Long-distance move from Homer, AK to Idalia, CO

Impressive.

Last week we had Cross Country Moving Group company to move my family from Avondale to Phoenix. When we scheduled the move from the very start from the scheduling to the completion of our move was to say the least impressive.I was nervous, I had not used many moving companies. The few experiences that I have had in the past were not the greatest. I had a lot of questions which were answered patiently by Adam. The movers were Adam, Eric and John and they were polite, well mannered and professional. No damage to anything they moved, and they were so patient with my indecisiveness. I will use your company again. I will recommend you to anyone I know who is in the need of moving services. It is important to treat customers with kindness and respect over all and I experienced all of that nd I am a happy customer.

Great job.

We were looking for a moving company to help us relocate all of our home furniture and we came across Cross country moving group. They were very professional in helping us and we highly recommend them to anyone looking at a long distance move or shipping need. They helped to let us know that all of our things would be kept in good condition and they also made sure to explain any variables of service to us. Overall, we are very pleased with how this company helped us take care of such a big task in moving across the states. Check them out!

Diligent and Punctual.

Having to move out in somewhat of a pinch, I was very glad that Cross Country Movers was able to almost immediately give me a quote and begin the moving process as soon as I was ready. They were honest about the price upfront, and did not add hidden fees later. The team of workers were very respectful and worked carefully, being sure to not break or scratch anything. Having faced no problems in the process, I would absolutely recommend this moving company to anyone due to their careful work ethic and transparency.

Moving Process was very Easy.

Last week, my roommate and I had to pack up and relocate from our dorm into our own apartment. We decided to move into Flordia to find better-paying jobs and be closer to family, but this meant having to move all of our belongings thousands of miles away. CCM was one of the cheapest companies to use. And they made it easy to track our belongings along the way. None of our stuff was lost or ruined along the way. I recommend this service for those with little experience in moving because Cross Country Movers made it very easy :).

Moving process made easy!

Stories of damaged and lost property, hidden fees resulting in an over-expensive move were all moving nightmares. I wasn't disappointed in CCM, it was the opposite. My interstate moving experience was simple and with a lot less stress. The men were great and very helpful during the whole process and offered upfront price quotes with no hidden fees. Whether short distance or long, CCM is the right move!!

I would use them again.

Cross Country Moving Group had good ratings so I hired them. The movers were very prepared. When they came, they did a really quick job and moved everything. It was my first long distance move with my family so I was little bit nervous. Our belongings were delivered a couple of days later. We had to store our belongings, and they were very kind to store it for us and then delivered it when our house was ready. Nothing was broken or damaged. I would use them again.

Worst experience.

Worst moving experience thus far. Called to initially have my car moved. Neil Snoep offered to move belongings as well then neglected to add my car to the contract robbing me of 1620 dollars to move 21 boxes. Called the day before to tell me when they would arrive only to change the day an hour later. Arrived 5 hours late. Movers rudely asked for a tip. Called to discuss the matter but was never called back. Will never use this moving company again or refer friends and family moving across country.

Long-distance move from Monticello, AR to Mobile, AL

Moving.

I was searching online to find a proper mover after I bought a new house. Cross Country Moving Group jumped out at me after reading a few reviews. I gave the guys a call and got a decent estimate around $2800. This was much better than all the other local services I inquired about with the amount of things I needed moved.

Once I signed on with Cross Country, they came out and started to work. They took care of some priceless(to me) family heirlooms first, being careful with such delicate pieces. After that, moving the main bulk of my furniture was a quick and easy process. I was not in a rush, but these guys got the job done at a much faster pace than I would have guessed.

I recommend the guys over at Cross Country if you are looking for the care and attentiveness that most businesses lack these days. Reasonable rates and excellent work ethic.

Company Lacking in Principal and Integrity.

