Booked my move 2 months in advance with Keith at Imperial with a deposit of $720 and all the calls to that number went unanswered after the 48-hour deposit refund window. A week before my move I tried to confirm my 3-day moving window and they said they can't confirm the dates as it depends on the truck's availability. I kept calling every single day for 5 days to confirm my moving dates. Somebody from quality assurance called me to confirm my inventory and without going through the list, simply asked me to extra $1000 extra upfront assuming that my stuff won't fit in the space allocated. When I refused he very rudely yelled "looks like you like your dollars too much" and abruptly ended the call.

One day prior to my scheduled move date they said CANNOT move on the date(April 30) and they gave me a date 3 days away (May 2). Basically, after my lease ending date. I spoke to an extremely rude man called Jack who was yelling at me on the phone and interrupting me constantly and told me that I should call my apartment leasing company

and change my moving dates ( and pay extra )because I live in a high-rise and said condescendingly that no unit in a high-rise gets rented that quickly (which makes no sense). I had to book another moving company one day before my move and I LOST THE DEPOSIT I paid to this scam of a company. 0/5. There are a lot of other companies out there, please contact them.

Move size: Studio Service cost: $2200

Go somewhere else - they gave me a "guaranteed" quote in the beginning but when the movers came to pack my items, they went up nearly $2000 more - it was as if I never had a conversation. When I called to inquire, they were very rude and hung up on me. When I asked to speak to a supervisor - they said they couldn't call their supervisor - they would have to email them and if they wanted to talk to me, they would call me. Ridiculous - I never heard from anyone - I called back 3 more times. My items arrived a week later than they told me they would - I could go on and on - this company is TERRIBLE!

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $4000

These one star reviews are completely true. These are brokers and the estimates are misleading. We were quoted at $1897.16 and had to put a down payment of $594 to secure the quote. What they dont tell you is that the $594 is actually the brokers fee, which is an additional fee on top of your quote. Another thing they dont tell you is that the $1897.16 quote is for pickup only which is due at the time of pickup. It does not include your delivery charges (another $1990.04). They also want 10% to 15% gratuity so you're paying gratuity, to the people picking up and to the people delivering. So, at the time of pickup, our total charge was $2691.16 (brokers fee, gratuity, pickup cost) for 8 items (queen mattress/box springs), 55" tv, small tv stand, rug, small desk, desk chair and punching bag). We were also told that our load will be arriving the next day(Saturday) or at the latest the following day(Sunday) which did not happen. We left GA right after work on a Friday night, to make it to NY to receive our furniture but when nothing arrived, we called the company and was told that the load will be delivering any day now. Really? Long story short, we ended up staying with family in NJ for 10 days till our furniture arrived. Please, please do not ignore these reviews. Ask a lot of questions when getting your quotes and do not let the movers load your furniture without reading the contract. Our total out of pocket was $4681.20, not the $1897.16 that we were quoted at. I strongly do not recommend this moving company to anyone so please take your time looking and ask a lot of questions cause this sure was a lesson learn.

I am writing this only to warn others. I lost $1,300 to these people. They pressure you to sign a contract right then and there if you want their special discounted price, promising that you can cancel within 3 days. On the contract the fine print actually says you only have 2 days and even if you cancel within 2 days, you are on the hook for 10%. Since I did not do my due diligence (that is on me) within the cancellation time frame, I lost my deposit. That is as far as I got with this company. Also, I would take a careful look at those five stars and you will see a pattern emerge.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3838

I suggest you do NOT use this company for these reasons:

1) The person you first contact lowballs the moving cost and gets a deposit and makes you feel like he's your friend;

2) Within a week of your move, a QA guy calls you and now you're paying close to a thousand dollars more the move;

3) Day of the move, the movers come and take pics of everything and submit to the office. Now the cost goes up an additional one-thousand to two-more dollars.

Most importantly, they refuse to refund any money under any circumstance or to cancel your contract.

