My husband and I decided to hire Interstate Moving & Relocation Group for our move last week. We had pleasure of having Tony, Ed, Melvin and Ryan as my movers, and these guys absolutely skillful and knew what they were doing. They were careful, courteous, and professional. For example, they took extra care with some of our more fragile furniture pieces and regularly asked for our. It was clear that they cared about what they were doing and that these guys are committed to providing an excellent service.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $6300

I wish I had listened to the 1 star reviews. I couldn’t fathom such an awful experience.

INTERSTATE IS A BROKER. They are not a moving company. East coast to west coast move they charge a $1200 fee to book logistics. They do not disclose until after you put your initial deposit down.

Their sales team is kind, don’t be fooled. Everything went downhill after I signed a contract.

Movers showed up without a warning upon pick up. 28 days later and still no delivery.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3600

The moving company came later than was promised so it too late for me to cancel and get my deposit back. I was quoted by weight and the moving company charged me cu ft. I was charged almost 50% more for the move. I was told my things would be delivered in 7-10 days, but it has been almost 2 weeks and my things still have not been delivered. Customer Service repeatedly said they would research the mistake and call me back. They never returned any of my phone calls, instead they expired the link they sent to me with the details of the quote.

THIS COMPANY IS NOT ETHICAL!! STAY SAFE AND DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $2700

1. They are brokers, not movers. Your deposit is non-refundable. They only referyou to movers.

2. Movers demand $7,000 more than their quote. No refund.

It’s your fault, not their estimators.

3. They make things up. They Told a story about truck leaving day of loading- gave a 3 day window for delivery. Movers said 15 days. They have no access to movers schedule.

4 Said credit card good for all payments except final one. Movers want certified check or cash at pick up.

They take your money and take no responsibility for creating a mess. Blame you or the US gov’t. No kidding.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $11500

4 movers came this morning and made short work of packing up our apartment. Kevin, team lead took the time to talk me through the whole process and the paperwork thoroughly which I really appreciated. The guys were all nice and courteous, they even got my dog to warm up to them quickly even though she's usually protective, she ended up being a big ham and making them all pet her throughout the day, to which they kindly obliged. All of our furniture was wrapped and packed carefully.

In summary, I will never ever use a moving company due to my experience with IMRG. They lied just about everything regarding the move.

First they said the move is weight based, and couple of days before the actual move I received a call to review my final list and I found that it is cubic feet based. They got me two movers and both affirmed that it is cubic feet based. Michael, who was with me on the phone during making the estimate, explained in great details about how the weight based move goes, that I will get ticket of truck weight before they come to me and I can even follow them after loading to weighing station to get new weight and my move is the difference....

Second about the estimate itself. Michael again, he was "over estimating" my move for every item to make sure I get no surprises, and he assured me many times that if for anything, my price will go down. So in the end, the estimate was 1600cubic feet. when the first mover case he said 2000cubic feet which I refused top sign on and they left. The second mover Falcon moving came next day estimated my move 2200cubic feet and could go to 2400. I strongly refused and with IMRG help the mover said he will bill me for 2000cubic feet. But when the load was done, he wanted me to sign on 2800 cubic feet (another bad review for this unprofessional unethical company will come later on).

Please note that, I have sold my super oversized formal living set (3-seat sofa, 2-seat loveseat, lounge chaise, chair with ottoman, occasional coffee table, sofa table and two end tables). and that set was part of the estimate. Also during the move due to falcon guy saying he won't load past the 2200 line, I had to drop my patio set (2 seat loveseat, two chairs and table). Also this was part of the original estimate. I had to do that while he was yelling and cursing about taking this job.

Third, After first mover left, IMRG called me to give me additional $500 discount when they come next day and I agreed to that, but when new movers came, they said these $500 came from old movers and they failed to let me know in time.

I also asked the IMRG personnel during the move to let me speak with Michael the original person did the estimate for me but she said she cannot as the person moved to another "victim" I guess.

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $7719

I moved from Maryland to California recently. We talked with several moving companies and searched on web about rating of these companies. We found IMRG has a good rating and the price was relatively low. We signed contract with them. After signing, we found IMRG is a broker company. We did not cancel the contract, as hoped IMRG could do a good job. Then our nightmare stated.

What I need moved is two bedrooms, living room, dining room and study room, pulsing a treadmill and a exercise bike . There are total 180 pieces, including 121 boxes. Most boxes are the small and the media box from Home Depot. The estimate from IMRG was 10700 pl. and 1533 cubic feet. Before the mover come, I measured and weighted each item to be move. The total weight is little 9800 pl. and volume 1276 cubic feet. Both are below the estimations from IMRG.

