Cardinal Moving Unprofessional Service

They showed up moving day with two trucks and four guys. Within 5 minutes the foreman said he needed to take one of the trucks back for a replacement due to issues with it. That left 3 guys at my house who didn’t know what they were doing. I advised them to start down stairs with all of the boxes. The foreman returned about an hour later. At some point he told us that they would need a third truck and two more guys. We signed off on it because we needed to be out of the house by 2:00, needless to say that never happened. My partner and I had to leave to do the closing on the new house. My sister was there to supervise and finish some packing on the second floor. We were gone roughly two hours. When we came back the house was a disaster. She couldn’t watch them constantly, they were supposed to be professionals and actually know what they were doing but obviously not the case. My sister caught one of the guys a few times going through some personal items. To be specific, he had zeroed in on some designer items that were left out specifically for me to take in my car and not be on a moving truck. I had left out on a shelf in the walk in closet, a Gucci backpack, belt and a Louis Vuitton duffle bag. They were in their white dust bags. When I got back from closing and went upstairs to finish up and gather things to go in my car, they were gone. I second guessed myself and thought, maybe I did pack them. I couldn’t double check because they had already taken boxes from that room only already to the truck. Even though they had not finished with everything downstairs. Cardinal also told us that we did not need to remove anything from the dressers, that they could wrap them shut and they would be ok to move. I discovered the next day at the new house that my brand new prescription glasses in Prada frames missing along with a pair of Gucci sunglasses that are irreplaceable. They were in the top dresser drawer in the dressing room/walk-in closet. Someone obviously had went through my things. There were 6 men, strangers in my house and realistically we couldn’t monitor them at all times. When I say they were unorganized and made a huge mess, it’s an understatement. The new owners had went by the house after their closing. They called us with concerns because the house was so torn up and stuff was just chaotically strewn everywhere. The move was supposed to be under 6 hours. 12 hours later they rolled out with their 3 trucks to take our stuff to the new house. I was still left with a huge mess and more things to move. I had went down to the basement and realized there was a cabinet that I had forgotten to empty out and pack. Instead of coming to any one of us, the movers just decided to throw everything in the middle of the room on the floor. I was not happy when I saw that. I found several broken vases in a pile by the washing machine, they covered them with a towel.

I had to get a U-Haul to finish the move myself.

The move with Cardinal ended up costing us a little over 7 thousand dollars and they had broken so many things and were super unorganized and lacked any professionalism. I reached out to customer service about the missing items and broken articles. He insisted that they sweep their trucks and make sure nothing is left behind and that GPS shows trucks never left their route. I told him that means absolutely nothing and things can easily be taken and easily transferred without his knowledge or anyone else in management. Here’s why I say that, at some point during the unloading of our stuff at the new house. I see one of the movers carrying in some night stands that I absolute knew were not ours. I then hear another mover say, “hold on, those are mine from another move. The couple didn’t want them and I needed some for my place, put them back on truck”

Trust is everything and Cardinal Movers and their team has violated ours in more ways than one. I had reached out to our insurance company about what had happened, they said unfortunately it happens and has actually happened to them. They advised us to continue unpacking and make sure the items in question didn’t get shoved into boxes and press Cardinal a little more about the missing designer goods before filing any claims. The missing items would be in the ballpark of 8 Thousand to replace if at all possible to do so.

We never found the missing items and I’m beyond certain that I didn’t pack the bags. I didn’t want them smashed up in a box.

Anyone reading this, just know that you’ll need to monitor and supervise the entire time and don’t sign off on their insurance. It is a total rip off. You will never get anything near the value of any damaged item and you will get nothing for anything lost or stolen. It’s basically your word against theirs.

Best Moving Experience Ever!

I rarely post reviews but wow! What a great decision to use Cardinal Moving. Usually I get buddies to help me move and it takes ALL day, and still costs me at least $150 for the U-Haul truck plus gas but I couldn't this time with the Covid restrictions. Cody H. and Griffin C. got the move done in 2.5 hours flat! The move was well coordinated and communicated from the office, and Cody and Griffin arrived on the early side of the window. They were super-professional but friendly, and these dudes HAULED! Nothing was damaged, and they were done in record time. I couldn't believe how fast they were.

I highly recommend Cardinal Moving. For the few extra bucks over renting a truck yourself, paying for gas etc. it's a no-brainer.

It was worth every penny to me. (And tip your team when they do a good job!)

Thanks guys. I'm very impressed with such a well-run business.

