you want an easy move I woudl recommend using Kingsway because you get all the breakdowsn and no hassle.   Thanks David and thank you Kingsway!  .

Long-distance move from Ontario to Alberta

My furniture was picked up on Nov. 14th. and I still do not have it.

My furniture was picked up in Ontario on Nov. 14th. and my car was picked up on Nov.21st. Every time I call to find out where they are I get different answer. A couple of days ago they said that my furniture would be delivered this weekend and now they say that it will only be arriving in Edmonton this week end. They told me my car was in Edmonton and they were waiting for the yard to be plowed out and I would get delivery on Thursday or Friday. After talking to Tracy today she said they can't unload it because of black ice. I am trapped here without furniture and a car. This has been a very miserable experience and I hope nobody hires this company and has to go through what I.

Move from Quebec to Ontario.

My furniture was picked up on Dec 5th and delivered on Dec 6th as promised.  The movers were courteous and did a great job, wrapping my furniture with blankets and table glass tops, and I had quite a few.  They were quick and professional.  I was expecting to have some of the broken glass or chair legs, and I was most happy that my furniture arrived without any mishaps.  I would recommend Kingsway Van Lines without any hesitation and would definitely use them again.

A Seamless Move!

This was my first time using a moving company and did I ever luck out! My move needed to happen quite quickly, and when I say quickly it was a matter of days.
I submitted an online quote form and was contacted after typical working hours in under an hour.  I spoke with my assigned representative, Tracy, the following day and confirmed the details for my pick up and delivery.  As this was my first experience using a moving company I had many questions and concerns that were all answered in a manner that made me much more comfortable with the experience. It was literally that easy!
Two days later the movers showed up right on time, I had also been given a phone call about an hour before to let me know that they were on their way. On arrival, the movers were friendly and beyond efficient in and out in approx 45 minutes. All of my furniture was carefully wrapped and attended to which was much appreciated.
After that point, my entire life was on a truck bound for nb. Three days later I received a phone call from the driver letting me know that they were on route to deliver my items. Once again they were right on time and extremely efficient and very friendly.
I am still amazed on how quick, easy and efficient that this process was. I would, hands down, recommend Kingsway and would 100% utilize their services again should I be needing them.
Thank you again, Kingsway, for a seamless move!

Long-distance move from Ontario to Alberta

I would never book with this company again.

I booked this company after reading online reviews and getting a price quote. Our move was from Ontario to Edmonton.
The men that came to pick up arrived within the estimated time window and moved efficiently. So far so good. After packing all of my items onto their truck they asked me down to the truck to sign papers. At this point the movers told me that if they wanted, they could charge me an extra charge for distance from door to truck, but they would be willing to look the other way if I gave a good tip. This was confusing to me as they chose to park further from the door than I recommended. As a young women who is inexperienced with moving, I was flustered and unsure how to handle the situation. I tipped them and off they went with my stuff.
Then if it weren't for me, I'm quite sure I never would have heard from the company again. Time went by and my boyfriend was in our new city waiting for our things to arrive. The company made no efforts to contact me with necessary information or updates on the status of our things. I emailed the company after a few days to ask what the official weight on the scale was (to know what our final price would be for the move). The weight estimate given was extremely larger than our quote. I called the company to try and speak to my representative and could not reach her. Another person listened to my issue and agreed that the weight seemed high. They offered a rescale of the items when they reached Edmonton.
Then again, silence. Weeks after our things were picked up I called the company again asking for an update on our items. I was told they it looked like they would be arriving that weekend (2 weeks after pick up) and we would be called before delivery.
The weekend went by and no stuff, no call. I emailed my representative from the company and she said it would arrive the next Monday, and that I would be the first delivery. No explanation was given as to where our stuff was, or had been over the past couple of weeks. Monday was not a good time for me so I asked for the first appointment that Wednesday (almost ONE MONTH after the original pick up). In this time, I had to go buy new clothes for job interviews and new household items to use for daily life as all of our things were on a mysterious truck somewhere.
In this series of e-mails I asked what the new scale weight was of my items. There was a 500lb difference!! The new total still seemed way too heavy but I was so done with dealing with this company and I just wanted my things.
The morning my things were to arrive I got a call that the movers would be there between 11-1. This didn’t seem like the first appointment as promised, but it would do. 1 o'clock rolls around and no movers. The elevator booking that I had made was over. I called the movers and the dispatch said they were running behind and would be there at 4. I called my representative about the situation as I was livid and had reached my wits end. She sympathized with me and apologized and said she would speak to her manager to give me a discount for my troubles and call me the next day. My stuff finally came at 6 o'clock. The men (a large team of them) moved efficiently and were kind.
All of my things arrived. There were damages to a lamp, mattress memory foam pad, and a broken side table. The boxes were in pretty rough shape and it was obvious no care was given to the boxes labelled as fragile or 'this side up'. I did not attempt to claim these damages with the company as I did not think it was worthwhile and was just please to finally have my things.
The next day came, when my representative was supposed to call me, and I heard nothing. One more day went by and I heard nothing. I finally e-mailed to hear what the company had to say and they offered me a mere $75 discount. A measly 3% off of my bill.
In the end, I got my things and that's what I needed from the company. But that being said, I would NEVER book with this company again. The communication was terrible, they misweighed by items by 500lbs and attempted to charge me for it, the delivery was very late, and I was majorly inconvenienced by the time it took to get my things.