My journey started off on a positive note in working with the initial representative in response to my quote request, he worked with me in attempting to keep my cost down to a minimum as I did not have a large volume of items remaining in public storage My initial quote came in a little higher than I had wanted to spend and removed two large items (couch and fireplace) to keep it at the minimum of 286 cu.ft. The estimate was updated and signed and I was pleased to think this chapter in my life would soon be closed and I would be truly starting over.

A few days later, I received a phone call from a QA representative to go back over my inventory list and secure my pick up date. After speaking with him, he increased my quote to 364 cu.ft with an increase of approx. $700. I disputed this as I had been working with my daughter who is in the transportation industry to ensure that the total cu.ft of my belonging would stay under the 286 cu.ft minimum. She was diligent in conducting full measurements of all of my items and after allowing for a 40 cu.ft buffer we were at approximately 250 cu.ft. (well under minimum).

In calling the representative back, we discussed the updated quote in detail at which time we were assured multiple times that the increase in quote was to ensure that the truck sent out for pick up had ample room incase we were to go over the minimum and that we would only be charged the exact cu.ft loaded on the truck at the time of pick up. After much deliberation and in taking this gentleman for his word, I did sign the updated estimate to ensure that I would meet my targeted pick up date prior to leaving the state.

On the day of pick up (12/30), the driver requested payment against the updated estimate in which I clearly stated that I was told that I would only be charged for the cu.ft that would be loaded on the truck and wanted to ensure that I stayed under minimum and would not have items loaded above the projected 286. He stated that as a driver he would not be able to update the estimate at which time I attempted to contact the QA representative (no answer) as well as customer service (no answer). The driver then spoke to his supervisor who stated he would honor the 286 quote as my items where well under minimum. With that said, I moved forward in allowing the movers to load my items on the truck and the BOL was updated with the 286 cu.ft notation, which was signed. Having felt that the issue was resolved, I did not continue to attempt to contact customer service again at that time as I took both the representatives word that I would only be charged for what is loaded on the truck and the drivers word they would honor the minimum.

I received a call on 1/9 from customer service stating my items had been loaded on the truck and that I should receive a call from the driver on Sat/Sun to schedule drop off and we reviewed the total balance owed based on my final estimate. After disputing the amount due based on the above, she stated she could not change the amount and would have to have a supervisor contact me.

After giving the company more than ample time to have a supervisor respond while waiting on a call from the driver, I followed back up with customer service to get a status update on my delivery on 1/15. At that time, I was told the driver was in AZ (an hour and a half away) and I should be receiving a call any day. In addition, we went back over the cost due upon delivery at which time no change had been made. I once again, went over what had been discussed previously at which time she asked for me to send over the documents for her supervisor review and someone would get back to me.

The only response I have seen since that call was a copy of the final estimate I requested as it was no longer available, no supervisor call, no call from the driver and have still not received my belongings, we are now 22 days in.

At this time, what bothers me more than anything is that there has been no contact from the company in response to my concerns to validate, correct or justify. No.. I apologize for your experience and added stress but it is what it is OR let me see what I can do to assist you further to make it right OR any additional follow up as to when I may expect delivery.

I am thankful for my family support in the process as they were present and witness to the conversations in regards to the updated quote as well as what transpired upon pick up.

If you choose this company for your move you are taking a chance, I personally would avoid the risk of undue stress and heartache.

I have accepted the fact that I may be bound to the last updated estimate in order to obtain my personal belongings, but strongly believe that even in this day and age, a company representative should still be taken for their word and a customer treated kindly, respectfully and timely when addressing their concerns. It is a matter of principal and integrity. BBB may also agree.

Move Stress-Free!

At first the thought of moving across the country seemed like an immensely daunting task. It meant either getting rid of a lot of possessions that had gathered a lot of emotional importance over the years or renting a moving van and having to worry about it getting broken into while I made the multi-day drive.

However Cross Country Moving Group took all of those worries off my hand by ensuring my belongings arrived safe and sound to my new home and turned what could have been a stressful drive I to a relaxing road trip! I highly recommend their services!

