Cross Country Moving Group are the ones to hire!

I can’t say enough nice things about Cross Country Moving Group! Starting with my initial call to set up an appointment all the way to the end of the move was flawless. The quote I was given for the service was well within reason and they certainly delivered. No damaged boxes and no hidden fees. If you’re going to move, this is the company to hire! Good prices, good people, and overall great service! If I ever need to hire another moving company, I will certainly be hiring Cross Country Moving Group for the job!

Great and Affordable Service!

I needed a company that could help me with a long move. I was moving to Houston in order to attend college, but neither my parents or my friends were able to help me move. Luckily, I was able to find Cross Country Moving and they were able to give me a rather cheap price. All of my belongings were able to arrive safely and quickly at my destination, all at an affordable price!

I'm so happy I went with cross country moving group.

I'm so happy I went with cross country moving group. I've heard so many horror stories from friends about their experiences using moving companies, that I wanted to drive everything myself! cross country moving group proved them wrong. They were fast, organized, and delivered right on schedule. I have a lot of precious stuff and I couldn't believe that they kept everything in tact over the 800+ mile drive. I don't want to have to move cross country again, but if I do, I will for sure be using them.

Long-distance move from San Diego, CA to Phoenix, AZ

The Worst Experience Imaginable.

Is it possible to give negative stars? Honestly, I have never had a worse, more insulting experience than with Cross Country moving. I was so hopeful in talking with Chad Gooch, the front person, who told me in writing that his price was a worst case scenario and that there would be no surprises. Well, my move went from $2303 to over $4000 at pickup, including a $700 booking fee, whatever that is, plus $100 apiece for television boxes because my padded cases weren’t acceptable. Even though my furniture was not that valuable, the movers said they had to shrink wrap all of it for an additional $200. Then, when I asked how long it would take for the furniture to get to Phoenix from San Diego, only about 400 miles, they said 2-4 days. That was Tuesday. it is now Saturday and we have just been told it won’t arrive until Tuesday—a whole week for a relatively short trip. I have tried numerous times to talk to Chad Gooch about the shortfalls, and he has not returned calls or emails. I recognize that they contract with others, so some of the problems may come from that, but I have yet to see any evidence at all that they stand by their product or hold themselves responsible for the service provided. Seriously, I have never in my long life gotten a worse hosing than from Cross Country Movers. I am truly STUNNED at how much of a nightmare this has been. BEWARE!!

We used cross country moving group for our move to Kingsport TN. It was an absolute perfect move. Heather did a fantastic job setting up our move and our moving team. They had a very efficient system and the entire move was extremely fast and inexpensive. They were very cordial and professional. We highly recommend cross country moving group's for any moving services and we certainly use them again.

Outstanding!

Cross Country Moving Group really went above and beyond to turn a stressful situation into a seamless one! My nervous were already wrecked with havoc having to do such a long distance move but, I could not have asked for a better team. They anticipated our needs and were fully prepared to wrap fragile items I had forgotten about. The booking process was also pretty simple and they were prompt with time. Unloading went smoothly as well as they placed everything where instructed to. Many thanks to my angels in disguise! I will definitely use again in the future.

Too Big For My Van.

I wasn't moving far (one town over) but I have a lot of stuff, & objects like my couch or my(solid wood) bed frame just wouldn't fit in my van. I decided to give Cross Country Moving Group a try. Unlike the last time I moved, nothing got broken! The price was very reasonable, the movers were nice, & it only took one day. It's definitely better to hire movers rather than try to move stuff yourself. If you want a company that's reliable and efficient, Cross Country Moving Group definitely has my recommendation!

Long-distance move from Glen Cove, NY to Dallas, TX

Moving Nightmare.