Pros:

-All items arrived
-The movers doing the frontline work were nice and efficient

Cons:
-Items were misweighed
-Items seemed to disappear for 3 weeks and I was never told where they were or why delivery took so long
-Inconvenienced by the length of time it took to deliver
-Terrible communication by the company--I had to constantly take the initiative to find out information
-Delivery was late
-Items did not appear to be treated with respect.

Local move within Ontario

Painless move a pleasant surprise.

We moved from Mississauga to Antigonish, Nova Scotia, and the service we received was excellent. Our shipment arrived 3 days early and both pickup and delivery crews were very efficient, fast and professional. I have worked in the Transportation industry and am both leery and cautious when hiring moving companies but I have to say I have had a great experience dealing with Kingsway in all aspects of the services provided. Customer service was always quick to respond to inquiries and were polite and professional.
One thing I recommend for anyone contemplating a long distance move is to insist on a weight certificate showing the empty vehicle weight and to be present when the shipment is weighed after pickup. This prevents any surprises on delivery and will give you an accurate estimate on the expected cost. This applies to any mover that charges based on weight.

Long-distance move from Ontario to Quebec

Better Than Expected.

After deciding to move back from Toronto to Montreal, I was concerned about finding the right moving company to move my 1 bedroom condo items. I reviewed and received about 10 quotes from several moving companies. Many were overpriced and some were so low that it didn't feel right. After receiving my quote from Liz in customer service and asking her numerous questions, I was satisfied that their quote was the best option. On the day before my move, I received a call from dispatch confirming my movers would arrive in the morning (as I had confirmed my condo elevator was reservced in the morning). On the morning of my move, dispatched call to confirm the movers would arrive within the hour. The 3 movers (Sammy, Ismail & Brian) arrived and were professional, efficient and itemized all my belongings on a list and put stickers on all my boxes/items. I received a copy for my records. They worked so well together. As I was moving to a different province, my moving truck would deliver my items the following morning. As the next morning was raining heavy, the driver (Harp) called to say he would be about 30 minutes late due to the rain (which he was). Both Harp and Ahmed worked fast and diligent in the heavy rain to deliver my belongings. In both the pick-up and delivery, no items were lost or damaged. I would definitely use Kingsway Van Lines again on my next move. Note: The only reason my final price was more than my quote is because I added more items (flower planters) to my truck and it was worth the extra dollars so I didn't have to pack my car.

I love them.

My mother-in-law recommended kingsway  as a company that would do our moving. My husband and I decided to take her advice and it turned out she was right. The movers were running around our home to the truck at two hundred meter speed to load all valuables. But the speed never stood as impediment before them, did the job securely as well.  They moved my full possessions on time. They made me satisfied by their work.
I love them.

Poor Service of Kingsway Van Lines.

The professionals of this company misbehave with customers. If you have a thick skin, you can go for its service.   Furthermore, there are a lot of hidden costs that they don't inform to customers. Whenever you ask them regarding those hidden costs, they start misbehaving with you.   I took 1 minute to check the receipt as I have to submit this to my office, the delivery driver threatens me saying he would like to go back without delivering the items.   Those are my experience with this Kingsway Van Lines, and the decision is up to you if you want to go for its service.

The worst.

We went with Kingsway expecting to make our move easier. Boy were we wrong. If you want a company that will show up weeks late to pick up your stuff, to throw into the truck with little to no care and to show up late after you've been without your belongings at your new place to then be charged more than what they quoted, then by all means go with them. Otherwise, I urge you to look elsewhere as it has been nothing but a huge headache dealing with them.

Stay Away!

