Long-distance move from Michigan to Texas

We stuck with them, our mistake

Our original shipping estimate was one price, and we called several times trying to see what the new estimate might be, Eric was always busy, then he calls us the week before we move, and with the add on, jacks the price up over over a grand, he was always busy when we called. We never have shipped that much had we know before had, and Eric had plenty of to time to call us.

Use at Your Peril!

I wish I had read the BBB comments prior to contracting with Homesafe Transit. Only a single customer complaint has been satisfied and that after the BBB lowered the companies rating to an ‘F”. Please note that all other complaints have been blown off by the company. This complaint reports further poor business practices by Homesafe Transit.

A ‘Binding” contract was entered into for a carrier pack of house hold goods and shipping on 16 June 2021. The move was to be done between 5 and 10 July 2021. The company was to call with the carrier identity and actual date 72 hours in advance. After extensive efforts to reach the company they finally responded on July4th, well under the timeline. Eric, the customer service representative (note he had been named in previous complaints) said the company had not properly priced the contract and increased the price 39% from just under $13,000 to nearly $18.000. They stated this was due to the Homesafe Transit Sales Representative not putting in all the correct pricing. Additionally they added a new charge “Origin Destination Fee” of $1,000 to locate a moving company for the task after having previously assigned a carrier. I was intimidated into accepting these changes as we had sold our house and must be out on time, have closed on a new home nearly 2,000 miles away and have to be at work in the new location in a very short time. The trauma caused by the move that I believed was all in order might be cancelled, invoked considerable panic and frustration. Homesafe Transit doesn’t really care as they have worded their contract that they keep the money received, ($6,300), none of which goes to the moving company, however will credit it towards a future move. Their binding allows them to restructure the pricing if there are changes in the inventory or new services added. There were some minor inventory changes. The bulk of the increase was not resultant of inventory changes, but of poor contract writing by the company. Specifically writing a contract for a full pack by carrier and then not properly pricing for it, nor properly pricing for bulk items and not incorporating the Origin Destination Fee.

Company problems evidenced in this case demonstrate that Homesafe Transit does not properly train their sales rep (in the case of the sales rep associated with this contract was provided only four hours training and had only been there a few short weeks), does not incorporate any quality review of their proposed contracts for potential mistakes or oversights. Accepts no responsibility for not being in compliance of the contract or placing their customers in adverse situations. I have been in contact with the company and they will not respond to my proposals of resolution, return any calls. You should deal with this company at your peril. There are other moving brokers with a better sense of integrity. Make sure you review the BBB evaluation, I made a serious error in judgment by not reviewing the BBB information that was available.

HomeSafe contracted with Good Success to carry out the move. Good Success subcontracted with Rhema. When Good Success was contracted they did not state that they had subcontracted their contract. Rhema will state that they have the goods, but not state where it is located and all their delivery dates provided have not been met.

HomeSafe advertises that good will be delivered in 8 to 18 days. To date it has been 44 days with not delivery date provided.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!

This has been the worst experience for us ever. We have moved 5 times within the US so far and this has been the most awful experience ever.

We still have not received our stuff. It has been more than 3 weeks and we have paid $5000 already. We have no money left for anything.

We were quoted $3200 initially by someone named Michael and we were happy that it was so low, that we signed the initial deposit with $1370.. Then a day before the move, there was a quality call where the dispatch manager Eric quoted $4900 (because there was more stuff apparently - which we already provided to Michael).

We couldn't get our $1370 back so we had to proceed with $4900. Then the mover (Zano Moving and Storage) came and he showed an agreement of $5700. Honestly, I don't know what was happening here. It was the day of the move - we had to leave the state the next day - what could we do with our stuff. I showed the mover the agreement of $4900 and then we negotiated (which was another bad experience) and then he said $5400.

What could we do now? He said pay half now and pay the rest at the time of delivery - So we gave a check for $1870. He loaded all our stuff. He put down the delivery date as 7/25. We still have not received our stuff. Last week the mover (Zano Moving) called us and told us that the check bounced and was canceled. He even sent us a picture of the canceled check(crossed out). Told us we needed to pay $1900 initial payment and the rest at delivery. We were so stupid and trusting. So we did a money transfer of $1900. Then a couple of days later, the mover (Zano Moving) told us that his office mistakenly deposited the check and if thats the case, then there will be no balance at delivery.

So now we have paid $5000 to "Home safe Transit" and "Zano Moving and Storage". Our stuff is still not delivered. What is happening here - we have no idea.

