Long-distance move from Winnipeg, MB to Toronto, ON

My move.

Thank you to Mark and his team. They came at the time they said. They worked carefully. They used clean and new materials for packaging. In particular, thanks to the disciplined work of the team, we have easily overcome a troubled process with their help. They showed that they were a very good company in both the packaging and transportation process and they resolved all our hesitations about moving.I highly recommend Canadian Reliable Van Lines to everyone.

Long-distance move from Thorold, ON to Edmonton, AB

Great pick up, not so great drop off.

Everything went great leading up to my moving date. The drivers were a little late, but not a big deal. They took their time and were very careful and professional wrapping and packing my stuff. They loaded their truck carefully and I had no worries or issues. When the drop off came, the guys were very obviously rushing and in a hurry. Every item they said would not fit in the room we asked them to put it in and they insisted to just leave it in my garage. When they asked for payment, I saw credit card was accepted on the contract, so I paid with that. However, when I got the receipt they charged my credit card more than the invoice says. I was told that there was a 3% fee when paying with credit card. This was the first I heard of it, and I would've paid with cash, cheque, e-transfer if I was told. When I called the office, they apologized but said "it's *just* $17" so I shouldn't worry about it and didn't offer to make things right even though no one told me about these extra fees until after. I even asked Mark when I booked what would increase the price, and he made no mention of these fees. Further, in the move they somehow managed to rip buttons off my microwave. So it was *just* $17, plus my microwave. That being said, everything except the microwave was in good condition and overall it was a good move. I wouldn't encourage anyone to avoid Canadian Reliable but be aware of their fees.

Long-distance move from Brantford, ON to Calgary, AB

Ontario to Alberta.

Moved my 88 years old aunt from Brantford to Calgary. She was to sell her stuff and I booked our flight for Tuesday. On Saturday the person who was to pickup the stuff called and said he did not want to pay. As there were some beautiful paintings and real wood furniture we called Mark that afternoon and arranged a Monday pickup. The guys came Monday afternoon and we were not ready the stuff was not packed. They provided the boxes and help us with the packing. We were on the 3rd floor and had not booked the elevator. Back in Calgary they called to firmed the delivery and the address as we were not sure were my aunt would be. All the paintings and furniture arrived in good condition and nothing was missing. We did not have the time to check the list of items and called the office, they said to email them what was missing and they would check the warehouse. Excellent work Mark and the whole team. Wonderful work. thank you very much.

Long-distance move from Regina, SK to Ottawa, ON

Saskatchewan to Ontario Move.

DO NOT use this company. They’re crooks.

Rude “moving consultants”, do not pickup or drop off when they say they will, speak to you like you’re an inconvenience when you call or email to inquire about your belongings. They charged me a week before my items arrived, without my authorization. (Items were ten days later than they told me they’d be, and no one could give me answers on my items’ transit status). Majority of my large furniture items are damaged. Used marker to write on bins and luggage and outdoor furniture.
Mark and Stephen are rude, and do not care about their clients. Once they take your money, they don’t care about anything else.

Extremely disappointed-will never, ever, use this company again, and will be sure to share this terrible review with anyone else who needs to move.

Local move from Mississauga, ON to Orillia, ON

Do yourself a favour and use someone else.

We hired Canadian Reliable Vanlines to move us from Mississauga to Orillia and store our furniture for 3 weeks. The quote was $3,050 the total ended up at $4650. Our furniture
arrived in Orillia damaged and dirty. The truck had not been cleaned from the previous move and it looked like drywall dust that was all over everything.

The guys who delivered it told us they would only bring in the large pieces of furniture. The rest they threw in the garage. Our bar fridge, freezer etc was all classified by them as small. By the time they left we could not even get into the garage. Boxes were upside down, bins were broken open - what a mess.

The movers were very rude and rough. They gouged our walls going up the stairs and did hundreds of damage to them. They had no idea how to maneuver furniture around railings or bends in stairs.I ended up with broker - dishes, bed side table, dresser, sideboard, tv stand, front hall bench, wooden laundry hamper, etc.

They charged the entire amount to my credit card 20 days before my furniture was delivered. Totally unacceptable.

Do yourself a favour and use a different mover. I wish I had.

Long-distance move from Montreal-Ouest, QC to Ottawa, ON

Move from Montreal to Ottawa.

These guys were great! Mark was friendly and quickly gave me a quote. Mark responded to my inquiries and I was contacted the day before the move to let me know when the movers would show up. On the moving day the movers were terrific, they called me about 1/2 hour before showing up to let me know they were on the way. Very friendly, helpful and got everything loaded up and off. We ran into a few logistical issues, but the movers were absolutely fantastic about solving the issues and getting everything in one trip and off to our new home. A huge thanks to Canadian Reliable Vanlines and the crew they sent to help us.

Long-distance move from Guelph, ON to Regina, SK

Horrible..terrible..despicable..

