Green Van Lines Moving Company- Dallas

 
Other than this site (which I'm suspicious of..there are no four stars or three stars?..everyone was 100% satisfied with their move), all the other rating sites show that Green Van Lines and Misty May in particular are deceptive people who should be avoided at all costs. I share my story so that other people don't fall prey to their crooked operation. I usually don't go online and rate places to talk trash. However, I wish I had read reviews from other sites because Green Van Lines has a horrible reputation amongst cross-country moving companies. I heard the word "crooks" multiple times from different people in the business. Please check out yelp http://www.yelp.com/biz/green-van-lines-addison before deciding to give them your business. I fell prey to their schemes with the help of Misty May. I was having difficulty finding a moving company because I was moving out of state (from CA to IA), but had bought plane tickets for my dad and me to fly out there over the weekend to unpack my stuff. Both my dad and I had work the upcoming Monday, so we had a very small window to meet the moving guys and unpack all my stuff. I told Misty May my story about purchasing plane tickets and she assured me that "in all her years of experience," if she said that it's going to get there on a certain day, it'll get there..but on the contract, it'll give them a two week window in the unlikely event that the moving truck breaks down. This should've been a huge red flag to me but I was desperate and they were the only company that told me it was "possible." Note: I called about 8 different moving companies and was told that they couldn't guarantee a delivery date. When I was told by the actual moving guys (they subcontract out to local moving companies) that my window was impossible, I got the manager and Misty May on the phone and confronted her about what she told me. She flat out lied and pointed to my signature on the contract as proof that I knew that my stuff wouldn't arrive for another 2 weeks. The moving guys already had all my stuff in their truck so I was required to pay 1700 dollars just to have them put my stuff into a u-haul rental and my boyfriend and I drove 40 hours to Iowa. I couldn't believe the blatant lies I was told and didn't get a refund of any portion of the money I spent. This was a truly awful experience.

I was extremely cautious in hiring a mover for my move from Texas to Florida. After a lot of research, I chose Green Van Lines based on cost, reviews and convenience. The movers who packed my things wrapped my furniture very well. They weren't overly gentle, but didn't harm anything.

My items arrived in three days to Florida on a large semi. I was very surprised to see how jam-packed the truck was and sure some of my items were lost or damaged, however everything made it safely to Florida.

Overall, I am generally pleased with Green Van Lines. My recommendation is to not have too high of expectations of any mover and take all the precautions you can in advance (packing well, organizing your items before the movers arrive, due diligence on moving company, etc.).

Service cost: $1250

Be very careful working with this company , they are not broker but they treat your business as A+ company once they got all deposit and agreement then they will hand off contract to ranking F company in market, they simply ignore you and stop answering your calls and emails.
Nothing keeps them reliable for your goods, you are on your own, they may never deliver your goods or they will charge several times more than what you agreed.
Better to pay to brokers, it will be cheaper and they want their money so they will deliver your goods for sure.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2300

I picked Green Van lines because it was a family owned company. Thought they would treat their customers a little better than these big chain companies. I was WRONG. I understand things get lost it broken but please tell me.... How do you lose a 55' Sony Tv, a huge utility shelve, 2...yes, I said 2 entertainment chairs amoung other things. Some of the boxes looked like they had been thrown down and stomped. I was really upset about the missing items... Could understand items getting broke. When I received my stuff in Florida I explained to the driver stuff was missing. He told me..call the company. I did and I will tell you I was greeted with the misted rudest lady I've ever come in contact with. She belittled me....pretty much called me stupid and inadequate record keeper she ever saw. Kept telling me she would hang up if I didn't answerer the way she wanted. Would nit let me explain.She would say...ma'am if you keep on i'm hanging up and you will be unable to claim. I could go on and on. I have NEVER been treated this way by a customer service person. I even told her to get me someone else to speck to cause she acted mad she had to wait on me. She told me she was head of her department and she was the one I had to talk too.... NEVER EVER AGAIN.

PLEASE DON'T USE THIS COMPANY.

I love Green Van Lines because they did everything they said they would! Kept me up to date, on time, and every part of my move was made simple! My husband and I decided that being closer to family was important, especially because our grandkids were growing up so fast! We could not wait to get back to Texas. I am so happy I chose Green Van Lines to get us back home! They really care! The price was very reasonable and every piece of furniture and every box arrived just the way they picked it all up! Thank you!!

I had hired another mover for a job and once they had my property in their warehouse, they more than doubled my contract rate. (violation of federal law) I retained an attorney and began a legal battle. Meanwhile, the rogue moving company got fed up with my attorney and told us that I needed to get my stuff out of that company's warehouse immediately. I was referred to Green Vanlines by another mover who could not do the job(that says something right there), so I called Green and spoke with Denise. She understood my situation and seemed legitimately concerned and wanted to help me out. Even though they were booked solid for the next few weeks, she was able to get her guys to create a space for me so we could get my stuff out of the other warehouse quickly. Denise explained everything so there would be no surprises when the bill was to be paid. Just 4 days before Green Vanlines was to move my property, my lawyer made headway with the rogue company who ultimately agreed to finish the move at the original binding estimate price. I was able to cancel my move with Green Vanlines without penalty. Even though Green Vanlines did not get my business, Denise told me that she was happy we were able to get my situation resolved without me spending more money. Denise's genuine concern for her customers and her ability to accommodate my situation has convinced me that If I ever need a moving company again, I would go to Green Vanlines. Dealing with Movers had left a bad taste in my mouth until I contacted Denise with Green. A company who is more concerned about the individual than the bottom line is the company I want working for me.

Move size: 4+ Bedroom Home Service cost: $299

I was stuck out of town due to several flight cancellations and had to be out of my apartment the same day my flight returned. I contacted Green Van Lines to schedule a last minute move on Monday afternoon. Their staff was professional, friendly and accommodated my request for an evening move that same day.

Joe and his team showed up and quickly got to work packing up my items with care. They also made suggestions to ensure things were properly secured for the trip. They understood the urgency that was required to complete the task and were patient with me even when the job extended into the night. They truly saved the day!