This was all our fault for not looking at the reviews of "Home safe Transit" and getting reeled in with their low quotes in the beginning.

So now we are out $5000 and our stuff is not delievered. We are still sleeping on the floor with no stuff.

Dear Homesafe Transit -

Unless you will refund our money, please don't bother replying to this review. There is nothing you can say to make up for the fact that there are some smooth talking sales operators at Homesafe transit who reel you in with their low pricing quotes and then we are stuck and cheated!!

Our own fault for being so naive and stupid. Honestly, we believe in a true God who knows what we went through because of "HomeSafe Transit" and "Zano Moving and Storage". We pray that those who cheated/robbed us will know what it feels like and will never do so with anyone else again.

To anyone else reading this, please don't ever choose Homesafe Transit or Zano Moving and Storage for your own peace of mind!

Refund denied for move i cancelled

I was sold a contract by Brock (head) dispatcher.Brock promised me that if anything changed, I can cancel the move with a minimal cancellation fee. When I contacted them they denied my refund 0f $871.00. Total ripoff as they haven't done nothing and they get to keep my money. They said they will credit me for up to a year toward a new move date I will never use. Do not fall for their verbal lies.

Cons

Biggest mistake was not checking outside review sites & hiring this co. Brock & Eric were the biggest fast talking scammers. My initial quote given by Brock was the way he reeled me in. I gave him the items I had packed & wasn't packed. The invoice didn't have alot of the items listed but I figured it was listed under something else. I explained 2 Brock I wanted to send pics because I didn't want any surprise fees on moving day. He told me to send them & he would get back to me later that day. I didn't hear back from him so the nxt morning I called and he was to busy to speak with me. I ended up speaking to Customer service Ashley the that informed me the pic were received & will be reviewed. That never happened, I didn't hear back from them until I received a txt the day before my pickup saying they've been trying to reach me to go over my inventory & if I dont respond my moving date will be cancelled. I had already confirmed moving date with the movers. It was just to rush for them raise the fees & total cost of the move so their 2nd deposit that I was unaware of to get bigger. Once I gave the update I was charged almost double of the original cost. Every conversation was don't worry I would have enough space after this new update. Before the movers arrived another deposit for Homesafe, then I was told I needed plastic covers for all my mattresses & box springs, no boxes the size of a shoe box or smaller. I was never given this info. before hand. Their cost for boxes & plastic covers were expensive. I was going to home Depot but Eric said the drivers were on the way & they didn't show for hours. That was just to increase the cost again. When you try to reach Brock or Eric the one that did the inventory I was forwarded to Customer Service that is rude & just tell you your cost went up because your inventory increased. The Customer Service Reps. have no idea what was discussed all the say is what is scripted. I asked for a Mgr. not possible. The end result I paid almost 3x my initial quote. It was that or lose my deposit of 1490 & have my property moved to a warehouse & be sold. ****Beware***

Beware of Company- I do not recommend

Everything seemed great in the beginning until payment of $1289 was made. Cynthia appeared so wonderful and responsive. She assured me that all three payments can be made with the credit card I used for the deposit. I clarified and confirmed with her and she said it was ok. She even offered a cash discount but I explained that we only wanted to pay via credit card. My move is scheduled for Monday and its currently Friday. I have not received any calls. I called 1x yesterday and 3x today ( Cynthia's number). I e-mailed and no response. I spoke to a lady in customer service (Whitney.) who was border-line rude and assured me that they was no-one above her that I could speak to.She said I had to pay via cash, cashiers checkonMonday. I advised her that I was assured that I could pay by credit card during pick-up by Cynthia. She said all the people were gone and there was no one to speak to. Advised her to text/page and reach out to the owners of someone above . I will update if I hear from them.

I paid more than $1300 to CYNTHIA MORGAN at Homesafe Transit for my move. This is not a moving company, they take your money then send you to a moving company. CYNTHIA MORGAN quoted me $3800 for a move then when the movers arrived, they wouldn’t move anything unless I gave them $8,000 CASH! OK, let me give you all of my possessions as well as 8k in cash. Completely ghosted once they got my money

Absolute SCAM. I signed an agreement with Homesafe, but after some research I decided not to move forward. Since I notified Homesafe to cancel the day of my contract, I was within the 72 hour cancellation period and qualified for a refund. Homesafe ignored my request until after the 72 hour period was up, but I kept pushing them for a response and they finally sent me an agreement for a refund which I gladly signed. Candace (Customer Service) told me it would take 7-14 business days, but probably sooner. Well, we are sitting at 17 business days and nothing has happened, and my 3 follow ups have been completely ignored. The company records you acknowledging several things and even made me sign an agreement just to get a refund. It seems like they try to legally bind you to their terms so they can keep your deposit, and if you are offered a refund they will hold onto it for as long as they can. I've never encountered a company that is this unresponsive. They truly don't care about their customers AT ALL.