Great Customer Service.

I’ve moved quite a few times and have rarely been impressed with the service of moving companies. These guys simply blew me away! I’m always worried about my items becoming damaged during the move, but they made sure all of my items were not only delivered, but in the same shape as they left. No damages at all. Yes, the price may be higher than some other places, but they are totally worth it! I highly recommend them!

Unmet promises and lack of urgency from customer service.

I have never completed an online review before but my experience was so awful that I need to share so that others can save the headache and find a different company to use.

I used Cross Country Moving Group for a recent move from Colorado to Wisconsin and it was an awful experience. The salesman confirmed throughout the entire process that I would be able to get my stuff picked up and delivered within a week because he knew he has a load going out that he could get me on.

When I followed up a few days after my stuff was picked up I had to leave multiple voicemails to get a response only to be told my stuff will not get on a load any time soon. The salesman was not helpful to make up for the broken promise and was very unresponsive.

I was quoted for 2-14 days, was confirmed over text it would be there in under a week, and it ended up taking 24 days to move my stuff 1,000 miles.

I would NOT recommend this company to anybody. Every time I talked to customer service there was no sense of urgency or respect towards the customers. I will never use them again and I hope that nobody else has the awful experience that I had.

This company is a scam. Stay away at all costs!

I moved from Nevada to North Carolina. The first thing that happens is you talk to a snake-oil salesman who underestimates the cost of your move. I even went out of the way to send pictures of everything with dimensions measured out and drawn on the pictures, with descriptions. Next, you actually get moved and you find out that your stuff took up much more space. Well what do you do now? You're lease is out, you already sunk 1/3 of the cost into this scam company that you won't get back, so you basically have no choice but to pay it. Then, when you finally get your stuff (I had to be in town for an entire week cause that was the best they could do to "estimate" arrival time), a bunch of it is broken. File a claim, wait 6 months, and get pennies on the dollar for the stuff that was trashed or missing. You'd think you'd at least get a refund for the space that was taken up by the items they never delivered. But no. Rather then dealing with these guys, you might as well liquidate everything you can and then just pull your personal belongings in a trailer. The money I wasted on these guys could've bought most of the stuff I owned and had these lousy scum move.

Customer-First Attitude!

Wow. There, my review is done. Really though, for every expectation I had these guys blew it out of the water, exceeding them in every way. From their logistical planning in my very narrow schedule to very particular ways I liked things done. They were great sports about it and even took the time to patiently give me expert suggestions on things would work better. They were informative and helpful but most of all they seemed to genuinely care about my belongings like they were their own. A+.

The Excellents of Moving Day.

The "Cross Country Moving Group" is a tremendously outstanding company! I thank them for their professionalism, great quality work, and excellent quantity involved. This is a company we can all rely on. Last week was the first I ever gotten in contact with a moving company. what I felt would be a complicated and disastrous first-time turned out to be the complete opposite. For the price, it was worth it. There were no damages, not even a scratch. Their moving crew handled my belongings for my new home with care and professionalism, as wished. They are a broker - don't use them.

I moved from Massachusetts to Texas. Their estimate of my moving expenses was half of what it ended up costing me. Additionally, I was told that they had moved celebrities before, implying that the move would be good. In reality, the movers that moved me lost several items and my piano was cosmetically damaged enough that it needs to be refinished. I was not told up front that they're a broker. If you don't want to pay more money for your move, don't use them. Go to an actual moving company and get a live quote from them.

Excellent service, employees, and website.

I expected my first move to be an absolute nightmare both financially and logistically. However, the CCMG did a fantastic job, they were consistently on time and highly professional; all for an extremely undervalued price. My fiance was absolutely panicking over the transition of some of our more valuable and fragile items, but after the first day when movers arrived to pack up these worries were alleviated. The consideration and overall friendliness of the movers was apparent and really made this a smooth transition for us. Everything was on time and on-budget, major love and support!

