Long-distance move from San Antonio, TX to Haughton, LA

Moving Texas to Louisiana.

The company was horrible to deal with, constantly hanging up the phone on me when I tried to figure out what was going on. Initial quote was $2795, when they did final inventory prior to pick up they kept telling me to overstate so I won't have extra charges on there at the end ((5712 final). Revised the inventory 6 days prior, sent email, acknowledged and was sent to customer service to get new estimate, never got it. Packing day, guy said I pay the contract or they won't pack so I paid another 1/3. Was told final price was based on space used; however, upon delivery they collected the balance of the $5700, came on a 26ft Penske truck with 3 other peoples stuff. Furniture damages because not all furniture was wrapped in padded quilts, in fact only saran wrap, mattress just on the truck with no protection, so was my new couch cushion just stuffed in there. Tried calling several times because I don't think I even moved 2000lbs or maybe 500 c.f. but definitely not 6000 lbs. Only used 4 of their boxes but charged for 18 additional, 10 large boxes which I didn't have. I even have confirmation that my stuff was send to customer service to revise but nothing. they take you for your money and my furniture, some of it brand new was damaged. Yet to see what they will compensate for the damage. The personnel that packed were okay but told me my stuff would be redone at the warehouse, that was a lie. Never use them, they steal from you, lie to you, refuse to work out the issues. I didn't even move everything on my original inventory. They will deceive you. Can't talk to a manager because the ones answering the phones tell me their managers but they are QA. When I asked the delivery guys how much space I used they couldn't tell me, referred me back to the contractor. There is a federal agency that you can file a complaint to as well. My move was roughly 414 miles, and I requested deliver on 17 Jun but my stuff showed up on the 26th, must have traveled all over the place.

Low ball estimate and hideously rude!

This company contacted me after an online inquiry I made for a moving estimate. They completely low balled the estimate just to secure the job and did not have quality assurance contact us as stated to review inventory and avoid this issue. When the driver arrived, the first thing he said was "it will cost double what they told you". We are on a limited budget, moving our of our own pocket so I told them we could not proceed. The driver then told us our deposit would be returned. The company not only refused to return our deposit, but the quality control person was quite derogatory when I tried to explain my situation. We are recovering from an auto accident that almost killed us and he referred it it as "a sob story". I suffer from PTSD and extreme anxiety as it is and the rudeness, as well as their failure to properly communicate and the fraudulent estimate makes me want to warn everyone!

Official company response

Hello Mrs long I am sorry if you had issues with our company. I took the time to look into your file and It seems you called in to change your inventory and during that time you wanted to add services. When you added these services the price had gone up and you canceled your order. Due to reservations you made we can not refund the deposit however we did let you know you did not have to upgrade the service and can still use the services we quoted you when you first booked with us and the price would not change.

Outstanding company.

It was my first time using a full service moving company and I didn't really know how this worked, and when I read some of the experiences others had (moving fraud, hostage moves) I could help but feel scared and as if I would be blindly walking into a scam. After talking to the guys over at Connected Van lines, I felt a lot more comfortable, and knew what to expect from any legitimate company. Needless to say, my move was definitely not a $1000 or less, but compared to some of the more well known companies, such as allied, united, mayflower, I can definitely say I got a good deal without sacrificing quality. Their movers showed up on time, ready to work, were polite, and didn't try to rip more money out of my pockets. They arrived to the house I was moving to as projected, with all of my furniture in one piece. Needles to say, if you're looking for a QUALITY moving company, you definitely have one here. Same quality as bigger, better known companies, without the name brand price. Would recommend.

Terrible Service and Damaged Furniture.