SCAM ARTISTS

They are literally the worst company we have ever done business with. We are reporting them to multiple places because they are scam artists. The sales rep promises you no additional fees and white glove service and you get exactly the opposite. They say what you want to hear to get your business and then the good customer service goes out the window. When they want your money they get back to you right away and call you and text, but when you need to discuss the logistics of your move no one gets back you. Cynthia was the sales rep and and then we spoke to Ashley, Candance, Cameron who all stated different things. They refused to let us speak to any mangers or supervisors. We asked to speak to Eric numerous times and they refused to let us speak to him. They said he was busy and he could not help us. WORST CUSTOMER SERIVCE! We had storage added on our quote, three days before the move the company called me and said they do not see storage. Then all of sudden they were scrambling to figure it out. We had to pay for it and they said they would reimburse us. They did not add storage to our quote. The sales rep stated it was free and then they acted as if they were doing us a favor by coordinating it for us. Ashley called her own colleague a liar and all the calls are recorded so this can be traced back because she stated storage was always included. We have proof it was not. We were charged a insane amount of money for sub par service. They wait until you have no choice but to use them because your move is in two days and then strong arm you into giving the more money. Our items were broken and we had missing boxes. We called to schedule our redelivery to our final destination and the customer service manger was horrendous. We were told Eric would take care of it and they refused to let us speak to him. They said it could take up to 30 days to schedule the redelivery. When I asked where it states that she said the contract, we reviewed the contract (which is really just a sales quote) on the phone together and it stated that no where. Then she said oh no the contract says 7 business days. She lied right to me on the phone and had no explanation as to why she was lying. We called them well in advance and never heard from them. We had to figure out redelivery ourselves. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this horrendous company. They are awful and have terrible customer service. They just want your money and do not care about you or your stuff. I was forced to give them one star, they should have negative stars.

Please Stay Away

This company takes your money and then leaves you to the wolves. I was ripped off for nearly $5,000.00 by Homesafe and their affiliate in New Jersey called Movement Pro Van Lines. Destroyed furniture, statues, etc. Filthy trucks. Use this organization and you will regret it forever. You can't pay by credit card, only cash or money order. If you could pay by credit card they would be out of business because every customer would be stopping payment due to their unethical, terrible business model. You've been warned, you're a bigger fool than I if you use Homesafe Transit.

The moving figure quoted was off by > 30%. When movers showed up and wanted more money, I was informed that the $700 deposit was nonrefundable. The furniture delivered was damaged. Movers did not wrap my dining room chairs. Any claim paid would be cents on the cost to repair the furniture. Did not offer enhanced insurance. Worst possible experience BEWARE!

We had a few small furniture items and about 40 large packing boxes, grill and patio set. That’s it. Victoria Torres in Sales quoted us $2180 to move us from southern AZ to Michigan. That quote included 2 packers to load and unload. Home safe never sent out an estimator. On moving day, the day before we had to vacate our sold home, one of the packers took a video of our items. We were them emailed a contract to sign immediately for $6,500 — more than 3 times their quote!!! What were we to do? We had no choice but to pay up. It’s now 7 days after they picked up and we still don’t have our shipment. Contract says they have up to 30 DAYS to deliver items traveling more than 2000 miles. Unbelievable. NO Communication from them on WHEN we can expect delivery. Customer service nonexistent. You can never get someone when you call. Stay as far away from this shifty moving company as you can. We are seeking legal action.

Run away. Don't be scammed.

