Totally unprofessional. Do not understand the word "good service" Do not appear to understand that they have to be punctual. Not 24 hours late with no explanation! We have moved 14 times since 1980. This experience was without doubt the very worst of our lives. They failed to arrive on the appointed day. They failed to keep us advised that they would be unable to move us. They failed to explain why they were unable to move us that day. They fail to appreciate that when one moves it is often because you have sold your home. We never move on the day we are due to complete a sale in case there are delays. In this case the delays were two days. You are under an obligation to vacate the property prior to settlement. we later learned that their employees worked until 1 am the night of our move! They simply take on more work than they can cope with. They assured us that we would be the first job the following day. Their truck went to the destination address instead of the pick up address. They arrived at 11 am. We were obliged to move our completion on a sale and a purchase from 11 am to 2.30 pm. The second deadline was therefore 2 pm. To achieve that we both had to help carry furniture into the hallway and help with the packing. I had warned them in an email the day before that moving us on the following day had to be in the morning as our storage facility closes every Wednesday afternoon. They finished the job at 3 pm. Too late to get to Blacktown from Darlinghurst by 1.30 pm. Our inconvenience was rewarded with an invoice for an additional $451 for overnight storage at their facility and extra hours required to deliver our goods two days late! They refused to unload our goods if we did not pay On the advice of NSW Fair Trading I warned them that it was illegal to hold on to our goods and that I was going to report them to Blacktown Police. That worked! They eventually unloaded and left, They are still chasing the extra payment. It took a lot of energy to get an invoice from them! I gave them one star as I was unable to give them a MINUS STAR review. Their manner of dealing with an issue that is entirely of their own making is to claim that you are at fault. Do not on any account consign your goods to this company., Their packing skills are also very, very questionable. Despite having provided them with an inventory their movers did not have an inventory. There is therefore nothing to confirm what they have taken on board their truck. We moved a 1 bedroom apartment. Service cost paid $855 Plus the extra which I absolutely refuse to pay. They are known to AFRA who have received numerous complaints.
I wasn't going to leave a review but after the appalling customer service I have no choice. I DO NOT recommend using this company. Firstly they overcharged me. When questioned they first told me it was due to a stairs fee (I have a lift). They then sent me the invoice which had no stairs fee but charged me 30 minutes longer and a trolley fee (not on the original quote and you'd think a trolley was a given for a moving company??).
They also damaged the walls due to negligence and laziness, attempting to drag something too wide down the hallway that easily could have been turned sideways. By the time i witnessed what this removalist was doing instead of waiting for the other one to come up and help the damage was done.
Customer support has failed to offer any assistance with the repairs even though its in their policy. They also have refused to correct the overcharge. I am now forced to go to consumer affairs.
I hired CBD to move the contents of my small 2 bed apartment, to an apartment, within the same complex. No vehicles were required, simply moving items from one lift to another, across a basement carpark. I highlighted this to the company (and yet they charged me for a 4.5 tonne truck)
They did not effectively load the trolleys, (only 1 item on the trolley, did not load multiple items or fill up the trolley or lift, eg filling the gap under a table with boxes, when safe to do so). A friend and I ended up having to help and used my own trolley to load multiple items (to demonstrate), and they still only loaded their trolleys with minimal items, & threated to walk off the job. My friend and I then started filling the lifts, and they grudgingly towards the end, started to help load/unload. Out of frustration, I loaded my own trolley to brim with boxes and items, even at 5"2, pushing a trolley on , I moved swifter than the "professionals". Unsurprisingly, 4 hours later the job was not complete. I called & emailed CBD movers, during the job to highlight my concerns. I tried to take photos of the ineffectual trolley loading, and the staff threated to walk off. Later the "mediation" team of CBD asked for video footage of their staff being lazy & asked why I didn’t highlight the issues during the move! They also highlighted that the move took so long because the distance between lifts was 200m hence the delays. We measured it. Circa 70 paces/circa 35m. Horrendous service, horrendous mediation, and linked to CBD movers. Another scam company. Beware.
2. The expect a cash payment on completion. I needed an invoice to be raised through the account team, and account team they increased the hours and amount. they called me 6am - 10pm harassing me for an extra payment.
3. None of the movers could speak English.
4. They damaged my tv unit and they are not going to take a responsibility to fix my tv unit and i am taken legal action.