DO NOT USE!! I had an $8000 move of an entire house. Thought I did my research, looked at every review for every company. Did me no good. They are brokers so they have no control over what goes on. I was scheduled for a Saturday move date for 2 months. Called several times to confirm everything, even up to day prior. Packed entire house and ready to hit the road. Got a call from the driver at 2:30 that they were still 5-6 hours away. They were exhausted and would rather come the next day if that was OK. It was a 6+ hour job in a community. There was no way they were going to get me picked up on time. In addition, the driver mentioned the last load he picked up was much bigger than expected and there might not be enough room on the truck. I spoke to the office, explained how I lost all faith in them and they needed to refund my deposit and I found another company within 1 hour. We were now a day late and no where to stay. They said they would refund my money, please do not dispute my charge with CC company. I once again obliged. 4 days later no refund. Called not even on their radar. Told them they had 12 hours to refund my money and otherwise I was disputing the charge (BTW, disputed charges are very bad for a merchant). The next morning I was sent a letter they will give me back 50% of my money if I agreed to accept as final settlement. THEY DID NOT PICK ME UP IN TIME AND WANT ME TO SETTLE. There are other companies, you will be aggravated moving long distance with any of them, but if you use this company, beware they have several names, do not say you were not warned. Look up their DOT number and those of other companies. You will immediately see the difference.

Long-distance move from San Diego, CA to Eugene, OR

Smooth and Reliable.

A friend of mine recommended this company to help me move from my old apartment to a new home. This company took all my stress away and assumed all the responsibility of my move. I just needed to call them once and then they sent me the quote quickly which was the lowest one that I got among several other companies. I confirmed the booking for the next day since I needed to move urgently, and as promised the next day the guys showed up. They handled everything carefully and efficiently. I highly recommend this company and would certainly use them again!

Everybody played a part you will not be forgotten.

This moving company – Cross Country Moving Group was always on time with all their phone calls all the scheduled pickups and the schedule deliveries. We reserved our move well in advance to save some money and it paid off. Will you read many good things about the company and of course we had our downs but until we got on the phone with them and soft for our self it’s hers out all were true. They save us a lot of money and they saved us from doing this move ourselves. Everybody played a part you will not be forgotten.

Long-distance move from Tennessee to Florida

Worst customer experience I ever had in my life.

Go with Cross Country if you want to be fleeced. I was sold a $1,600 contracted estimate and paid right at $2,400 actual.

Consider these points before using them:

1 - Unreliable max cubic feet estimates.

2 - Unreliable packing/packaging advise.

3 - Terrible Communications. Be prepared to call them for everything. I had to follow up with them several times on everything regarding pickup and delivery. Pickup was 1 day late. Delivery was 5 days late. They reimbursed me for 3 of those 6 days.

4 - READ every paper you sign fully before signing it. Ask tons of questions about potential "other costs" and trust nothing, verify everything as best you can. Their contracts keep them out of any trouble and are very well constructed to suit their "fleecing" schemes.

5 - Summary/Conclusion - I have never been so mislead on estimates versus actual costs on any project I have ever been involved with.

The pickup driver and Cross Country were aligned in their response at day of pickup and followup the next day. "We can move what is/was estimated and leave the rest with you." This is a great customer experience. Deliver only part of my stuff. The pickup driver says "I am the actual mover and they (CCMoving) are just a broker and do not know what they are talking about." He goes on to say I am eating even 40 more cubic feet than I charged you additionally for and I cannot take some of these items "as-is" and they will have to be packaged properly. He says that I should call CC Movers and they should cover some of this additional expense. I do so the next day. CC Movers response was "it's in the contract to package properly and that they could be held to the estimate and move only what would fit and leave the rest." Lastly, they said they could "request a re-measure at delivery to see if any costs could be reduced." I told them there is no need. I was quite convinced of the actual capacity needed after discussing with the pickup driver and my brother who was at the pickup scene. I stated that the issue was again with the huge variance between estimate and actual and that if I knew the cost could be this high up front, I would not have hung up on the sales guy; not wanting to pay this much for them to move. No harm , no foul. I asked for CCMovers to meet me in the middle and reimburse some monies towards this price hike and was told they would "look into it". The vibe was, of course, no way I am doing anything. I am covered by the contract.