This company appears fraudulent. Tells you what you want to hear and takes your deposit. Does not provide follow-up or support. Furniture damaged.
I had other companies warn me about using broker company Connected Van Lines. They tell you what they think you want to hear, start estimate low and then raise it as "worst case scenario and leave it at the discretion of the assigned movers during the move. After they take your deposit, which is half of the estimate, they basically disappear or act disgusted if you require further assistance. My furniture was picked up in a trailer, not a professional moving van. They did not have experience with certain items as promised and threw items on the truck. The quality assurance adviser became irritated when I asked for assistance. The trailer then broke down before delivery and furniture was piled one on top of another on a rented Enterprise truck with different drivers and a day late. There was a huge language barrier with drivers and was there was as much damage during some assembly as unloading off the Enterprise truck. The response from Connected is "we will drop the moving company if they do not do a good job, however , that does absolutely no good for the customer in the current move, left with damaged goods and little to no consideration or assistance. No one called to advise, give schedule changes and representatives became rude and or unresponsive during the course of the move. I had two dressers delivered and both were damaged. Wheels on chairs were broken or missing. Assembly of some furniture was damaged because they did not use blankets underneath. I have yet to try out the expensive exercise equipment they were trying to jam through the door and base of one side cracked. They did not provide the professional assistance discussed prior to deposit and contract of the move. I am sure there will be more damage when opening boxes. The bottom line is this is a terrible brokerage moving company that will take your money (deposit) and then provide little "quality assurance" for the move. I have moved 4 times and this is by far the worst experience I have ever had. Now that I am requesting to file claims CSI - Customer Service Dept. returned my initial request telling me they do not deal with the moving company that Connected used to move my furniture. In the end I paid almost $1,000 more than my original estimate and have damaged furniture.

Beware.

I called this company and Orlando was so pleasant and polite, and really wanted to help me with my move. They are a broker and really do not honor the agreement. They schedule the movers to pick up my furniture and they were on time and that is where my nightmare started with this company. I was told by Victoria

To have a certified check for $1421.00 for the driver and I did have a check for that amount, I had already paid $2089.86 before my household goods were transported to Arizona. The driver told me he needed more money..I called Connected Van Lines and the nightmare continued with Victoria and Adam. I had previously put a review up regarding the unprofessional customer service and how they continued to increase the cost of their services. Victoria told me if I took down the review they would honor the original contract of $4931.58, so at the time of delivery I would only owe $1421.00.

The driver did not even take all my household goods that were on my inventory list and I have the inventory and pictures of belongings he didn't transport to Arizona. I should have known when he came in a Enterprise rented truck I was in trouble, I had a job waiting for me in Arizona, needed to get out of my house I sold and had not given $2089.86 already would have cancelled CONNECTED VAN LINES. I had to rent a U haul 6x12 at an additional cost to me. Victoria is a gem..she was going to get additional monies taken off because I had to rent a U haul.

IT NEVER HAPPENED..I PAID more MONEY when my furniture was delivered or they were going to hold it hostage. NEA VANLINES LLC picked up my household goods however SOUTHERN VAN LINES delivered my household goods. I had to even purchase a special box for a stand up large mirror..IT WAS IN PIECES WHEN DELIVERED. My furniture left wrapped and came to be unwrapped, including my mattresses which were in cases. Boxes were torn and broken down. My wine glasses that were given to me by my husband as a gift from Italy for being gone a year during Desert Storm, broken..I can't replace the glasses and I'm almost sure I won't get much for there breakage of my wine glasses and other items, too long to list. I had my belongings delivered to storage until I get my house and the driver of SOUTHERN VAN LINES could not even drive the semi, I was told to get a different storage unit so he could deliver my furniture, he didn't know how to drive a semi..The storage managers had to come down to my unit because he was being irrational to me. I have been threatened by Connected Van Lines, YELLED at by NEA VANLINES LLC and told by the driver of Southern VAN Lines he could sell my housegoods because I had nice stuff..and I have a witness who heard this man say this to me. I have every email with Connected Van Lines, voice mail from Victoria screaming at me and pictures of everything left behind for me to move.

My EXPERIENCE WAS MORE THAT A NIGHTMARE!!

BEWARE.

Terrible Company.