Tried to buy my silence after I was threatened by 4 men
My previous review described a horror moving weekend, with stalling tactics, extra charges and my son’s hospital bed and wheelchair being held hostage on the CBD truck unless I paid extra money.
You will read that I was threatened, stood over and intimidated by 4 CBD movers. It was only the neighbours threats of police that got them to back off.
Fast forward to this week.. after posting a bad review, I have been called everyday, sometimes twice a day by CBD movers, suggesting they want to talk about what happened, but never take responsibility for the threats and intimidation. The conversations seem scripted and lack sincerity.
Last night I received a call suggesting I would be given a $100 refund (my total job was close to $1400!) if I changed my review to 4 stars and told the general public that CBD movers rectified my issues.
I will not lie for $100! I will gladly accept a refund, but not at the cost of my integrity! Accepting the refund means that I as long have to sign a waiver that closes my complaint. In my mind all the money in the world will not take away what happened to me. I cry every time I think about my experience of intimidation, and now the daily calls are bordering on harassment.
Here is copy of email I received yesterday:
“ As discussed over the call we would request you to kindly update the feedback upto four stars after we initiate the refund and share the refund receipt.
As an apology gesture, the Management has decided to approve a refund you $100 to resolve this matter.”
Booked in a job, they came and left again without a single explanation. Rebooked for the next day and the same thing happened. We were told all different types of excuses; one of the guys was feeling sick, we don’t want to deal with stairs, it’s raining, one of the guys is too inexperienced etc etc.
they are dishonest and deceitful. Still waiting for a refund. Who the hell shows up to do a move and then just leaves? Without saying anything at the time? It’s just weird. A really weird business.
A small 2 bedroom apartment move took them 8 hours. The workers were on go-slow mode the entire day. It took them 90 minutes to make a 25 minute trip across town. Where that missing hour went, I don’t know, but they charged me for it. The workers regularly disappeared into their truck and sat down playing on their phones. They generally didn’t use trolleys and instead carried light items (eg. bedside table drawers) one by one at a snail’s pace.
I am a seasoned home mover and these guys were the worst I've ever seen. Very slow, lacked initiative in terms of moving large items through appropriate doorways etc. Threatened to call off the job when I questioned the pace they were working at and later claimed I had been abusive and threatening, then last of all damaged my leather lounge by putting a hole in the leather which they refused to accept liability for. We had a 4 hr slot booked from 10am-2pm on 01/09/2023. The 2 men rocked up 5mins late and proceeded to assess the furniture. From the minute they started loading, we knew we would have issues. One of the contractors constantly taking phone calls, making the move take longer. They proceeded with loading items in a weird order and ended up needing 2 trips and they failed to take the most important items in the house on the truck, no skill whatsoever! Once at our new premises, they unloaded boxes, stacking FRAGILE listed boxes upside down and other heavy boxes on top. They broke 3 item or furniture, most importantly being the dining table, in which 2 of the legs were snapped off and is now unusable, we even have a part of one of the movers in a photo with the damage! This damage was reported to the movers at the time and they took photos and tried to fix, unsuccessfully! The office rang just before they closed the office, asking about moving a pool table which was not moved at the time, in this phone call i started to explain the dissatisfaction, please note we hadn't even known of the damaged items yet as they hadn't shown up yet to unload, the person i spoke to advised of the complaint email "support@cbdmovers..." and when I explained that I would be making a bad review, he asked me to email and not put the bad review, I advised that no, I will not just excuse this and will be putting a bad review in, and the guy on the phone sounded very concerned. Once the damage was noticed and reported, I proceeded to make a complaint on 05/09/2023, the reply email sent to me once "investigated" is appalling! They have not taken any chance to reconsile the issues, only acknowledge it. They had apparently asked the contractors in which the contractors have lied and said there was no damage and no reporting done. I explicitly made sure to state to both movers of the dissatisfaction at the time but was threatened that if we didnt pay, they wouldnt unload. The movers were on the job from 10am-9.30pm!!! That was well over $2000! The way they word pricing is stupid too, you will pay $160 per hour! To boot, the website for complaints does not allow for details information either. Just an excuse not to make proper claims! Horrific service and company... I repeat, DO NOT USE !!!!!!