Our moving shipment came when promised in mid June - except for a $600 bike. The driver said he saw it at the warehouse and forgot to put it on the truck for delivery and he promised to deliver it the next night.
The next night we waited with no bike delivery, call or anything. We then started the painful process of trying to locate our bike or get a claim for it.
At first they were very pleasant on the phone about the situation, but after no results, I started calling almost every day for an update. It went from "just a minute I will transfer you" .. to "on another call" .. "not in the office" etc etc.
In this journey they did say there were 2 bikes found that they didn't know who they belonged to and asked me to send a picture of mine.. I did, but those bikes were not mine - and where were the stickers that would identify those bikes to their rightful home? .. hmmm maybe I am not the only one having the same problem with this company.
I was told on July 25th that they needed 2 additional weeks in order to do a thorough search of all their warehouses. I tried to push it up as it is summer and we were losing bike riding days. I was told they need 2 weeks or could not do an adequate search.
Long story short I finally was told in mid August that I could get a claim for it and was given the contact info for claims. I left several messages with no return call. However today I emailed and got a response that way.
They said they already sent out a claim report. I never received this so I requested another copy. In the copy I received it was dated August 3rd and it was offering $75 for our $600 bike. If I read it correctly, this was a steal of a deal because they stated there was a $375 deductible.. and it was only a 40lb bike therefore only worth $24 and so they still had $351 of the deductible left to work with before they actually had to offer me anything. I keep reading the letter and keep thinking I must be reading something wrong.
Please note: They needed two weeks in order to do an adequate search starting July 25th.. the offer date on the letter was August 3rd. Did they do a search, and if so was it adequate? Why were there 2 other bikes in their warehouse with unknown owners?

All I can advise to anyone reading this is that this reviewer had an absolutely horrible experience that is still going on 4 months after delivery.. or should I say non delivery.

Long-distance move from Ontario to Nova Scotia

Do not use! Worst experience! Ever.

I can't describe enough how disappointed I was with this company! First thing the day before the move was supposed to happen I got no phone call to when the truck was supposed to arrive. I had to call them several times. And of course, late in the day, I get a phone call saying that there truck broke down and can't come until the next day when I had plans to leave the day of the move. The had absolutely no backup plan and wouldn't even give me a discount or anything. My quote for the move was 1025$! And a cold days after they picked my stuff up they emailed me saying that my stuffed weighed 5300 pounds and that I owed them 3500$! I weighed my stuff prior and had a little over 2000 pounds. Just ridiculous and complete fraud! Do not use Kingsway Van Lines! I called them about all this and said they can go to the next weigh station but there going to charge me an extra 200$ for a resale fee! Crazy! After 6 days they finally arrive unprofessionally swearing. The driver asked were all the stuff was going which was up a couple stairs in a garage for storage. He said well I'm going to have to charge you extra for that. Another 200$. I said no I'm not paying that and he insulted me about it. And they just dropped everything right out front. Worts experience ever! I hope everyone reads this and use a different company! Total fraud! And on top of all that many things were damaged behind repair! Didn't take care of anything whatso ever!

Long-distance move from Ontario to British Columbia

Buyer beware!