Before I signed a contract with Connected Van Lines, they informed me that they typically deliver items 4-7 days after pickup. When pickup day arrived (5/23), the movers from American Home Relocations had us select which day we wanted our items delivered. We selected 5/27. They also charged us an addition $871 for alledgely going over the original cubic feet. When 5/27 came and went, I called Connected Van Lines and spoke to Victoria, and she informed me that the movers should not have told me that my items would be delivered on this day, rather this was the day they start preparing the manifest. I called after a week (6/3) had passed, and the manifest was still not prepared. I was informed it would be prepared at the end of that week. I called again on June 5th, and was informed by Rachel that the riots in Atlanta are preventing my items from leaving the city. We were informed that the company had until June 10th to deliver our items, or pay a late delivery spread fee. When wednesday came, we were informed by Victoria that we would not be receiving our items on Wednesday, but that the truck was leaving that afternoon. When we called on Thursday (6/11) to make sure the truck left, we were informed by Rachel that the truck left on wednesday, and we will be receiving a call from the driver. On friday June 12th, we called dispatch at American Home Relocations and they informed us that our truck did not leave on wednesday and it was sitting in the lot. I called And emailed Connected Van Lines to discuss this mis-information and never received a call back. At 4:19pm, I called Connected Van Lines, and spoke to Adam. He stated that my manifest was still being built, and that he had no other update than that. I asked him about the discount, and he stated that the moving company has 21 days to deliver our items before a $25 fee is applied for every day they are late. We told him that Victoria told me that we would have a discount after June 10th, and he stated that was incorrect information. On wednesday 6/17, we were informed by Heather and Nick at AJ Pro Logistics that our items will be delivered the next day, but that our items were on a truck that could not fit through my complex. They made this determination after looking at pictures of our complex online. We we told that we could rent a uhaul and unload our items ourselves for free, pay $1000 to have them transport our items into a smaller truck and then deliver them to our home, or have our items sent to Chicago and sit in a warehouse. When Nick arrived to deliver our items, the truck was stuffed and poorly packed. We had a storage container with the top missing, and another persons items taped inside the container. So far, we have 2 broken mirrors, a couch with black stains on it, 2 dressers with chipped wood and loose handles, a bed that cannot be put together because a piece is now missing due to the many handlings of my items, a washing machine with a missing leg, and a dryer with a broken knob. They did not fully explain how the shipping delivery dates worked, and became non-responsive and unprofessional after pickup. Rachel and Victoria had unprofessional attitudes when we called and inquired about our shipping status, and talked over us while we were trying to air our concerns. Adam did not return my calls to discuss the delivers attempting to charge us more or a reimbursement. Connected Van Lines contracted the move to American Home Relocation, and American Home Relocation contracted the delivery out to AJ Pro Logistics. When it was all done and said 3 different companies were dealt with to pack and deliver my property. They state that they are here to work for you, but they lie to get your business. They assured me they were working on my behalf and would be available if any issues occurred during this process, but were unresponsive when AJ Pro Logistics asked for more money. This company has terrible communicators and is constantly being "mis-informed" by dispatch.

Office relocation.

Connected Van Lines did a terrific job for us. We relocated all our office equipment and furniture. The price was competitive, the gentleman I talked to in obtaining the quote was very courteous, accurate and to the point. We got all our computers, scanners, copy machines, monitors ..the whole office. Everything went off with no problem.
if we ever move again, I will certainly look them up.

Don't use. Read the contract.

I recently booked a move with Connected Van Lines. I gave the list of items for the move to the broker/salesman and he came up with an estimated square footage and a price that was in our budget. He also guaranteed a 7 day pick up to delivery time. The movers showed and said "Oh no, they way under estimated the square footage you will need" and doubled the price from $5300 to $10,500. We cancelled the movers because we were not accepting such a price increase. When I called for a refund of my $1700 deposit, they all but laughed at me and said "you should have read the contract more carefully". Also the movers said the move would take up to 30 days to complete. They said no way it would be done in 7 days. The salesmen will make promises and will under estimate your square footage need to make the price look good. Once you sign the contract and pay the deposit, the only way to get your money back is to cancel the move within 72 hours of booking it and even then you lose 10% to fees. I learned an expensive lesson. Read the contract completely before signing and paying deposit.

Great Job.

I was completely overwhelmed when it came to my move. But one of the first people I spoke with was Cameron with Connected Van Lines. He told me what to do and what to expect. I felt much better using them compared to all the other companies I spoke with, which was about 20 different companies that called. I did have a few more items then we expected so before the move I had a call from Quality Assurance to go over my inventory again. Once we were done the price went up slightly not much at all but I felt good. The movers showed up and they were very professional and nice. They did everything including all packing and delivered our stuff quickly. I couldn't have had a more simple and easier moving process and I give them 5 stars for a job well done. 5 stars all the way.