I am extremely unsatisfied and disappointed with their entire process and professionalism. As far as I am concerned, they are legalized scammers!

This company is a scam with fake 5-star reviews on Google; you can tell they’re fake because the people who left them have only left one review, and they did so after moving, which is BS. All the 1-star reviews come from real people who’ve left multiple reviews for other companies.

These people send a salesperson to your home who says, “we’re just calculating the charge for your large furniture today, and an estimate for boxes will be provided per room,” but it never happens. Then they collect the deposit and don’t give you any updates (even if you call daily asking) until right before your move, and then when you mention you have boxes (like literally anyone who needs to move) they triple your quote, ask for another deposit, and then get super rude because they know you’re stuck with them.

We’re two days away from our move and they still won’t tell us when someone will actually show up to get our stuff, so we’re canceling, filing a claim in court for the deposit if they don’t return it, and I’d like to warn every family out there who’s trying to move to stay away from this company because they’ll ruin it for you. There’s a reason this place has 65 filed complaints in just the last 12 months on the Better Business Bureau.

Think about it: their fake Google rating is 4.2 stars, but on BBB, they’re rated with 1.8 stars, which is too high in my opinion. These people are quite literally stealing from families who are just trying to move, and if you call their “President,” who’s listed on the BBB site, he pretends like he has no idea what “Imperial Freight Lines” is.

This company is a scam! I spoke with the sales rep who lied to me and told us that we would be notified of the exact pick up date for our move a few days before our move. When the few days before our move arrived, they told us the sales rep was incorrect and we would not be notified of our exact pick up date until the night before. Be very careful! The contract says that whatever the sales rep says to you is void after you sign! So the sales rep can lie to you! We ended up loosing our deposit and having to use a different company.

Imperial Transport is not actually the transportation company, which was not communicated to me at all. They also use deceitful tactics to provide “better” (inaccurate) quotes. I called for a quote and spoke with one of their employees, providing a full detailed account of my inventory that would need to be moved. I explained I had a 3 bedroom house I was moving and advised them the sizes of furniture as well as the number of boxes and sizes of them that would need to be moved. They provided a quote of roughly $2,500, required a $1,100 deposit to “secure” the estimate, and connected me with a moving company (which, once again, was never told to me wasn’t them). They said I didn’t have a large inventory for their lowest estimate option and would still have room for more belongings if needed.

On the day of my move, the moving company came and said the $2,500 was inaccurate, and the $2,500 quote turned into $5,000. I was in a position where I needed to move that day and was left without options. I called Imperial Transport regarding the quote, and it was told to me the quote was for about 280 square feet of storage (aka the size of a studio apartment). This was grossly inaccurate as I told them in my first call that it was a 3 bedroom home. I referred back to the estimate that was emailed to me, which accurately listed all my belongings in the inventory section, but they had put the square footage as equivalent to a studio apartment. When I stated this on the phone call on the day of the move, the person I spoke to was abrupt and rude and ultimately told me that the 280 square footage was what they quoted me for, and if that’s the dollar amount I wanted, then I could just tell the moving company to only transport 280 square feet of my belongings.

If I had been given an accurate estimate and reasonable expectation up front for $5,000, this wouldn’t have been an issue. Instead, I was mislead and misquoted in a way that can only seem to be intentional in order for them to secure my deposit and leave me with my hands tied. I would not recommend this company to anyone as they use unethical tactics and have poor customer service when confronted on it.

Please I beg anybody reading this I am not just a disgruntled customer. Please do your research. If you look at this company you’ll find they have been under investigation from numerous law-enforcement agencies. They are a straight up scam and will take advantage of you in every way possible. If you have done Business with them and stop payment and change your account information as you are vulnerable to there are unscrupulous ways of business. I doubt will make it on here but if it does please beware. they will give you a low price for a quote and when the truck shows up I promise it will be a much higher price and you will be helpless at that point. Just do your research please.