I get a new job. Wife is pregnant expecting our 2nd. Everything is looking great then comes homesafe transit. I spoke with Cynthia who promised me a fully insured moving rate of 2700.00 with a top tier moving company(have the texts to prove it). This price was given after telling Cynthia I had a storage unit of 10x10 and this is the quote I needed. This is when Cynthia blasted me with messages asking for the deposit. She just needed a quick signature and the deposit and I would be set. No explaining of what it meant in the contract. I trusted Cynthia. She seemed nice. So here I am getting ready to move. Thinking how happy I am that this part is taken care of. Never received a call from the "QA" person that was supposed to confirm my move. I of course called because it was a day before my move and asked why I hadn't heard from anyone. If you want to talk to a rude and unprofessional company then this is the place to go. I was hung up on a couple times and by a very rude lady. I was then finally patched over to a "QA" guy. The QA guy was super arrogant and couldn't care less about my concerns. He told me there is a good chance that the price would be much higher because they quoted me on a storage half full. HALF FULL? He told me to send the texts that Cynthia had sent me(where she had lied to me just to get my deposit), and that he would get back in touch with me after review. Didn't hear anything of course. The moving day comes and the moving company was a day late. The day after the moving comes the moving company tells me it's going to be much more expensive(around 5600). Of course I couldn't do this. The movers told me I should get my deposit back. The movers even tried to get me to move my stuff outside of the contract with this scam company, but would only accept paypal or another cash app. Seemed super sketch. It still would have cost me close to 5000.00 anyway with the deposit I already paid. I called back and spoke with the QA guy and he told me to just e-mail customer service and they'll look into my situation I had with Cynthia. I also asked the QA guy if it's unethical with what they did and he said not at all. Unbelievable. A month later and I'm still trying to get my deposit back. Ruined what should have been a happy move experience with my wife and son to a new place and new job to a stress nightmare. Thanks homesafe!

Worst experience ever

I’ve had a lot of bad moving experiences but this was by far the worst. I first want to say Homesafe Transit sales dept is extremely dishonest. They intentionally undersized my load to meet a dollar amount then made me deal with it when the movers showed up. It ended up costing me double to get my stuff moved. They also led me to believe they have their own movers. They don’t. They hire 3rd party. They also said I would have my stuff picked up and dropped off in the same day. That also did not happen. I have lots of other complaints but I’ll end on this one, I didn’t not receive all of my stuff and a lot of my stuff that I did received was damaged. Extremely unprofessional. I seriously regret hiring them to move my stuff. Hopefully someone with a legal background can and will file a lawsuit against them and bring them to justice for scamming people like this.

Unprofessional movers

This company is a scam business. They Initially quoted a size of truck needed for the move, then tried to sell a bigger truck two days before the move. They deliberately underestimated the amount of furniture just to get signatures on a bogus contract and a $1900 deposit, then threatened us with exuberant $$ amounts if the contents would not fit in their estimated cubic foot allowance. Attorney, Police and BBB were notified.

Scam Business and Worst experience ever

Never ever do business with Home safe transit , this is a fraud merchant , in first call they will talk sweetly and once you confirm the move then they will show the true colors.

In phone they can give with lower amount quote and they will raise it to double or triple amount once they came to your place, by this time they will collect some deposit amount from you and they wont return the amount , even if you wont take the service, either you need to pay the double or triple amount which they are saying or you need to forget the initial amount which you paid over the phone .

They even wont pick your calls after you booked the move and don't respond to your emails.

Please please don't waste your time and money with these people .

Zero Stars

Absolutely horrible business practice. So much run around because everything goes through 17 different companies. I got NO notice or communication of any kind telling me when they would be picking up my belongings, I even asked the scheduler for a 4 hour window and he told me I would get a time 24 hours prior. I never did despite reaching out SEVERAL times and trying to call the "emergency" line. So I call on moving day to demand my money back so I can change my entire cross country moving plan and get a truck to do it myself, and they tell me a) if I cancel they keep my deposit, and b) why would I cancel when I'm on for pick up between 8 and 12 (it was 8:45). THEN I set up a "first available" delivery date and they say it might not be exactly that day.. okay, I figure they say that in case a truck gets delayed or something. No, I call a week before my estimated delivery date for details, only to find out my stuff never left its original state!!!!!! I am beyond angry and will be reporting to every regulatory agency possible. Save your money and move it yourself. Disgusting company.

Do NOT Use This Company!!!

Do not use these movers!!! They lie and miscommunicate and honestly don't really communicate at all. I have yet to receive my stuff and it has been two weeks since they were supposed to pick up and a little over a week and a half since they actually picked it up!

There are a ton of hidden fees that they do not disclose on the initial reservation. They only accept payment in weird ways that were not disclosed properly so I did not have the proper form of payment ready when they finally came to pick up my stuff (3 days late).

When you call them no one is helpful or professional. They call you from a bunch of different phone numbers and completely different people and it is not clear who your point person is at any point.

I asked all the right questions and planned my move perfectly and they have screwed me over. I'm sleeping on an air mattress as I start my new job this week. I don't have any of my kitchen items or work clothes and my cats have to still use their travel stuff. I'm spending extra money and time having to work around them just not sticking with the promised move that I set weeks ago!

I am so frustrated with this company and would not recommend them at all for any moving services. I do not trust them whatsoever and am honestly worried about my things because they won't tell me where it is or when they will get here (or in what condition)!