This company is absolutely horrid. DO NOT hire them. Moving from Guelph Ont to Regina. Mark is a liar and will say anything to get your deposit. He actually sent me an email guaranteeing the date of August 1st for delivery to Regina. Once he got my deposit, the nightmare began.
They picked up my stuff in Guelph on July 24th. This is from a 575 sq ft one bedroom condo. I wasn't taking the couch, tv stand, table and 2 stools. So only had a double mattress/box spring, dresser, nite stand, desk, desk chair, coffee table, tv and 14 boxes (that I was able to lift easily). The truck was already half full before they loaded my stuff. The next day they tell me I had almost 2000 lbs. I asked for the official weigh ticket and they sent me one dated July 25th that had to have included someone elses furniture. Their response was full payment was due immediately or they wouldn't deliver my stuff.
So based on Mark's written guarantee that it would be delivered August 1st, I booked airline tickets to be out their that week. On July 30th, I phoned them to confirm the delivery. Mark put me over to their operations guy, Bruno. He stated the truck was "stuck" in Northern Ontario and wouldn't get delivered until August 6th thru 8th. So I had to pay an extra $900 to change all the airline flights. Arrive in Regina August 5th to be there for the delivery. Called them August 7th to confirm. Was told by Bruno it would now be the 9th or 10th. My return flight back to Toronto was booked for August 11th and I told him it absolutely had to be delivered by the 10th. Called them again on the 9th to confirm the delivery. Was transferred to the rude, arrogant person called Stephen who started yelling at me and told me I was annoying him and he hung up on me. So I had to pay another $225 to change my return flight back to Toronto.
Truck finally arrived in the evening of August 11th. Most of the boxes were crushed, the dresser had several knobs ripped off, the nite stand had a foot wripped off, the desk was covered in scrapes and scratches and the coffee table had chunks missing out of it. Disgusting!! And the moving guys pretend they can't speak English very well.
So for the few items I moved, it cost me $1400 with these incompetent people, and over $2500 in airline tickets. I would have been better off just buying new furniture in Regina since most of my stuff was damaged anyway.
Run away from this company. There must be better ones out there but I have a feeling they all try to pull this crap. Good Luck!!

Local move within Alberta

Canadian unreliable more like.

We booked through Mark back at the beginning of June for a move on July 23rd to Toronto from Alberta. He refused to give me any information via email, he would ONLY talk on the phone. Clue #1. He was helpful, until he got $200 for a deposit from me. Then he refused to send a receipt, telling me I'd receive it on the moving day. Which doesn't make Sense as. Clue #2. So now, fast forward to July 22nd when I receive a phone call from Stephen regarding our delivery for THE NEXT DAY. He informs me that his "truck broke down in Regina" and "I'm giving you a day's notice so you can find another company". I replied with "what the f** do you mean you aren't delivery our items tomorrow now?" He then yelled at me on the phone and told me I wasn't getting my money then hung up on me. Well, they cancelled on me so they broke the contract and should refund my $200. I booked with them 2 months ago and didn't think anything of it. Thought we were secured but then bam, phone call out of no where. We move to Ontario on July 27th and here I am, struggling to find an actual DECENT moving company that won't screw us over. DON'T BOOK WITH MARK! You'll regret it just like I do now. We've called and emailed him and he just ignores us. Worst customer service ever. They don't deserve any customers.

Long-distance move from Edmonton, AB to Toronto, ON

Thanks Mark !!

I chose Canadian Reliable Vanlines based on the conversation I had with Mark on the phone He was very nice and explained the process very well, as I was moving for the first time across country so I definitely had a lot of questions and Mark was very helpful. The moving team that helped with the pick up and delivery I have to say they were brilliant!! They did a great job caring for all my furniture and belongings. When they arrived at my new home it was raining, they laid out floor runners and showed responsibility in not treading mud over the carpeting. The way they protected the doors and floors from the water was impressive. They were hard working and polite.

I will definitely be referring Mark and his Team to anyone I know who is moving

Thanks Again !!

Long-distance move from Montreal, QC to Toronto, ON

Avoid Avoid Avoid at All Costs.

If I could give 0 stars or even negative stars to this company I would.

My daughter booked a mover from Montreal to Toronto, sent them $ 200 deposit and then had to chase them every day for over a week to find out when they would pick up her stuff. When they came they assured her her belongings were under 1000 lbs, so no extra charges. They also said "when you're ready to move into your new place give us 1 day's notice." She moved in to her new apartment July 1 and was calling every day since then.

They gave her excuse after excuse and finally they admitted her things were still in storage .. in Montreal. Once they offered a date, now almost 3 weeks after they first picked up, it was upon payment of the invoice, that had not appeared up until now, showing a gross weight of almost 1,400 lbs and, of course, extra charges. Oh and the 1,400 lbs? A couch that me and my (not-that-strong) daughter could easily lift - I guess 200 lbs, a TV weighing 50-60 lbs, an electric fireplace, about 30 lbs from the manufacturer's website, a small IKEA coffee table, 26 lbs, and 10 boxes, all of which my daughter could lift on her own and one of which only had towels and blankets and two more just winter clothes.

I called the company on this and the person - Brenda - says her movers aren't professional so they can't be expected to know how heavy everything is. Seriously? You can't tell if a box is 50lbs or 100lbs? And YOU are the professionals? I know they lied and pulled a scam, but my daughter just wanted her things as she was living in a bare apartment for almost 2 weeks at that point so paid the ransom. By the time she got her things, her bill was almost 50% more than originally quoted. The boxes were all crushed, the couch was filthy like it has been left in a field. Oh and they charged her for "packing" even though a) they used her own boxes to "wrap" the TV, fireplace and coffee table, in spite of the original invoice saying clearly that packing and wrapping was included.

If you're looking to hire a moving company whatever you do please find someone else.
