Diamond Relocation

This is the WORST company!! While the actual movers were good, they were quick and courteous, the owner Mark is completely unprofessional, rude and dismissive. My movers were scheduled to pick up in Montreal at 2:00pm, they did not show up until 9:00pm. It had been snowing all day as it was December, one of the movers promptly told me they forgot runners to put down in the house, so they moved all my stuff for the next 1.5 hours with 4 guys going back and forth outside and in, all the while snow and slush and water was just accumulating all over my floor. It took me 2 hours to clean up after they left and I had work the next day. When I confronted Mark about it he told me " some customers are worth investing in and some are not, you are not" and told me I would not be compensated for that and then promptly blocked me his phone. I booked my stuff to be picked up 1 week before I was actually flying out so that my stuff would be in Alberta, which I was told was 5 days, when I got there. When I called the morning of my delivery I was told that my stuff was in Toronto and I would not be getting it for another week. When I said "where do you expect me to sleep?" I was told "where you sleep is not my concern, I answered your question". Come delivery day, it was supposed to be delivered by 12:00, when I called the driver at 12 he said there was an issue and would be here by 1:00-2:00. When I called at 2:15pm I was told to office made a mistake and sent him and my stuff to Calgary, not Edmonton. Needless to say, I would NOT recommend this rude company to my worst enemy. Save yourself the hassle and go with ANYONE else!!!

Horrible experience. It started out fine… until we booked and paid our deposit. We expected less service since this is a very budget-friendly mover, but it is just not worth it. Mark scheduled our move for a Fri-Sat, and then changed it to the following Mon-Tues. That was fine because it gave us more time to prepare and so work schedules were changed again to pack on the weekend. At 430 on FRIDAY the driver called and wanted to pick up in the morning! We couldn’t do it obviously … and since it was a weekend Mark was not responding…. were in a panic! He did not explain the ‘system’ to us and we did not know how it all worked. On Monday he finally took my call and basically shrugged it off. Out of his control. With these guys, once you book, they are done with you. And you have no recourse. He would check the schedule but said he didn’t know if we could have a refund. So he rebooked us for a week later. We had to change our flights, re-adjust work schedules, etc, and would now move two weeks late. Our new pickup was on a Sat or Sunday, and of course it did not happen. And no communication. Once again, in a panick, we could not make contact until Monday. Now another guy answered and it was “sorry, the truck was full and so we have to cancel your move. Too bad the driver didn’t call to inform you. We will refund you your deposit though.” WHAAAT??!! Then he hung up on me when I was upset and asking for some kind of help or referral to another company.

Now we are rescheduled with another company after a day of phoning everywhere to find someone with an opening. We have rescheduled our flights again. It is more money, and our move will be 5 weeks late. We are exhausted and frustrated and stressed.

Don’t do it. Find a reputable carrier who cares and know their drivers. This is not even close to being worth the extra money we will pay. Honestly.

Do not hire this company! Very poor customer service. I hired Diamond Relocation to move my daughter's belongings from her one bedroom apartment in Alberta to Ontario. Mark Russo operation and sales manager (Edmonton) estimated delivery to be between 7-10 days, at a cost of 750 plus taxes. Delivery date was well over one month... from pickup on December 30th, to delivery on February 6th, and the cost was 900 dollars... 150 above quote (which I felt no choice but to pay as the company had her belongings in their possession) AND even more absurd is the driver requested my daughter meet him at the TransCanada Hwy to pick up her belongings! First delivery was scheduled for Jan 14-17th, rescheduled to Jan 20-21st, then again rescheduled to Feb 5-6th. Never once did the company call to advise of delay of delivery. When my daughter did not receive a call or expected delivery from the company she contacted them for explanation. At that point they would inform her of the delay. Finally, on Feb 5th, she received a call from the mover. He requested she meet him at the TransCanada Hwy, 58km from her address, to pick up her belongings. The road leading into town is a paved highway, and it was clear of snow, therefore no reason not to be able to drive into town. The next day, the driver agreed to deliver to her residence after she insisted he fulfil the terms of the contract. When I emailed Diamond Relocations to report this and explain my dissatisfaction, their response was 'We are a budget company. Sorry for the inconvenience. We cannot reimburse your 150 dollars that was over your initial quote,' Basically you pay for what you get. My advice is do not hire Diamond Relocation. You might get charged more than quoted, you cannot count on estimated date of delivery, and you may be asked to pick up your belongings on the TransCanada Highway!
