Long-distance move from Dallas, TX to Plainsboro, NJ

Take 34 days from new jersey.

We are moving from Texas to New Jersey, and we do not have any pieces of furniture, only 15 large boxes, and a small cooler. Everybody tells us this is a small move and should not be a problem.

Before moving, Arthur(the representative from Green van line) told me it should arrive in one week, usually no more than two. But after we have our staff pick up, there are no updates about the shipping. Every time I call the company, they tell us they have some problems, and they DO NOT EVEN KNOW when it could arrive. Eventually, it takes NEARLY FIVE WEEKS (to be precise, 34 DAYS)!! The pickup and delivery guys are awesome, they are polite and professional, but I do not know what is going on with the transportation. Arthur deducts $100 from our transportation fee, but we have to live without any our staff for 34 days.

Long-distance move from Texas to Florida

Worst Moving Experience Ever.

I work for a construction company and as such I move around the country quite often. This was by far the worst moving company I have ever dealt with. They called me the night before my move and informed me that their truck was broken and that they didn't think they were going to be able to make the pick up date. They fixed this however by sending down another truck so I made the false assumption that things were going to be alright. They then went up in price $1200 from the estimate they quoted me. It then took them two weeks to move my stuff down to Florida, the whole time promising me that it would be there the "next day". They were a -week- late from the delivery day that they actually gave me. Once my belongings arrived things just got worse. Countless items were broken including a very expensive desk and platform bed. They then told me that they would handle it and send out a repair man to get an estimate on the cost of repairs.(which they did) That was 1 month ago and I still have not had anything repaired or any type of feedback from them despite leaving voice-mails for them. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. If I could give them negative starts I would. There idea of customer service is an absolute joke.

Long-distance move from Texas to Maryland

Excellent Company.

I recently made a move from Dallas to Hyattsville MD I made a promise to my self and my sales rep Ken that no matter the outcome I would go online and post about my experience.  I was so afraid prior to this move I can’t even explain it.  Moving is so stressful and after hearing about all the scamming movers out there I really did not know what to do.  I literally spent hours online researching moving companies and looking at different review sites.  Green Van Lines really stood out among the bunch firstly because of their Eco-friendly practices but most of all because of the hundreds of positive experiences I read about from their customers.  From the moment the guys arrived at my door in Dallas and all the way until the delivery in Maryland I was absolutely astounded at their service!  I had a wonderful experience with this company and just want everyone to know that they are absolutely great.  Thank you so much Green and if I ever move again I will definitely come back to you! .

Do not use Green Van Lines!

DO NOT USE GREEN VAN LINES. I READ THAT SOME VERY POSITIVE REVIEWS ARE FALSE. GOOGLE YELP GREEN VAN LINES AND FAKE.

ARTHUR from Green Van Lines completely lied to me about their services. He told me that they are not a broker and you do all their own moving; however, individuals that delivered my goods did not work for Green Van Lines. The people who delivered my goods were haphazard with everything. My goods were tossed all over their truck. They had not packed them correctly at all - instead, they threw everything in there. What kind of professional movers work this way? And, what professional mover puts a glass coffee table flat on the bed of the truck?

In addition to my expensive coffee table being shattered, my art work has a hole in the back, my bicycle is not working properly, my TV cabinet broken, my dining room table corners are damaged, and several things are shattered. I paid an extra $300 for them to pack these things.

I will say that the individuals who picked up my goods were wonderful. However, in the end it doesn't matter if the goods are delivered by a bunch of unprofessionals damaged.

Long-distance move from Florida to Indiana

Stay Away.

Many of the positive feeds you see written here are people who are paid to write good things about the company. I am sure there are customers that have been satisfied, but I honestly question how many. From how bad I was treated, how stressful the move was, how I had several broken things, certain pieces missing, furniture assembled incorrectly, and the amount I paid, I would not recommend anybody to go thru what I did.

Misty, the sales lady was unprofessional rude, and never returned any of my messages in a timely fashion. I was informed that I had up until 24 hours before the actual move to call her and let her know any additional furniture or boxes that I wanted moved, or if I want to take any off the list. For about 10days, I called her with my updated list. Ironically, there were times she would pick up, and then tell me she would call me back, but when she actually had time to talk it was too late and I had to pay significant amount more. When I told her how many messages I left her, she proceeded to tell me she called me back every time. However I did not have any missed call or voice-mails.

Unfortunately the team that delivered my furniture was horrible. They were not only late, but they broke several items, lost certain pieces to assemble my furniture, lost shelves to my bookshelves and showed no remorse.

Long-distance move from Texas to Florida

Wonderful Moving Experience.