Stage 1 - Sales call.

I sent an image of the 10x10 storage unit, not completely full at height or width. I requested worst case sizing and that I had packed everything myself to avoid the mover fees for packaging. Sales reviewed every item with me on the call and said this space estimate is inflated and will cover it no problem. And sales guy says all but two items are packaged as expected and I should be good.

Stage 2 - Pickup (INSTA MOVERS from Birmingham , AL)

My brother and his wife were there in TN to meet the Pickup driver as I was already in FL where the items were to be delivered. Driver tells me he is emailing the ACTUAL contract for signature on pickup and that the sizing would increase ($450) and packaging was required ($178). And that deliver window was 14 days, not the 4 days the sales guy told me on the initial call. After talking to the moving company driver (and the next day with Cross Country), they both stated to me that this is the way the contracts work.

Stage 3 - Delivery (vendor contracted by INSTA MOVERS)

I call for many days to INSTA MOVERS to try and get them pinned down on a delivery date and never get a real answer; "it will be couple of days from now" each time I call. I tell them that the condo does not allow delivery on the weekend and that they have to deliver between 9:00 and 4:00. The person tells okay, I will pass it on to the driver. The driver calls me Friday about 4:00 PM and tells me he will be there Saturday. I tell him the same information as above that he will now have to wait until Monday. He says okay. No one had passed the information on to him. Sunday I get a call from his manager, telling me his driver is ten minutes from arriving in Daytona Beach Shores; clueless about the no weekend delivery rules, etc. I tell him the driver will have to come Monday. The driver shows up Monday and I tell him I will get the elevator ready, and he says "Oh, there is a $75 dollar elevator fee and also a walking distance fee for every foot beyond a certain limit from truck to door." I call the manager and he happily tells me "oh yes that is in the contract that you signed."I tell him my brother signed that and no one mentioned that to him at the signing that this is a potential cost. And that I am surprised again at yet another cost to absorb not ahead of time but at time of meeting". I tell him that "potential costs should be stated to the customer at time of signing to avoid an unhappy customer experience.".

Be careful about signing the contract too quickly.

Cross Country Moving Group is a broker with many movers affiliated. They didn't disclose it over the phone but the contract you may overlook and they rush you to sign based on an estimated quote which may appear to be a very attractive price. Once you sign the contract with your deposit, things start to go wrong. I paid more than double what was initially quoted and signed. The mover will say Cross Country Moving Group is just a broker and their quote is meaningless. On the date of the move, I didn't have any choice but to comply. When I called them on the date of the delivery to get ETA, they said it's not scheduled to deliver on that date and it will take another week or two. I called Cross Country Moving, the mover, and customer service even tried to contact people who picked up my stuff in NYC. Cross Country told me to talk to the mover and the mover asked me to call Cross Country Moving. The mover was saying people who picked up does not deliver. There is another company that will drive down to Florida for the delivery. It was an absolute nightmare. I never had any bad experience with movers except this one and hope this is an isolated instance with a few terrible employees of the company but everyone should do thorough due diligence on each broker/mover while searching. Hope you all have a better experience with your movers as a move itself is quite stressful and you do not want any added stress dealing with a terrible moving company.

Do Not use.

This company supposedly is a broker and hire moving companies without confirming their credentials. They sub contract a company that never delivered my property and cross country movers stated they are not responsible and there is nothing they can do. The continued to tell me lies daily about my property Delivery dates, they refused to assist in me getting my property and told me I needed to contact the movers myself. They give you fake names of supervisors that are going to supposedly call you back and when you call they have caller ID and put you on hold and never speak to you. Stay away from this company.

Smooth Is An Understatement.

Yup, Cross Country Moving Group did a wonderful job for my church brother. His family was expanding, and he needed the move to the South to be efficient (and stress free)! I helped with packing, but this company got the material packed so well for the road, and they emphasized being mindful of what was easy to break. That did it for me, since too many companies prove to be careless when they're moving people's easy-to-break furniture. I recommend these guys to everyone looking to move cross country! You just don't get service like this often!

