We recently moved from Kansas City to Connecticut and had a great experience with Illinois Movers Inc. Their team was professional, friendly, and handled the entire moving process very smoothly. They packed our belongings carefully and made sure everything was secured properly for the long-distance trip.

The movers worked efficiently and kept us updated during the move. All of our items arrived safely in Connecticut without any issues. We really appreciated their hard work and dedication. We would definitely recommend Illinois Movers Inc to anyone looking for a dependable moving company for a long-distance move. ??

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $5850

My entire experience with them has been good. I did a move out of New York City and then used their service and then had them move stuff to New Jersey. The movers were professional they were careful and I had absolutely no complaints. I had gotten quotes from several companies for my move and theirs was not the cheapest, but it was definitely worth it to pay a bit more- and it was not all that much more expensive. On the day I moved out of New York City, I noticed that they wrapped absolutely everything so that there was going to be no potential damage. There were some movers later on that day from another company moving a different apartment and I felt sorry for that individual because their stuff was not wrapped nearly as as well as mine had been.

So so good! They moved me in and out super seamlessly and had everything wrapped up and done within 2 hours (probably less). They were also very nice and gentle with my stuff, had no issues with any breakage etc. Everything was clean and organized properly. The one thing to mention is that they don't see things up like drilling into the wall, etc., but they did assemble my couch and bed which was quick and made my move hassle-free. Overall, I couldn't recommend them enough!

On the day of my move out, the mover in charge came into my apartment and immediately said "you need more space this will not fit". He said for an extra $1,000-$2,000 he could maybe fit everything. I told him that I sent everything over and the exact dimensions and this is what I budgeted for so I needed to try and make it fit. He then told me I had to sign all of the paperwork before his guys would work and he refused to touch a thing before I signed everything. I didn't have a choice so I signed. He came back to me after loading some of the bigger items and said "we are out of room so we cannot take anymore without paying for more space”. I told him that several items on my list were in my personal pickup truck so I was actually asking to ship significantly less than what was quoted and I wanted him to load more. He then became augmentative and told me my boxes were bigger and I showed him they were the exact dimensions and were written on the box exactly what was on my quote. He then loaded some of the boxes and came back and said they were done moving and out of space. I told him I had quoted 25 boxes and needed him to load more. He then loaded a few more, then came back in a very bad mood and said he would refuse to load anymore. I told him I'd like to speak with his manager and after calling his manager about 10 times he finally answered and they spoke in Spanish on speaker phone (I don't speak Spanish so I didn't understand the conversation) and he told me his manager told him he couldn't load any more. I asked for his manager's number and after several attempts we spoke on the phone and the manager then told him to load some more items. They loaded a few more items and said they were done, at this point it was still significantly less than what I was quoted. I then told them again I was moving across the country with no other options and I needed them to load more items that were on my quote and they refused. They then started becoming very argumentative and one of the movers began smiling, making lots of eye contact, singing, yelling, and walking around my apartment in an intimidating fashion and another one of the movers who was covered in sweat laid on my couch (which I was in the process of selling) and put his shoes on it. I then called the manager again and he threatened me to stop asking for items and that I was pushing my luck with him as if he was going to cancel my service if I said another word. I walked outside and two of the movers were in the truck honking the horn just to be obnoxious in the middle of my neighborhood at dinner time, while the other handed me a paper to sign and asked to take a picture of my credit card and ID which I handed him. I then tried to help the situation and be a considerate person because I thought maybe they were just in a bad mood from working in the heat so I handed him a $100 tip, which he took and walked away without so much of a word and he never said thank you. I should have never tipped because the service was so bad but I was trying to be sympathetic and I got nothing but disrespect in return. He gave me no paperwork and no proof that he was in my apartment and absolutely no estimate on when my belongings might show up.

I emailed and phoned the movers multiple times of the next 20+ days to try and get some sort of estimate on when I would get my belongings. The day before I was supposed to receive my stuff I called the dispatcher and he told me he lost contact with the driver for more than four hours and had no idea where he was. I then received a call from the driver several hours later and he told me he broke down in Kansas and was going to need another day to give me my stuff. He then told me he would be at my place a 5pm on Saturday. 5pm came and gone and at 6pm I called him with no answer. He then called me at 6:45pm and told me he was late because he had to take a nap and he needed to find local help because he was sent to Texas by himself (I believe he said he found them on Craigslist so unsure how insurance for them worked). After 24 days I finally received my stuff and I felt some relief. The driver then came up to my apartment and told me I had to pay $250 cash or he would leave my items on the curb, which Oscar in Dispatch confirmed. I then went to the ATM to get the money out and came back to see all of my belongings on the street in downtown Dallas. I then gave the money over and they started loading items. The movers left several moving blankets on items when they left, one of the movers washed his head and face in my kitchen sink and covered my kitchen floor in sweaty water, the driver forgot his tools so he didn't put anything back together. All of the boxes were caved in, I have 15 broken cups, my peloton wheel is bent, my trash can is caved in, one of the pieces holding my bed together is bent, multiple screws are missing screws from furniture, and my TV stand is damaged.