In the contract, it states that “If you add items at pick-up or if the items are a different volume and/or weight from what estimated on this agreement: the mover has to provide you with a revised estimate. Contact IMGR office, so that we may assist you with any reversion”.

The kay point is how and who could decide there are difference volume and/or weight. The first mover came, and said it was 17000 pl., even had not put the hand on any items. I called IMRG, but no one answer the phone. The second mover came. They said it was 2200 cubic feet, or weight by scale. I called IMRG, the lady on the phone said as both movers said you have more stuff than what estimated, and mover should be right. As everything was packed, and I could not wait more, I took the scale option. Based on the scale, when they come truck weight is 11680 lb., and after loaded 26480 lb. At the delivery, Penske truck was used. It is same 26 ft box truck. The volume of it is 1700 cubic feet, the maximum load is 10000 pl, and GVW is 26000 pl. Comparing with Penske truck, the move’s truck weight is 4300 pl. less. But the moving load is 5000 pl. more than I weighted. Also, at the delivery, the Penske truck only has two third was filled. It means that total volume of the load was about 1200 cubic feet.

The moving itself was horrible. Both are small companies. They hired day labor for moving. Someone did not have the experience as the mover. There were a lot of damages on the furniture, scratches on the hardwood floor and holes on the carpet. The mover claimed their truck can load 2200 cubic feet. But, finally there were more than ten items, including mattress and treadmill, unable to load as the truck was full. The worst thing was that they hired day labor on Craigslist at the delivery. In the middle of unloading, one helper suddenly left. Before the mover leaving, we found that the cash in kitchen draw was disappeared. Police came, but the mover could not provide any information about the helper.

IMRG is a broker. They take the commission and find a moving company for me. In my case, both movers are from tiny company. When they come, they can claim whatever the weight and the volume are, and IMRG has no way to correct them. At the same time, I got everything packed, and I could not wait forever. I had no other way, but to accepted mover’s price and signed contract with them.

Finally, I paid three thousand dollar more than the contract with IMRG for the moving. There are items left in my old house that worth another three thousand. It does not include the money disappeared in the moving.

Booked a cross-country move with IMRG after calling at least a dozen companies and comparing/contrasting. Was given 2 days (day 1 and day 2) during which pick up was suppose to occur. Was told by the salesperson that movers will call me one day before to give me advanced notice of their time of arrival. Couple days before, someone from their quality assurance department told me that the pickup wouldn't occur on day 1, but rather day 2 or another time this week b/c it was end of month and they were supposed to be busy. On day 1, movers call me saying they were on their way and would show up in 30 mins. I was like what? someone told me you'd come on day 2 or another day that week and nobody called me in advance to let me know, as promised. Spent couple days trying to call and deal with this unprofessional and inept company; but they ended up never showing up and even dared to keep my security deposit event though it was their fault. Ended up having to book someone else last minute at twice the price. Never received an apology or a refund, instead was blamed for their miscommunication and professionalism. Do NOT get fooled by their sales tactics or low prices - you get what you pay for. Save the headache and hire someone else.

Even though I'm older, I'm not afraid of hard work and moving some furniture and lugging boxes. I draw the line with my big heavy furniture and was delighted to find Interstate Moving & Relocation. Three young men Chris, Cameron and Gabe showed up on time, were very polite and knew how to take care of my furniture. They worked efficiently and quickly and had the job done in 2.5 hours. I'm very pleased with this company and the quality of professional service.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2900

The sales person that I spoke with led me to believe that my items would arrive the same day or worst case the following day as my move was less than 200 miles. He never once mentioned that DOT law states an out of state move can take 21 to 30 days to receive shipment. Luckily the driver who was going to be 3 hours late advised me of this before He arrived. He stated I would need to pay $700.00 more for “expedited service”. When I called to cancel they refused to give my deposit back stating I signed the contract. The only solution they offered was to get my things within 5 days but couldn’t say for sure when. As if I would believe that when the carrier is insisting that is not possible. What a horrid experience with a so called reputable company.

I just wanted to write and say a Big Thank you to the guys who moved us last week from OK to OH. We had packed our belongings beforehand but plenty of furniture needed flat packing.Every single item has arrived un-scratched !!! The company was very accommodating as we had to change the arrival time for the removal team.Very professional and they kept moving all through. I really valued the service and the move was great. Interstate Moving & Relocation Group highly appreciated.