Customer Service is terrible.

I was planning to move today since my lease ends today. Everything was ready and I made a reservation at a hotel. Two hours before the agreed-upon pick-up time, some random woman with a bad attitude called me and told me that it’s not going to happen today due to “major delay.” What’s even more unbelievable is that she claimed to be working over hours and used that as an excuse to disrespect me with such a condescending tone.

How is it my fault that your movers cannot make it on time? And now I’m going to lose all my hotel deposit. Shame on whoever that woman is, and I hope you lose your job soon with that attitude.

Came to help in a time of need!

Cross Country Moving Group was suggested to me by my sister. I made a difficult but beneficial decision to move back to Georgia due to unexpected situations. I wanted to ensure the moving process would be stress-free and very quickly, it was apparent I chose the best company for the job. My items were well-taken care of at all times. When discussing business with a company, easy communication is a significant factor for me. The movers updated me constantly on the process and they explained everything from start to finish.

Awful Customer Service!!

I am thirty-five years old, and Cross Country Moving Group is the worst company I have ever done business with in my life - bar none! I would recommend that anyone considering them as a solution for his or her upcoming move should move as quickly as possible to the next option. I was sold a service over the phone that 100% does not align with the fine print in their written contract. I was told on the phone on three occasions that my move would start on June 8, even as recently as June 5. The driver did not arrive at my house until 5:00p on June 8. He was alone and in a truck that was too small. The job did not begin until June 9.

This one day delay cost our family an additional $600 in changed flights, a hotel room, and an additional day of childcare cost. I received an automated email from the company asking how my move went on June 8! In their own system, they had the date they told me the job would begin, but per their contract in the fine print, they had a two-day window to complete the move. As I spent hours on the phone trying to explain my frustrations, there was not one time anyone from Cross Country Moving Group apologized for my situation or showed an ounce of sympathy. I was even told at one point that I had “unrealistic expectations” by Stephen, one of their customer service representatives. The only thing they kept bringing up was the contract. They did not take responsibility for the three phone calls I received leading up to June 8 saying the job would begin June 8. They also had no explanation for why their system sent an automated message asking me how my move went on June 8.

I have requested on multiple occasions to be compensated for the additional $600 of expenses that our family incurred because of the delay. Once our move was completed, my phone calls and emails have gone unresponded to. Similar to the pickup of our belongings, the delivery of our items occurred four days after the date agreed to. The agreed upon delivery date is all in recorded conversations that were had when our move was set up. I have requested access to those recordings and have been denied. Again, I was told that the contract I signed allotted them a 3-16 day window for delivery. Who has the luxury of potentially spending up to 16 days waiting for their belongings to arrive at their new residence? Another point of frustration is that all of this cost $5,000 more than the first quote I received when the job was set up.

Stay away from this company! They could care less about you or your family’s things.

Their customer service is just awesome..

I think every moving company should pay equal attention to both their moving services and their customer care. Many companies train their movers really well these days but the customer care service is whole different story. However, with Cross Country Moving Group, I was quite impressed in both departments. They called me back in just ten minutes with an amazingly low quote. The movers arrived on time and packed up my 3-bed apartment super-fast. The movers were just so professional and efficient. The delivery was made the next day. I checked the inventory and nothing was missing. The movers did an excellent job and I commend them for it. Their customer service was also just awesome.

Totally messed up my move - with huge financial implications.

Do NOT use this company. Please ensure you download your quote from them and keep a record of it - as it is kept on a portal and not accessible after you have booked. You will need this to prove what they quoted you. The quote is there simply to hook you. When the removal people turned up (a day late), they tripled the price from $8,000 to $23,800. I was in a situation whereby I had to be out of the house and had no choice but to pay. These guys are brokers and do not give the downpayment to the moving company - as they tell you. So I encourage you not to use this company. I have tried to resolve this and they are brushing me off at every level.