DO NOT MOVE WITH THEM!!!

BAD EXPERIENCE!!!

Not a good experience. Eric was original guy at broker (no longer there) and felt so confortable with him. Smooth. He underbid move to get contract. Then when Bay Area Express Movers came to pick up my things at storage, the guy said "Oh, this is way more than on the contract," and said it would be $900 more. I said I didn't have $900, and he said it's OK, you can pay that when they deliver, which would be after 3 weeks of storage at their facility. When my things arrived, was told it was $1,000, not $900!!! I said I didn't have another $100, if they had said $1,000 more, I would have had a money order for $1,000, not $900, but had been told $900. Long time on phone, back and forth, finally the Bay Area Express gal called the guy who quoted me the $900 and came back saying he made a mistake, should have been $1,000, but since he quoted that, $900 would be OK. This is their normal MO. So instead of $2,021, it was more like $3,000. If Eric had quoted $3,000, I would have found another company. So they underquote to get the contract and then the customer has to hassle with the mover to get it done. Common practice. And the condition of the things when they arrived - not good. Like they just throw everything in storage, pile stuff on top of stuff, not caring. Upside down boxes, ammonia leaked out, wardrobe boxes smashed down, sewing machine cover ruined, floor lamp broken. They don't care. The drivers didn't speak English and they were good guys, not their fault, but hard to communicate. NEVER use a broker, always deal directly with a moving company, Would not not not recomment Homesafe Transit and would never recommend using a broker. Ever!!!

REPORTED TO THE POLICE

Misleading and Deceptive.. REPORTED TO DOT and POLICE

This company cheated and lied to us too, these companies must be stopped. They were the first company we tried to use, there is a major fraud issue with moving companies out of Florida. If you have been a victim of Homesafe Transit please reach out to Ashley Moody the attorney generals office contact number (850) 414-3990. I would also highly recommend calling the police non-emergency line (561) 822-1900 and report the misleading and fradulet practices and file a police report. Get a copy of the police report so the lies are documented. Once you take these steps and the attorney general forwards your case you contact consumer services at (850) 410-3800. Lastly I would contact the DOT at 1-888-368-7238 and the consumer protection office at (561) 712-6600. We are currently in the process of getting our refund back and getting them investigated for fraud. There possibly could be a class action lawsuit. I paid them to locate a moving company near me… Nothing went according to plan. I called Homesafe for help. The CSR helped minimal. I requested to speak to a manager. As I was waiting to talk to management, they had their advertisement playing during hold time. **STRESS FREE** Not correct. I made countless call starting 03–28 to Homesafe, for assistance with no response until 4-20. **QUALITY** Not correct. No quality here, the customer service reps were rude, when I would asked to speak to management, they would be the manager. It was weeks of call before management responded finally with an email. When I would tell them I desperately needed their help, their words were… That was my problem contact the moving company.** SEAMLESS** Not correct. There was nothing seamless about this I had to do so much of the phone calls in the work, they made a few phone calls, but they did not try to find out what was wrong and why the delay. ** WHAT WE QUOTE IS WHAT YOU PAY** Not correct. I had LESS items than what was on my contract, fitting all items under the square footage allowed. I had to pay $352 more. And when I called Homesafe later about it, they said why did you pay them? I told them I paid them: because their lines were busy when I try to reach them at that time. I had to have the items picked up that day as scheduled. I had to run to the bank for cash, because the moving company app did not work like I was told I could pay. I had to get back to work with limited time to wait for help. The moving company had me in a corner and I had no option but to pay the extra money at that time. When I called Homesafe about the extra charges, they said nothing they could do, I paid it. ** NO SURPRISE** Not correct. Finally management contacted me 04-20 with an email, after numerous emails and phone calls, they offered $300 to compensate for my problems. Keep in mind I had paid $352 extra above my contract. I figured that $300 is better than nothing. I then received an email from Homesafe stating if I wanted $300 I had to sign an agreement, that I would not write any bad reviews.

Yes I wanted the $300, but it was more important, to let others know my experience. So I did not agree to this. I wonder how many people had that options with them? When I read the their reviews initially, I asked them about their bad reviews, they had explanations for everything. Please know I'm a real person, with real problems with them. I did what I was supposed to do, I had expected their help when things did not go according to the plan. I was not asking for them to move the world, just a few personal items 1200 miles. This was nothing but headache, total stress and pure frustration working with this company. I would not recommend Homesafe Transit West Palm Beach FL for any one.