I was moving from Kitchener Ontario to Burnaby BC. After extensive emailing, researching each company status with the Better Business Bureau, and reading online reviews, I decided to book with Canadian moving systems. I forwarded the information to my father-in-law since he was going to be the contact person as I was already in BC and he was paying for the move. Eva McDonald was our contact person with Canadian Moving systems, she sent my father a secondary quote with all of the terms and conditions, there was one small change which we did not notice where it listed the carrier as Kingsway movers. It is the contention of the general manager Kingsway that the liabilities, thier insurance works, and additional insurance options were discussed with my father-in-law, at no point was this ever discussed nor were any additional insurance options offered. There is one sentence on the contract where it says some sort of replacement insurance is available, but my in-laws did not see it, nor was it ever discussed. A few days before the move my in-laws were contacted to let them know a phone call would be made to give them an exact time for the pick up. My in-laws contacted Canadian moving systems after that to be told that from now on Kingsway would be there contact. Kingsway met my father-in-law at the storage unit very quickly moved all the stuff give them some papers to sign and left. My father-in-law maintains that at no point was he given adequate time to read any of this information. Although the terms and conditions of liability were listed in the contract Maya Bloom insists that we had insurance discussed with us, this was never the case, we were not aware nor was any additional insurance offered. When it came time to receive my goods a van with the name Vega line on the side arrived. I was immediately concerned because they the line was one of the companies I had researched with 90 complaints in three years I never would've allowed them to move my goods. The gentleman came upstairs and asked where they would be putting stuff, I showed them an area in the kitchen. When one of the gentleman was moving the very large tower boxes, one of the boxes almost dropped and I caught it. I heard the sound of broken contents so I need at the opened the box which was clearly marked fragile. The entire contents of the box, my dishes, was shattered to pieces. I then started to open the other fragile boxes and noted the more damage. I ask the movers to note the damage on the inventory for the contract they refused stating that I was not their customer, they did not work for Kingsway therefore they were not liable and refused to sign anything. They tried to leave with my contract and would not give it to me, I had to remove it from the clipboard and ask them to leave my house. After going through each and every box carefully and slowly for a few days after, I noted over $1300 in damage. This is including three boxes that are still missing and Maya Bloom insists were delivered. She maintains the tags must've fallen off, to which my response was if there was no tags on the boxes how do you know where they went? Kingsway maintains that my total weight was 1500 pounds, there is absolutely no way that is possible. It was 38 household boxes with basic household goods including boxes filled with filing boxes and a few papers, one box just had martini glasses, and other boxes had things like towels sheets and lamps. They sent me a scale ticket , but I have since learned through other people have contacted me regarding their disputes at Kingsway that a number of people have had issues with the weight of goods that Kingsway has provided. You need to ask to be present during the weigh. I did not know this was an option, and I will be disputing my weight as well. I called Kingsway rather upset at the treatment of the movers, there are unprofessional behavior, and the damaged goods. I was told to file a claim. Maya Bloom insisted that the movers did not work for Vega line and were in fact her employees. In an email she swore to me that they were her employees, and that they had bought the truck from Vega Line since it was going out of business. She also told me that she would take full responsibility for the move. I contacted Vega line myself on two separate occasions and they confirmed for me that yes they were indeed subcontracted to do my move. They also confirmed for me that no they were not going out of business and we're not selling off trucks as part of going out of business. The manager I spoke to was very fearful of being named and did not wish to put anything in writing but assured me that he would tell the truth if need be. Maya Bloom insists that because we signed a contract where their liability is put in writing that she is only liable for $.60 a pound, that I am responsible for the deductible, and that since we refused additional insurance after a discussion which never took place that I will get very little. I dispute that we were ever offered additional insurance in spite of the fact that there is some print on the contract. It seems to me that the terms and conditions of the contract should be as Maya Bloom insisted has already happened, discussed. It was never explained that replacement insurance was available, or we would have used it. Regardless of the insurance, terms and conditions, and liability I'm still holding Kingsway responsible for all the damage. According to the highway traffic act, Kingsway movers would be responsible if they were negligent. At this point I maintain they are responsible due to negligence because they subcontracted my delivery to an extremely disreputable company with a D rating on the Better Business Bureau and 90 complaints in three years. As a consumer I believe I have a reasonable expectation that my goods will be delivered by the company that I contract, and if they decide to subcontract that move, they should do so with a company which of similar reputation and standing, to subcontract to such a disreputable company is negligent. I have filed a similar complaint against Canadian Moving Systems as advised by several counselors with the Better Business Bureau.I am more than happy to share any information I have, and offer any advice I may have, and more than happy to share my information about filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. A number of other frustrated and unhappy Kingsway customers have contacted me and we are also in communication in regards to our common interests. If you would like any additional information please contact me. Things I have learned from this move. Ask a lot of questions, this moving company is not going to be 100% forthright and upfront with you about the hidden fees, liabilities etc. ask if they are going to subcontract your move and to whom. Demand to be present when they weigh your goods. And if you have the option of using any other moving company, do it. Saving a little bit of money is not worth the amount of headaches, damage, poor treatment, and aggravation that you will have to go through if you book through Kingsway.  Sent from my iPad.

