Homesafe Transit

I was searching on-line for a company to move my daughter from VA to Fl. Almost immediately a call came from Molly Carmack who said she was with Homesafe Transit. I asked her if she was a broker as I wanted a company that would go the whole distance. She said she was not a broker and Homesafe Transit would do the whole job. I also told her my daughter was recovering from a very serious accident and did not need to be put under any more stress. She said she understood and promised this would be an unstressful move. Well, she LIED. It was an extremely stressful move and still not completed. We had to keep calling Homesafe Transit several times to find out when the movers would pick up the items and to get info about the next payment. Finally at pickup date, a different mover showed up confused about the items to move and boxes required

and informed us that the second payment had to be made out to that company (not Homesafe Transit) and they would now have to piggy-back the move with another move and deliver the items way too early which was absolutely not acceptable. They then said they would have to unload and store the items and now the delivery could be weeks too late (also unacceptable). We are still trying to reach the movers but they do not respond to calls. Homesafe Transit is a BROKER and only cares about getting their SIGN-ON FEE. If you get a call from someone named MOLLY CARMACK, HANG UP!! Save yourself some unwanted STRESS!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3300

BEWARE! This company is not what what they say they are and does not offer what they tell you. The negative reviews I have read (after I already paid) are spot on. Shame on me for not reading until after the fact. They are a broker that will charge you a large fraction of the entire move costs. I paid over $700 just in their fee. Then 1 day before the actual move, that tried to charge me another $700. When the trucking company arrived, they charged me a whopping $1500 ADDITIONAL. Do yourself a favor and take my recommendation to stay far away from these guys. If you want, send me a message and I’ll tell you for free who to use. Seriously. These guys should not be in business. Oh, the biggest thing is I never received my stuff. So, yea you have that too. My life belongings are gone. Will certainly be having my Attorneys get involved.. This company disappeared on me. The customer service person literally told me it’s my problem and I need to reach out to the trucking company directly. That’s BS when I paid Homesafe. They are the ones responsible.

So I was getting prices on moves out to San Diego because I was out doing a working interview for 5 days and needed to secure something if I got the job and decided to take it because they would want me out there as soon as possible. So, I took a call from Nick at Homesafe Transit and explained to him my situation. I made it very clear that I would need to be able to get a refund on my deposit if I didn't get the job and he assured me that all I was doing was locking in the current price and if I needed to I would be able to cancel as long as I didn't cancel last minute. I told him I'd know within the week if I was going to go forward with the move. Fast forward a week and I have decided not to take the job in San Diego due to cost of living. I shoot over an email to Nick and Reggie, my "customer service" representative and received no reply for a couple of days. I then email everyone on the list saying I'm not going to be moving, I want my deposit refunded. I received a reply that said my window for a refund had closed but I was welcome to apply the deposit for a move in the next year. 1st, I never would have made a deposit had I known there was a "window" because I wouldn't have even known whether I was actually going to be moving within that timeframe. 2nd, you think I'm going to call on you again in the next year if you've already played me once? The mistake I made was not looking up their reviews first before I paid the deposit. When it comes time to move I'll find a local company that will come and look first to give me a full quote.

This company is the WORST I have ever dealt with. Everything was great when they were taking my money, but after that they were very unprofessional. I got a thousand dollar refund from their manager. Well that manager was fired and of course I didn't get my refund. The moving company they put on my move was even worse. I am missing items, I have lots of damaged items. M y stainless fridge is ruined, my 65" TV is ruined, my expensive mattress is ripped. I should have looked at reviews before hiring this sham of a company. I signed a documents saying I owed the company $2,300 when they delivered my items to NC. Well when they got here I had to pay another $4,500 or they weren't delivering my stuff. I looked this up online, and this is listed as the #1 scam these companies pull. Pretty much hold your stuff hostage. This was THE WORSTE COMPANY I HAVE EVER WORKED WITH. Do yourself a favor and don't use this so called company

Avoid this company at all costs. I had the same terrible experience as many other reviews. A very responsive and friendly representative will reach out to you at the beginning, but as soon as they receive your deposits, they will stop responding to you. They may pretend that they are not a broker and assure you that they have their own "direct" van lines, but the actual movers will arrive and charge you much more than Homesafe's binding estimate stated, even though you may bring less stuff than originally planned.

Besides this, they also lied about their services on multiple occasions. James Earl, the associate I originally spoke to assured me that they are not brokers and that we would have our belongings within the first week of June since I began the moving process so early. Our binding estimate also included a $700 “student discount” which we never received credit for. We were told that our belongings could be held for up to a month at the destination in storage, but this was also an empty promise. When the real movers arrived, they had no idea that we had even paid Homesafe Transit our deposits.

In case all of that isn't bad enough, I recently discovered that the owner of the company was previously busted a few years ago for running an investment scam while serving 3 years felony probation for aggravated assault. He seems to jump from one scam to another. This is a scam company run by vile people. Everything this company does IS illegal and we are planning on taking all possible legal actions towards them. We were lucky to have paid our deposit on a credit card so we were able to open a credit dispute and won due to our heaps of proof towards their FMCSA violations. Save yourself some time and find a legitimate company.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $6250

Unfortunately after months of trying to have things handled with this company and the one they outsourced for the actual move, Move Pro llc in California, we have been nothing but disappointed. The first person I spoke with at home safe told me our things could be stored in a walk in storage facility near our temporary location while we waited to move- about 150-200$ she quoted me at, I have this in writing and on voicemail. When it actually came time to do the move, they told me this was never an option once my things where already in transit, it cost double the price to store and it was my problem now to discuss with Move pro as they “where not involved anymore”. Their very “trusted partners” Move pro then did not answer our calls or call us back for weeks on end, they lost and damaged many items and will not work with us on a sufficient refund as they said I agreed to waive the insurance. I did not agree to it and when asked for proof, they sent me a document that I didn’t even sign somebody else signed on “my behalf” (the signature is not my name). Save yourself thousands and many hours of stress pick literally any other company for moving.

My items were picked up June 25, supposed to be delivered on July 14th. Here I am on September 12 without my items and no clear answer as to when I will receive them. Homesafe Transit is not answering my attempted calls on the customer service line. The carrier keeps telling me he’ll deliver my things in 2 weeks, but keeps pushing back and telling me the same thing every time I ask. What a headache. I just want my stuff and believe I should be compensated for the challenges this has cost me.

Homesafe Transit agents need to let people know they are a BROKER and your property will likely transfered several times before you get it. You do not have a SAY on your final move date. There are 2nd & 3rd party to handle your property and at the end of the transition you can or will owe more money. How I kept my shipment tight...I changed my mind so I took unimportant stuff off the bill of lading. Also...since the driver asked about a tip. I chose not too because they caused me to move a solid day early and they arrived 1 and a half hour late. I packed my own stuff too. Everything...since charges are ala carte. In Florida... final destination and delivery day...the driver demanded payment before unloading truck. Yes it is very fine writing in the contract. I'm still stressed because my property was smashed caused by loading and unloading and read loading multiple times. Okay and be smart to down load the contract from Homesafe because once your property is picked up... the email attachment will dis appear which means 1st pick up day is the end of HS agreement and going forward you will be dealing with 2nd party.
