Long story short: the "service" is not worth the money. The company originally quoted me for $2300. Because of that quote we decided to go with Everest instead of ourselves or another company. They were "good" salesman though. The salesman claimed to be a vet and tried to establish trust that we were both military. Against my better judgement I trusted him. I know my fault.

The week we were getting our house moved they called with a bunch of nonsense to "prepare me" for a price hike. They quote changed to $6700! I expressed my concerns politely and the QA Manager offered a $1000 discount. While this was frustrating, I was ready to just move on. Mind you this new quote for roughly $5k did not include actual packing like the original $2300 quote. So we are now paying double for half the service.

You would think that would be the end; however! Everest found a way. They had us scheduled for two days considering the size of the move. The "first day" they were supposed to be here they did not reach out. I had to reach out to them. They also decided to cancel that first day and show up only on the 2nd day at 7am. If they could complete the work that would have been fine, but! They did not show up during the time on the 2nd day.

I have been in the Army 12 years and have never had such a horrible experience with a moving company.

Very disappointed. I would highly recommend seeking another company / moving yourself.

Do not work with Everest Relocation, highly likely you’ll get ripped off. After signing with them (when I was assured I could cancel within 3 days for a full refund of my deposit), I found out through on-line complaints they often show up and demand significantly higher fees and essentially hold your move hostage. Upon discovering this, I called to cancel and ask for the refund I was promised by Matt. They assured me I’d get my refund, the move was canceled, and there was nothing more to do. Matt even convinced me to give them another shot to provide an accurate estimate, but then never provided one. After that, I got the runaround (send us your request again…now we need an explanation of why you cancelled…oh you canceled too late…no, it wasn't too late, but it’s too close to your move…you can use the refund for your next move, etc…) When I called their bluff and tried to book a small move for the remainder of our stuff, they demanded more money and told me they already gave my deposit to the first movers (the ones they said they canceled).

Detail: On July 11, I spoke with Matthew Murphy. He confirmed verbally 3 times that I could cancel for a full refund if I found a better price up until 3 days before my move.

After getting more quotes that all came to $8,000 and seeing some terrible reviews of Everest, I came to the belief that their quote of $4,000 or so was too good to be true and that they would charge me much more when they came to actually pick up my items. On July 12 I was contacted by Tim with Quality Assurance and I shared these concerns. He asked me to send a more detailed list of my items and he would validate the quote. He put me off saying he had to take his son to the hospital but asked me to send my detailed packing list which I did. Next day he texted me they would figure it out or they would “take care of it.” There is so much more but Google has a character limit. They dodged, weaved, made excuses, lied and failed to accept their employees gave me wrong information that ensured it wasn't even possible for me to book a move with them. And kept my $1000 deposit anyway. And I have documentation on all of it, but they don't care. If they can take your money, they will. Joseph, Tim and Jacob also were part of the scam.

Shady. Don’t lose your money during this stressful time. If you have to use a mover, use one that had high ratings and a history of good service.

What a nightmare working with this company has been. The move ended up costing us over $2,000 more than they quoted, my service agreement was no longer accessible on line to prove what all they had promised in their original quote, they lied to us for 2 days and delayed our move telling us the flatbed that was to move our vehicle was broken down, only to admit later that they never hired anyone to move it. We had to drive two cars to our new destination and it's been twomonths now and they will not refund my deposit. I've been calling them and emailing them with no response or resolution. Do yourself a favor and safe yourself a huge headache, DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR RELOCATION NEEDS, They are horrible.