My partner and I moved in August. The company we booked with turned out to be an agent (this was not disclosed during booking) and we ended up moving with Kingsway Van Lines. I have contacted the initial company, Canadian Moving Systems, repeatedly over 2 weeks through phone and email but have had no response. After several attempts, I heard back from Kingsway and voiced my concerns. Our shipment weighed in at double the correct weight and was not reweighed.  When I contacted Kingsway about the obvious mistake/inaccuracy of the weigh in I was blamed. The agent implied that I was lying and cited items that would easily make up that weight.. items that were not in my shipment! I have yet to be given a copy of the scale receipt and my concerns were not taken seriously. My final total was near double my estimate. I do not know where my shipment was weighed but I was not able to have it reweighed and the driver had no scale ticket to show me. The GM assured me she would send me a copy once the driver arrived back in Ontario, however the driver clearly told me that he had no record of the weigh in. Along with these obvious issues several pieces of my furniture were badly damaged. Some of the damage would be impossible without excessive or unnecessary force used, and should not have been possible given that the pieces were 'securely wrapped' by the company. I bought a mattress protecter from them directly for superior protection, yet somehow it was ripped through and my mattress stained. During unloading I witnessed one mover roughly knock two boxes marked 'fragile'  off the top of a tall pile (falling a good 5.5 ft) and leave them on the ground while the movers walked around them for several trips. I am extremely disappointed in both the service provided by Kingsway as well as the customer service, as no effort has been made to resolve my issues and instead I have been met with hostility and condescension. Please take the poor reviews very seriously and stay away from this company. I wish I had known that I would be moving with this company, as I would never have booked. If you care about your belongings, time, and your wallet please heed the warning and look elsewhere.    .

Not what we were expecting at all.

As most people do, we researched prices versus reviews on the internet before choosing a moving company. We narrowed the list down to Kingsway. The original quote was for moving a 2 bedroom apartment and was around $1500. The main question I asked was "Do you subcontract?". The answer was a definite NO. The pickup was delayed from Saturday morning to Sunday evening at 11:30. They left the apartment at 3:00 AM Monday morning. The excuse from the moving company was mechanical failures. The movers complained constantly that our boxes were too heavy and that they had been working since 3 AM Sunday morning. They also told us that they were not Kingsway and the problem with the delay was due to over booking. Our belongings were pushed and shoved into the back of the truck leaving barely enough room to close the doors. We got a call on Thursday stating that our belongings would be delivered Friday late or Saturday early. I got a call Friday stating that there was a delay due to mechanical failure and that my belongings would arrive late Saturday evening. The truck arrived Saturday around 3 PM. I was alone that day and was asked by the movers to unwrap the blackets so that they could unload faster. I was unable to check off the items, so I'm still not sure if anything is missing. Boxes were crushed, wet and dirty. The delivery company was not Kingsway and according to them, the delays were due to overbooking. My new upright freezer was scratched dented and creased on five of six sides but since they pay out 20 cents per pound, it's not worth filling out the paper work. You have ten days from delivery to file a claim even though today on the 12th day, I still have unpacked boxes. The final price was $3,245.53 which includes a 3% surcharge for using a credit card.

Thank u.

I am extremely happy with these guys they have helped me move twice and both times have run smoothly and the guys have been really clear on communication and times, Packing up was quick and unobtrusive and everything was supremely well packed up - even each bottle of wine was individually wrapped. The price was not the cheapest (wouldn't trust the cheaper companies) and not the most expensive, just reassuringly in the middle.

Long-distance move from Ontario to Alberta

Stay far from kingsway van lines-Terrible Movers.

Last July,  I searched for a moving company to ship my items from Ontario to Alberta. I moved the same items a year before, and the weight was nearly 1,100 Ib. I was approached by  Kingsway Van Lines  through a moving the agency (Move it.ca). Three other companies also offered the move for similar rate. I decided to go with Kingsway,  as they had more flexible pick up dates. It was the worst decision I ever made in my life !!.  Over the past 25 years or so, I have been moving across Canada and this was the worst move I ever had. I do not recommend Kingsway Van Lines to any person. They should be banned to offer moving service to the public.        The dilemma is summarized as follow;     - Kingsway provided an estimate (1000 Ib) by phone followed by a confirmation E-mail.       - My shipment was loaded and all items were labelled in a. packing list (with no Company logo or address).   - Kingsway stores the shipment at their warehouse in Toronto and evaluate its content very carefully.     - They  provided estimated delivery date (5-10 days) and sent me a fake scaling ticket showing double the actual weight (2,340 Ib).     - I requested to re-scale the shipment. They refused  and pretended they are busy and no time for that.       - They abuse the situation and bargain the weight. The search the shipment very carefully and base their fees  accordingly.   - It took me about 10 weeks to settle the matter and deliver the shipment to my destination.  Unfortunately by that time I purchased most of the furniture I shipped !! and the losses was significant     - The shipment was delivered with missing items and damaged content. Kingsway claimed that they are not responsible for damages or losses.   Based on my experience with Kingsway, I advise everyone not to trust this mover by any mean. Their service is based on lies, frauds, and unethical attitude.