I was recently moved during an already stressful situation from Dallas to Miami. Green Van Lines sent in an excellent crew I could not have asked for a better move. I had to move in a very last minute situation due to my job needing me in a new location right away. I had no time to pack myself and their crew came in and took care of everything better than I could have even myself. They were very polite, professional, and immediately made me feel completely at ease. My delivery came in a very reasonable amount of time and I was so happy to see all of my things in my home set up. I would most definitely use them again and reccommend them to anyone needing a good mover. .

Long-distance move from Oklahoma to West Virginia

Do not use.

I had a horrible experience overall. The driver that picked up boxes did not even have tools to dismantle TV stand. I told him that I had a coupon from website that Arthur from company told me to give to him. He said that he would take it at time of delivery. I asked repeatedly whether it would be a driver of the same company and he said yes, but this was not the case.
The Feiffer was late after multiple phone calls.
At delivery, driver lost a wardrobe box with my expensive suits, a 75 dollar charge was added even though it was only one flight of stairs and the agent stated that I would not be charged for this. He did not install my TV and kept in a hurry. The driver was independent and had no relationship to Green Van Lines.
Very unprofessional overall and the boxes were left for me to get rid off even though the website states that they recycle.
Do Not Use them!!
George.

Great job.

I had Green Van Lines move me from my apartment to my new house. When they came they were on time and very efficent. They packed my things very neatly and organized. Jason and his crew were very polite and enterjetic. Everything was very organized and they were pretty quick too! They loaded the truck in a very timly manner and was finished a lot faster than I imagined. All of my things arrived safe and in same condition. They cleaned up before they left which is a big plus. I reccomend Green Van Lines to everyone they were really great and were a big help to me in my move! .

Long-distance move from Minnesota to North Carolina

Lost six boxes and my six foot ladder.

After agreeing upon an established quote for our move with Green Van Lines, their pick up crews tried to charge us an extra $3000.  To make matters worse, upon delivery it was discovered that they lost six boxes of personal property and our six foot ladder, exceeding more than $3500 in value.   We received a quote from Green Van Lines for an interstate move.  It began with going through the entire home reviewing all the contents in every room with their rep, Misty Way.  As a result we received a bid for $4271 if we packed the contents and were advised that the estimate was based on items, not weight.  When agreeing to employ them to move our daughter's belongings from MN to NC, we asked Misty about the additional insurance.  She dissuaded us from taking it and stated that they never have any problems.  Based upon her suggestion, we declined the coverage. On May 14 the crew arrived and surveyed the packed items and furniture stating that the job would cost $3000 more than previously quoted.  In anticipation of the move, she had "thinned out" her belongings and had even given away several pieces of furniture.  The load had diminished in size because of this.  Our daughter called us in tears as she didn't know what to do.  Her home needed to be emptied of belongings that day.  We instructed her to not allow them to touch anything and then got on the phone.  We had prolonged conversations with the staff in Texas, the General Manager, and the owner who subsequently conceded to the original quote after much frustration and stress on our part. They came for an interstate move and had no tools, thus had to borrow from a neighbor! Our daughter then allowed them to load the truck and paid them half of the agreed upon charge via Certified Funds.  We felt uncomfortable and wondered if they had tried to take advantage of a single young women in a very vulnerable position. Her items were stored in a warehouse in Chicago for a couple of weeks before being delivered to the end destination in Charlotte, NC.  They were delivered on June 1 and I insisted upon marking the inventory sheet as each and every item was brought through the front door.  The delivery crew were very nice, very polite but had commented on how it wouldn't be necessary to mark the inventory because they had double checked and knew that everything was on board.  But we insisted.  This is how we know that six boxes of items did not make it to our daughter's home as well as her six foot ladder.  They were paid the other half of the fee (policy is to be paid prior to unloading), and we were left minus many belongings.I personally unpacked everything that had arrived, checking for damage and trying to determine what would have been contained within those six boxes that were missing.  A list of known items, much of it high end kitchen appliances and cookware (my daughter had gone to culinary school and loved to cook/bake) as well as garage items (shop vac and complete household tool box) was compiled and we reported it to Green Van Lines in hopes that they could locate our boxes.  The value of these items well exceeded $3500 and we just wanted them to FIND OUR BOXES.  Well, they found the ladder.  It was at the warehouse being used by the folks who worked there.  What the heck??  Where were our boxes with everything else?  Green Van Lines could not answer that.  They only wanted us to file the online claim which would reimburse 60 cents on the dollar by WEIGHT not VALUE.  BIG DEAL!   Over two months later, after they assured us they would treat us fairly, they offered $87 dollars, less than the value of the ladder they found in their warehouse and have not returned to us.  Many promises and implications were made, but nothing more than $87 dollars ever offered in return for such a major loss.  Beware and do not place yourself in this same situation.  Would NEVER recommend them for a move.