*SCAMMERS* Avoid at all costs.

These guys are classic bait-and-switch scam artists. I hate to admit that they really sold me. They will say anything you want to hear to earn your business, then turn it around when it comes time to deliver. Bobby knew that I needed my items the same day and told me that he would make it happen. I gave him a list of items, and then went over it again with Joseph. I told him that I was concerned they would double the price as I've heard from so many others, and he said that they pad the estimate so it doesn't happen. I said 'let's just say 30 boxes to be safe' and he says again '25 is fine, we pad the estimate.' I made sure I kept to the inventory list because I was scared it would go over. The quote went from an initial $1200 to $2300, so I was happy that I meticulously went over every single thing that would get loaded. Jospeh even assured me that I'd get money back because of this so-called padding. I get a call the day before saying they'd come between 12:00-2:00 and call me 30 minutes before. At 1:30 I didn't hear from anyone, I called customer service and they said they would try to get a hold of them. At 2:00 I still hadn't heard anything and I call again. They say the dispatch manager would call. Never did. I asked them to cancel because they wouldn't make it time to deliver the same day.. then I find out that they were going to deliver in 3 days. No one told me anything differently about this, but they insist that I signed the contract (one that I never received a hard copy of, and the link expires the day of move!) and agreed to everything. Finally they come at 4:30 and finish loading the truck. The driver never told me what the final price was, so I assumed that if he was loading the truck, it was at the estimate. WRONG. After he loads up, he comes to me with an invoice on a piece of broken off cardboard and tells me it is now $4,300! When I packed no more than my estimate list! I figured if I paid in credit card I could handle it later, but then he said I could only pay cash or money order. He told me to sign a document I didn't want to sign that agreed to that. I said no way do I have the cash for $2,000 OVER my estimate (one that I abided by very carefully), and that he needs to unload the truck and shouldn't have loaded it without telling me all of this. Then he promises me that we can pay credit card. WRONG. After I have to sleep on an air mattress and expect them at 8:00am, the driver tells me they can't deliver until 2:00.. And of course they only show up until 5:00pm. Oh, also, they charge you if you make them wait, but they are happy to keep you waiting all day while they pick up other people's things in the middle. In between, the driver threatens that I better have his cash otherwise he won't deliver. What in the actual.. And he said that Cross Country Movers lie all the time and they say anything they want and that he has to come in with the truth. But the truth they all work together so they can blame each other for all the short-comings. I had to borrow $2,000 cash because I didn't have it..And rushed to get back in time for 2:00 because get this--they charge you if you're late, but of course they only show up at 5:30. This would have been a $225 late penalty if you were that late. Their customer service, Annie and Stephen, both hate their jobs because they deal with legitimate complaints all day, and therefore provide zero service. They only say that I had a "great" move and that I should be happy. It's my fault that I took what they said at face value and that 1) I should have read the contract, 2) I should have called the cops on the carrier, 3) they're 'just a broker' and that they aren't responsible for anything. If you read all the positive reviews, you'll notice they all sound the same. They create new reviews every day to offset these legitimate reviews. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They lie and lie just to keep the job going before they take your hard-earned money (cash!) from you. Oh, this doesn't even cover the actual moving service. They wrapped only some of my furniture, as a result the ones unwrapped are chipped and/or broken. One of the movers took a huge dump in my toilet and clogged it. I can't make this up. Also, I saw the way they pack their truck--I should have taken a photo of it. It was like a jigsaw puzzle and they broke someone else's belongings--thankfully not mine, but that person is upset somewhere out there. It was terrible service all the way around. I should have just rented the Uhaul like I told Bobby.. but that's how he knew how to sell me. Please, please stay away and save your peace of mind. This company is terrible and they will probably continue to get away with it. It makes me lose my faith in humanity when I think about Bobby, Joseph, Stephen, Annie, and Mario the driver. All blame shifters, all terrible people for continuing to ruin lives.