Skilled professionals.

I told cody I would leave a review and refer my friends if the move went well so I will give my honest feedback as promised. The movers that showed were very nice and happy to be as accommodating as possible. They loaded everything in pretty good time giving the amount of stuff I have accumulated over 35 year's living in the same location. I did need a large tv packaged and I was actually impressed with the level of skill the Packers had w

Wrapping it up with cardboard boxes and building a box for it. Cody let me know since I was going 1200 miles it's can take up to 2 weeks so I prepared for that amount of time. My furniture came in just over a week and delivey was nice. Even though I had two stairs leading to my entry way they waived the fee. I would say it was a good decision as the experience was good and I saved a few hundred dollars.

Moving Done Easy!

I set up a move from TX to FL with Thomas and this company and they were great. Someone was there to assist me with all of my concerns (keep in mind that moving from 1 state to another is hard enough) but the movers packed and loaded my things with care and were on time to pick up and deliver my things. The price was great and people with this company are great! Highly recommended!!

Unacceptable!!

They weren't expecting me to empty unit so quick. It took 45 min to pry door open. I called to file a complaint with John, the office manager. As I finished explaining my losses, he said

"I'm going to lawyer up". I was shocked, since I was the one complaining. I never received an apology or compensation. In addition, I have to pay $800 for a new storage unit door that they jammed up. Company denies any responsibility . What really shocks me is the owner, Shimone, was part of the moving crew. He allowed for my belongings to be tossed around. For all I know he did the tossing.

Horrible Experience--Fake Reviews! Don't trust the ratings.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! MOST OF THE REVIEWS ARE FAKE.

Pickup was relatively quick, though they were a FULL day late getting there Sunday night at 730pm (they were originally supposed to be there Saturday between 4 and 6pm, then supposedly confirmed for Sunday between 2

And 4pm). The movers were incredibly slow so the two of us helped load everything and finished around 1030pm.

The bigger problem is you'll never get your stuff back. I requested drop off May 19 and I'm still getting the run around. The only benefit is they've taught me that I don't need my stuff to be comfortable since I've gone without for so Iong.

After leaving this ^^ review, Rachel told me she could no longer work with me because of my negative review, per her boss. Not surprisingly, everything Connected Van Lines told me was inaccurate. They supposedly had confirmation that my items were on a truck headed my way on June 17. After speaking with the moving company directly, Connected Van Lines markets themselves as movers but they're brokers, I learned the truck ACTUALLY left 6/24. My items were finally delivered on June 26. I've filed a complaint with the BBB which I'm sure Rachel and her boss will likely ignore. Clearly they didn't uphold our contract as they were so incapable that they couldn't even organize drop off of my items after a month of trying.

Long-distance move from Silver Spring, MD to San Jose, CA

Don't book this company! Save your time and money and drive it yoursel.

There are so many things wrong with my experience with this company that its hard to summarize. I give them two stars only because I ultimately received my items… although it took months, lots of unanswered phone calls, lies about the whereabout of my items and a $700 increase to my original price. Do yourself a favor and use a better company or take your items yourself. It took me almost two months to get my stuff and the problems started well before COVID19 so they can’t use that as an excuse for trash service. My move was from DC to CA.

You should know first and firstmost that this company is a broker company. They are not the ones actually moving your items and frankly, as I’ve learned they don’t give two sh*ts about you or your items, just as long as they get the payment. The troubles with my order started with a familiar name amongst the rest of the reviews I see online, Kristopher. In my check up call Kris informed me that a few changes to my items in lieu of other items would be okay. For example, more larger boxes instead of fewer medium boxes etc. Kris assured that changes like this would be okay and there would be no issue. This was not the case when the movers showed up. In addition the Movers (NEA Vanlines) also informed me that my bed did not include my bed frame. This is some that everyone I spoke to at the company (Mike Anthony, Josh, Kris) informed me that was included. I called the customer service line (it was 7pm at the time of pickup) and I was shocked to hear this and that it would cause my price to go up significantly, I was told by Victoria that since the movers were there I had to do and pay what they say. And that it would be sorted out later… It never was.