Idk how they have good reviews

I’m still waiting for someone to show up. No call nothing just left with a whole house of stuff they were suppose to help with….worst experience ever! I even talked to them TODAY and they said they were coming! The wait window was 5 hrs! Of that the office is closed the last two hours in that window. So I have NO ONE to reach out too! We are a military family on orders that have tight timelines and to be stood up when I thought I booked a reliable company is terrible! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY

Don't Sign The Damage Waiver

Cardinal damaged two French door refrigerators during the moving process, as well as damaging drywall on a staircase. The two Cardinal employees assured me that Cardinal would take care of the damage. After moving for 12 hours, I signed their paperwork without reading the fine print. When I reached out to Cardinal and initiated the damage claims process, they waited a week to inform me based on pictures that the damage to the fridge could not be repaired. They mailed me a check for $120, pointing out that the contractual agreement entitled me to a maximum of $60 per damaged item. Meanwhile, appliance repair companies informed me that parts were unavailable for one (which we had to compensate the buyers of our old home for) and the other fridge would require two new door panels which would cost me $1600 (well over half the original cost of the fridge). While their customer service representative was courteous and showed me where I signed the agreement, I take issue with the fact that I signed it *after* being reassured by the movers that Cardinal would take care of the damage, with no mention of there being a flat fee per damaged item. Legally there's not much I can do, but offering me less than 1% of the cost of the damage on one of multiple damaged items is a meaningless gesture- not a genuine attempt at fair compensation. Cardinal is supposed to have customers sign the damage contract before moving begins. If the movers damage items and then ask you sign the contract after the fact as in my case, don't sign it. As far as communicating well, showing up on time, and the professionalism of the two movers themselves, I think Cardinal did just fine. It goes without saying though that what is legal is not always the same as what is right- and offering me $120 as compensation for $2000+ worth of damage is not what I consider good business.

WORST Moving Experience Ever.

Do not ever use Cardinal Movers. Moving from a 2 bedroom apartment, I was quoted 3-4 hours if they needed to tear down the furniture. I had everything disassembled, boxed up and ready to go except for a bed. It took them over 6.5 hours to complete everything with my wardrobe ending up getting destroyed and my bed being severely damaged and needing very significant repair. Considering they do this on a daily basis, I thought better planning would have been in order. Anthony the driver was instrumental in getting the truck packed well or it would have taken even longer. Conner, the rider was absolutely WORTHLESS, complaining every 15 mins, things were "too heavy", sorry i'm moving slow but i'm tired", "the company should have sent more guys for this", and so on for the entire time. I was understanding at first, but that turned into irritation quickly. The rates are good, but when the workers (Connor in particular) drag their feet, you might as well go with another company. I feel that if they sent Anthony H. with another competent worker it may have gone more smoothly as he worked hard. If Connor shows up to your site then I feel for you as you watch your money float away and your things possibly damaged.

Treadmill move

Kwayame, Malcolm and Tyon showed up bringing a new treadmill and removing an older treadmill. They had to break down the new treadmill and reassemble to get in downstairs. All the bolts and nuts had to come apart in order to get it downstairs. They never complained once and were very efficient and professional. They even accommodated our request to take the older treadmill and deliver to our neighbors who decided that they wanted it. Nothing but professionalism from all of them. Highly recommended.

Would not hire again

1) the men were polite, and accommodating to a point.

2) THE SLOWEST MOVERS.

I walked through everything. And then he walked through again with his helper.

One was young and had to be told what to do each step. It was one experienced one and a helper

Not two movers. It wasn't like a team working, moving along with any rather of movement.

I am asking for at least one hour refund from company.

3) wore a mask at greeting and the took it off. I asked him to wear a mask and he had to go get it out of thr tru c k. Mo a t of the dsy, did not wear one.

4) haphazardly put my TV on couch. Landed pictures on a box marked fragile. They were.more careful after i pointed it out..

Repeated as they went along things to take and still forgot 4 items.

5) they were moving my things to a storage unit. Terrible packing of unit. Wasted a lot if space.

6) they had the mattress standing tall rather on.its side and asked them to rearrange it and it was thr only time they responded with annoyance and haphazardly changed it. I finally told them . I would come back and do-it-myself later.

7) my bed is electric. : They packed the bed without the cord. And then left another part. Of it all together. AAndwhen.having most of the parts together didn't put them in anything. Didn't ask for bag or box. When I saw it. I put it all together in a bag .

The website states they have furnature repair. I called about a piece while the movers were there. Thr man didn't know the answers and said the supervisor was on the phone and he would ask him when he got off the phone. No one called me back.

+ they propped open the fence. They asked and that was fine but then left with it wide open.

+ they had two legs to the trip . They put furnature out in the driveway to pack when they got back. This was not good

They could put it right inside the gate since we would be gone a couple of hours. I asked them to do so and they did. .... but then left the gate open.when.they left. Yes, I closed it.

All in all not professional. Not careful.

Downsizing.

Sal and Dohnavan did a great job moving our furniture and boxes. They were punctual and took good care in moving our possessions. I was amazed at how fast they worked. We will definitely contact Cardinal again in the future.

Moving

Very nice guys! Did a great job moving all of my furniture.Theywrapped everything because it was raining the day of the move! Handled everything with care. The only problem I had was they started at 9 am worked for an hour to load the truck, and on the way to my new house they took over a 45 minute lunch break.