The pickup (NEA Vanlines) was awful and the wait made the experience incredibly worst. After storing my items in storage for one month I called them on 2/29 to let them know the address to deliver. Three days later I was told my items are on a truck and would be delivered within the week. Two days later I called back to get the delivery time and was told they didn’t know where my stuff was. Turns out my items never left the storage unit and was still in New Jersey! And they apologized and told me they confused my order with someone else’s. For weeks, and I emphasize that it took weeks, I had to call everyday to see if there was any update on where my items were and I was given “We don’t know”s and “You should just wait and we’ll call you when we have an update”. Mind you I was without a bed clothes etc for 6 weeks! My belongings didn’t arrive in California until Mid April. The drop off movers were not the same movers from the pick up (Thank God) and they were nicer and admitted that they took time off due to the pandemic. But that should have been communicated through the mover company broker or me. They protected themselves in their contract by saying that a late fee is deducted if the items are late 30 business days… which they were only 2 days away from.

My headboard was damaged but honestly I’m so done with this company that I’m not going to even go through the claims process. Please Please Please don’t use this company. Save yourself the worry.

Carmen (or Karen) is the only person that showed compassion and tried to locate my items.

Terrible.

TERRIBLE. Almost a month after my belongings are packed they are finally delivered. After months of lies and conflicting stories from Veronica, Rachel, and other employees. The day my belongings arrived the drivers tried to coerce me to personally pay them $1000 or they won’t deliver my belongings to my building. Boxes came openend with other people’s belongings mixed with mine. Drivers said we shouldn’t be upset with them because they were just hired off of craigslist! In case you were wondering here is the current list of belongings damaged: 2 shattered mirrors, couch with stains, 2 dressers with chipped wood and loose handles, 1 bed that can’t be put together because the movers lost some pieces. Don’t waste your time with this joke of a company. Drivers themselves even said they heard terrible things about connected van lines. Be weary of the good reviews, who knows if they’re real.

Worst moving experience ever!

I am visually impaired and therefore have no choice but to use a moving company. At every point of the transaction was lied to. First estimate was $1900.00 given the date I needed my possessions they gave me a pick up date. Took 3 weeks before they arrived and would have been longer if I had not mentioned the state closing soon for the CORVID outbreak. TV was scratched all up. Desk broken and unfixable (welding is not my thing). Several other items damaged and a missing bag of clothing. During the process I contacted them and their contracted moving company. No one told me they did not do the moving themselves they hired other moving companies a brokerage of sorts. On each contact they raised the price even when I removed several large items to reduce the price they increased it. When all was said and done what was loaded was half of the size and more than double the price 4,700.00 for a single bedroom apartment move. Once they have your stuff you are screwed and they will increase the cost even though they aren't really allowed but if you want your stuff what other option do you have especially with a nationwide lockdown. Spoke to several managers and supervisors which most cases were different. Sent many emails and saved them. Recommended for anyone that likes being screwed over or scammed heavily.

Worst Movers- DO NOT CHOOSE Connected Van Lines EVER.

Actual moving cost is double of the quoted amount. For everything they have a hidden charge. Their staff, Orlando gave us the initial quote. After got the money from us, we couldn't get hold of him. He didn't pick the call at all. when the movers charged additional fees for everything during pickup and delivery , we called the office and they respond "why are you calling us now, we are not responsible". We lost almost $1500 with them. Don't ever trust them. I don't want to give a star also. As I need to give a rating to post this, am selecting a star.

Connected van lines is a moving scam.

Never use Connected Van Lines which is a moving scam. It is not a real moving company but sub-contracted scam. Their door-to-door moving service is a fraud. They cheat you for cheap initial quotation and the actual bill may be 4-5 times of the original price. There isn't any Connected Van Lines truck but subcontracted mover came. They will charge you all the packing materials if you don't pack your stuff in boxes. I was cheated by them when relocating from Laredo, Texas to Bradford, Pennsylvania in May 2020. They asked for extra $700 cash before they load your stuff, and they over-charged the shipping volume by not stacking your stuff properly. They took more than 4 weeks to move my stuff to Pennsylvania from Texas. They lost my big TV, damaged several plastic containers with some pots insides, opened one of the box and lost several items inside. They delivered several items which are not belonged to me, which I returned to them right away. They still haven't compensated anything so far.
